If you're Obama, you win no matter what happens in the polls. He'll be working the rubber chicken circuit, making bank, protected by the Secret Service on our dime, for the rest of his life. Honestly if I were him, I'd want to lose the election just so I could get started with that.

If Obama wins, I want to see a bunch of middle aged, over-weight, balding white guys looting the Quickie Stop on MLK Blvd. Kicking in the windows and stuffing the back seat of their bimmer with cases of frappuccino and Gardetto's. Some others gasping for breath on the verge of a heart attack about a block away because that's as far as they could carry the case of diet coke. That would f-ing ROCK! That is all. Carry on.

I early voted. My wife received her US citizenship a few months ago and today was able to vote for the first time here in the US. She said that everyone clapped when she cast her ballot.

For me, my day tomorrow will go as each day does...I'll go to work, earn some money, pay some bills, read some, watch some TV and play with my cat and my dog then go to bed and repeat the same thing on Thursday and on Friday. If Romney wins, as I expect he will, I'll be doing all this things with a renewed hope that this country may begin the slow, slow, process of stopping our headlong plunge over the financial and socialist cliff and start to turn back toward liberty and freedom and personal responsibility. If Obama wins then I truly believe that the country our founders gave us will be lost as we'll continue to spend trillions of dollars we don't have...leave Americans to die without help and without repercussions...punish achievers so that we can reward the inept and lazy...dole out "justice" at the whim of unscrupulous, morally bankrupt people...and call our friends enemies and our enemies, "friends"; all done, of course, in the name of "fairness" and "equality". At least at my age I can be pretty sure I won't be around long enough to see the worst of it.

It is discouraging to read, even on this forum, that so many are given to the notion that who is president makes so much difference. Granted, with BO it DOES make a difference, because he has no qualms about bypassing congress or the Constitution. But with most presidents it really doesn't, nor should it. What's more important is who we elect to the Senate and House. With enough Tea Party and Constitutionalist members, I believe Romney can be pulled to the right. BO can not, as he has demonstrated multiple times. Economically, Romney knows what the gov needs to do (get out of the way) to get businesses hiring. BO doesn't care. His goal is to bring the US down a few notches. And he has been successful. So when R wins today, I'll improve my outlook about the future. But I harbor no illusions that all is peachy. Tomorrow we are going to have to get started keeping him and our senators and representatives on a short leash and make sure they do what is in the best interest of the country and not in the best interest of their reelection or which cocktail parties they're invited to in DC. Will that happen? It never has in the past, but I really do think that BO has caused such a backlash that we are starting to see more and more paying attention. I just hope it lasts. From that perspective, I'm kind of glad that BO beat McCain in '08. With McCain, we'd still be plodding down the same road we've been on for 100 years. With BO stomping the gas pedal to the floor, it woke up many sleeping passengers. Will

Trained well enough to know that if I have a "gut feeling" something was wrong I acted on it. Disarming a person that you feel is a possible danger is for his safety also. It keeps you from having to kill him if he does something stupid, and it reduces his chances of shooting you while you are dealing with the ticket, accident, arrest, whatever. Bad people shoot cops on traffic stops and Police Officers will never (Hopefully) be required to wait until guns are pulled to act.

Restoring and protecting our republic is a job that never ends nor is it a spectator sport - we can't let up on the pressure just because Obama gets replaced. Individual people CAN make a difference but ONLY if they engage themselves in the process.

One of the things I've noticed about some firearm enthusiasts is that some seem to have a chip on their shoulder when it comes to LEOs. We all know there are "bad cops" out there who will stomp all over our "rights" and/or who on on some kind of power trip but whether the LEO is right or wrong, the side of the road is NEVER the place for such things to be decided. Statements like "[i]Where in the Constitution does it say my rights can be trampled on so someone who knowingly accepted a dangerous job could feel all warm and fuzzy[/i]?" reflect an attitude that will, in my opinion, not serve one well long-term no matter how many times one has been pulled over with no problems...[b][i]yet[/i][/b].

Oh, I know who I am voting for. I am voting for Gary Johnson. It is no longer enough for me to vote against someone. Even though the Marine seemed a bit assertive, the LEO had absolutely no right to cuff him...PERIOD. The Marine may have been assertive because he is a MARINE. The LEO was not aware of the laws in his own state and cuffed the individual just so he would feel safe. That is not a reason to cuff someone. You cuff someone to detain them for doing something ILLEGAL. There were no laws broken here. The LEO was wrong. End of story. Most LEO's do a great job. This is a small example of an LEO making a poor decision. He should not be fired for it, but I hope he at least learns from it.

With respect to law, it is different. "Strict scrutiny" has legal significance, whereas "a view" does not. While not ideal, this is at least a step in the right direction in LA.
