The CIA had an opening for an assassin. After all the background checks, interviews and testing were done, there were three finalists: two men and a woman.   For the final test, the CIA agents took one of the men to a large metal door and handed him a gun. "We must know that you will follow your instructions no matter what the circumstances. Inside the room you will find your wife sitting in a chair. Kill her." The man said, "You can't be serious. I could never shoot my wife". The agent said, "Then you are not the right man for this job. Take your wife and go home".   The second man was given the same instructions. She took the gun and went into the room. Shots were heard one after another. They heard screaming, crashing, and banging on the walls. After a few minutes, all was quiet. The door opened slowly and there stood the woman, wiping sweat from her brow as she leaned back against the wall. "The gun was loaded with blanks," she said between breaths. "I had to kill him with the chair!!!"

I was never in the military. My reward for not being in, was not having to be in the military. That's all I get.  When all you soldiers, sailors and Marines are honored, I stand aside. I don't deserve that honor.

This is a far better investment of federal funding to local departments than giving them MRAP's or other military grade equipment for any whimsical cause.       As others have said, the expectations of privacy are different when you are a public servant.  If an officer can't meet the standards for interacting with the public, respecting their rights, ect, they don't deserve their pay.  I get that it's not easy to be a cop, and hiring good cops is getting more difficult, but standards need to be upheld across the board.  These cameras are a good way to help identify the bad ones who need to go, and make sure the good ones aren't given a bad rap.

Got a trophy today! Biggest buck so far for me. We have worked really hard on our property, taking off tons of does and letting nice, but younger, bucks walk to help raise our age structure. This bruiser was 4.5 maybe 5.5 years old. The processor was shocked how big his body was, hard to tell from the pics, but he has had quite good nutrition since we took the property over. Anyways, I am super excited and getting him mounted! Made a perfect double lung shot at ~100 yards. He is a 10pt. I thought he would hit 200lbs, but he weighed in at 180. I was completely surprised when my wife called and asked "What's in this big box that UPS just dropped off?" Heck I haven't even had time to think of something to tell her besides the truth.

Body cameras should be a non-issue for officers who aren't doing anything wrong. A body camera would have been extremely helpful in the Ferguson situation.

He is a very eloquent speaker. How refreshing it is to hear an elected official speak the truth. No teleprompter,  just well prepared, heartfelt words. I can only imagine how much better our nation would be with men like this as our president.

      I do  (I just saw the same news story). Just wait for it to become law that to own a firearm, you have to have one of these installed on YOUR gun. After some LE beta-testing, that's the next step down the road of "reasonableness" and the tracking may not stop there.   I'm not normally a tinfoil hat guy, but the technology is already there and making these mandatory for gun owners is not that big of a stretch in some jurisdictions.

I saw a report of a police shootout with a single scrawny dude who was shot multiple times with a .45 ACP. The round that brought him down was a round in the ankle. Shot placement rules the day.

There must be something really wrong with the shipping department at Palmetto State Armory. I ordered an upper minus BCG and charging handle on Tuesday at around 12:30 in the afternoon. As usual I prepared for the usual 3-4 week wait. The problem? It is already here! It arrived at my door at 1:30 this afternoon! Less than a week!

  The fourth die on the 223 set is a neck sizing die.  That's for resizing only the neck of the case as opposed to the whole thing like the full length sizing die does.    The fourth die on the 9mm is the factory crimp die.  The bullet seating die will crimp the bullet in place but the crimp die will do it more.

I couldn't watch 2 minutes of the video. There are some seriously sad people out there. :(

  I don’t know anything about land values in your area, but if it can’t be developed and it’s too steep to even run four wheelers on; it doesn’t sound like it would have much value to anyone except you. I may be way off base here but I would think you would be better off having someone else negotiate the price; if I was the seller I would think you would be willing to pay a premium. I wouldn’t want to show my hand just yet.

First of all remember that a tax assessment is not an appraisal. The assessment process is typically done by what's referred to as "mass appraisal". In some cases the value rendered can be remarkably accurate. However in the case of land I don't think so. Too many factors. I recommend having it appraised by a certified appraiser if you want the supported value.

I wouldn't mind having a bunch of those and slap them on the businesses windows that find CC so unacceptable.
