  1. Literally got nothing this year. I told all of my family not to get me anything because I was spending all their gift money on toys for the children's hospital.. And that I did. Bought more this year for them than any other year. Hope it helped some of the families out.

  2. I've missed more Christmas' than I can count, so it was great being home with my family for this one. Couldn't have asked or wanted for anything other than that but my wife really went above and beyond and surprised me with a S&W Governor. She new that I'd been saving here and there for one but she did me one better and saved up a bit each month this year to be able to get it for me. I was completely surprised and feeling like a very lucky husband. I also think I better bring my A game for our anniversary in a couple weeks.

  3. I got a happy wife, kids, and grandkids. That means more to me than anything I could have gotten. There is no better feeling than making your family happy. Ok, Shania Twain delivering a new Barrett 50 in skimpy lingerie Christmas morning would have been ok. Seeing the look on her and my wife's face when I shouted and jumped like a child, grabbed the Barrett, and closed the door on Shania would have been worth it.

  5. Well, I was not expecting anything and ended up getting a Salt and Pepper shaker set and new coffee cup. Daughter was at Bass Pro Shop and saw them and got them for me. Nw I have a bigger morning coffee cup which is bigger than the old one which means less trips to the pot each day!!!!

  12. Fitness and knowledge are really your best tools to survive a major disaster. I have been trying to work on both. Shedding my years of desk sitting weight has been a goal if mine. Still a work in progress.

  13. Do not take this wrong, do you really need a knife every day? What about a short fixed blade? No opening or closing.

  14. I got an Echo, that was neat. Now I need to learn to use it. The puppy got my a Deadbeat Thank You Fuzz pedal. Which brings into sharp contrast that my Mule Strat needs to be finished. $300 in parts and labor on a $100 guitar is awesome.

  17. I don't know about the rest of you...but I don't own any Assault Rifles. A few modern sporting rifles, but none of those evil ones that lurk in the shadows and fire indiscriminately at people. Hope his few minutes of fame bites him in the butt.

  18. These were made from farrier's rasps as requested by the customer. The first picture is what each blade started from. They all had Arizona Desert Ironwood handles with SS Loveless bolts as well as epoxy. The rasps had to be normalized, worked, then heat treated and tempered. The block is made from walnut. Thirteen pieces make up the block then glued, jointed, sanded, stained and finished. It took the better part of a month working part time to finish the set.

  21. I've found the best result with a dosing of brake cleaner as prep. Mainly to get any cosmoline cleared out as well as any loose gunk. A little wire brush around the feed lip welds and it's usually good to go. The parkerizing or coating that's left works pretty good as a primer. Plus the Duplicolor works well on just about any surface. Again, it's an AK mag. You don't want it to look too good!

  27. An alternative might be to pm one of our resident TGO knife makers. I've had good luck with gran torino and sybo. I think either could make you whatever you want and the quality is fantastic!

  31. When looking for an out the front (OTF) knife stay away from the cheap stuff. Junk is junk you get what you pay for. I've had good luck with microtek, Hogue, and benchmark. It's going to cost you 250-300 for a good one, but it will be a one time purchase. The carpet knife may be a good answer, also try a spyderco if possible. The large thumb hole is easier to grab as a two handed opener, and if you have the dexterity they are some of the easiest to open. Another option is a small fixed blade like a neck knife. The easiest knife to open is the one you don't have to...

  34. A massage/heated mat for my recliner (already put me out once this afternoon), a bunch of gun cleaning items, several guns (pics to follow later) and a certificate from my wife for a new (very large) gun safe of my choosing. The best gift this season though was getting my in-laws settled and safe in assisted living (mother in law moved from NC to TN near us) and my father in law a nursing home lined up to move him in January from NC to TN. They will now be within 10 minutes instead of 2 1/2 hours away. Been a tough few months watching their health crash around them but we are still Blessed more than we should be.

  36. Anything com bloc is typically fine. Poly mags are generally not worth anything. Folks run them but I don't. Circle 10's are great but cost too much just too loose a little weight. There are some Bulgarian poly mags that have steel lined lips and lugs that are equal to circle 10's, cost the same or less than steel mags, but rarely do you know if they are reinforced without having a knowledgeable seller or seeing them in person. I find the steel lined poly's ever now and then and I grab them up. They are usually overruns of military contracts. Steel com-bloc are your best bang for your buck. Avoid Promag, Tapco, or any other domestic made ak mag. Just not worth it when your can get steel mags for the same money. The KCI's are hit and miss.
