1. At that price I'd sooner shoot spit balls or blow guns. That comes out to about $0.16 per round after tax, even more if you have to drive out of your way to get there. Crazy. I can reload 9mm for about $0.08 per round, and buy new 9mm for about $0.21 per round.

  3. TGO is a loyal, if skeptical bunch.  I can only say that I hope people have long memories of who their friends were when times got tough.   Of course, that's assuming something else doesn't happen and we talk to our grandchildren about 2014 like it was the good old days...

  5. Yeah, they are hit or miss on pricing.  This is definitely a miss.  Almost 1,000 bricks.  If they wanted to draw customers they should have done it for $35/brick and put your name on a list and you can only buy one in 30 days, and no family buys.  900 people would have been lined up out the door, and after they got their brick they could walk around the shop.

  7. All I can say is that I am glad we pay a higher sales tax and no income tax, it makes the welfare, drug dealers, under the table workers pay part of their share. I would pay a higher sales tax to do away with Federal Income Tax.

  8. they can kiss my butt.   I expect gouging out of the gun show resellers.  Not legitimate businesses.  That is no way to do business.   I work for a guy who had made a fortune off of fair and solid pricing.  He does not gouge even when the door is open to do so, (ie: Pappy)     Screw these guys,  I wish no one would buy it.

  11. I got a call today. I was informed that they have changed the policy for the 22lr in this district. I was also told that the employee was reprimanded and that this will never happen again. I am pretty pleased with the way it was handled. I will be giving them another chance. I am still waiting on a follow up call from the LP manager, I was told he will call me before the weekend.

  12.   This is so true. I drive past 3 gun shops to do business at D&T because they have treated me so well in general and especially as a member of TGO.

  13.       I love this stereotype. Do many of us do ok finanically, sure.  I think you will find that many of us are as discriminating as anyone when it comes to guns and ammo.  The people that are buying the ammo at this price aren't "gun" people.  They are simply people who have a gun and may happen to have a little more money (or not).  It's the same in Franklin, Nashville, Knoxville, or anywhere else.     By this standard, everyone who lives in or near Memphis is a drug dealing murderer.

  14. Isn't the Franklin/Brentwood area the type where consumers generally throw money around without asking questions?  I'm no expert on Middle TN but was always under that impression.
    2 points
  15. I really do wish them success.  We need fewer gun stores not less.   That said, it's so interesting to me that every gun shop in the Franklin/Brentwood area in recent years has seen no benefit in being a part of the TGO community.  This is a highly loyal bunch, and we've had some great vendors that understand that (Hero Gear of old, G&L, D&T, etc...)  I guess that says more about the community they(we) live in than it necessarily does about any of them, but I don't see how it's going to work out for them in the long run.   You can only gouge your customer base for so long before most of them go somewhere else.

  16. I appreciate the heads up from OP. Having said that I won't be back in everything weapons. They can choke on the 2 pallets at that price. Wonder why Brentwood/ Franklin can't have a good gun shop? Thank goodness for our local forum sponsors!

  17. My post has been changed. But I will not set foot in their store.

  18. I hope they choke on every last round and go out of business.  Even the gunshow douchebags only charge $50 bucks for it, assuming this is the Scorpion brand.  Regardless, if I am ever in that part of town I can guarantee you I will not be stopping by, and I love going to gun stores when travelling about the state.

  19. So, as I have no dog in this fight ... One complaint and every other comment and review I've read has generally been positive and this business is blackballed by so many? I guess this is the bad side of internet communities or mobs (depending on topic) ;).   No doubt Caster's experience was accurate but if it is inconsistent with others, could it be the fellow was having a bad day? Maybe he had a fight with his wife that day and needed a "win"? Maybe he just encountered an idiot first time reloader who threatened to sue him when he stuck a 300 Blackout in a 5.56 chamber and blew up his gun?   Just giving a separate perspective from the tar and feather fervor that seems to be the default. Put it in the memory banks and if it proves to consistent then it proves to be a problem. Otherwise people are people and even business owners have bad days. Especially when the gun market is so volatile right now. We need more sources not less.

  20. The Washington Post The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consulafft, at Bergen , Norway. Reports from fishermen, seal hunters, and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone. Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes. Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm. Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared. Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds. Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coastal cities uninhabitable. * * * * * * * * * I apologize, I neglected to mention that this report was from November 2, 1922, as reported by the AP and published in The Washington Post - 90+ years ago.
i would go with a ford. i would go with the f250 diesel. with the diesel you get better mpg. i get around 21 mpg with my f250 diesel driving 75 plus on the freeway. around town i get 19 mpg. drop a 20 foot trailer behind the truck and i can not tell it is there. yes i know diesel fuel is higher than gas, but i get better mileage. my f250 get better mileage than my f150.
Have you got the famed 7.3 diesel, the 6.0, or the newer 6.4? The 6.0 diesel they have had a ton of problems out of with heads warping or something like that. I know it involves the heads in some way. In a lot of f250 ads that have the 6.0 they will state that an egr delete and arp head studs have been put in, which solves the problem i guess

  38. It's a crap bill for an employee who still gets fired for storing his/her gun in their vehicle but at least they can't be arrested for it. I think it's a better than nothing bill, meaning some places I go and park, at least i'm not violating a law that I can be arrested for if I store my handgun in my vehicle unless it's federal property.

  41. Dave, I'm not sure who you're talking about, but I hope you can understand the difference between believing he was innocent and "supporting" him. I believed he was innocent from the beginning, but I've never waved a flag for him. I hope you and others understand a person can believe in his innocence and not have any other connection to the guy, because from reading your posts you don't. Simply because you believe he was innocent does not mean you approve of everything he does

  42. as far as I know Jones has gone by JJ forever.   The sign on the road pointing someone towards the jail has "Jimmy JJ Jones" on it as well.    If not all of the rest of you Knox residents got the letter he may be sending it only to people like me who took their permit course through the sheriff's office program for HCP's. I would guess they kept a database of people who took the course there.   as for the cost of mailing it is not 49 cents per piece.  The stamp is from a Pitney Bowes machine and is marked as presorted standard, cost 21 cents.   The only thing I found odd is that my permit does not expire for well over a year from now.

  47. I use a Fenix LD 41 (520 Lumens) and a Fenix LD 20 (180 Lumens). Both use AA batteries and have not given me any trouble. I keep rechargeables ready but battery life is longer with alkaline. I have a weapon mounted Streamlight TLR 1 too which has been reliable also. The Fenix lights seem to be cheaper but quality wise they are comparable.

  48. Just as an observer and a former owner of a gun shop.  These small businessmen better catch up to social media and forums such as TGO.  They will make you or break you. The value stream from these outlets are REAL.  People look, read, listen, etc. and form opinions without testing a product or stepping foot on their property.   I know I recently read that many physicians are complaining that anyone can post anything about them on internet review boards, true or false, and it is having a sizable impact.  Physicians are on to something because it is impacting their pocketbook.  Besides Physicians do have a reputation about being a little sharper than most tools in the shed.    Litmus test, how many of you read the reviews of items on Amazon?  Ebay sellers on Ebay?  How many you of grumble when you buy something on line, then days later after receipt they want your opinion of your purchase, rating, comments, and etc.  I now noticed Midway does that like Amazon.  I find myself leaving feedback because I appreciate what others have done before me.   Maybe I am the geek, but I read reviews all the time, its just part of my due diligence.  Caster's reviews of reloading equipment was extremely valuable to me 6 months ago.  Just my Saturday 6am 2 cents, I need coffee.
