  1. Hey Bill, sorry sent ya an email. I dropped this and I apologize for that. Bad at reading stuff at night on my phone with intentions of coming in next morning and responding. Trust me, annoys the wife too ;o) Comcast has my phone all jacked up so I'm not getting any voice messages. Still here, in Oliver Springs now but as Bryan said I haven't been able to browse the site like I use to but happy to help you all if I can. Miss you guys! Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

  2. They're not going to take them - as such they're not going to compensate anyone. They're just going to declare them illegal and future possession will be considered criminal. It should go to the courts - but the courts have spoken on this a long time ago. Wonder what else they might apply it to?

  3. Since moving the shop to OS several years ago, I've been keeping pretty steady hours of 8:30A-5:00P M-F I've been doing quite a bit of machining/labor jobs for other FFL/SOTs across the country but I still do general smithing as I always have. I do still ask folks to text me before they make the drive so I can confirm I'll be around. (803) 517-5448 is my cell. And of course email is welcomed as well Thanks guys

  4. Settle down folks. I'm against this as much as you are. However, the lawsuits will get an injunction to prevent enactment of this ruling and I believe it will eventually be declared illegal/unconstitutional by the courts. So everybody looks like they tried to do something. But in the end, nothing changes. A typical Washington dog and pony show. I suspect it may have been planned that way on purpose.

  5. Picked mine up about 30 minutes ago. Great looking pistol. Will be a few days before I can do much evaluating. Feels great in my hand though.

  7. People can either shoot them or not, and you find out which category you're in really quickly. If you have shot a fair amount of shotgun it's no issue to pick it up and put several slugs center mass at 15 yards. If you haven't, well, good luck getting on paper.

  8. I don't give a #### about bump stocks. I care about them stealing private property with no compensation. THAT is where Trump went really wrong, and that is what is going to give him a case of achy testicles. What remains to be seen... how he deals with it.

  9. I can't figure out why anyone is surprised by the actions of politicians, much less the actions of our current resident in the White House. How do you know when a politician is lying.........

  10. I can't see how anyone who has ever read a law book would think this doesn't violate the takings clause of the Fifth Amendment, which prohibits theft of personal property by the government. I don't give two hoots in hell for bump stocks, but I look forward to the lawsuits over this foolish action. Remember when Trump was elected and people were predicting we'd get silencers removed from the NFA? Instead, an all-Republican administration goes for almost two years doing absolutely nothing to strengthen RKBA, but as they hand the House over to the Dems, they give us this.

  11. The thing that gets me is that Trump didn't have to do this. The Vegas shooting happened over a year ago. People aren't even whining about bump stocks like they were. In fact, the only person that kept talking about them was Trump and the only people that were complaining about them are never going to vote for Trump anyways. This makes zero sense for him politically. Trump did this because he wanted to. Why? I'm done with the NRA. I'd rather give money to a group that doesn't Negotiate Rights Away. This is what happens when the NRA becomes an extension of the republican party rather than a non-partisan advocacy group. They did a damn fine job when Obama was around and now they work with Trump to ban an item that really isn't a problem. It's also pretty scary that they can do this without a buy-back. So for those of you that don't care about Bump Stocks I want you to keep this in mind the next time they come for an item you do care about.

  12. Remington has really upped the ante in the rule-defying "firearm" shotgun market with this new semi-auto handful. This really revs my engine but they are not cheap. Has anyone seen one in the wild? .

  13. From top to bottom 2009 RAMI 2075 P 2013 SDP, an improved P01 from CZC with CGW grips. and the one that started it all, my beloved 2006 75B Omega, improved by CGW with Hakan Pek grips. All in 9mm with mag compatibility, though I have not tried the 18 MecGars in the RAMI yet. I like the SDP the least, while the trigger is smooth, it's slightly bumpy, which makes sense since you are moving parts in a complicated decocker sear cage. It is also equipped with Heinie 2 dot sights and I've been a 3 dot guy for nigh 30 years. I'm planning on using the RAMI in the upcoming training class with Randy. If I like shooting it, I will send it off to CGW.

  17. I am by no means a constitutional scholar nor do I know the history of how the fifth has been applied to these types of situations but the key word is “use”. Bump stocks are not being appropriated for the “public use”, they want them destroyed. The only people who are going to get compsensated are the lawyers who are hired to fight it. Even if some resolution is agreed upon, the owners of bump stocks will receive pennies on the dollar if even that.

  19. I went to HD here in Lenoir City today and they only had the single as mentioned for 19.95. I took 2 of the singles to the service counter and had the 2 pack pulled up on their app showing the sale price. The lady discounted the 2 $10 each to give me the price so I didn't have to order online or go to another store in the area showing them in stock.

  21. As much as it pained me to do so, I had to make the hard decision to back off of getting one. I really wanted one but I just have too many irons in too many fires. Being a semi-responsible adult sucks sometimes. Lord willing I won’t see one in my local gun shop because I don’t know that I could help myself.

  22. I didn't get the price. After 7 or 8 hundred rounds the rails on the frame where the lug rides started wearing oddly. I thought it was strange but it was new and I've never had trouble with a Beretta but then she locked up TIGHT. The armory sent it back and a month later they sent me a new one minus the G conversion kit. My original one was from Gallatin the new one is obviously Italian.

  23. I believe that wouldn't fly, and that they have to pay fair market value just like they must do when they take your property under eminent domain.

  24. Banning bump stocks the way the administration did it is probably unconstitutional because it violates the Fifth Amendment, not the Second. The government can't legally steal personal property; if they take away something you own, they have to pay you for it.

  25. So I made a simple open display stand for the Seax and sheath. It's right at 7" tall. The walnut is 1" thick. I've had that piece in my closet for nearly 2 years. The finish is a homemade mixture of beeswax and coconut oil.

  26. I don't know the twist rate of your barrel my friend but I'll try and include a diagram that may help somewhat. Twist rates matter. My ancient 16" Bushmaster Dissipator (from the days before RDS) has a 1:9 twist and definitely favors 55 gr bullets. I get stupid good results with 55 gr handloads using H335 powder. I get reasonable and affordable accuracy from Wolf Gold 55 gr rounds. I'd be happy to give you a few boxes to try before you buy if you'd like AJ. I've run a metric buttload of Wolf, Tula, Barnul, etc through it in classes and training.... while the accuracy is satisfactory for practice those steel cased rounds are still quite mediocre.

  27. You need one. I saw a used one in the gun store and had already said I would take it on picking it up, before knowing what it was.

  28. I already posted about that. I thought you were implying earlier Trump was going to have a change of heart when you said "let's see what happens when he figures out he screwed up". Trump doesn't ever admit he's wrong. That's not about to change now. But I'm glad to see the GOA and others challenging this.

  31. It's also not surprising that our most vocal Trump supporters are suddenly silent in this thread. Someone recently pointed out that during Obama's first 2 years we got the right to carry in National Parks. During Trump's first 2 years we get this #### sandwich. That isn't a compliment to Obama, just a fact. It was the GOP that snuck that into the bill he wanted to sign. I'll say it again, the GOP does a much better job when they aren't in power.

  32. Liars gonna lie.... The best thing that could come out of this would be if the NRA were to decide it would support candidates solely on the basis of their willingness to support RKBA, and with no regard for party affiliation. Tying the NRA to the Republican Party of today, which seems undecided on whether it wants to destroy the nation or just the party itself, is not a winning plan for the future.

  35. Anytime anyone asks about the "dangers of marijuana" I ask them when was the last time they saw a news story about a stoner beating their wife and kids. I just can't see a reason to prohibit marijuana when the negatives are available in legal options from tobacco and alcohol. Rep. Massie is spot on when he says Republicans missed an opportunity on this issue.
