  1. Guys and Gals, I now will be dealing for several more knife companies, Kershaw Spyderco, SOG, Buck First Edge USA, Pirranha, just to name a few, If you are wanting any certain model of these companies, let me know and I will give you the Best price that I can I am still a Master dealer with Protech, so my close relationship with them allows me access and favors that the other companies will not be able to afford me,

  2. I see a lot of guys talking about being prepared for a SHTF situation, but I notice a trend with a lot of us that was raised on good Southern cooking, and that is a serious problem with being in shape. I've always been pretty athletic and I have a decent amount of knowledge when it comes to nutrition and working out, but in the last four years I gained a lot of weight due to constant travel, divorce, stress, etc. I smoked cigarettes for 11 years and when I "quit" smoking I was never without a chaw in my mouth. Recently, I had a come to Jesus moment about my health. I'm not getting younger. I am no longer "invincible." Nothing in particular happened to me, I just got sick and tired of feeling sick and tired all the time. I used to run four miles a day and I ate great, but my lifestyle changed when work became mostly about travel and free catered food with a dessert spread that would make any man drool at almost every gig. For the past few months I've dropped a great deal of fat from working out 5-6 days a week with weights and cardio and from eating a very clean and balanced diet of single ingredient foods. Nothing fried. I drink water, black coffee and protein shakes. I quit all tobacco. I feel better than I've felt in years, and I've got the people I work with as accountability buddies. We workout together on the road and eat right. Anyway, I say all this to say that it won't matter much if your bug out bag is loaded with the best stuff, or if you have the biggest stockpile of ammo and firearms.. Survival of the fittest is for the people that are prepared in all ways. I just want everyone to be the best they can be! Something to think about!

  4. Last year I had a Go Fund Me come up on another website I hang out in. It was for a deck of cards with all the various kinds of AKs from different countries and in different configurations. Well after donating and him getting enough dough together he was able to produce these. I opened one for everyone to see what all is inside. These are as high quality as any playing card I have ever played with. They also give all the information for that particular model like caliber, country and anything unique to that model. And these remind me of the old Army recognition cards we would get in the Army. And now some pictures. Spades are Russian guns Hearts are Chinese guns Clubs are German guns Diamonds are Bulgarian guns On some of the individual cards like the Joker, and a few others, they have more than one listed. So I have one opened deck and two sealed decks. One of those sealed decks is staying with me but I will be auctioning off the last remaining deck. Not sure on where the proceeds will go yet but it will go to benefit someone other than myself. Just be on the look out for the auction thread please.

  7. I bought a new Tikka 204 Ruger as a lightweight walking around varmint gun, but it came with the nice wood stock. I wanted to shed the weight of the wood as well as try my hand at trying to Camo a stock. I was able to get a takeoff T3 Lite stock on ebay for $45 so it was now just down to a Hydro printing kit or spray paint. I really wanted to buy everything to hydro print as I like to play with things like this, but in the end, my $30 in paint won out. I have to say, I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I don't even really care if gets scratched for no more than I have in it, and a scratch will only blend in. Anyway, if you have ever wanted to try it, it's pretty easy. My results.

  12. The behavior of the attacker disgusts me, especially with the victim being elderly.   Many on the forum have talked about keeping doors locked, while wise, no one has acknowledged that the victim was 78 years old.  If I live that long and an still drive, I don't have great expectations that I'll remember things like locking the doors.   In the same way that a hate crime adds to the charges, I think there are special circumstances for elderly victims as well.

  17.   Do you really think ATF would let Taurus sell a SBS without a tax stamp?   In short, no, it is not classified as a shotgun for a variety of niche reasons, since it is designed as a .45 pistol with a rifled bore that happens to also shoot .410, never had a buttstock, is not in a caliber over .5", etc.   - OS

  20. These guys will get and go to work in the morning just like the rest of us. Try to keep your texting to a minimum, as they work in the road, and you wouldn't want to get a dent in your car from running them over. Tomorrow evening when you go home, they won't be in the road. They'll be getting salt trucks ready to salt and plow snow tomorrow night so you can get to work thursday morning and make fun of them. They'll still be at work most likely going home Thursday evening.   As I said, they are hiring! ;) Start's out at $1604 per month.

  21. Sure, no problem. I basically started off using this idea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wn9wqmFAKo4 I went to Walmart and bought 5 colors from the Rustoleum camo collection (Black (which I didn't end up using, but would if my base stock wasn't black), Brown, Dark Grey/Green, Light Green, and Tan. I removed the recoil pad and sling studs before painting. The tools of the trade so to speak. The stock was black to start so I used a heavy duty scotch bright pad on it and put a coat of Valspar clear primer made for plastic on it. I then cut out some basic shapes as he did in the video and taped them to the stock. I then put a couple light coats of tan. I then put more tape shapes on it and did a couple of coats of light green. Once that was dry I removed the tape. It will look similar to what he did. I didn't want it to be that drastic of camo, so I then grabbed some leaves off of one of my evergreens as well as some dead sticks with a few fingers on them. I took a piece of cardboard and layed the sticks on them and sprayed to get a stick outline. I then cut it out and used it with the dark brown to create some stick shapes here and there. I then took an evergreen leaf and simply placed it on the stock in different positions and sprayed with the dark green. You can play with how much it takes. I just did those two items until I was happy with it. After I was done I decided I wanted a little more tan, so I use some tan over the evergreen leaves in a few spots. I think the biggest thing is to have some dark areas to use the evergreen leaves on. That is what will make them stand out. That was about it. I sprayed some clear matte over it and called it a day. I was amazed at how quick these paints dried. Literally 5 minutes between coats on the base coats and not more than 2 minutes between coats on the lighter stick and leaf coats. It was really very easy. I think in reality you may be able to skip the taping at the beginning, but that was how I ended up where I was.

  24. An Army Ranger, a Recon Marine, a Navy SEAL, and a member of Delta Force are sitting around a camp fire. The Army Ranger, bragging about his exploits says "You guys aren't so tough, I once parachuted down, marched fifty miles, and killed everyone in sight." The Recon Marine is unimpressed, and says, "That's nothing, I once made a beach landing, marched 60 miles, and killed everyone in sight." The SEAL is unimpressed, he says "That's nothing, I once swam 10 miles to shore, marched 70 miles, and killed everyone in sight with my bare hands." Thoroughly impressed, they all look over at the Delta Force member, and he's dead silent, just stirring the coals of the fire with his d***.

  25. What are you setting the headspace on?   If it is for an AR I would not worry about it unless you bought the cheapest parts out there but even that doesn't guarantee it will be out of spec.   You cannot really adjust the headspace on an AR after the barrel extension is in place and the gas port drilled. It can be done but it will be a hack job when finished.

  30. So I've owned at one point or another: 2004 Ram 1500 quad cab 6.5' Bed 2006 Ram 3500 mega cab 6.5' bed 2004 Durango 2006 Jeep Commander 2010 Ram 1500 5ft bed Crew cab 2015 Ram 3500 Crew cab 8' bed 2015 Jeep 4 door So with that said here's my opinion. Anything less than about 6.5' bed is useless. Even putting an 8' 2x4 takes some tie downs. The rear doors need to be full sized. I don't know that they make anything smaller now? I don't find the smaller trucks worth it. A full size is about the same price and much more useful. Diesel power is worth it. Also holds its value much better. I just finished a trip from Cincinnati to Nashville and back and got 18mpg out of my 3500 dually. The gas engines I've had got about the same mileage. I carry 2 adults, 4 kids, and 2 boxers comfortably inside my trucks. For the dogs if you really need to carry them in the bed get a truck with a sliding window and a cap with the same. The suvs we have owned and currently own are not as wide as the trucks which makes them less comfortable when putting a but in each seat. They also do not have the leg room that is in the trucks. The back areas are too small. I can fit more stuff in the cab of the trucks (esp the megacab) than I could in any of the suvs. As usual YMMV

  32. I've been going to the gym for about a year and half and have struggled losing weight. I feel better and have more stamina but the belly just will not leave. During a recent doctor visit I had my testosterone checked and it was at the low end of the range, Doc suggested trying Androgel, tonight will be my third application, having blood drawn in three weeks, back to see the Doc in four. He says it could help with weight loss, among other things, we'll see. Either way I enjoy the gym and warmer weather the bike will come back out. Turning 61 in June, I have the same belly my dad had, didn't think when I was younger it would happen to me!

  34. Nothing beats running for pure calories expenditure...   I say that -  the Y where I work out has a sort of a ladder on a treadmill type machine.  You put a belt around your waist and start climbing.  The belt is hooked to the brake, so the higher you climb, the faster it goes.  The machine has a marketing label on it calling it the "most cardio efficient exercise machine."  Turns out that's a euphemism for, "this machine is going to do it's level best to kill you before you get off of it."

  35. Being able to magnify to a six is nice, but I really like the option to power down all the way to a one.  One of the only complaints I read about the Leopold was some people felt the scope was not a true 1.25 and had a hard time shooting with both eyes open on the lowest setting.  Thanks for the heads up.

  39. I had a similar "come to Jesus" moment about my weight last year. Cut back on what I eat (eliminating carbs and sugar wherever I could) and started walking a couple of miles a day... dropped 40 lbs.... well, closer to 30 lbs at the moment.. it's a constant struggle. I still need to work on my cardio, but at least I feel like I can do that now without keeling over. It's a ton of effort, but I feel better these days than I have for most of my adult life... totally worth it.

  46. I drank the Frog Lube kool-aid and wasn't overly impressed.  I've started using a blend of automatic transmission fluid and 5w30 motor oil.  If they are good enough for the high friction, high temperature, and high pressure conditions in a vehicle, I figure they are more than sufficient for keeping my guns lubed up.

  47. The wife and I voted yesterday.  Cruz supporters here as well.  But I will say it until I am blue in the face.  In the primary you vote with your heart.  In the general you vote with your head.  The "my guy didn't get picked so I'm going to take my ball and go home" mindset will deliver the whitehouse to Hillary or Sanders and then its just a few short years until gun rights are practically a thing of the past once they get their SCOTUS nominations in place.

  48. How is your boss doing financially?  My first rule of taking financial advice is I don't take it from people who have less money than I do.  I agree that walking away from a house is a horrible idea.  You and your wife are out there killing it socking back an entire income, congratulations!  If I were you guys I would be paying that house off as quickly as possible.  Like, have a years worth of expenses in the bank and use every bit of the rest of your money to pay off the house.  Then you can invest that money in whatever you like and have a ton of financial freedom at a fairly young age.    Which situation would you rather be in in 10 years... A)  Have 20 years remaining on a mortgage but you have some investments that may or may not pan out?      or B)  Own your home free and clear with an extra income that you can do whatever you want with?
