So I was installing a water line today at a very old, backwoods house and dug up something intresting. Its an 1851 Colt Navy pattern cap and ball. I disassembled it to a degree at lunch, it is complete except for the grips. Just thought Id share the coolest thing I ever dug up. My guess is its a reproduction, but not sure how to tell. It was a good 2 ft in the ground. Tapatalk ate my spelling.6 points

He has a cool pattern and bright green against the black. I wish I would have had a better camera handy. I hope that's the last snake I see for a long time though. I moved him to the field behind my house.3 points

All I can say is when that guy in the White House Promised Change he meant it and now the people that voted for him are seeing it. I hope they are happy with his change and I hope everyone that voted for change gets to experience it. Thing is I kinda liked the way it was before his change but I guess I was in the minority huh?3 points

Couple of my friends and I decided to make the drive to Georgia last week and visit as many of the film locations we could find. We managed to see a bunch of them. Some of the locations are off limits like the farm house which is privately owned, the prison is actually a studio set and the rock quarry is owned by the city of Atlanta and is posted. Other than that we seen a bunch. It's cool cause some of the locations are far apart but seem like they are just around the corner on the series and some are really close but seem far away in the series. We did visit "Woodbury" which is actually Senoia, GA. It was pretty fun driving the back roads of Georgia looking for these places. They have an app called GA walking dead tours and it's a do it yourself help guide. The town of Senoia is actually home to a bunch of different films and TV shows. We plan on going back soon and finding the new season locations and some we missed. In these pics I took a pic and combined it with either the scene pic from the movie or a pic that represents what it is. If you have seen the show you will know most of them. http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377955205429_zps97ecbaa4.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377996529299_zps84621ee0.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377996456966_zps8379e9a7.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377996415678_zps4b4cb508.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377996415678_zpsdfdf0546.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377995812996_zps596ec840.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377995656880_zpsfa6ea842.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377995415753_zps2bf9382e.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377994637659_zpsf5ea872a.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377994423355_zpsd0c92b2e.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377994143389_zps71d91692.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377990001880_zps9554e65d.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377982982894_zpse4ce0c9c.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377982935360_zpsa5e4cc7c.jpg1 point

I can shoot it but can't sell, trade or give it away. This is a 1954 made Savage 24 .22LR/.410. It has had one shot fired through it back in 1954. Note the hang tag. This was what my father in law gave my mother in law for a wedding present! My MIL gave it to me to keep. FIL has been deceased 3 yrs.1 point

It was in the paper recently of the local fire department doing some dive training at a (small) lake here and they turned up a dozen firearms. I'm considering putting a couple of magnets in my tackle box.1 point

Good rifles for what they are but they are not what they built it up to be. In my opinion, you would be much better off going with a newer Savage model 10 or a Remington 700. If I was choosing between these two I would choose the Savage hands down, the Rem. 700 is a great rifle but you would have to buy one and throw a good chunk of money at it in order to have as good of a trigger and bedded rifle as you get with the Savage right out of the box IMO.1 point

Interestingly, you will find a lot of honor and honesty amongs the folks who have the least. My cynical theory is that the poorer folks who are dishonest tend to get ahead faster (thus escaping poverty in favor of jail or success).... Seriously, though, a good story with 2 good deeds. Well done!1 point

Absolutely not! I actually love hearing stuff like this. What leaves me speechless is the dumb***es out there that believes crap in their head like this! Who in their right mind would mentally rape that, well, that thang? The best she could hope for would be to tie a porkchop around her neck to elicit a response from the neighbors dog! I can say that over the years I have seen some fine examples of female human flesh that my eyes may have undressed a time or two, but I have never telepathically raped them. This story is so bizzar that I just can't fathom it. Recon they enjoyed it? DaveS1 point

For those of you who missed it, Sen. Ted Cruz in his filibuster against funding Obamacare, just read "Green Eggs and Ham" to the gathered august body of blowhards. His punchline was perfect: "I do not like Obamacare with a fox in a box, or with a mouse in the house." That's putting it on their level. :rofl:1 point

We always tip if there is good service, if not, we don't. But we also try to remember that a lot of times the issues are the fault of the kitchen and not the server. And sometimes if the food is just awesome, we'll throw a 20 directly to the chef. Have also went with a group and had a great server, we folded up a 50$ really small and laid it under a 1$ bill. Was funny watching her pick up the 1$ and looking pissed off, then I think she thought it was a 5$ under. Then she unfolded it and started crying. It was funny watching someone go from pissed off to content to excited in like 5 seconds.1 point

I think a lot of you are underestimating the number of hours a server works too. By the time you include getting to the job on time, going through line up, reviewing the menu/specials, setting up, working, closing down, doing side work, etc....you're looking at an easy 8 hours. I haven't worked in a restaurant since 2005 but I can't imagine that its changed that drastically. I worked in one of the better places in Memphis and that job was no joke with regards to the stress of dealing with people and the managers. Waiting tables is not easy. Again, you can recognize someone who has worked in a restaurant before. They recognize the difference between BS excuses and good work. And they tip accordingly.1 point

First mistake is to use The Blaze as a source of legitimate news. Second, the First Amendment is not an absolute right, just like the other rights specified in the Constitution. When I was a LEO in Florida, we regularly confiscated political signs from city rights of way without "leaving a note." We also confiscated real estate signs and yard sale signs. If the sign was in someone's yard, we tried to notify the homeowner. Cities, like it or not, generally have a certain right of way on property extending in from the roadway. If I recall correctly, in Panama City, FL it was 3 feet. The logic is to prevent multiple signs from blocking the view of motorists and causing a general nuisance. If the city has such an ordinance, signage is not permitted within that distance from the roadway. It's obvious the guy had been contacted about the issue and continued to put his sign where it was allegedly not permitted. I also enjoy all the ignorant posts suggesting this incident is a sign of the impending apocalypse. :panic:1 point

This has been discussed many times and back when Obama threatened to sign it the Senate told him then that they will never ratify it and you can bet they won't sign it with Kerry either. And I do think Kerry does not have the authority to sign it and has over stepped his authority and should be charged with Treason for his actions..........jmho1 point

Just because I'm getting screwed by the IRS doesn't make me bitter about it enough to help them screw somebody else. I wholeheartedly support anyone in their efforts to avoid the legal plunder, the outright theft that is our tax code.1 point

Been posted for some time. Personaly don't see the draw, my sister makes better biscuits and the rest of the food is on par with a Cracker Barrel IMO. It's kind of cool to bring out of state visitors too, but even then there are better places. Places that also aren't posted. It seems that the new owners have really let the place go from its past, what was once a nice downhome eatery is now basically a tourist trap.1 point
