  I have a problem with the notion of governments "owning" property.  Yes, they can and should dictate how some property is used under their control but they do not own it.  The people do.   It's a matter of semantics but still I think should be keep in mind.

So a friend wrecked his car. I, being awesome and somewhat bored with my current mode of transportation, sold it to him.  In my quest for a new vehicle, I came at a massive fork on the road.  A nice WRX that needed motor, or a blurple miata.  Needless to say, the embarrassment on my brothers face when I picked him up at school in it was the greatest feeling I have ever felt. You cant hide your face with the top down, and the radio allowed all his friends to see him driven away to the sound of lady gaga. I threw my dignity out of the window, but it was so worth it.  I will upload a picture of the pocked rocket as soon as possible.

LOL. Beauty's always at its very best in the eyes of the beholder. Ask the mother of the winner of an ugly baby contest if her babies beautiful. If she's a good mother she's going to look you straight in the eye and tell you yes, regardless of evidence elsewise. But FWIW the PT111 isn't a bad looking pistol...and the ones I've shot ran pretty good too.

What is this "pretty Glock" of which you speak? Sure, next to an HP, it's the belle of the ball, but when the beer goggles wear off you realize just what exactly you brought home with you.

They didn’t get the County discount, and no County funds were used. So all this is about the fact that they may have used County computers during working hours to make the contacts? Who hasn’t done that at one time or another? Is it a violation to be on the net on those computers? RCSO has some big problems but I doubt this is one of them. If they were violating tax laws; they need to deal with that. But then there will be a bunch of people caught up in the investigation. I find it interesting that we watched a video of Deputies embellish a K9 hit on a car for PC to search and the Sherriff approved their actions. But we are supposed to be upset because the Sherriff’s family is involved in a business with the jail, or some Deputies bought some ammo on-line. Some people’s priorities are messed up.

Revolver ammo is easier to reload than semi auto in my opinion. If it'll fit in the cylinder and won't blow the gun up, it'll work. Semi auto guns are more fussy about their diet.

I am pleased to announce that last Wednesday, the 6th, I happened to be driving through Nashville.   I cleaned out the Charlotte Pk WM of Perfecta 9mm, well maybe there was one or two boxes after I bought 20, literally minutes before the price changed.  They had already taken down the red $6.94 price tag and the clerks were telling me the price was going up...that day.  They scanned a box and it was still the nice price.  As an added bonus they had American Eagle .22 in stock so I was obliged to pick up the 3 box limit.  :D   Also swung by the Mt. Juliet WM to load up on the ZQI 7.62x51 before the price went up.  Made an impressive score there as well.  :D

I have not used a palmetto 9mm specifically, but the mag block style run fine so long as the block is good quality.  I believe theirs are aluminum, so they should be gtg.  I have only ever used the kind that insert from the bottom of the magwell.  Theirs is the kind that goes in from the top.  I am not as crazy about those because you have to remove the bolt-hold to install/remove them, but I believe they are of sound design.

Or steal a rail from the end section and remove the last post. Take out one section instead of the whole fence.

I second this idea. Add a few flowers along the road and drastically increase your curb appeal.

I also like to collect old guns, but most of my old guns don't have a modern equivalent to compare too, so I don't find myself in the dilemma that 1911 pistols put me in. I'm just hoping that if the CMP gets these, that the prices for field and service grades will be below the $1K mark. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I just picked up an FNS 9 compact. I like everything thing about it but I shoot low with it. I let two other guy shoot it and they were both dead on so I know it's me doing it. Gonna have to work with it some more.

That old cleaver is cool as is. I'd sharpen it up, oil it up and put it back into service!

The sporting clays complex out in Bordeaux is a great way to blow an afternoon.

Class went just as I expected it would...A "no BS", straight forward presentation on civilian pistol skills at the likely engagement distances for armed citizens.  The drills were relevant and required not only quick hits on target but something that some folks tend to forget about ...quick ACCURATE hits. Fast misses rarely have any effect and fast peripheral hits rarely have the fast fight stopping effect you need when a guy is 3 steps from you trying to kill you...... This class was an excellent tune up for for both the newer shooter and the more experienced .  

IF it were to go through, bear in mind that CMP will still have to unpack, inspect  and in some cases repair as needed every single pistol. Last I heard they were short handed and couldn't even keep up with current demands for sales. I figure it could be a couple of years or more before the pistols actually go on sale.  Oh and yes, I'd buy one, maybe two......... or a dozen.  :D

As several of out brother opiners have said, loading for revolvers is, indeed, easier than for semiautomatics... Loads are more flexible... The most overlooked thing is a good crimp... All ammo needs some form of crimp... The crimp thing is much easier with the revolver loads... Make sure ya resize the brass before loading and get a good crimp on the completed round, and everything will be ok if you do your job well....   leroy

I hope those pistolas aren't anything like the last one I was issued just prior to the M9 transition.  Rattled like Carmen Miranda's castanets and turned orange at even the prospect of rain. 

The extruded powders seem to cause me a little grief but as musicman said, the powders he was using, worked very well for me.

I'm not familiar with Power Pistol as a powder. Is it a larger flake type powder? Powder granule size is another factor when trying to throw consistent and small charges of a given powder. I use the Lee Pro Auto disc powder measure and generally get great results, except when trying to use larger flake or disk powders in 9/38, etc. Specifically, I don't use 800x, Clays, and to some extent Unique when the load calls for less than 6 or so grains. As the powder charge grows, the inconsistencies aren't as great/obvious or dangerous. This is my experience, and take it with a grain (ha!) of salt. I have found myself falling in love with all of the AA pistol powders (2,5,7,9) as they are super consistent, small spherical powders that measure absolutely flawlessly. I still have lots of other stuff and continue to use them, but I'll buy AA powders whenever they're available above the others now because they have been so easy to use for me.

Agree that there are worlds of great 1911s out there today. We are blessed to not to be required to only dealing with all of the old worn-out and war-weary 1911s that where the majority of the market only about 35 years ago (another than a Colt of course). But what the new ones don't have is this........ And the History that goes with it.

I really don't think they're all that ugly. Some other handguns are not all that attractive either. Like maybe..............A Glock.  :rock: They're pretty good guns for the money. Mine's like a tank.

Actually yes, the ones made now look significantly better than the earliest ones manufactured and sold. Think along these lines, form follows function. Then think along the lines of maximizing profit while maintaining or even improving reliability. That blowback action pot metal slide mass thing really works. HPA got it right and I hope they continue to stay in business and we continue to poke playfully admiring fun at them.

I got half a case of the 9mm for $6.94/box last weekend and regretted not buying more before I even got out of the store, because they've had none left last 2 times I went in to check.

    Yes, yes and YES.  AND, obviously ANY boxer could whoop my butt, but a pro boxer [only] couldn't stand toe to toe with an equally experienced MMA fighter.  After watching MMA for years, boxing is boring.   I've argued this with people before, and it's true, if it was fist against fist, a boxer would have a decided advantage because it's all they study but what can boxer do after he gets taken to the mat, gets mounted and has elbows raining down on his head?  He can bleed a good bit before the ref stops the fight.  

If...., and that is a BIG IF so long as BHO is still around...., this happens they'll have to build a camp ground at the South Store for all of the folks waiting for the door to open on 1911 sale day!   :hyper:  

Congrats on the new pistol. I tried to like the FN/FNP series of pistols, but just couldn't get comfortable with the grip on them. No disrespect for the pistols, just didn't seem to fit me.

FN stuff certainly should be good. They have manufactured one of the world's priemier military/police pistols since 1935 - the FN P35, known in this country as the Browning Hi Power. Congrats on finding a gun you're so satisfied with. That's a habit with FN owners. Well, one buddy and I went today and got signed up.  I think it is going to be a great place to shoot as many have mentioned.  I didn't do any shooting today as it was way too cold for me, but there were a couple of crazy people out.
