Yes because treating a health issue as a law enforcement issue has been sooooo effective thus far. give me a ####in break.   I have still yet to see how anyone can make a cogent moral case for exercising prior restraint on an individual's liberty because of what they "might" do at some point to abuse it. "Drugs are bad and will ruin your life, so if I catch you with them I will arrest you, throw you in jail, and ruin your life," has never made a damn lick of sense to me. I don't buy the argument that we should have laws which restrict freedom simply because of what people might do. Tomorrow one of the 15 million owners of an AR15 might go on a shooting spree and kill a bunch of folks. Doesn't mean my rifle should be taken away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk4 points

That pretty much solidifies the process of manufacturing pseudo-events. Media skews information in their favor while it feeds the ratings and people are paying attention, and once bigger stories control the attention of the general public, damning information surfaces. I doubt it will gain any mainstream attention.3 points

Holy crap HD just went from 60 year old technology to cutting line technology! I have nothing against Harleys, it's the majority of the people that ride them that get on my nerves. It's the whole "I'm being an individual, but I'm going to wear the same gay looking pirate leather costume as all the other individuals" mentality. Harley Davidson has become nothing more than a lifestyle of what is best described in the motorcycling communtiy as RUBs, that's "Rich Urban Bikers" they never ride anything that has more than 5,000 miles or is more than 3 years old. Consequently they can't tell you about the last trip they took out west that the bike didn't ride the majoity of miles on a trailer. The trip to Alaska, or South America, because the majority of HD riders can onl tell you about the beer and barbecue joints within 50 miles of their house. I'm not bitter, I just ride a 23 year old Honda ST1100, it's ugly, it's dependable, and I ride the crap out of it, don't care what anyone else thinks.3 points

Having just bought a new Harley (my first) a couple of months ago I looked at a lot of different bikes. I personally think this has the potential to do just fine and in fact I like the looks of it. Like me, there are plenty of people out there who aren't what I could consider "hardcore" Harley people or even hard core bikers for that matter, but there is something still, even to this day about owning a Harley. Some could care less, and that's ok, but having had other bikes before this, I have to say I have a bigger sense of pride riding this bike than I did the others. Maybe it is vanity, I won't say it isn't, but it has been different. There are some who love a motorcycle for just that, any two wheels that they can get on and ride. I am somewhere in between. I like to ride, but I wouldn't call it a passion. It is a hobby. Does that make me less of a "Biker" or Harley guy, maybe, but what it shows is that there are those of us with disposable income willing to buy something we like, not that we have to have. I suspect there will be some who maybe don't feel comfortable with the larger Harley bikes and want something a bit more modern and I think this fits that bill. I don't think any hardcore biker, no matter the brand, is clamoring for an electric bike. But, the guy who wants something different to ride around on or to and from work, I think it looks pretty cool. Only time will tell, but if Honda had come out with this, I think there would be many calling them the leader in the market.3 points

How exactly is the threat of arrest for B&E or theft reduced by correcting our drug policy?2 points

Do not send them to bigun, he is just going to use those dangerous small primer 45 ACP brass. Why risk his life and you being sued. I will gladly "destroy" that small primer brass. Heck, I will even pay for shipping. In all seriousness I LOVE small primer 45 brass. The reason is I can use small rifle primers to load it up. That is one less primer type I need to have on hand. I quit loading large primer 45 ACP brass a long time ago and put large primer brass in my end of the world bucket. I have shot a metric ton of both large and small primer brass and cannot see a difference between them performance wise. Just make sure your pistol will ignite small rifle, if not use small pistol. I use small rifle in my pistol calibers, 45 ACP as well as 9mm.2 points

It was handy from my lunch on the run. I had to literally open the box, open the knife three or four times, laugh maniacally while shredding said wrapper and get back to work. I'll probably need stitches by the end if the night.2 points

:D I am a happy camper today! Ran home at lunch to open it a few times. FYI, these things are SHARP as promised. I sliced a hamburger wrapper to ribbons with no snagging and barely had to touch it.2 points

I think the V-Rod was an attempt by Harley to make the most uncomfortable bike in the world. :rofl:2 points

There are a lot of HD riders looking to be seen on an expensive bike the louder the better it's all about the attention, I feel HD will always make bikes to cater to that crowd. Then there are those who just enjoy the experience of being on 2 wheels and want to be able to ride whenever they can for as long as they can. That second group is FAR more accepting of new tech if it extends the ride from what I've seen, they were the first I saw shell out $$$ for daymakers(LED headlights), the first to welcome fuel injection coming to HD bikes, and will likely be the first to really embrace an electric HD bike and put some real miles on it. Harley has been around a long time and has made many adjustments to their path, the livewire isn't ending their current lineup only joining it eventually if there is enough interest. It's no different then them adjusting to real or perceived market desires during any other time period in their history.2 points

Yes, HD has been making mistakes for years. Nothing new here. :)2 points

So I went and read all 34 pages on doodie and looked the at the YouTube stuff. Getting pass some of the immature language being used, some of the posters' analytics of the video timing data is very convincing that this wasn't just a couple mis-reads of the timer - - - this was a pattern of cheating that has gone on for some time. I think this is a Really Big Deal. This isn't some local match guys trying to make themselves look good. This is a longtime RO, GM and former national champion who appears to have been "cooking the books" with his timer for several YEARS! Think of the hundreds if not thousands of honest shooters that he cheated in that amount of time.2 points

Not a fan, but I certainly would find room in the crowded safe for this rifle. Are you in? http://www.sigsauer.com/Promotions/Sweepstakes.aspx 1 point

According to Gallup, many are catching on to the media. http://www.gallup.com/poll/171740/americans-confidence-news-media-remains-low.aspx Unfortunatly though, if people can't hear the truth about a story because there's no media large enough to counter the bias, activisim and LIES, (call it what it really is), they will remain ignorant and believe the first reports. I am guilty myself of making a quick judgement as soon as I hear some news stories but i'm trying to tell myself to WAIT, don't believe what they say or report because the story will most likely change several times until the media and others have the story they want you to hear, but eventually some truth will leak out over time from smaller sources.1 point

Let me clarify. There's nothing inherently wrong with it, I just wish there wasn't both small and large primed brass available. It doesn't take a lot to aggravate me, and taking the extra time to separate them, and then finding a surprise you missed while trying to cram a large primer in a small hole certainly does the trick. It was a solution to a problem that didn't exist.1 point
meh.. I turn off wifi outside of the house. Those stores ping your wifi connections constantly to record behaviors throughout the place. Even if you don't connect to the wifi, some of their systems will constantly ping it to record your movements (how long you stay in certain areas, which paths you walk etc) - WalMart even goes to the extent of matching movements up with items purchased at checkout and I think there were plans in the future to start focusing mailed/emailed advertisements to people based on all of that data.
I must have a poor walmart. They don't even have a public wifi. Don't forget to wrap your phone in tin foil when at the mall, they are real sneaky. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD1 point

I was taking to my brother the other day ago Ted. We realized we will likely never grow out of pretending to punch one another and making explosion sounds on "impact". Kind if like laughing at a fart, I think something's are always fun no matter how old you get.1 point

Lights and turn markers look terrible. Fix that and I would think about buying one. Otherwise, I will just look at suzuki, honda or yamaha. Get a damn good cruiser for half the price of a harley. I like harleys. but the price just doesnt warrant me buying just a name.1 point

this is the only way for them to go. it they want to have any future as a company they will go this way. the v-rod was one way they had to go to stay ahead of the ever changing government and epa regs. look at the water cool motor on the new tour bikes. they got to meet the epa rules and the old motors don't make it.1 point

I look for a rule book change requiring the RO with the timer to show the time to both the shooter and the scorekeeper at minimum.1 point

This looks like a publicity move to me. There's no way this bike fits the existing Harley Davidson culture. Honda, yes, it would work for them.1 point

Next Thursday I will be shooting a wedding for a friend. I'll be using my Canon T3i with primarily 50mm 1.4 lens. It is an indoor wedding and I am afraid of ambient light not being bright enough. I am considering purchasing an external flash, and it looks like the Speedlite 430EX II is quite well respected from all the sources I have looked at. I have never used an external flash before but would love to give it a try. Of course using such a flash means you can create very harsh shadows if used incorrectly. I'd primarily be using this flash for indoor settings/events and portraits. Should I go for it? Can you tell me much I need to know about bouncing a flash? My theory is to add to my gear as I slowly shoot events and photos for people that pay me. If my hobby eventually lets me buy professional equipment, then perhaps someday I can do it professionally!1 point

I got mine in on Tuesday. My husband intercepted the package and as he's handing it to me, he says "you ordered MORE ammo??" Sensing his disapproval, I quickly responded "No sweetheart, this case is for my brother, not me. There was a 1 case limit per person, so he had me order it for him." Whew!!! That was a close one!!!! :D LOL1 point

Off the top of my head reply. As for why it's where it is, likely someone back in the day witched for it & dug it there. People used to lay stones like that for fences, etc., without cement. Fitted by hand. Probably took a while. Safe to use? Back then, probably so. Now, with all the stuff in the ground water, who knows without testing.1 point

I agree, and think that warrants are bogus, but the article itself gives very little situational information, and the warrant is very detailed. I won't justify the actions of any government agent as moral. They have the legal right to act on evidence they say they have under oath, and the constitution gives them the right to do so as long as it is in accordance of the Fourth Amendment. If they violate anything, it is something that would be settled in court. Of course, that is assuming that the system works... I don't believe that laws are valid in general. I think this guy should have been left alone. Who cares if he did have someone else buy a bunch of guns for him? Who cares if he did manufacture destructive devices? Why should anyone care? If they aren't bothering other people or infringing upon someone else's immediate right to life or freedom, no one should care. It's their business unless they bring someone else into it involuntarily, but there are over 300,000,000 Americans and the Best Government that money can buy in place to disagree with me.1 point
