First, let me say that I'm a dog lover. Most problem dogs aren't the problem; just like problem children. It's almost always the trashy, dirtbag parents. I have a route I run regularly, and have to pass by this house in order to get to that route, as I live in a no outlet neighborhood. This person regularly lets her dogs run loose despite hollering loudly at their dogs to get them to back off while they're chasing me down the road. They're not overly big dogs, but that isn't the point. Also, I jog with my dog, who happens to be highly trained and will ignore stimuli from other dogs. So they've been a nuisance in the past, but today one of them was able to lunge and connect with the ankle of my dog. I kicked at it and it let go before I could give it a good boot, but now I have the issue of wondering what kind of diseases this dog carries, since obviously the owners does not take care of her pets. I don't understand why it is so hard for people to secure their pets. This is a neighborhood, not a trailer park. Beyond the issue of wondering if their dog will attack passersby, how about worrying about your dog getting run over??? I don't get these folks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

She made the top fold/front page of today's Sunday edition Murfreesboro Daily News Journal! Huge photo of her with her Sig (lady pictured in the purple shirt), and a nice (albeit "rare") pro-firearms article in a Gannett paper... She's definitely a keeper-- never have to worry about getting "nagged" for buying a new gun or ammo... Guns are a family thing around here... and she's an absolute dead-eye with a pistol. She started a chapter of "The Well Armed Woman" in Murfreesboro back in January, and has been very pleased with her success. here's a link to the article: http://www.dnj.com/article/20140601/LIFESTYLE/306010029/Well-armed-women-More-females-receive-carry-permits-attend-classes-gun-safety Of course, the usual milktoast whiners are all in a tizzy in the comments section of the article. I laugh at them.2 points

It was concealed, so I lean toward dick move especially if he works at a gun store. Unless you were drinking, then I would probably bring it up as well. Otherwise, it doesn't get a second thought. I am guessing he was just trying to impress someone with his eagle eyes.2 points

Sorry about that. It only happens when I use my cell phone. It's one of the reasons that I don't post more during the day. I'll square it away asap.2 points

I don't want this thread to turn into gory pictures we've come across on the net, we can all find those easy enough. Just post your own mishaps please.2 points

Most people would piss themselves if they were part of a live fire room clearing had they not spent a lot of time training for it. It is all about the training and the training is what leads to trust.2 points

Not a good way to influence people on this site, my friend. Many of us have been to a real shootin' war, and don't care for another, unless it's forced upon us. So don't come in here throwing around that 3% BS and thumping your chest and looking down on us "fairweather ppl". As long as we still have free elections to elected our own "dumbass" politicians, we still got a free country. We aren't close to the point of a rebellion yet.2 points

I'm going to play devils advocate here. All this talk about safety and breaking 180 blah blah...is all very sensible. But, There's a good chance that the same folks saying how stupid and unsafe this might be, are the same people who walk out in front of a moving car in the Walmart parking lot fully expecting (trusting) a complete stranger to stop his moving 3600 lbs. bullet. Or they will Jay walk when the hand is red trusting that a complete stranger will be paying attention enough to slow down or stop and give them the right away and not get killed!? I understand the need for being safe. But why do people not trust other people with a gun in their hand but will trust the exact same person to be a fully competent driver operating a much larger and more deadly machine than a gun?2 points

Well, went to the range this morning. Had two guns to shoot I bought but had never shot. First one was the M four 22lr I bought from Jonathan. Gun performed flawlessly and was dead on at distance he said it is sighted in at. Disappointed in myself. It has been years since I shot a long gun without a Bi-pod in sitting position and it only took one magazine to remind me of why. First magazine dead on at 50 yards and every round center mass. By the end of first magazine shoulders were killing me with pain. I put in second magazine and had to quit shooting half way through it because of shoulder pain and could not hit center of target. Rested shoulders and finished 2nd mag. Got out bi-pod and sat down with third magazine and new target. 25 rounds could cover hole with half dollar center mass. Great gun, broken old man shooting. Also shot a LCP I have bought and never shot so moved target to 15 feet and went through 2 mags 14 rounds all in the red so will be keeping that one for my Get Off Me pocket gun. Now have to decide what to do about M four 22lr since I will not beat myself up trying to shoot it. Getting old sucks!!!!! ..................... :ugh: :ugh: :ugh:1 point

Well in all reality, we should all look at life this way. I am only in my 40's and am not scared to die. If you are you should look at your life. I would probably say the same thing, if someone had the jump on me and I was looking for an opportunity. JTM We the People of the United States, in order to form a more Perfect Union......1 point

If you do this, please do it only to a Taurus, Rossi, or the like. I occasionally buy a Colt or Smith and Wesson, and would really hate to discover this modification/trashing performed on an otherwise quality revolver.1 point

Haha! Last nice knife I got, I immediately went and cut something... my left index finger, and 1" long and pretty deep. However, it was a beautiful and clean cut with zero tearing. It bled very little and I just folded the fresh filet back down and it healed quickly with no scarring. It hurt a little, but it was such a beautiful thing it didn't even bother me! Yea... I'm crazy I guess. :/1 point

Many moons ago, I was delivering a pizza to woman in a really nice neighborhood. As I got within 5' of the front door, a 120+ lb Rottweiler came around the corner of the house toward me. He/she got a snoot full of pepper spray and ran back around the house. The lady who answered the door smelled the lingering odor and asked me if I could smell it too. All I cared about was getting a tip, so I played dumb. Point is, she knew her big a$$ dog was loose and knew I was coming to her house, yet did nothing to ensure my security or that of her dog. I hope those vet bills teach your neighbor a lesson, but she may just ignore the bills and stiff the vet. She sounds like the type that would have to be taken to court to force her to accept responsibility.1 point

Hey, it's his skin on the line. If he's good with it, that's all that matters, I guess. Your thread just asked "do you think this is safe", so I was giving my honest PERSONAL opinion. for the record...the sub par shooting I was referring to was the guy who performed the mag dump into a cloud of dust above his target without seeming to even know he was missing. I meant no offense1 point

I really don't see what he was trying to accomplish. I mean he told the brides mom. Seems like he needs to be more of an observer in silence.1 point

I would wager he was just wondering if you had been drinking. That would be the only reason I'd ask that question then still don't know if I'd bother. I'd probably just watch to see if you were.1 point

Thankfully this is a law that has not really been applied. But it is a bad law that has the potential to be used in the future and cause folks a lot of hassle. We need to change it while we are ahead.1 point

The whole 'nuclear bomb' question is a straw argument. Yes, you can theoretically own a bomb. There are no Federal laws prohibiting the ownership of a nuclear bomb per se. As I mentioned in my previous post, legally acquiring the plutonium is the issue. And that has NOTHING to do with the 2nd Amendment. The only kind of weapon specifically prohibited from ownership by an American citizen is a machine gun made after 5/19/1986. Anything else is legal to own under Federal law. And I challenge anyone to give a logical argument as to why that one prohibition is Constitutional!1 point

Open carry is best when it's legal everywhere but practiced nowhere. These guys (and anyone who open carries in general) are illogical or uneducated morons that are only hurting our pro-gun pro-freedom cause.1 point

If you don't want guns in your store that's fine just post the signs where they belong on the dam outer door so I can see them. It is not up to me to actively search or research the interwebs to find out if your stupid or not...1 point

Just thought i would give an update on the finish after a year of hard use. I probably have this pistol on me 75% of the time I leave the house and alway appendix carry. In summer, I sweat a lot and while working on the farm, the pistol takes some abuse. So, after over a year of hard use, this thing still looks pretty close to the same as it did the day I picked it up! I'm now a full believer in the benefits of cerakoting.1 point

That guy is a loser like his father and his father's father. I started my military career on hill 881 and ended it after serving proudly in Desert Storm. People like me don't need some FB smart ass questioning our patriotism. I've always done what needed to be done under less than perfect circumstances. I'm sure as long as I'm able I'll do the same if required. There's no joy in killing no matter what the circumstances. People that have only done it playing video games have no fucking idea.1 point

I'd fight if need be... though I must add, by definition, none of us can yet genuinely claim the same title as the 3% fighting in the first revolution. Its simply an idea that gravitates those of like mind... I do agree with that idea, and would aspire to be part of whatever percentage who stands for liberty. To me it's no different than keeping the oath, flying the Gadsden flag, or showing up at a ranch to prevent another Ruby Ridge... So, yeah, I'm down with the III%.1 point

The young man did the right thing in getting out while unseen but his first mistake was not calling 911 to get the police coming to what turned out to be a very dangerous situation for sure. Would have been a really bad day for Craddock had he come to my house uninvited after rifling through my out building. i would have called the police and gave them all the time they needed till he came in my house and then a body bag and coroner would have been needed if the police didn't get to him before I did. I would give the police time till he got in my house and then it would be my responsibility to protect my home and my well being.................jmho1 point

So I went to Fugate's today to shoot the LCP I bought there last Friday. And I just so happened to remember what Patton said about Carmen having a S&W 640 last week. So before I left, I meandered nonchalantly over to the revolver case, and sure enough, guess what I saw. It's a terrible picture, but it looks something like this... And no, there was no way I could leave without it. Simply too beautiful. My wife was with me, and I guess my big, sad eyes made her feel sorry for me, and she actually let me buy it. That, and my promise to not by another gun for quite a while... :D By the way, thanks for the heads up, Patton!1 point
