  1. I expect it had more to do with the veritable DDOS attacks that gun owners were unwittingly unleashing on their site whenever Federal bulk packs and the like were in stock.   I seem to recall him saying something recently about the notification system being utilized recently far beyond the capacity it was designed to support.  I can appreciate them turning it down if it's not reliable.   That, and I can support them turning the volume down some - so to speak.  If you've got a bunch of gun owners reacting like Pavlov's dogs everytime they get a stock notification, this ammo shortage is going to last a lot longer than it needs to.

  3. The worse that would happen is they would arrest them...  If they opened fire on a crowd of demonstrators, it would spark something that would grow out of control in short order.  It would have a very good chance of ripping this country apart.

  4. Would be less aggressive and make the point better to just do an event like this with no weapons, yet carry something openly that is innocuous and harmless, yet highly illegal, like a high capacity magazine. Obviously they can't arrest thousands of people for brandishing a 30 rd mag, and it would make the point that arresting people for possessing a harmless piece of metal and plastic is silly. I think something like that would make the point better rather than having an armed march on DC. Plus the organizer is of questionable background.

  7. I hope it puts an end to the constant slow downs when surfing their website. I was shopping for some recoil springs the other day and it literally took me 20 minutes to get them added to the cart when it shouldn't have taken more than a few minutes. Constant slow downs.   I have zero problem with making all buyers, individuals and resellers, put a little effort into getting what they need. Maybe if these resellers have to spend a few hours a day searching they will quit. I also like the fact that it puts me on the same, level playing field as everyone else. It gives people who normally can't buy it before it is sold out, like the OP, a chance to actually find it in stock.   Now it is quite possible for the OP to click on an item and it will be in stock because there are not 25,000 people getting an email all at once saying it is in stock.   I see this as a good thing.

  12. New Rule Book is now posted on the IDPA website.   88 pages total.   On page 57 & 58 the classification times are now different.  The classification times for SSP have been shorten by about 10 seconds making it nearly the same as ESP.  This might be the area that brings the most comments from members.   OH..., and on page 5 they apply the incorrect rank of Colonel to Jeff Cooper.  He was a LtCol, USMCR - - - never got his Eagles.

  14. I volunteer with several animal rescues locally. I don't recommend the SPCA, they solicit for donations but shelter after shelter never sees the money they claim to be raising. Cnn did a follow on this program & this director woman who was under investigation for her previous organization for katrina dogs in komifornia. http://www.cnn.com/2012/06/14/us/animal-charity-investigation 95% of service dogs are adopted by their handlers. There is a waiting list usually of 300+ people to adopt from Lackland air. Some are euthanized for health reasons. Robby's Law ~2000 made a lot of changes to service dog regs. Most all service dogs from the military are brought back & accounted for. She was promoting dogs from a contractor, that the contractor claims to have adopted to nearby countries. Overall, I've seen little benefit from the spca. Id recommend 'military working dog adoptions', 'save a vet', 'operation military k-9' or 'US war dogs association'. There are dogs in need but I think the spca & this program do little to help them. Sorry. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2

  18. Here is what I just sent:   "I sincerely hope you had an enjoyable time today playing golf with the President. Even more so, I hope he did not succeed in swaying your vote for more gun control to his side of the aisle.  Americans are watching their leaders with an eagles eye these days Mr. Corker.  We are doing so because our needs go way beyond Conservative leadership.  Our needs are for STRONG Conservative leaders that will stand up to this White House administration intent on compromising our rights for their cause. We need strong leaders that will wage war against the criminals and for more CRIME control, Mr. Corker, not wage a war against legal citizens for gun control.  I am an avid sport shooter and so is my wife Mr Corker. We are not fools and would truly hate to see a first step taken to limit our firearms no matter how small that step is. We believe in the 2nd Amendment Mr. Corker. Not for sport shooting only, but in its original intent of protecting all the rest of our rights. No one knows the future Mr. Corker. There may be a future day when our kids will face a tyrannical government and need the right and means to fight against it.  If these rights are compromised now, they will not have a chance. Further, I'm sure you know you will lose the support of hundreds of thousands of Tennessee voters by voting for any more gun control bills in this push by the liberals as they fight law abiding citizens rather than criminals. This is a sign of an administration that wants control, not freedom. My wife and I are just two of hundreds of thousands of legal gun owners in this state that vote. Do the right thing and protect our 2nd amendment rights from the liberal charge against us."     Will it do any good?  I don't know, but it's better than doing nothing...right?

  19. In the words of the immortal Lewis Grizzard, "it's a trick General Sherman, there's two of 'em!" It's a ruse that both parties are in on - whether they realize it or not. It gives some credence to the old saying that if voting actually mattered they'd have outlawed it already.

  20. I actually got time away from work to fire up the forge today. I made this from a Made in the USA 1095 Nicholson file. It has an 8.5" blade, flat ground with convex edge, 12.5" overall. I'm gonna paracord wrap the handle instead of wood on this one. It will shave hair easily, and would make a great camping/fighting style knife. 21. Midway USA has ticked me off. As of today, they have disabled the notification system on most ammo. If you already have a notification in place, you will get that one when the product arrives, but you currently CANNOT re-new the notification.   With their system I had at least half a chance to buy some ammo at non-panic prices. Many times I got a notification, but wasn't near a computer at the time, and missed out on the opportunity... so what. big deal. my fault, not theirs. But now, I don't even have that opportunity. Nobody who has a life can sit in front of a screen 24/7, endlessly refreshing a web page in the faint hope that something will miraculously show as "in stock". Midway might as well just shut down the entire ammo section of their website until such a time that they have amassed as much ammo as DHS. Granted, Midway USA has done nothing wrong. They just changed their policy to make it a little harder for the average joe to buy ammo at standard pricing.   Guess after my remaining pending notifications are expired, I'll be camping out at Walmart with the "breakfast club" folks.   I guess pissing & moaning doesn't really help the situation, and I may be venting over something trivial. But it's just one of those little things that gets my goat. I sent customer service an email on the matter, I'm sure I'll get a canned response-- I can't be the only person miffed by this development.

  29. Adding to what 101 said:   I make it a point to be unfailingly polite and courteous to people in town. Never EVER walk, talk, or act like a fool. Don't raise your voice or do something negative. Hold doors open. Smile at people. Act almost like you're running for office, minus the ridiculous politics.   I went to IL for business about a month ago and on the way back, OCed through Kentucky. We stopped to eat and I got a curious look from another person in the restroom. Turns out he was from IL and had no idea that people elsewhere could carry at all, much less OC. He was pro-gun. We ended up having a great conversation about weapons and target shooting. Now that he knows that he doesn't have to have a permit to OC in KY, guess what he'll be doing next time he passes through? :)

  32.   That brings up another point.... does everyone have to re-classify now?  And what happens if your score would move you down?... since you aren't allowed to move down a class except for special circumstances....   If they were going to mess with the classifier anyway, they should have removed the tac-load/RWR stuff.  It's crazy to discourage "on-the-clock" fool's loads, and then put them on the clock in the classifier.

  35.   So a tricked out 1911 in 9mm making 125.1 PF with all the allowed mods only gains you about 2 seconds worth of advantage over a 90 round course of fire. I forsee alot of new ESP shooters if this stays as is.

  37. It was good enough for Osama so do the same with him. Drop him from a few thousand feet above sea level and feed the fish. Or maybe use him as feed at a local pig farm. Then make a public announcement that he was a radical jihadist and that any other radical jihadist caught doing harm to the US would share the same fate.   All those Muslims who claim they are peaseful and not affiliated or support any radicalized Muslim should not be bothered by any of this. Those that actually are radicalized are going to be easy to pick out to suffer the same fate.

  39. RL15 (or actually it's military surplus equivalent (Long Range Match )) is one of my favorite powders!    It's fantastic in 308 and I like it even more than the venerable Varget.   The hard part with 223 is that it's powder is in cylinder form.  It makes it harder to dispense through a powder meter.    I guess if you hand weigh each one, then that's fine.    I found it slightly more accurate than WC844/H-335 but only marginally.

  44. It depends, If your life is in danger yes, by all means if you have a clear shot shoot the perp( but like others said) drop mag, clear round and lay flat on the ground and make no threatening moves.     Say if a cop is pinned down by a crazed shooter, I'd do everything in my power to save his/her life. If I had a clear shot. May have to be treated as a suspect( drop gun, mag and clear round and be unthreatening). But I'd do it.
