Well I was wrong about the amount of the reward earlier. It was not 60,000.00 but was 130,000.00 dollars. I sincerely do hope that this great American armed citizen receives the well deserved reward for his bravery and not allowing these bad guys to escape his grip on them. It just is another PRIME EXAMPLE of the capabilities of a well armed and evidently well trained American that will never get the attention from the news medias that should be well deserved.........JMHO4 points

Smokey Mountain Knife Works just sent out their first in a long long time automatic knife catalog. It's only for residents of Tennessee. I took 6 Smith & Wesson Extreme Ops auto knives to Peru as gifts to LEOS I either shot with or just came in contact with. I still carry my original one with most of the finish worn off. I may cerakote it but that would double it's value. It's only about $25 new now. Just because I could I got the BOKER KALASHNIKOV in desert tan for about $50 delivered. It's button doesn't stick out like the S&W but it's still a good deal. They have knives from about $20 to several hundred so you can get whatever you want, or aren't worried about tearing up, my big deal. Register your email ahead of time to get their offers and they'll send you a 10% discount. I don't have anything to do with them, I'm posting because it's been a while since I've actually seen them for sale. Cherokee Slim3 points

Just received my 75B Omega back from David, very pleased with his customer service and looking forward to shooting it tomorrow. My Omega was needing a trip to a qualified gunsmith after having been fixed by a local expert. How one can take 4 months to booger up a hammer and sear as result of replacing a trigger bar spring is beyond comprehension. Contacted CGW in late February, was advised they were taking in no new work until late March / April. David told me he manages the inflow so he and his team can focus on the guns on the bench vs. the backlog of guns on the shelf. Received email from CGW, ready for additional work, if still interested, please contact. Opted for the Pro Package. Process for work order, shipping, etc all handled by CGW, combination of email and phone 8- 10 week promised turn time. Sent mid April, returned in approximately 8 weeks. Received a call from David verbally detailing the work completed and final cost. He replaced the sear, added $9 to my original quote. Credit card by phone for payment. Comparing the trigger action to my SDP from CZC, the Omega trigger is better. It's got to have something to do with geometry... I also think it equates the quality of work put out by David and Angus. Comparing the P01 to the 75B, note the differences in the pics: the upswept beaver tail allows me to get a slightly higher grip. Omega specific, the shape of the trigger is more comfortable for my itchy trigger finger and shorter reset/take up.3 points

I got the same "common sense" registration argument from a coworker the other day. He opined that registration would provide extra motivation for people to not leave guns laying around and make it easier for the cops to determine who owns guns used in crimes. He compared it to car registration. My response was ... so you're saying a car owner should have some liability if they leave their car unlocked and it gets stolen and used in a crime? No, I'm just talking about all these cases where kids pick up guns left laying about and shoot one another. How is registration going to fix that? It'll give people incentive to not leave guns laying around. So fear of liability? How's that any different from now? In most instances like that I'm aware of, the owner of the gun has been quite easy to find. And you think people who would otherwise leave a loaded gun laying around in the presence of small children will be motivated by knowing their gun is registered? Yes. Um... ok.3 points

I personally don't believe liberals deal in logic. They do however deal with oppression, hate, deceit, socialism and outright lies. I know there are other adjectives for them but you get the idea. Left and right believe in many end beliefs.....the problem is they usually have a much different way of getting there and if you aren't using their way then they start the name calling and the rest that goes with it.3 points

The future of gun shows for me is over. The prices have gotten way out of hand. I've been doing my gun related buying through the internet. I shop prices, make my choice, and the item is sitting on my porch in a few days. Guns go through my local FFL dealer.3 points

Maybe they could start an annual congressional 3 gun tournament. I highly doubt anyone would show up at practice for that with the intention to shoot any congresmen! Heck they might even find out how fun shooting is...3 points

Hard to carry on the field, but aimed fire from those in the dugouts might have brought things to an end faster. Sadly it probably wouldn't have changed the result much in this case. Everyone I saw interviewed said it took them a few moments and a couple of shots to realize the gravity of the situation. By then the congressman had been shot. If those two Capitol Police officers had not been there then of course it would have been a very different story... It makes me wonder about how long I would take to react in similar circumstances when seconds count. In this sort of situation the aggressor has the advantage for a few crucial seconds. The only advantage the direct target has against this sort of attack is that they seem to universally be poor shots... The advantage swings to the legal gun owner when they can respond in defense of others. This is unexpected by the coward and they usually fall apart quickly.3 points

In all seriousness, I have thought of it, but I have little fingers around. I also thought of things like these Tactical Walls items, but budget and spouse agreement are issues there. They make a ton of options including an "Issue Box" that Is a tissue box with a false bottom for a pistol.2 points

I've been watching and wondering which way the fence riders would go after this horrific shooting episode. You never know, since the Liberals brainwashing has been really strong. A person could hate the feeling of helplessness in that kind of situation of desperately needing a gun and not having one and still slip on either side. It all comes down to their outlook on what a firearm is. A tool that can be used for protection of self and loved one(s) or an evil entity that should be eradicated. I've read several reports that the GOP members are wanting to protect themselves, which is a power everyone should be allowed to have of course. This leads me to one thing though. They are wanting to be exempt from DC's anti carry laws. I think that if a law exists that those in Washington feel the need to be exempted of, then it's a pretty ####ty law to start with and shouldn't be on the books at all. Sorry for the French, but that is how I feel.2 points

I would not say it was cowardly of them to let an armed civilian take them down and put them face first on the concrete. I think they realize very fast that dealing with an armed civilian that is willing to take them on is just as willing to shoot and kill both of them and they decided to go into survival mode rather than fertilizer mode.......jmho2 points

Captured by a homeowner AND no 'blaze of glory' for these guys. Good. Also shows them to be cowards at heart. Sure, they could 'ambush' and murder corrections officers and they had no problem strutting around, threatening and tying up an elderly couple and holding them for three hours but when one guy with a gun gets the drop on them they just apparently give up and go quietly. I hope they not only receive fitting punishment for all the things they have done to escape and while on the run but that having their run end this way will turn any 'respect' fellow inmates might have had into disdain for having been captured in such a manner.2 points

The report did not spend but a brief minute of so on the armed citizen that caught them but a long time about their jouney after they escaped. I sure hope the guy gets the $60,000.00 dollars reward they had offered for them. It was for information leading up to the capture of them. I don't think they figured an armed citizen would just hand them over to police..................2 points

I think thats a cool option, done right and compact enough I would love to have a 9mm setup with a red dot. I've got a S&W 22A and it a blast to shoot1 point

None of it makes sense. They were so desperate to escape that they killed 2 guards yet they surrender without a fight to some random dude?1 point

Well that was not the story I just heard but you may be correct. I just know the homeowner read his explanation from a script and even had documented times of each event which sounded to rehearsed from my viewpoint. He never mentioned that he and his neighbor were armed in the part I just saw on channel 5 News. All he said was he had every gun he owns loaded and ready and then began praying.1 point

The homeowner and his neighbor weren’t unarmed. But they were; they left their guns at the crash site.1 point

The political football of tighten, relax or enforce current gun laws will be very much in play in light of all the the recent shootings. Found this opinion piece interesting... https://www.ammoland.com/2017/06/truth-gun-violence/?utm_source=Ammoland+Subscribers&utm_campaign=32325863a4-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_6f6fac3eaa-32325863a4-21140109#axzz4jtS9EYRF1 point

My most carried handgun is my S&W 642. I like the .38/.38+P cartridge. I like that it is a S&W. I like that it is a revolver. I like that it rides pretty well in a pocket holster in most of the pants I own. I did not like the hard to hang onto, exposed backstrap, palm beating, inaccuracy promoting (even at close ranges), follow-up shot destroying, sorry excuse for vestigial grips that came on it from the factory - so some time back I changed them out for a set of Pachmayr grips that are much easier to grip, much more comfortable and which make the gun much easier to shoot accurately, and ride just about as easily in my pocket. Now I am happy with it!1 point

And your method of carry would be... ? Well, you DID say cloths, not clothes, so...1 point

I haven't been to a gun show in...well, I can't remember exactly how many years but I'd say at least three or four. I have been thinking about going to one of the Knoxville Expo or Chilhowee Park ones specifically because there is a guy there who sells some hard-to-find magazines usually for a little cheaper than I have found online, especially when you factor in shipping. I would like to find a couple extra for my FEG SMC-380. It isn't a priority, though, because the one mag I have with it works fine and I rarely even shoot it - more just a 'if I have the gun I'd like to have extra mags' thing. Last time I checked he didn't have the SMC-380 but had the mags for the slightly larger 'brother' to the SMC and those mags will work in the SMC but will protrude a little from the mag well. Bonus, though, is that they hold an extra round or two over the SMC mags. There used to be a guy who was affiliated with a brick and mortar gun store who would come to the smaller show (Great American Gun and Knife Shows were the promoters) that were held at the National Guard Armory in Maryville. I used to really like going to that show but only because he was there. He would sell things that the store had acquired but didn't necessarily want to sell in the store. These were old but still serviceable guns that were nothing special but were good shooters/user guns and many were priced at under $100. I actually bought several from him over the course of a few, different shows. Those are the kinds of things I like coming across at gun shows. If I am going to spend several hundred dollars on a gun I want to go to an LGS where I will have a good, solid point of contact after the sale, just in case.1 point

I don't really have a problem with any person in the Congress whether House or Senate that is authorized to carry in their home state being allowed to carry while at work in D.C. Maybe it will do some good because the people (Civilians) can then use it as a reason to have those same privledges be given them. It would be a little hard to tell the people you can't but we can and it hold water..............JMHO1 point

Guns and things that go with them only. Many guns shows are killing themselves with off the wall stuff.1 point

I go to guns shows for guns and gun related stuff; however, if some tasty beef jerky is being offered I will sample and purchase.1 point

The poll needs another choice - nothing. Have the same rules as the Tulsa shows, gunshows are for guns. No prepping supplies, cheap clothes, beef jerky, camping gear, those damn annoying taser/zapper/bug laser/whatever they are displays, etc.1 point

This coward is indeed the only one responsible for his actions and he's gone now. The bigger problem is that there is a measurable part of the population that doesn't have the skills to deal with loosing. They want a participation award for living... if they can't get it they will throw a violent temper tantrum. Most of these cowards use only words, or social media, but a few become physically violent. The problem as I see it comes from these few people following a meme together and getting incited to group violence. Their minds can't differentiate between right and wrong they have no morals and are cowards of the highest order looking for something to make them strong. They latch on to an idea and use that idea for strength and justification of violence. BLM riots are the same as the Berkley and Evergreen campus riots. To them it's about fairness, not right or wrong. They feel justified to threaten or commit violence in the name of fairness To them it's all about what they WANT to be given, rather than what they will DO for themselves. This has been a long time coming. I think it's a form of civil war. The wanters vs the doers, fairness vs hard work... I'm a doer and will defend myself because of that, I won't go out and commit acts of violence because I don't need to to make myself feel good, or strong. I have the moral strength to know right from wrong and not harm my fellow man except in defense.1 point

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I was a dealer many years ago and have been collecting for 40 years. I would be glad to come across the river one evening or this weekend and identify what she has and options for selling at the best price.1 point

Not here yet but I ordered some additional steel today myself. Nothing too fancy, an additional 6" gong and some mini 1" & 2" strip gongs. Also picked up some additional T hangers and some rubber straps to try in place of chains. I get most of my steel from https://shootingtargets7.com/store/ they have a sale on every holiday, even small ones like groundhogs day. If you get on their mailing list they will remind you of the holiday sales.1 point
