So if bersaguy ever gets banned he should refrain from ending his posts with "......jmho" when he tries to get back on under another username? :)6 points
-
And people think we can only use an IP to ban. We have access to a lot more than just IP and we use a lot more than just the IP to sniff people who are banned out. This guy made it easy because he used the same IP which any 3rd grader can match up a string of numbers. And we are constantly working behind the scenes trying to figure out who has come back. Do we get them all, nope, but the vast majority of members have unique writing styles and those writing styles are very unique, almost like DNA. Most often it is the writing style that starts an investigation but I also do random checks of people who have been banned days, weeks and even months after they have been banned to see if they have come back. Call it my LE in me but I find it entertaining to look for, find and then boot someone who should not be here.6 points

The phone did actually ring so when you hung before I answered it still woke her up. Now she thinks "Mike Gideon" is code for something else. Oh and the bruising is almost gone. Heck if Bersaguy quit putting "jmho" at the end right now I would investigate his account to make sure it hasn't been hacked.3 points

I notice people carrying all the time. I don't run my mouth about it. The guy sounds like someone who doesn't value discretion.3 points

The NRA is probably right this time. Sometimes the best way to preserve our gun rights is to not rub the other sides noses in it.2 points

Come on Oh Shoot, you know how that "legislative intent" works. Lt. Gov Ramsey pointed it out for all of us on the "Parking Lot" bill, as long as the legislature means for a bill to do something, that is what it does...2 points

I suspect that if one of those forms ever shows up at the TN DoR, the clerk won't know what to do with it.2 points

Some tips on bubba parts: I would avoid one with a scope mounted to the receiver cover (unless it comes with the original). I had one for a time, the fit seemed good but the scope would never hold zero. It also catches a lot of the force from the bolt flying back... it actually broke the windage off a leapers 3x9 i had on it. They make a buffer to stick in there, but.. meh. The draganov style stocks are worthless. It moves the weight of the gun so far forward of your shoulder that you'll have to extend your other arm fully to hold it up. Not worth it. Duckbill extended mags just make the gun heavy and impossible to shoot from prone without a bipod. I got an adapter that allowed me to use AK47 magazines at one point, that worked well... but again, it was heavy and unwieldy. At the end of the day it shot best in the original stock with the original parts.2 points

It's the TN dept of Revenue, not the IRS, but yeah, what Smith said. Here's the form for anyone who wants to do this. http://www.tn.gov/revenue/forms/sales/r0000501.pdf2 points

Motorcycle camping is the best. Went this past weekend to NC and did some camping and climbing. Here are a few pics: Campsite in the morning My buddy, Matt leading the third pitch Me and Ricky hanging out on the rock We got chased off the rock by thunder and lightning and rain coming in. This is Matt getting ready to rappel down. View of my shoes and the rock we just climbed up2 points

I'm surprised this is still here. If I hadn't just spent all my money on a Ctrl and an Alt, I'd be all over this. Good guy to do business with. Delete with confidence.2 points

My copy should be arriving from Amazon today. It's far more convenient for me to buy from Amazon and have it delivered than it is to try and find time in my crazy-ass schedule to stop by a store and pick it up. Plus I don't have to interact with people when I do it like this. :D2 points

For a change, I have an interview with Yates Nissan tomorrow. Wish me luck. I had one interview with Viam today, They offered me a job but i think Nissan might be a better company to work for in the end. It's the Decherd plant. First interview, then hopefully training, then hopefully i'll be working full time. (Just hoping i get hired on).1 point

Well, went to the range this morning. Had two guns to shoot I bought but had never shot. First one was the M four 22lr I bought from Jonathan. Gun performed flawlessly and was dead on at distance he said it is sighted in at. Disappointed in myself. It has been years since I shot a long gun without a Bi-pod in sitting position and it only took one magazine to remind me of why. First magazine dead on at 50 yards and every round center mass. By the end of first magazine shoulders were killing me with pain. I put in second magazine and had to quit shooting half way through it because of shoulder pain and could not hit center of target. Rested shoulders and finished 2nd mag. Got out bi-pod and sat down with third magazine and new target. 25 rounds could cover hole with half dollar center mass. Great gun, broken old man shooting. Also shot a LCP I have bought and never shot so moved target to 15 feet and went through 2 mags 14 rounds all in the red so will be keeping that one for my Get Off Me pocket gun. Now have to decide what to do about M four 22lr since I will not beat myself up trying to shoot it. Getting old sucks!!!!! ..................... :ugh: :ugh: :ugh:1 point

I got bored so I decided to try my hand at stippling magazines. It's a lot easier than I thought it would be and I have a few ideas I'm going to try out for the rest of the magazines1 point

I think it would be "safer" not to head down range when the line was hot, even if I had trained with my shooting buddies. I understand they have trained / deployed together and probably have the skill set to operate safely in this kind of environment. Heading down range in this particular scenario didn't appear to be a training exercise, just one guy impatient to allow the shooter to finish and wanted to get the target ready for when it was his turn. What if the Saiga had jammed, shooter muzzle-swept the area when trying to clear and had a ND? Not probably but falls within the realm of possible.1 point

I was building a shop for my business and our house that we had for sell surprised us and sold close to Christmas couples years ago. We decided to make half the shop living space and office and other half storage. I let my wife do the bathroom and kitchen just like she wanted. Have a 1500 sqft living area. When we build our house It will become business only. My mortgage on my building is half what my house was. Worked out good so far. That would be the best thing that could happen for the NRA. I would say "don't let the door hit you in the ass!". Act like idiots and people will treat you like idiots.1 point

If you think you don't like revolvers DO NOT shot a S&W Performance Center revolver. I have a 325 TR, .45ACP and a 327 R8, eight shot .357. They are the sweetest shooting handguns around!1 point

Maybe the guy was an ex of the bride and was looking for a chance to take out the guy that stole her from him. Happens all the time at weddings :). I guess I am just nieve but I just do not find myself looking/caring if someone else is armed. I think there are many better indications of someone with bad intentions than the the fact that someone Is carrying a concealed weapon. If anything I am thinking good I may have some backup if the need arises.1 point

the 180 rule is silly to me: bullets do not go out the muzzle and hang a left. I have before and will again stand less than 180 from a live shooter if there is a good reason to do so (example, to get a cool muzzle flash pic, with an experienced and trusted shooter who knows I am there and what I am doing). But this scenario was nothing like the 180 rule. IMHO the target changer is 100% safe so long as the shooter does not have any freak accidents (drop-discharge type stuff, or hot-brass-down-the-shirt-dance, etc) and the shooter keeps on putting the rounds on his target. FINE. But freak accidents and stupidity DO happen, and that makes the scenario totally unsafe and unacceptable to me. Worse, its unclear but the shooter seems unaware of the other guy. Shooting is like driving. There are things you can do that are safe. There are things you can do that are unsafe. There are things that are safe with pros but not noobs ("don't try this at home"). There are things that are usually safe but have risks. And just like driving, you can't trust the other people around you outside of very specific circumstances, usually in a private setting, and not always even then... so my final answer is: dangerous and unacceptable situation.1 point

keep an eye out for their Four Oak. I have not seen it lately, I am sure it will come around again though. IIRC it is about 100 beans a bottle. And just as a heads up for anyone, if you see Blanton's, buy it, and Elmer T Lee buy it. Next to impossible to get now from wholesalers. Just about anything coming from Buffalo Trace ( aside from BT) is going to be allocated, They are trying to copy Van Winkle and drive demand and price by limiting release.1 point
