This is my 3 year old border collie Sophie. She's so smart it's scary and a very loving dog. She's also a real ham.... 3 points

Evidently I have little to zero willpower becasue I bought these on January 2. Top revolver is a Smith & Wesson Model 686-1 and the other is a Smith & Wesson Model 66-2. I'm a revolver addict. What can I say? The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. I just don't see a 12-Step Program in my near future.3 points

Inbreeding is a massive problem in all breeds. That's why we should spay/neuter, adopt from shelters, and give dogs that otherwise wouldn't have love a place they can call their forever home. Dogs biggest source of problems are human beings. Humanity playing God and altering the natural progression of dog breeds causes so many problems. I wish breeders and puppy mills would go out of business, but there are just too many people that walk into awful pet stores and fall in love with animals completely unaware of the conditions they are born into. We've all ignorantly supported these businesses before. My family is guilty of it, and the dogs I had growing up had health problems due to breeding practices. As for pure breeds, there are countless rescues dedicated to specific breeds. This is something I'm really passionate about, and I get tired of people using dogs and other animals for selfish reasons. As smart and refined as humans are, we are also selfish, arrogant, and disgusting in some of our practices.3 points

You obviously haven't ran into a large lot of fans of ANY type. There are rude fans of every team in the nation, means nothing for the rest of us.3 points

In light of the horrible incident involving a canine and their owner I say we post photos of our companions, and if you want give a little back ground to yours, to raise some spirits. My little gal is named Shade and I "inherited" her when my sisters girlfriend abandoned her in their breakup. She was forced on me but then, my sis didn't exactly have to twist my arm too hard. She is a total sweetheart and LOVES people but has an insatiable appetite of the avian variety, particularly chickens. Though she did come back one day with a buzzard... I caught her asleep here. Full on passed out on her back. Sent from the future using a flux capacitor.2 points

I picked up a used Mossberg 500 for stupid cheap at the LGS where I have good friends yesterday. We took it to the milling machine and cut the 24" barrel at 18.5" then surfaced it to make it perfectly square. Now we just need to drill and tap for a front bead, and I am going to strip, age, darken and refinish the wood to fit the trench/old school theme, and probably add a blued heat shield down the road at some point. For now I've got a good 5 + 1 home defense and general purpose shotgun.2 points

This one is around 11" OAL with a blade right around 5 7/8". It's made from 1/4" thick 1095 carbon steel professionally heat treated to a RC of 60. The scales are a combination of black G10 and red linen micarta with grey liners. It has two choils and an unsharpened swedge or false edge. I really like the ergonomics on this knife and as you see fits very well in a mans hand. It also has jimping along the spine just forward of the scales. I've applied mineral oil to the knife and haven't wiped it all off yet. That's why it's so shiny. The reason for the two choils is for more delicate or close up work and you can see how well the fingers fit.2 points

This one is around 11" OAL with a blade right around 5 7/8". It's made from 3/16" thick 1095 carbon steel professionally heat treated to a RC of 60. The scales are a combination of black G10 and OD G10 with grey liners. It has an unsharpened swedge or false edge. This knife has great ergonomics and fits very well in a mans hand. It also has jimping along the spine just forward of the scales. Like the last one is also has a stone washed finish. I've applied mineral oil to the knife and haven't wiped it all off yet. All those morons do is look for a crowd and then they burst in and interrupt it. They don't care what it is about as long as the news medias might cover them which of course they do. If the press would quite promoting these protests and begin degrading them they might quit all their BS!!!!!!!.................jmho2 points

Thing is though, he is not an ass. He might play one on YouTube or not take shit from customers bitching about a 5 dollar product, but he really isn't. John is a good guy and loyal to his friends and customers. I'm happy to call john a friend. But you certainly don't have to like him or even buy his stuff. He won't mind. I'm not even his target market and most of the Internet isnt either. But we keep giving him money and making Camden richer. So he must be doing something right.2 points

http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/personal/2015/01/05/dish-new-sling-tv-streaming-service/21236795/ Long and short, $20/month to stream a group of about a dozen channels including ABC Family, Cartoon Network, CNN, Disney Channel, ESPN and ESPN 2, the Food Network, HGTV, TBS, TNT, The Travel Channel and Adult Swim. IMHO, live sports have propped up the current model this long.1 point

This is Bandit, she is about 16 months old? Mostly Lab. Sharp as a tack, and fully devoted to the family. Well trained, mostly well behaved and she loves to cuddle. She also loves to play. We got her from here on the board when she was just over a month old. I hope the rest of her litter mates did well, but Bandit knows she won the lottery. I have a cat too, Moeko, but she won't sit peacefully and pose for a picture in exchange for a tortilla chip. She has been with us for ten years now. She is a good cat.1 point

I would love to hear more about this. That's a surprising amount of material to be taken off with jewelers files in a month, let alone 15 min.1 point

I'm afraid it might be too little, too late. Mind you, we don't consume a ton of sports, but we cut the cord a year or so ago. My wife wasn't sold on it at the time, but was just as peeved at the constantly rising cable bills as I was. I mentioned this to her a little while ago, and she replied, "I don't know that I'd be tempted to go back - even at that price. I just don't miss it." I'd love to see unbundled cable on principle, but I don't know that it will affect our family.1 point

Bumping this one up. Wasnt really in the market right now but came across an AWESOME deal on this Hamilton Khaki mechanical. Actually a friend of mine found it for me while out and called me and told me about it. Loving it so far. This is my first mechanical so its going to take some getting used to as far as remembering to wind it every day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

A suggestion, buy one of the 1/2-28 to 5/8-24 adapters. I don't remember ordering one but I had one show up today and all I can say is I was about to submit for a 22 caliber can but the adapter makes my 30 caliber can useable on all my 22 and 223 guns. And it is quieter than my 22 K baffle can I already have. It is, without a doubt, the best $20 I have spent on the gun hobby in a very long time. It makes your suppressor useable on so many more guns. And although mine is big it is not heavy because it is made out of titanium, aluminum and a small amount of stainless. This is the one I bought and it is perfect. http://www.ebay.com/itm/161530184785?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I have a dedicated 22 AR with a 3.5" barrel. Using the adapter the silencer fits perfectly inside the free float tube. And firing bulk pack it sounds like a heavy duty stapler like you use at the range. Out of a single shot Marlin rifle I can hear the firing pin hitting when shooting Aguila SSS rounds.1 point

The armor isnt light. I have not weighed the gear but would estimate maybe about 25lbs or so. Now after I get a chance to take some classes wearing it, I may opt for something slightly lighter but that doesnt break the bank in the process. I have mainly worn it to get used to the extra weight and have done some push ups and burpee type movements so I wont fall out. I am getting back into shape and am pretty sure that it will get easier as my cardio and strength comes back... In a nutshell, if all you can afford is steel, get them. IMHO, any protection is better than none. But if you can afford more and can make a knowledgeable purchase go another route to see the weight reduction without loss of performance...1 point

This is why I hope Michael Vick was anally violated while in prison...repeatedly. When I worked for Metro Nashville PD, hoodrats would fight dogs. The losers would be left and usually died, but not always. If they recovered, they roamed the streets. Sometimes it ended in tragedy.1 point

Yea. Ditto on the helmet and boots. You'll likely freak when you price quality stuff. One thing to be weary of if you have a short in-seam, is modern bikes have pretty high seat heights due to their long travel suspension. Don't underestimate the importance of being able to "dabble" a foot if you're off balance on the low side of the trail. I'm somewhat challenged in that area so about the best I could do was touch my toe tips even with the rear suspension sag set correctly for my weight. Really practice on low speed balancing and controls. New thought...Have you ever considered a trials bike? No worry about seat height on those. :) It might be what you need for tough access woods work. There is even a training place called the Trails Training Center in Sequatchie, TN. I went to their property years ago for a ride. They sell used trials bikes as well. http://trialstrainingcenter.com/1 point

It'll fall over if you stop. :) This is a bit of a drive, but probably worth it. http://www.offroad-training.org/DBS-Front-Page.html Here's another option closer to home: http://trialstrainingcenter.com/schedule/trials-training-days/ I've found this book to be pretty helpful. http://www.amazon.com/How-Ride-Off-Road-Motorcycles-Dual-Sport/dp/07603427331 point

Looks like these guys have a handle on parts, not what I'd call cheap, but when you look at the big picture it's not all that bad I suppose. Definetly doused a bit of cold water on my "need" though. :D1 point

An open field. Practice and take it easy. Let you in on a few secrets. 99.9% chance you will never have a wreck until you start thinking you're good. If you ever catch yourself thinking you're getting good at it....take a break. Also, get a GOOD helmet. If you have a $2 head then wear a $2 helmet. Appraise the value of your body and spend money on boots, helmet etc accordingly. No one who rides regularly ever says, man I wish I had bought cheap crap instead of this top shelf stuff. No one.1 point

Forget everything you know about 4 wheelers. Practice in an open area where there isn't anything hard and stationary to hit until you get the hang of things. I've taught a lit of people to ride over the years and always start them on some kind of dirt bike.1 point

Practice. It's basically a bicycle you don't have to pedal. Wear a helmet and good boots.1 point

I've been charged by 3 dogs in my life and 2 were pit bulls...I create my own opinion from personal experience.1 point

It all depends on who their perceived enemies are.1 point

"If pit-bulls cannot be gassed into extinction" Hopefully I don't come off as a jerk, but I've had several dogs and the one that currently has my families heart is an American Pitt-Bull Terrier. Just worked out that way, they were once beloved and like other dominant dogs, were war heroes. People played god and created them, I'd be wary about playing god deciding to eliminate them......1 point

We had the toy guns and figured out how to make gunpowder. That'd be prison time today. Once we made enough homemade gunpowder to fill a Mountain Dew can. Used a sparkler as a fuse and set that puppy off. All the adults just laughed.1 point

Unbeknownst to many in Tennessee, the color orange is in fact not a property of the University of Tennessee Volunteers and frequently enjoys use as a color for items to which attention is desired to be drawn. Also, I'm not a Vols fan. :)1 point

Like most others; I don't care one way or the other. I don't want a light on a weapon. I too was trained a light is a target. But I also am bringing the bad guy to me (if I am sure someone is there); I'm not going hunting. Like everything though its personal preference and how you were trained and is based on the situation/layout of your home. Our requirements will vary.1 point

I've witnessed ours run for his life, unsuccessfully on the hardwood floors for lack of traction I might add, on more than one occasion when a cabinet door was shut too loudly or a pot or pan fell onto the floor. It's like watching a giraffe try to breakdance on a frozen pond.1 point

All true. And none of that will change one whit unless the people of Maryland do something about it. Whether by making their desires known to their legislators (ha!) or through more direct and forceful means against those doing the violating. You and I sitting here in TN aren't going to do a thing to make a meaningful difference. So I choose to exercise right to make a good choice to stay the hell away from there.1 point

Maybe not SBR because it's not designed to be fired from the shoulder, but definitely NFA. As I recall, those are "Machinegun Jumblies". Since they're from the 1960s, they predate the 80's ban on new production, so they'd be grandfathered in once they're NFA registered.1 point

I would guess most people here are not posting, because this is a public forum and they don't want the general public to know what they have, just in case :)1 point
