So, we are ok with someone with no child handling experience produce a child?  That person will get themselves (or worse someone else) hurt/ aborted.  I agree that parenting rights shouldn't be limited but I also think people need to prove they have adequate knowledge to PRODUCE a child. Just having the plumbing doesn't help anybody.  Come up with a way that keeps our freedoms free, but requires sufficient training to produce a child and then you have my vote.  You have to keep the irresponsible and uneducated from just strapping on a woody and feeling empowered and then trying to use.

some times it just takes a certain little push from an outsider to create that little spark of curiosity and once it happens they take to it like a duck to water and then you realize you created a monster......... :rofl:   My second wife hated football because her first husband watched it but would never explain the game to her. When I was watching a game one day she came and sat down beside me and every time she would ask a question I would answer it. Here first question was what is a 1st down and I told her and the more she learned the more she wanted to know. Soon my house interior was turning orange here and orange there and I had a full blown UT NUT. I lost her in 1997 but I did fill one of her biggest dreams not knowing I was going to lose her but I got a buddy to loan me his season tickets he bought every year and even got to borrow his Chalet in Gatlinburg  for the weekend. She was excited that we were going to the mountains. I sprung the game on her after we got there. It was the same year Needem Stadium did their seat addition and when every began stomping their feet the whole place shook and you thought it was an earthquake. Sorry for going on so long but glad you got your wife included in your interests and hope she continues to enjoy it...... :up:  :up:  :up:  

Don't think I offered an opinion, I did ask a few questions of you, and stated some facts.   Once again, as you evidently did not get it, I will pose one of the questions, the most salient.  Where is it written in the Constitution that ANY amount of training is necessary to enjoy the right to keep and bear arms.  If there is no text that you can provide, then your statement about training being necessary is an opinion, is it not?

Who exactly should determine how much training is required? What sort of training? Who should decide what sort of training? Supposed 2nd Amendment supporters should stop trying to make "what they wish" into law. That's what liberals do.

What makes you think you're any better educated or more worthy to carry than others? I would like to see more readily available training out there too, but keep in mind that the right to bear arms isn't just about how much tactical training an individual has had compared to what you deemed as a standard. It's about the right to be able to defend their lives & the lives of their family in case an uneducated criminal tries to rape or kill them. Are their going to be idiots that would carry? Sure. Are their trained idiots that already carry? Sure. It's not a perfect world & adding more restrictions isn't always the answer.

Another good use for old tires, grow potatoes in them. Keep stacking tires, filling with dirt, greenery will keep rising and making potatoes beneath. You can go 5 or 6 high or so. To harvest, kick over the tires, spuds everywhere all in same limited area. Only downside is might need to water more often depending on rainfall. - OS

  You should know that if you use a firearm in justifiable self defense or defense of another, none of the weapons section penalties are applicable, permit or not, so that's a pretty moot point.   Certainly, having a legal firearm in the car is a big benefit, same as in your domicile. Maybe you take a nap at a rest area or truck stop and get accosted, maybe you come to the defense of your spouse who is outside the car toting purchases, maybe any other reasonable circumstances nearby but not actually in the confines of your vehicle -- parking lots indeed are a large percentage of robberies, shootings, etc. . Point is, law abiding folks are much more likely to be able to respond to whatever arises nearby outside the vehicle when they can legally pack heat inside the vehicle, that's only logical.   Same with your home. The castle doctrine does not give you the same presumption for deadly force outside the confines of your home, you are certainly fee to respond outside if circumstances dictate your reasonable fear of death or serious injury, something you couldn't do if you couldn't also keep loaded weapons inside the home. Yes, there's a minor difference, since you can pack heat anywhere on your property, but that is a technical one, as the rules regarding deadly force outside the domicile are the same as on the street.   Yes, stepping outside your vehicle with a loaded gun and no permit could possibly get you a Class A, B, or C Misdemeanor conviction. It could also save your or another's life in justifiable self defense, with no charge at all.  But risking conviction every day for simply having a loaded firearm in your vehicle is absurd, law abiding folks won't do it, and hence have no chance of saving that life.   Being able to have loaded firearms inside your vehicle without a permit is indeed the biggest stride toward the intent of 2A in TN since carrying a firearm became a crime in the first place.   - OS

I see the financing both ways. On the one hand they get paid for setting up the financing but on the other, that means they'll feel like they have more leverage on upping the price because  some people need the financing to buy the vehicle and also, it's only signing a piece of paper, not like it's real dollars and they know that has a psychological effect.   It all depends on your negotiating skills and how good you are at haggling. Myself, I prefer to decide a price and offer it and walk away if I don't get within where I'm willing to go (which may be higher than my offer or not). You'd be surprised how often you get called back once people are looking at your coat-tails leave the building.   I'd imagine that a successful tactic might be to offer cash then when you reach a deal tell them you'll take the financing if they bring it down some more.

Agreed Fred, Tony is a dirtbag and their CS sucks ass, having said that they do make the best OTF production knives so as long as I go through Hollow grind I will buy OTF knives from them, Pro Tech is my favorite knife company and very soon I hope they will put Microtech off the map

I had four years of martial arts training. Earned a black belt and all that good stuff. Most of it I have forgotten, and I'm becoming an old man faster than I care to admit, so I'll take a weapon any day of the week to stop an attack on my person or on a member of my family.   With all the blood borne diseases, I have no desire to trade blood with anyone in fisticuffs. In fact, I have no intention of letting them get that close to me.

Should those that hunt be required to prove training?  Just in weapons, or should they be tested on knowledge of the game they propose to pursue, if you deem that necessary to require. Not too long ago I read where a high up LEO shot and killed his friend whilst turkey hunting, bet you he had a lot of "formal" training with firearms.   I do not remember any statutory requirement to be proficient in the use of arms to be guaranteed the right to posses them in any Constitution, Bill of Rights or Declaration of Rights I have read yet. Can a parent teach a child the proper use and safe handling of a firearm, or does it require the State to be effective?  I am around numerous shooters between the age of 10 and 12 that I would trust with a weapon around me far more than some adults I know, and they have had no "formal" training, but they have enought sense to pour pee out of a boot with directions on the heel, which is more than I can say about some adults I know that are paid to carry firearms for a living.

Micro tech was a nice knife back when they were $150-250. Current prices are just way out of my ball park.

I use an AAC 51T Brake (twin hole) and a Surefire MB556K and swear by both.

I've had some come in the shop.  I try to hold my tongue but when pushed far enough to respond, I just tell them come get some any time you're ready.  I don't bother you and never have.  You come bother me and see what you get for your efforts.  The libertarian in me says "Go do what ever the hell you wanna do! Just leave me alone.  Refuse to give me my space, we fight."   I don't get much response from that, which is good.  All I ever wanted from hippie filth is for them to sit back, relax and have a nice warm cup of shut the F up.

I kind of like those guns in as much if you can do a fluff and buff on them you can get them to work.  A friend of mine gave me his black Lorcin to get running. (Lori and Cindy were the names of the daughters of the guy who owned Lorcin).  I disassembled that Lorcin and decided to clean it but didn't want to spend a lot of time on it. I sprayed some Gun Blaster on it and gasped in horror as the finished dripped off into my garbage can.  I got the gun cleaned and took all the finish off it and put that pot metal to the buffing wheel. That stuff will buff to a near mirror-like finish.  When I returned the functional gun to my friend I told him I had some good news and some bad news.  Good news is that it worked, bad news is that the color had changed and took it out of the case.  His eyes lit up like Xmas he was so happy with his now "shiny" pistol.     I do wish I hadn't gotten rid of the Jennings J22 I had at one time. That has to be the smallest "functional" semi auto .22LR I have ever seen.

Blues is good stuff, but for some reason I only enjoy it live.

Complaints/suggestions from my experiences. Don't charge for parking. $10 entrance fee is too steep. Too small of a venue makes it difficult to get around and look. It is a "gun show" for a reason. Several in the area only seem to be about 50% firearm related. I know a paying vendor is money to the sponsor, but really wish they would screen vendors and make sure it would be a worthwhile table.

  People probably shouldn't carry guns on their persons, either.  After all, if someone hit you over the head, took your gun and used it in a crime you might be sued.  Even if you weren't, how could you live with yourself?  That gun might be used to kill a child.   So we should ban all guns right now - starting with banning them from cars but obviously moving on to banning them from anywhere else that they 'might' be stolen, which is pretty much everywhere.  Hey, it's for the CHILLLLLLLDDDDRRRREEEENNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!    :panic:

Open carry without a permit is legal in many states and it has been that way for years. The irrational fears some of you are mentioning are the exact same used by the anti-gunners.   Very few people in TN open carry today. Why do you expect this would suddenly change if they made it legal without a permit?   I suspect the impact here will be minimal.

I have a problem. :) As I mentioned before I regret ever letting my first Vepr get away so I figured I'd get another one while I could and came across a pretty decent deal. Refinished the wood since this one came with a really light brown finish. It was nice, but I prefer a darker/redder stain. I also did some trigger work and am going to replace the YHM brake with a '74. I'm using the Bushnell AR223 till Primary Arms can get their 1-6 back in stock. Other than that I'm thinking I may leave the wood on this one ... for a while. It's really comfortable and it's nice wood.

I'm with Hershmeister on the vanishing 5.45x39. It isn't totally vanishing but with the price of ammo doubling mine may need dusting from just sitting around.

I think the southeast will do much better than the rankings suggest except for the Atlanta, Memphis, and New Orleans areas. A lot of the people there are close to zombies already.
