How that place is still in business is beyond me.

There is only way to stop it, sadly the American People no longer have the stomach for tar & feathering, let alone any counter-measures that would go beyond that.

We are just better at hiding the fact that we have LOTS of firearms and know how to use them.

The smaller one is basically a bush knife. Total length is about 8 inches and the blade is about 4 inches. It features file work and jimping on the spine and a stone washed finish on the blade. It really came out good. The scales are black canvas micarta and cocobolo wood backed up with a white liner to contrast the stone washed finish and has two stainless steel pins. The blade itself is made from 3/16" thick 1084 carbon steel and was professionally heat treated to a 59-60RC. The larger one would be considered a tactical knife I suppose. Total length is about 11 1/2 inches with the blade being about 6 1/2. It has a bit of larger jimping on the thumb rise near the handle and a lanyard hole and glass breaker at the rear. It also has an extra finger grove on the steel just rear of the ricasso which adds more control for close in work. It's made from 3/16" thick 1095 carbon steel and has green canvas micarta scales with bright orange liners and stainless steel pins. It was professionally heat treated to a 59RC. I've very happy with the way these turned out overall. I learned a lot with these blades and am confident they are built well, heat treated to the steels capabilities and will last as long as any knife out there. I hope there is a shitload more of these stories coming out over the next few months... all the way until election day.

This is not news.  Its just that it takes some big old nads to say the truth, which can be summed up in 2 statements:   - poor areas have a lot of crime and violence.  This includes inner city ghettos and suburban trashy areas and even rual trailer parks.  The nature of cities being a large population,  the # of shots fired will, therefore, be highest in the city ghettos, even if the %s are similar with rual poor areas.   - poor people in these areas are often hooked on government "aid" and therefore vote democrat.   Problem is that saying the above gets the idiots to go haywire trying to censor the person saying it with cries of "racism" or "victim blame" or other nonsense.   There is no need for a study and if they do one, the results will be as expected.   Human nature is quite predictable:  humans are generally a sorry lot of mean SOBs that are prone to violence..... this surprises no one.   Take a group of humans with nothing to lose, and much to gain, what you think is gonna happen?   Hats off to captain obvious and his well written piece -- I wish him the best as he bucks the censorship machine!

Glad no one was hurt.    I have to stress this --- be nice, but tell folks.  He probably had no idea his shots were doing that, a gentle "excuse me, ..."  can lead to a positive response and maybe help everyone be safer.   Or if uncomfortable talking to the shooter, there has to be someone there who took your $$ or something (?) to complain to.  Holding out pieces of bullets that hit you will get someone to lend you an ear....     Sometimes ppl don't know, sometimes they don't think, once in a while they don't care but more often its just a mistake.   I hit a friend once (piece of a target came back and cut his arm).   Learned that steel is just not worth the "fun" of shooting at.  I will never again shoot at hard metal that is not part of a validated target system designed to be shot.

I personally think every 18yr old should be required to volunteer with the local rescue squad where they live. Nothing tamed my driving faster and scared me into wearing my seat belt regularly than helping recover a victim's body ejected during a crash. I remember telling my grandmother how hard it was mentally, and she stated that it used to be worse and showed me some crash investigation pics my grandfather had from his days with the THP before seat belts were commonplace, made me really glad to at least have the option of wearing a seat belt. :ugh:

Reason number 2000 i'll will not visit that city, wont spend one dime there to support their economy. Pretty much the same reason I wouldn't have visited Paris during the Nazi occupation. Selling .22 ammo at those prices is one thing, but expecting expecting us to buy their line off bull is another. While I may not know how much they paid for the ammo, after talking with a couple people in the know, I have a strong reason to believe at least some at EW are not being completely truthful about the .22 they are selling. They don't owe me/us any explanation, but if they are going to give one, I'd prefer it be an honest one.

The first case would have been a good test case for the Tennessee Firearms Freedom act on the suppressors. Of course selling a firearm to a convicted felon hosed him beyond repair.

Happens a lot, there have been several of us here go through it. Is there a chance there is something in your past that doesn’t have a disposition entered in the record? It doesn’t even have to be a disqualifying charge. I don’t know how it can get flagged one time and not the next; but it does.

Getting hit with range splatter is the norm as opposed to the exception at Gun City.    We've got so many good ranges nearby.  Why go and deal with the safety issues, much less the air quality issues?

Gun City has a reputation as a range that shoots back at ya. I don't shoot there anymore for that reason as I've had something similar happen to me.

I put a GG&G modular forearm on my rifle about 10 years ago.  You just bolt on rail sections wherever you need them.   Keymod is literally an groundbreaking advancement in the shape of... holes.   :rofl:

The 50/50 stat in no way accounts for how many of the 50% would probably be alive today if they WERE wearing their seatbelt. For example, if 1,000 people were killed, and exactly 50% weren't wearing their seat belt, i.e. 500, how many might still be alive if they were? 100? 200? In addition, it doesn't take into account how many people were NOT killed because they WERE wearing their seat belt. I can say with complete confidence that the numbers would be greatly skewed in favor of those wearing seat belts. Not only that, it has been shown, through statistics, that you're something like 85 times more likely to die being ejected from a car during a crash than if you are not. And the only way to ensure you are not is by wearing a seat belt. Like you said, that isn't anecdotal, it is statistical. Really what you are saying is exactly the same as the gun grabbers who say you're 2.5 times more likely to be shot with your own gun than use it in self defense because they discount self defense uses that don't result in death, which are the majority. Seat belts (and guns) save lives. Plain and simple.

  This is so far an anomaly, it's like arguing for parachuting without a parachute based on the handful of people that live after a complete malfunction. Or to hit a little closer to home, it's like arguing that only a moron would carry a gun because some people have survived dangerous encounters without them.   I believe the government should not mandate that an adult wear a seat belt if he doesn't want to, but anyone who doesn't needs their head examined, plain and simple. There is just not a single sound argument for not wearing a seat belt. Anecdotal evidence does not a sound argument make. See the parachute argument above.

With 9mm it's really not so much crimping. You have to slightly bell the mouth of the case to set the bullet in. Then your seating die needs to be set so thet it seats the bullet and remove that slight bell. The 9mm round is a slightly tapered round and not a straight wall round like a .38.

I haven't read all of this. Too much bickering and whining.   I just got home from vacation. On that vacation, the widow of a close friend spread his ashes over the mountains of East Tennessee. She is a young widow because her husband was doing his job to keep the people travelling through Jackson Mississippi safe. As he was putting a gas grill someone had dropped on the interstate into his cruiser, he was struck and killed by an inattentive driver.    I will say this, there ain't a lot of a chance that I could get killed in a similar fashion doing my job. Though anything is possible.   What I do have to say is a simple 'Thank You,' to anyone and everyone who does something to put someone else above themselves. No matter the profession.

Tag for when I get home and look up my data. I'm using IMR 4064 for all of my 308 loads. Looks like on the 178 gr amax bullets I'm using 42.4 grains of IMR 4064 Federal 210 primers and an OAL of 2.800". It has been very accurate out of my savage model 10 fcp-sr 24" 1-10 twist. 100 yard 4 and 5 shot groups of 0.5" and smaller.

  I'll put my Colt up agin yer six 1911s.  It has never been modified and has never failed to fire. Back to the OP.....I would select a 45acp for my side arm but probably not a 1911.  I love my Colt 1911 but like they say "Steel is ideal but plastic is fantastic." I'd go with a polymer pistol with a double stack magazine.

  Arresting someone, giving them a criminal record, monitary fine and jail for a shotgun shell and a bullet for a muzzle loader goes far beyond idiocy, it's really a lowlife thing to do to a person. Obviously the DC/DA and judge involved don't care about causing unjustified grief to a person just to show that they are in control over them in any way they personally choose.

Why everyone should always carry a knife.

   .22lr ammo is the only ammo that places can get away with heavily gouging on at this time. A lot of otherwise decent gun shops have fallen prey to the .22lr price jacking temptation and maintained reasonable prices on other items. I'm not saying that there's no way that they paid $75 per brick and were "just passing it along" as a favor to the shooting public but I find it rather hard to believe that if they had normal to no margin that they would take a $15-$20 lick just because of a bit of bad press. Assuming that they are now selling it at THEIR purchase price they were taxing folks at $20 per whack on something that is known to be a touchy matter so they were at minimum short sighted. I also might could believe that they are taking a $20 hit just to save face if it were a few bricks but I can't get my mind wrapped around them taking a $20 per brick hit on 2 pallets worth.   But we're not the biggest losers in this deal (we didn't buy any) think about the folks that saw them post the Armscor for $75 per brick on Facebook and went down and purchased it because they were out and had no other options for their kid(s) only to see them post it for $20 less the following week. Kind of like getting slapped in the face twice over one purchase.  I will completely agree with you on the fact that no one is twisting anyone's arm to buy it. I love the free market (or at least as free as the government allows) but the free market includes folks right to bring awareness to overpriced goods so as to provide the uninformed shopper the knowledge that this is not a reasonable price.

  Many of them might be alive today if they were wearing their seat belts and the state would be lower.   I know for a fact that a seat belt has saved my life, less than two seconds after I put it on. That was when I was twelve. I have not been without one in a passenger vehicle since.

I agree. If a few beers makes you unsafe to be around a gun, you were already unsafe to be around a gun before you drank the first one.

A dull knife hurts a lot more than a sharp knife. You can cut someone with a very sharp knife and they will not feel it. A real clean slice will bleed more and not hurt as much, but a dull knife will tear the skin more damaging more nerves. Razor blades are a good example, I know people that have cut themselves with a razor blade and not know it until they see the blood.
