He may very well see gays as sinful but it don't mean he is judging them, just stating what God's words said about the subject but he has said that he loves everyone and treats them the same as he would his own, which is "supposed" to be what christians are all about. Whether you believe his opinions of things or not, I applaud the man for stickin' to his guns and his God. Most folks don't have the balls for the conviction he has.
I do find one thing strange. The third page of the GQ interview online , is now gone. If I'm not mistaken, that's the page where he states clearly that he loves everyone regardless, and that's there's only one that can judge. Strange indeed
It's still there, I just re-read the entire piece... “We never, ever judge someone on who’s going to heaven, hell. That’s the Almighty’s job. We just love ’em, give ’em the good news about Jesus—whether they’re homosexuals, drunks, terrorists. We let God sort ’em out later, you see what I’m saying?” ... from page two of the article though. You can still find all 3 pages here... http://www.gq.com/entertainment/television/201401/duck-dynasty-phil-robertson?currentPage=2 People today seem to have an issue with good things that happen in the world. They must not be happy in their own lives and trying to bring those that are happy down with them. Hard to be upset with a man that's trying to save your life, if you ask me. Edited by Tedro2022

There's an official response on their site now.

http://duckcommander.com/news/robertson-family-offical-statement

Certainly doesn't sound like they will go on without Phil, and I don't blame them.

We want to thank all of you for your prayers and support. The family has spent much time in prayer since learning of A&E's decision. We want you to know that first and foremost we are a family rooted in our faith in God and our belief that the Bible is His word. While some of Phil’s unfiltered comments to the reporter were coarse, his beliefs are grounded in the teachings of the Bible. Phil is a Godly man who follows what the Bible says are the greatest commandments: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Phil would never incite or encourage hate.We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right. We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty. Again, thank you for your continued support of our family.

I agree with this in some sense, but you do realize the irony in that statement as well, correct?  Just because "your" group of people is losing its control over what people do and say and they are not being forced to make themselves like you, that now there is some major problem.  I don't buy it.  This country is still great, just go take a look around the world and tell me where else you want to live.

I agree with you. I have been observing the threads more than posting lately, but it seems that a lot of these guys are becoming what they most despise...whinny victims. The white christian male still rules this country and most of the world. Phil is not a victim and this country is not anywhere near being destroyed. You simply haven't had things your way for a few years.

Get over it just like other whinners are advised to do.

I have thought long about this. Phil Robertson has no business placing judgement on anyone. In Christianity I believe only one being makes judgement calls.

I am also sure that if you believe in God that you were created in his image, and that has a lot to do with why only God may pass judgement.

Phil woke up one day on third base and thought he hit a triple. Just another person out of tune with reality.

Calling sin what it is is not passing judgement.

He didn’t judge anyone. He was asked a question which he responded to. He didn’t single out gays he also included bestiality, those who sleep around, adulterers, the greedy, the drunks, the slanderers and the swindlers.

I find it interesting that if your beliefs aren’t in line with some on here you are a hater, bigot or dumbass.

Anyway, a line has been drawn in the sand. The issue is not an attack on gays it is an attack on a man’s personal religious beliefs. We will see how it pans out.

Thanks for judging my witts.

You're off base on this one Mike. He explicitly stated it wasn't his place to judge- it was God's.

Again- this was a classic set up by the magazine and not the first time they have done it.

While I was listening to Hannity yesterday on the way home from work a gay Mormon woman called into the show. She didn't think anything that Phil said was offensive. In fact, she said he spoke with grace and respect even though she didn't agree with everything he said.

I find it funny that the most "offensive" thing Phil said was a direct quote from the Bible. Let's Check the list sinners: idolaters, adulterers, drunks, slanderers, homosexuals, prostitutes, the greedy, swindlers Non-sinners: nobody Which of the above categories do each of us fit. I see at least 5 myself; that's without the prostitution. "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God"

I bet you nobody from GLAAD or whatever it's called goes down to Louisiana to speak to him about it face to face as they're all to scared to. But behind their keyboards and lawyers they're happy, happy, happy to raise as much a fuss as they can. Just like Phil said, love them for the people they are and let God sort them out. I have a few friends who are gay. I don't persecute them, I love them for who they are and share the good news with them. What they do, or have done, with it at that point is their business. All I can do is continue to love them and be there for them as a friend if they need anything. Seems America is farther down a road of intolerance than what I thought it was. And my bet is that she is representative of a large number in the LGBT population.

I find it amazing that there seem to be many who are self-appointed spokespeople for groups of people with whom they have no affiliation.

I'm going to have to unsubscribe to this thread!

Because my phone haas been going nuts all day and battery life is suffering :) I don't think I've ever seen a thread on here take off and maintain momentum like this one has.

George Zimmerman has this one beat!   ;)
