Ahhhhh....... the old "one-last-minor-adjustment-before-the-long-journey-what-could-possibly-go-wrong?" scenario. So, now I have to rebuild the transmission. More of an inconvenience than anything, but I made a further rod for my own back by making one of those 'while you're in there, why not?' decisions. I'm upgrading the shifter drum & pawl, plus the centering pin & selector forks to the much improved versions from a 2005 Twin Cam. The original 5 speed is bulletproof, but it is known for having a couple of issues: the pawl can go out of adjustment very easily making neutral a pain to find, you also get false neutrals, especially between 2nd & 3rd & 1st & 5th also have bad overshift. The Twinkie parts literally cure all of that & make shifting much, much slicker & more positive with less pedal travel & no chance of going out of adjustment. I picked up everything I need for just over $200 on ebay. Now I must need everything to get here & I can buckle it all back up again.4 points

Ding...! Ding...! Ding..! We have a winner..!!! It was always about what Chuck said here --- " price out ( of ordinary citizen reach ) constitutionally protected activity "... The NFA was always patently unconstitutional, but it has lasted a long time. Here's hopin it is overturned for ever. leroy ...4 points

We call them Redeye Bass, but their real name is Roanoke Bass (Ambloplites Cavifrons). They are only found on three river basins in the world, Roanoke River, Tar River and the Neuse River. They can only be found on the upper reaches of these rivers because they need swift current and gravel beds to spawn. The world record is 2 lbs 10oz. The one in the picture is a young bull, they turn dark during spawning season.4 points

Considering the number of their guns that have gone on to be refined and produced by larger “more reputable” companies like Ruger and S&W, they’re basically an independent R&D skunkworks for the industry.3 points

An absolute travesty when someone who signs up to serve their country is let down by the equipment issued. Non-combat deaths are just as gutwrenching as the ones downrange. This Airman and his family deserved better. Any organization still using this pistol needs to wake up, fast.3 points

https://ky-leadernews.com/brayden-tyriq-lovan/ The obituary of the deceased. Since this is where the discussion of the topic has been, I figured this would be the place to put a face to it all. godspeed.3 points

Honestly, I think Sig should have to do a buyback on all 320s.3 points

I don't think that Chrissy Boy is thinking this one through too well. If he is harping on "It was never adjusted for inflation!!!!!!" and then you do and people see how exorbitant it would be NOW, then you strengthen the argument that it was never about generating revenue and was instead meant to price out constitutionally protected activity, just like poll taxes were.... That is NOT going to do well in the courts.....3 points

71 is too early for a normal person, but he put his body through a lot, and given his contemporaries, he had a lot more time than the odds may have predicted. It's going to be a complicated legacy for him personally, and in some ways professionally. But it's undeniable he was a cultural icon of Americana, and helped build up an industry from a regional sideshow into a national entertainment juggernaut. You simply cannot tell the history of professional wrestling without a lot of discussion regarding Hulk Hogan the superstar.3 points

This has recently been one of my " new " favorite quotes from Psalms. I found this again thru the Mountain Mule Packers, a benevolent and very lovely service bringing supplies to folks in remote places ( Think E Tenn and N Carolina flooding plus the recent Texas flooding here ). It is their guiding verse : Psalms 46:1-2 NIV ...[1] God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. [2] Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, ... leroy....3 points

Prescription glasses for shooting can be challenging. I wear progressives as my daily pair, and they don’t help much for shooting. Where I end up looking through the lens when shooting is at the long distance focus which makes it impossible to focus well on the front sight. For shooting at the range, I ended up getting a pair of single vision safety glasses with a modified prescription for the right eye that lets me focus on the front sight. I ordered these through Zenni. They have very reasonable prices on basic Z87.1 frames and lenses. My need was for range glasses where I can manage without having the full progressives. I don’t hunt, but if I did, I would just need to do my best with the progressives since that would require being able to see close, mid, and far at any given time. https://www.zennioptical.com SportRX is another I have used in the past for cycling goggles. https://www.sportrx.com/ .3 points

The recent events are tragic. I don't have much hope for SIG stepping up to do the right thing. May the Airman rest in peace.3 points

I suspect the coffin on the SIG 320/ M17/18 is about to be nailed shut. They’ll be bringing back the Beretta M9s from war reserve status, probably very soon.3 points

This sucks so bad. I've been following a guy that I think knows what's up with the 320. Im tempted to get a police trade it for $200 and see, but i don't know if i even want the thing in my home.3 points

They dropped TN years ago after TN started a two tier system. The new non-enhanced permit required less training and NM wasn’t happy about it.3 points

You are absolutely correct and I appreciate the update. Since I am a state instructor (inactive at this time) I still like being up to date. I did verify this with the Handgun Permit office in Nashville as well. So one footnote, if one is in the new age range and traveling, be sure and call and verify reciprocity with any state one is traveling through as they may not accept the new parameters. The Handgun office tries to keep the reciprocity list up to date, but as you pointed out, this is a recent change.3 points

The gun market is incredibly soft atm. Buyers market. Maybe too much production during covid, republican in office, less discretionary spending, maybe a mix.3 points

Did you make an offer? It drives me nuts when people ask me what my best price is after I've listed what I think is a fair price. The reasonable thing, in my opinion, is to make an offer and negotiate, or not, from there. Just my opinion.3 points

Just ask your eye doctor. I mentioned something about guns and my doctor said, said, "oh.. do you need specific shooting glasses? We do that. I have several patients who are high level competitive shooters." I wear contacts and don't do anything special, but the doc said single vision safety glasses are what they start with.2 points

My solution was single focal sunglasses in polycarbonate, non polarized Had an pair of Oakley frames from a prior 'script. Became a progressive user when I turned 50; do not have an issue with front sight or red dot focus comparing both pair of glasses.2 points

I did what I could, contacted both Senators and my Representative but obviously my opinion does not matter to them. As with most I am very disappointed that control of both chambers and the Presidency still does not give the Republicans enough nerve/strength/resolve etc. to represent the people that put them in office. The $200 was not my issue it is the government overreach. I suppose I will continue to hold my nose and vote for the lesser of two evils but it is so frustrating. Sorry for the rant.2 points
