  2. I spent all weekend, Thursday afternoon thru Sunday morning hunting some of the most pristine, beautiful, well managed & maintained hunting property in Bledsoe Co. The owner (a very good friend) has a a spectacularly well managed herd, very selectively harvested. I sat dark-dark Friday & Saturday, plus Thursday afternoon 1-5 & Sunday 5-11. Didn't see a Gee Dee thing. I got back to Tullahoma at 2, yesterday afternoon & figured i had time to put in a quick 90 minutes at a little craphole spot i have permission on. Filed the freezer with a limit of Does in 15 minutes, surrounded by old, burnt out fridges & trash. Go figure!

  4. As hard as it was to watch the UT game, I'm still very impressed at how far the program has improved. It's been a long, long dry spell if you are a Vols fan. This has been a fun season to watch. I hope they continue to improve. If I had known at the beginning of the season they would be a 10-2 or a 9-3 team at the end of the year, I would have gladly approved. Props to Vandy for what they've done too.

  5. Just got my first order in from Falcon Bullets. Very nice looking bullet and coating looks great. Has anyone tried them yet?

  6. A friend of mine killed a couple of hogs this morning. I swung by and helped a bit after physical therapy. Came home with a few lbs of sausage and a slab of back fat. Rendered about 5 pints of lard with the side benefit of fresh cracklin's and pork rinds. Momma says I stunk up the house. Smells delicious to me.

  7. Our newly elected Republican Super Majority House Caucus is doing its Annual Retreat this weekend up at Paris Landing. The Freshman Class will be set upon and told what they can and cannot do by the Old Timers League. No controversial bills first year, sit and listen, be inconspicuous and such, pay no attention to that Constitution, it is just words on a piece of paper. I plan on talking to my Rep. as soon as he is loose, as the agenda for the coming session will be the main focus of conversation. I suggest anyone interested in their Rights as identified with respect to arms do the same as soon as possible. Call your Representative's Nashville office and ask for their cell phone number (if you do not already have it) and a call back to talk about what was discussed at the retreat. It is after all, your business they hold in the palm of their hands...

  8. It seems like that should be good news since Vandy plays them Saturday, but man I hate that! I sure hope he still has a bright future in the NFL. He had one helluva season.

  10. Overall best .357 revolver: Original, pre-1980, Colt Python 4". Best trigger and balance: Pre-lock S&W Model 19 (Tend to get loose with a steady load of heavy .357 use. Under-rated: Colt MKIII Trooper. Not a Python, but pretty darn close! Best currently available new manufacture: Colt Python. Ruger certainly builds a durable revolver. Overweight and triggers are just OK. I won't touch a trigger lock S&W.

  11. UT has made some great strides in improving their team/system in the last two years. That said, they're still not in the elite class of CFB. Sure they beat Florida, so did Vandy, beat Alabama, good win but gave up 49 points. Smoked by Georgia & never showed up in Columbia. Great teams find a way to win, Ohio St., TCU & Michigan showed that yesterday. They're 9-2, great season so far, I hope they continue their quest for excellence. Hope Hooker & others injured recover completely & easily.

  14. Location is near Murfreesboro, west of Veterans/south of 840. Local pickup only, meet in my garage. Available most evenings and weekends. No trades. Please make it worth our while (like over $50?). Established members only who have the ability to PM. Prices are firm, I don’t need to sell anything, but would be nice to clear some space. Ferro Slickster with AR500 level III+ plates. Plates are lightweight curved shooters cut. Born on date for plates is 2016. Bought directly from AR500 in-store, so no knock off stuff here. Plates have the anti-spralling protectors. Rig is a few years old and has been used 10 or so times. It’s not stretched out and in excellent condition. Slickster is ranger green. I added FDE shoulder pads and other stuff to make it two tone. Specs in picture. Rig weighs 14 lbs total, although it feels much lighter for some reason. It’s really comfortable for a plate carrier. Included TN patch, Ferro triple AR mag pouch, Ferro pouch. Ready to go, add 3 mags, needs nothing. $260 AR Magazines 6 Magpul PMAG 30 round FDE windowed M3 new in wrapper $10 each SOLD 4 Magpul PMAG 30 round black windowed M3 new in wrapper $10 each 4 LEFT 10 black USGI 30 round w/Magpul anti-tilt followers $7 each Source Tactical Hydration Backpack. This one does have a burn mark on the divider from a suppressor, but is 100% functional and it did not go through the bag. $30 SpecOps backpack. Well used. Has a hard-ish backer in it to stay rigid. This thing is covered in webbing if you’re one of those gear guys (that I used to be). $20

  15. This is a rare mini-grip with the ARB and Old Man Emu etched onto the blade, it is 154CM steel. I carried it a few times but never cut anything with it as Im just not a fan of serrated blades. I liked the size, weight and feel of it enough that I bought another one with a plain blade that Ive carried everyday since. *Please note* the box that it will come in is from the plain blade one that I EDC and not original. *Now $90 TYD, cash, venmo or paypal (F&F preferred) as payment. I can also meet if close to Portland. *Added FREE Kershaw Hotwire that is new and unused.

  16. I have 3 cats from that as well. Wanted some outside cats for the shop so I took them in when they were dropped off as kittens by some scumbag. Being the sucker I am, they are sitting on the couch next to me right now. They get along good with the dog and can be pretty funny at times. Never thought I would be a cat person, but they have grown on me.

  17. Mista Garufa answered this one early in the thread. The best handling double action revolver ever built is the " K " frame Smith. We have several, including the unusual 3 inch round butt heavy barrel Model 13 variant. Nothing better for revolver carry. Nothing faster double action. If ya prefer single actions; nothing better than an older Ruger 357 Blackhawk, the original flat tops bein the best. leroy...

  18. It's what I expected, when I saw him go down. The mechanism was the classic scenario for an ACL injury ... True. I spent more than 30 years coaching high schoolers, and saw more than my share of injuries. You always hated it for the kids ...

  20. I recently put together a 350 Legend, it's been a ton of fun so far. It's especially interesting to me since I already load 357 and 9mm, lots of options to play with.

  22. I get trash I have to pick up because of people taking stuff to the dump several miles down the road. Sometimes it's an entire bag. I will always go through it. If I find an address, I unload their garage and everything else I've collected. I don't leave it in the bag though. If it's deer season, they get something extra.

  30. And 12 years and 11 seasons later, it ends ... This one proved to be somewhat prescient, but the deviations from the story ultimately seemed to be more about who left the show over time. Full disclosure, I never read any of the comics ...

  35. College football is like that... unless you're Georgia this year. Michigan should have lost, Ohio State didn't have a great game, TCU barely pulled it off..... But I'm sure we can all agree on one thing now: that the Washington Huskies are the most fun team to watch and we should all pull for them to win the Apple Cup next Saturday!!

  39. I think I've shared it before, but this was my grandfather's duty gun when he was a police officer back in the 60's. Smith & Wesson Model 19. He left it to my dad and I inherited it when my dad passed away. This is one of those guns that my kids will inherit one day, and hopefully their kids as well.
