leave five minutes earlier whipper-snapper ;) I drive slow, not 30 in a 50 but less than 60 on the interstate on my work commute and never over the speed limit on surface streets. I used to haul ass. I discovered taking my time gives me less stress and does not even cost five minutes on a 20 mile commute. if it is me you are flipping off as you go by I will be the guy smiling and waving.6 points

This is what concerns me more... Where were all the supposed oath keepers? I've not heard about a single incident where a police officer or national guardsmen (there appears to be videos of ACU clad NG troops involved) refusing this unlawful order. And that should concern you a lot more than the fact they did it... that nobody said NO. You constantly hear people argue that the police and the military won't turn on the population, they will stand by their oath and follow the constitution, I think this goes to show those people are wrong, when push comes to shove, the vast majority of police officer (it would seem ALL of the hundreds involved in this action) will follow orders and violate the constitution. That is a much more chilling issue IMHO.3 points

I had the privilege of ROing the range part of the HCP class put on by the Cleveland Hunting Rifle & Pistol Club on Saturday. The students, and some of guns surprised me. Of the 28 students 15 were women. Some were wives, but there were single gals there as well. One young gal shot a pistol for the first time ever, her new 9mm Taurus. She obliterated the main mass of the target with only one flyer off paper, her 1st shot. As many women as men used Ruger & Browning .22 autos, the majority guns & caliber that I saw. That was a surprise to me. One wife didn't have a shot outside the 9 ring shooting a target Ruger .22. I saw one old perfect condition Colt Cobra that a girl used, and several single action .22 Rugers. One guy qualified with a post war, matching s/n, made in West Germany P-38 in 9mm. I qualified with a Colt .45 and did get some odd looks years ago. USMC, State Trooper and Cowboy backgrounds always have had me shooting big caliber guns. I had my wife, family and daughters shoot .40 Glocks or K frame .38 S&W revolvers. I was probably wrong pushing all of them to shoot the bigger guns. Everyone needs to shoot what they are most comfortable with, especially for a HCP range test. It was good to see so many young women deciding to get a HCP. After shooting we talked a lot about what & how women can carry now. It was a most enjoyable time and I would do it again. Cherokee Slim2 points

Hello All, I've recently relocated to the east in a little town called New Market. Beautiful area! Originally from Pennsylvania, the Navy moved me around quite a bit for 20 years, by this time, too much damage has been done in PA by the libs so I looked for something else, you guys did a great job keeping TN a great place to live, Thanks! The site has helped me to find training to comply with TN ccw law. Glad to be a part of it and look forward to crossing paths with some good people. SJC13402 points

I don't go under the speed limit, but I do like to leave a looong healty follow distance to the car in front of me. It's saved me more than once. People seem to not like it, so they pass me, pull up and then I back off again. I really don't see how being 30 yards further up and going the exact same speed is better. I watched one of those "I'm in a hurry" lane jumpers the other day. He was whipping back and forth across 4 lanes of traffic, jumping ahead. I watched him cross all the way back and forth 3 or 4 times. He never got out of my visual range the entire commute, while I sat in the same lane, poking along at the speed limit with my long follow distance. My conclusion: aggressive driving doesn't really gain you anything but an ulcer.2 points

Ha, I had a good one in Kentucky the other day. Dude is traveling in the left lane at a couple miles below the speed limit, and I'm traveling in the right lane about 10 mph faster than him; there is no one on the highway at the time. Since he doesn't believe in traveling in the right lane I'm forced to pass on the right. When I get about 50 yards from him he speeds up, making this whole process take longer. As I get next to him he matches my speed. There is a semi I'm coming up on and am forced to slow down and get behind this moron to get around the semi in the right lane. As soon as I get over this guy drops his speed 10 miles an hour and now I'm stuck behind him. I would really like to know what goes through these people's minds when they do this.2 points

We were already well far down that path. OBL and Al Qaeda were just the excuse the statists in our own midst were looking for. The Islamic terrorists are not our real enemy, our real enemy is us. As a nation, we have done this to ourselves. When our response to an act of violence/terrorism/war is to attack ourselves and the liberties that define our country and her people the way we did with the Patriot Act, the problem isn't them, it is us. When an attempted incident is thwarted and we start making people submit to sexual assaults to board a plane, the problem is us. Finally, when we have an attack with all of three fatalities and people call for the surviving suspect to be stripped of his rights as a citizen, put an entire city on "lockdown" and treat the citizens like they were inmates in a prison (where the term originated) there is no denying the problem is us. The majority of the people in this country have given up their rights and accompanying responsibilities as citizens in exchange for EBT cards and the assurance of a safety that can be never guaranteed. If you are able, and willing, to spend the full $1,200, in my opinion the end all 9mm is the CZ Custom Shadow Target. I have, and have owned, A LOT of 9mm, but this one is my absolute favorite and I will never part with it. 10 rounds, 10 yards, offhand is no problem to shoot a ragged hole. The fit and and finish of this CZ is second to none. My second choice would be my Springfield XD tactical. I've done quite a bit of work to mine, but the new XDm 5.25 Competition piece is sweet and very close out of the box to my custom. Here, I thought I should post the Shadow Target again just so everyone can drool.... :)1 point

Well Stainless looks like you only have 2 options to correct the grip issue on that fine looking gun. You could as Garufa has suggested by a grip sleeve and just continue to shoot the gun as is. I would not recommend this approach as I feel this just covers up the problem while failing to remedy the root cause of said grip issue. I think we both know this would not be the best course of action in the long run. After looking at your picture this appears to be a standard gen 3 glock that should not be giving any grip to hand contact issues. I suspect that all that is needed in this situation is my custom glock grip conditioning program. I have used this program with all my glocks and can say it has been 100 percent successful. I find that after completing the program none of my glocks hurt my hands at all. Stainless I am willing to offer you this program absolutly free just for the opportunity to let all our fellow tgo friends know about this new program. Stainless just send your glock to me along with 3000 rounds of fmj ammo and I will use my calloused hands to rework that grip into a grip that you will love. If after the first session I don't feel the grip is what you want you just send another 3000 rounds of fmj ammo and I will do another session absolutly free. My method does not require the use of sandpaper or other destructive methods used by other people to custom fit the grip to your hand. Stainless when you get your custom grip glock back you won't be disappointed. Just pm me for shipping details and I will even pay shipping cost to my house.1 point

I wore a Crossbreed Supertuck for years until I recently switched carry guns. I've been too cheap to buy another Supertuck, so far. Plus, I think I'd enjoy trying to make my own. I was inpired by Crossbreed to try this: Before assembly, I lined the kydex with pigskin to reduce the wear on my gun's finish: It didn't turn out too bad and is quite comfy, so I'm gonna try the IWB next.1 point

Hey guys, I picked up a "new" Mosin on Sunday. I'm really stoked about it being my first WWII-type relic. Sure, I'd love to have a Garand but those are a little out of my price range. I think this 1942 Izzy is in really good shape. The bore looks great and it came with all the goodies. It may not matter to everybody, but all the numbers match right down to the buttplate. Curiously though, it isn't a laminated stock. It's just the 2 piece with the dovetail on the bottom piece. Do the stocks get replaced in the refurbishment process? After a little chamfering of the bolt rim, it locks right in and I sent 5 rounds through the yard. Just got done with the quality time with the Hoppes.1 point

Cruz/Paul would be great. Initially I thought Cruz was ineligible because he was born in Canada, but the talking heads on the radio just discussed the same topic the other day and his mother was already a US citizen before she gave birth, so he is eligible. Rubio seems to have just about fizzled out, he had a lot of energy but didn't seem to have any direction. Cruz walked in with a set of titanium balls and sat them down on the table on capitol hill and laid down how things are gonna work. Even if he fails at some things which is bound to happen in the grinder up there, he stays focused on the exact issue at hand and doesn't fray from it one iota.1 point

Just let stupid people continue on. Next time, buy 20 years of ammo, and be comfortable. That is what I have done. Lessons learned from years of being in guns and shooting. This time I added reloading, so I am very secure with my ammo.1 point

I also remember my first Sunday in Basic Training, where church was mandatory the first week. That meant everybody regardless of faith had to sit through services. The following week the Drill Sergeant on duty that day told us that folks only had to go to church if they wanted, and those folks that didn't go would be taken to the pool. It was Ft. Benning, GA in June, so I opted for pool. After the formation of devout churchgoers were marched to the chapel the remaining DS had us form up in the grass and lay down on our stomachs. He then proceeded to hose us down while we were made to mock swim in the grass, in cadence. This went on for 15 minutes or so before we moved to the sand pit to be made into sugar cookies, then subsequently smoked for another half hour. Good times. I never missed a day of church for the rest of the time I was there. Looking back I remember that story with amusement. The Drills musta got a kick outa that one. However, I think about how I would have felt if I was a devout Muslim, Hindu, Morman.... probably would reflect on it much differently.1 point

actually I think the right move was to move the barrel away. but at the same time he needed to engage the robber physically. if the gun goes off you wont die, so you better be ripping his nuts off in the mean time. deflect the gun, and move into his personal space with a vengeance like he has never seen. No way I could stand still with that barrel up my nostril1 point

Since we are on peeves... Semi Drivers. Here I am kicking it down I40 at a respectable 78ish MPH, making good time and staying out of people's way who want to do 85. It never fails, two semi's in the right lane. The rear semi waits until I am within ten seconds of passing and they move on over to pass the semi in front of them. Now, they don't pass with any urgency, no, the guy passing is doing 66 and the guy being passed is doing 65. Why can't you do one of two things: speed up...or WAIT UNTIL I PASS! I mean, I will only be there for five seconds. No, we have to spend five freakin' minutes doing below the speed limit because you are an A'hole and can't wait five seconds. I travel a lot, and on a typical drive to Memphis and back, this happens a dozen times. Grrr!1 point
