This is what happens when they close the gun-show loophole. Now, they have to resort to robbery when they used to be able to buy fully automatic clips on the Internet. But, don't worry, if they decide to sell the guns to their friends, they will do a background check first....Please don't tell Obama about this, I'd hate to have his feelings hurt since he is in touch with his tears....give me a break!7 points

And that is exactly what the Democrats count on. Democrats vote Democrat no matter what, it's us on the right that divide our votes because the Republican doesn't meet all our preconceived ideas of what a Republican should be. Don't get me wrong, I am not a Donald supporter, and I will not be voting for him in the Primary. But when it comes to the choice of Hillary or whomever the Republicans put up...I will go Republican. I will not let others decide who represent us in the White House, I don't care if the Republican doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell in TN, I will still give my vote to them.5 points

How about a thread of our furry (or not so furry) friends helping out? Here is Ginger helping as I read through TGO! She said I needed a new Avatar as well. 3 points

It basically clarifies what is already the law. If you're in the business of selling guns you get a license. For example, those guys you see at every single gun show buying and selling guns who always have tables in the same spot. They're going to have to get a license as they are obviously "in the business".3 points

so anyone wanna sum up that post for us ADHD folks that cant focus long enough to read that?3 points

Update: Daisy (Dolly didn't stick) went to the vet today. She did great. A little scared but she did awesome. First and most important and what I was terrified of, she is heartworm negative!! Yay! She weighs 58.4 lbs and she did have hook and round worms. We got a years supply of heartworm prevention, Drontal to kill what worms she does have and all vaccines necessary. She did great! Just thought people might enjoy an update with everything else going on.3 points

Bait and switch alert! Nothing yet but the stock. Gun arrives next week, Zenith MKE Z-5RS. HKparts stock came in today so thought I would put a teaser up. Wanted this specific setup since I was a kid, would prefer an auto, but no bueno on that much $. Will have a can on it as well, but want to get the pistol in hand before deciding on a model. Step 1. Stock Step 2. Pistol Step 3. Waste ammo (skipped this step - mp5 pistol is about useless) Step 4. Form 1 - submitted approved Step 4a. Waste ammo - successful That was rapid firing two mags (mixed cheap ammo to see how it functions - this thing chews up aluminum case stuff, there will be no more of it) at 25 yards, standing with the iron sights (no adjustments made from the box). Rear sight is hard to get used to, it sits too low. Another issue was that it's strange holding the front hand guard, much more accurate if you hold it by the front of the mag well/mag. Probably going to go with optics on it even though I said I wouldn't. Step 5. Can & paperwork done Silencerco Hybrid :) , paperwork filed. Step 6. Waste ammo (need to order adapters and then will be able to fire it at the range, it came configured for .308) Step 7. Enjoy2 points

And the wait is officially over. Picked her up today. Pics below. Some of you have seen me post some info about a custom rimfire benchrest gun I am having built. It has been done for a few weeks, but I have been waiting on ammo testing to be done. Well, today was the day for results. I haven't even seen the gun, but I at least know it will shoot. 40 shot group at 50 meters came in at 15.3mm edge to edge. As you can see, the 10 shots groups were a bit smaller. I am sure it is going to outshoot me, I just hope I can learn to read the wind well enough to complete. I had some groups down in the 11mm range in some other lots, but there was also an almost 19mm group in that same lot. This one was most consistent overall. I will add some pics of the gun when it gets here. Should have it in hand on Friday if all goes well. I pretty excited right now. When I get the bill for the case of ammo, my enthusiasm may be diminished  .2 points

Here's the simple take on the whole selling guns as a business thing: It was this way before Obama opened his mouth on Monday, and was just as vague then as it is now in respect to how many guns sold makes you a business. Nothing is any different. I haven't read all of the stuff that Fox News has apparently provided, but I consider them as reliable a source of information about gun laws as I do them a reliable source of unbiased news. I'd take whatever they produce with a grain of salt and go hunt down information from the source. The BATFE link is a good place to begin. Beyond that I'm looking for guidance from the NRA, GOA and other Second Amendment powerhouses.2 points

Careful tough. Last thing you want is to turn yourself into a mall crawler. One of my old bosses has a lifted jeep and it has never seen a trail. He even uses tire shine on the tires. And with the new light bar fad, its only getting worse.2 points

They're just looking for the guys that robbed a store. We should all want to catch the bad guys, right? Stole some guns or shoplifted a loaf of bread, theft is theft. Checkpoints at every stoplight! Huzzah for freedom!2 points

Seems to me, that you can still sell 100's of guns a year, not need an FFL, as long as all the purchases are to 'improve you personal collection of firearms'.... I really don't think this changes anything... 1. Don't get business cards that say you're a gun dealer if you don't have an FFL :) 2. Don't take credit cards, cash is king - because the ATF wants to encourage you not to have any method to trace somebody who bought a firearm from you ;) 3. Don't sell guns to make money to live off of without an FFL 4. If you want to sell a firearm online make sure to add to the post why you're changing your personal collection, how you did or didn't like the gun, how you need the money for some other gun you really want to buy, or how you want to improve your collection ;) 5. Finally, if you go down to the local gun store and buy 10 Glock 19's and try to sell them for a profit, you're probably a gun dealer and need to get an FFL - duhhh1 point
-
From all I have seen, these FFL "clarifications" will not affect the average gun owner. If you have a gun in your own collection that you decide you don't want, there should be no reason you cannot still sell that gun without having to conduct a background check. Same as it has been for years. Most of us have nothing to worry about. However, the things that do concern me are the AG's statements regarding the Justice Department's intent to prosecute some "marginal cases" (in the words of the AG). I would expect somewhere in the next 12 months to see some guy arrested and charged who has sold a few guns at a gun show (or multiple gun shows) or has posted multiple guns for sale on the internet (since that seems to be a big issue for this Administration). I suspect the AG intends to push the limit of this and make an example of somebody. Ultimately, it is the "facts and circumstances" issue. Very similar to trying to define justified self-defense. There is no bright line. The closer you get to the gray area, the more risk you take. The more guns you sell, the worse it looks. The more times to sell (i.e., you sold gun or guns at multiple gun shows), the worse it looks. Best bet is to stay away from that gray area as best you can. One gun here and there shouldn't be an issue.1 point

I am serious and would not exaggerate my report. I really wanted this pistol but it really was spongy feeling . I am all about adjusting to the gun but this was just a little too much for me . And if you know me I am very forgiving. Like I said , I am a very big Ruger fan and carry Rugers on my days off. This Ruger will have some adjustments I suspect in the near future and if it does then I'll get it .1 point

Guys... one of the members shared this with me. From what I am reading here, the ATF says that there are *zero* provisions for legal home distillation of alcohol. 1 point

As an informed clicker, what's your angle on this? A newcomer who feels the need to "rattle our cages". That's a serious question... as I wouldn't join a community to immediately point out how I felt other communities were better in my opinion. I'm not signing it because: A.) Spam ahoy B.) It's entirely unstructured, it's just a rant about "don't touch mah guns"... maybe it needs to be about specific callouts like unconstitutional embargo's on weapons import? Or the up coming EO's? and finally C.) He called them assault rifles......  :rant:1 point

I think you have her confused with Taylor Swift, lol. Adele could crush TS,both with vocals and physically :) My point earlier in this thread was it's usually in poor taste for one star to sing anothers song while the song is still near the top of the charts. I'm not talking about some Chinese guy karaoke to gangnam style and posting it youtube. This is a world known singer, doing a currently popular song, badly, and will take whatever publicity she can get from it to get back in the news.1 point

Millions would disagree with you. She has one of the most amazing voices ever. If anyone hasn't heard of her, go listen to some of her songs before making up your mind.1 point

I tried something different with my Perry suspenders today. I wore the front hooks around the side like trucker style suspenders. It was so comfy that I ordered a pair of these suspenders online.1 point

I don't know. How did Bill Ruger found one of the greatest American firearms manufacturers then convince the federal government, thus subsequently every gun grabber, including state and local governments, than 10 round magazines were all that was needed?1 point

I'm another 870 fan, basically because I bought one 20+ years ago and I've done dang near everything with it with a 28" barrel and modified choke. I keep meaning to get a real turkey choke and an 18" barrel to use it for a house gun but I haven't had time to get around to that it seems. With that set up I've hunted small game, doves, turkey, coyote, shot clays, and used slugs to hunt deer. It pays to clean it every 10 years or 5000 rounds as it gets difficult to cycle if you don't.1 point

Most people lose sight of the fact that the RTF guns were the result of after action reports from secret squirrel units that do everything wearing gloves that wanted something with a more aggressive grip. They were not really designed with concealed carry against skin in mind , they were designed for carry in exposed holsters and tac gear and being used in harsh conditions by guys wearing gloves.1 point
