I made this ugly thang a couple of years ago to fit my SP101 and fit in a blue jean pocket, it was specifically made for when i'm lounging around the house, carrying out the garbage etc. It's easy to grab the gun while in the holster and slip the whole package in the pocket and even draw it, it comes out when drawing and I can flick it off the handgun real quick. Ever think that the person who stole it did see you but not on that day. Perhaps someone who has seen you stow it before and knows where you stow it.   And I don't care who it is they are not going to hug me if they are offended by what they might feel when they do.   I hope you get your gun back but I would have a hard time not partially blaming the person who made you stow the gun. I would let her know that you are 100% certain there is a criminal with a gun around her store. Make her as upset about it as you are. The only places I stow my gun are the hospital and the the post office but my wife is ALWAYS in the car when I do. I will never store my gun because of a place of business, there are just too many places competing for my money right now for me to support those who do not believe I have a right to defend myself.

Well, as the day has went on, right or wrong, I've placed more and more blame on her. In all my years of carrying that's maybe the third time I've left my gun in the truck. I usually keep it on me and just don't draw attention to myself. If I know I have to go to the IRS building or something, I usually leave my gun in a safe in my office and hope I don't get mugged.

This seems way too targeted and specific of a smash n' grab.  Someone saw you unholster and stow it away.  You chose to omit the name of the place where it happened, but is there some reason?  Can you share?

Finally!   My boy was reading Craigslist this morning when he read me an ad. Expecting me to shoot holes in his idea like always, he was taken aback when I told him to tell the guy we'd come look at it.   We had to skip church this morning to try and beat the next guy to it, but there it was.  2004 Toyota 4x4 with an honest 83k miles. No dents, no problems, and in his price range.   I was beginning to think it didn't exist. I guess patience pays off. Now to get forgiveness for skipping church..... :hiding:

I'm not worried about this latest "interpretation". First they approved the pistol braces even if used to fire an AR pistol from the shoulder, then they confirmed the approval several times, and now they are revoking the approval and reversing their opinion based on their own subjective definition of the word "redesign". Their argument is that by simply using an item in a particular manner, you are redesigning it. So applying the same logic, if you drive your car fast then you have "redesigned" it to be a race car. Or if you fend off an attacker with a can of corn, you have "redesigned" the corn into a deadly weapon. So the corn would need to be registered with the BATF as an NFA item before anyone could carry it as a potential defensive item. Idiots. We need a new revolution, to go back to living under the full un-infringed constitution. Until then I'm not afraid of their liberal and politically motivated "interpretations".

People have a problem realizing that this is not 1970 any more when you could leave your home unlocked and go shopping and come home and nothing gone. We live in a time now of if you don't protect yourself and live behind locked and bolted doors and carry a gun you very well might be a victim by a complete stranger at any moment.    As for what has happened over the last 50+ years can be answered in one simple word. DRUGS!!!!! I would be willing to bet 90+% of all home invasions and Burglaries are drug related. You can look at the pictures in the Hermitage Home invasion and tell they were dope heads..............jmho     I don't move into any room in my home that i can't lay my hands on a gun. and when I go out in my own yard I am packing. You can get robbed while your cutting your lawn this day in time............jmho

I don't have a link, haven't checked Fox 17's site yet but I just heard two stories about self defense, defense of family. 1st story was about an elementry school principle shot and killed by her brother in Columbia, her husband shot and killed the brother, he had to retrieve his gun from his car the story said. 2nd story about a home invasion in Ruthord County, 2 men broke in and hit the home owner in the head with the butt of a shotgun and kicked him, the home owner made it to his room and got a pistol and shot and hit(???) the two suspects and they fled. Just repeating what the stories said.   1st story, if the husban had his gun on him instead of in the car there's a real possibility his wife would be alive and the brother dead unless he was in a different room, can't tell for sure but I sure don't want to have to get to my vehicle to get my gun if a situation happens. 2nd story, the man was very lucky he didn't get killed before he made it all the way to his room, if he had been wearing his gun there's a good chance he would have shot the invaders sooner and prevented a beating.   Some people may think you're a nut for carrying in your home, I don't care what they think, these are two perfect examples why I have my handgun on me at all times, i'm getting old and have orthopedic issues and just can't run through my house to get to a gun as fast as some drugged up 20 year old home invader.   I'm no self defense expert or instructor but my advice is at least have your firearm where you can get to it right away, if you don't want to carry a full size semi on your side all the time in the house at least a good snubby in a pocket holster is far better than nothing at all.

Yes, I think the used vehicle market will still take a while to recover, it ever, as far as good pricing on used. I know it's been about 8 years now, but the Cash For Clunkers program just destroyed the inventory of 3/4 year old good cars.

  OS is a fountain of knowledge.  I have met him a few times.  One of these days I am going to ask him what kind of work he does/did.  Probably overqualified for it.   This spring when I finally get some extra money I am a going to ask his opinion on building my first AR.  I know the basics of what I want to end up with but that is it.

I think that this is coming into light more because of the lady that was a legal permitted carrier and she made a wrong turn and ended up in New Jersey and she then was arrested and all of that other B.S. She even stated that she was not planning on even going into NJ but they still did it to her anyways. I would not feel comfortable carrying anywhere that is anti-gun. When I have to go to Illinois for family reasons I leave mine at my uncles house in Indiana and do not carry it past that state line.

NRA insurance will not pay unless you file a claim with your homeowners insurance first. If your homeowners will not cover your loss they then pay the difference.

Were you carrying in such a way that it would have been visible if you'd just kept it on your person, or was it adequately concealed?  And if the latter, was the business posted or something?   I'm just trying to figure why you were compelled to leave it behind, because ultimately now another improperly chaperoned gun is out on the streets.  People don't steal firearms to use them for lawful purposes.

Freedom Boobies for the win!

My wife has the hammer fired LC9 and the trigger sucks in a major way. Way to long, way too heavy and the worst part is the false reset it has about 1/2 way between the gun firing and the real reset. And at that point I had sworn off any other LC9.   Well today a LE friend of mine called me looking for a backup gun/ off duty gun. I told him to look at the Shield as that is what I was going to get. He called me an hour later and said he was getting and LC9 so I gave him a piece of my mind. But before I could get into a full blown diatribe about how bad the LC9 sucks he said this is the new striker fired version. He even said the trigger is lighter and nicer than the shield. At that point I told him to stop by because I did not believe it.   On the way home he stopped by and I gave the new LC9 a good look over. Appearance wise it is identical to the hammer fired version, it even takes the same magazines but the rear of the slide looks like any other striker fired gun. It will use the same holster as the previous version as well. Some other noticeable differences is the striker version does NOT have a magazine disconnect which is a God send because they are nothing more than an accident waiting to happen for most users. It is also lacking an external safety like most striker fired guns these days. It also is missing the loaded chamber indicator but that is not a big deal because you should know the condition of your gun as well as assume all guns are loaded. The all metal trigger is a typical striker fired pistol trigger as well with the blade in the middle to act as a safety. And when I measured the trigger pull it came in at under 5 pounds several times. This is really surprising for a carry gun of its size. I will say that the take up is about the same as the original LC9 but noticeably lighter. The reset of the new version is significantly shorter but you will still have to release it ~1/4" for the trigger to reset. The sights are typical 3 dot sights that are drift adjustable.   My friend did say he compared the Shield to the redesigned LC9. He said the Shield had a much crisper, but heavier, trigger. He also said the reset on the Shield was significantly shorter than the LC9. And looking at the stats online the LC9 is 2 ounces lighter than the Shield.   I will say that the trigger, from a personal perspective, was very surprising on the redesigned LC9. It was light enough that I even said "WOW" out loud because it actually feels a lot lighter than the ~5 pounds it measured at.   He fired a few hundred rounds through it without a single problem.

I'm all about pushing something til it breaks; both for the torture testing AND just for the fun of blowing something up. If someone has the cash, I say go for it. I regularly buy cheap guitars and get donated/cheap electronics just to shoot/destroy. It's a hoot! If I get to the point where I have enough money to torture test guns and ammo like that, I'd do it, too! :-D

Why didn't the crappy team just throw in the towel?  Why didn't the officials just stop the game?   Suspending the winning team's coach is ridiculous.  Sounds like the only thing he could have done was take all his players off the court and let the losers play with themselves.

The coach should have been suspended.  I have done a lot of coaching.  Once you have an insurmountable lead, you take your foot off the gas.  The only lesson the coach taught his team is how to humiliate another person.  He should have had his third or fourth string in running passing drills.   I am all for crushing the opponent in sports but there is no excuse to humiliate them.

Back years ago I lived in Antioch long before it became gangland and I made many trips to La-Vergne and It was a nice quiet town. Even considered moving there once. Don't want to offend anyone living in Antioch or La-Vergne today but from folks I know that have just moved from both areas and they have made the statements to the fact that La Vergne is nothing more than South Antioch these days and no of them would ever move back to either. They could also opine that a "pistol" may not contact anything other than the hand(s) while firing after all that is how the definition reads. Imagine the stir up that would cause if you could no longer shoulder a bare buffer tube and that you MUST shoot it using a SINGLE hand as the definition states.   Wonder what the odds are that the first person who gets caught is from a state that has the Freedom Firearms Act in place. And if so I wonder if the state would defend the person from the feds. I doubt it as most states passed it as nothing more than a way to get votes.       If they wanted more revenue all they would have to do is figure out a way to do quicker approvals. I have talked to a lot of people about NFA stuff and the vast majority do not get into it because of the wait times, not cost. Most people, including me, hate tying up cash for the amount of time it takes to get approved. Even the month it takes to get an eFile approved is way too long. If nothing else do a frequent flyer program that after your initial wait you are issued a unique ID number that allows you to do an instant purchase with only an instant NICS background. The NFA program could easily make a profit for the government if run correctly. I mean the system hasn't really changed since its inception in 1934. You still fill out some paperwork, pay $200 and wait for the approval .   Personally the NFA, in its entirety, should be done away with. All you should have to do is the same background check you do right now then walk out with your SBR, SBS, silencer, AOW or machine gun. If something needs to be regulated then regulate the person and not the item. If it were MY country anyone can own anything and the ONLY people who would be "regulated" are those who have proven to be violent. I don't care if you are a felon 100X over, if the crimes are not violent in nature you should be allowed to own anything you want but if you have a violent misdemeanor you loose your immediate right to own a firearm. But even if you have lost your right to own a firearm you have a means to restore those rights. It will not be easy or quick but it will be possible.

If they are going to say use determines status then I will drop some full auto parts in my guns, so long as I only fire in semi auto I should be fine right?   I really wish Tennessee would pass a rifle carry bill but if they do we will get overrun by Carry Tennessee buffoons like Texas. I have been sending emails to representatives asking for legal rifle carry for HCP holders.

I will say this, it is the Perfect Carry knife and what I would call the absolute best Gentleman knife. I will be buying a few of these in different configurations in the future and  on the 23rd, I will post Pictures of it and maybe a video showing just how cool this new knife is   I do know that outside of Protech I am the First and only person on this planet to have one in my possession at this moment, Very cool of Dave to trust me with this, so I hope you all understand why I have to keep my promise and keep it under wraps until they announce it.
