1. There should be another option; get in touch with your neighbors and everyone around stand your ground together.  Be damned if I would leave my house to the mercy of a bunch of thugs exploiting the death of someone for justification to rob and pillage.

 2. ... There were riots in Chattanooga in the 1960's and on July 24, 1980... Ask your neighbors if it affected them...? In 1969 there wuz a fellow by the name of Martin Luther King that wuz shot in Memphis... It's easy to read about that one...  This black unrest thing aint new, just another round of foolish people burnin and lootin the property of others under the name of "justice for the black man"; lead around by the same bunch of race baitin demigogues that are makin a big bucks by doin so; and aided and abetted by even rattier polititians who exploit any  tragedy to further their political ambitions...   There was a riot in knoxville in 1925 over the arrest of a noted black guy about town... The black community banded together to demand his release which resulted in the calling out of the Tennessee National Guard... The rest is bad... Several days of martial law and lots of shooting...   By the way, my dad and grandad told me about this one... They were bringing a wagon load of produce to Knoxville the mornin of the martial law declaration... They were turned back at the gay street bridge over the tennessee river and could hear the shooting then...   These riots aint new and they aint goin away until everybody (...black and white...) gets smart enough not to think they are not the only ones that dont get a fair shake.... Remember the great quote from Booker T. Washington:

 3. I'm the one sitting on my front porch with my AR and the 1911 and a good field of fire. My twenty-three year old son is on the roof of the second story part of the house with the M1A, and his 1911, and has roped up a can of ammo with some for each. I'm talking on the little FRS radio net to my armed neighbors. Ones got my .223 single shot, and another has my .308 single shot, but there are enough weapons to go around. My spouse is in the house with her 9mm on her hip. The two oldest cars in the neighborhood are already blocking the street at each end, and the four duty rostered guards are there, checking for local zipcode driver's licenses with their ARs on single point slings. The spouses are all making sandwiches and call in the report every half hour to the non-emergency police number. We keep the Police duty sergeant aware of conditions. The County Sheriff has already called up two neighbors who are reserve deputies. Isn't this what everybody does?

 6. You can also hire a realtor to guide you through the process and handle the paperwork, legal document review, and represent you at closing. Many realtors will do this for a flat fee of $250-$500 which is likely going to be much less than an attorney, and they know how to protect you from common mistakes, liabilities, or errors made by the title company. I have a good friend that may be able to do it for you, depending where you are located. Most of the work they can handle via phone or email, but at closing they need to be there in person.

 8. Political Correctness started it decades ago. Like Barney said, "Nip it in the bud". If the race baiters and the "media with an agenda", would stay out of it, and let all of the true facts come forward, we wouldn't have this kind of "lawlessness". As for the "looters", I believe they are opportunistic thugs out for free stuff, and to further the agenda of "crime pays and reinforces the lame excuse to steal another's property".   I applaud the business owners that are taking steps to "protect" their property. When those that are supposed to protect the citizens can't, or won't, it leaves the citizens to fall back on the "Second Amendment" to protect themselves... just what our framers had in mind with the "Second Amendment".   Al Sharpton needs to be in prison for inciting a riot...just like anyone else that would stoop to such a dastardly act. We all want justice done...once all of the true facts are known. But, this "conviction by mob and media" has to stop. Politicizing a tragedy is despicable, and un-American IMHO. We have enough enemies that want to see the demise of our Nation, without dividing and fighting among ourselves. Ask yourselves one question...would all of this be going on if the young man had been white!   With all of this rambling said...I'll do whatever it takes to protect my person and my property...including executing my Second Amendment rights...which is "still" lawful.

 9. I live in a very large neighborhood that many would call racially and socio-economically diverse. I'm not giving everything I worked hard for to a bunch of thugs without a fight.

 10. Your local title company "operated by a lawyer" should be able to walk you through the process. They'll print a standard contract, run a title search, and have a plethora of paperwork for both of you to sign. Other than that, deciding whether the buyer, seller, or both pays for this will likely be your biggest worry.

 11. I agree, I'm going to try to think positive thoughts. <crossing fingers>   Last night MSNBC showed peaceful protesters while the other side of town busted nuts. The store owners are mad screaming "Where were the police?" because they stood there and didn't intervene. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. The peaceful protesters and citizens not involved in this are paying a big price for the ones who act like the trash they are. There are a lot of black people in that community speaking out and are mad as hell, they understand these people are destroying the neighborhood they have to continue living in after this is over. I'm sick of hearing about it but not near as much as the locals there are. Hope citizens of TN act with more tact tonight. I'm sure obama is drooling with images of Martial Law in the bubble cloud over his head.

 14. We talk about dressing a certain way to conceal weapons here. We don't mind buying pants a size too big in the waist to allow for IWB or shirts too loose and long to serve as concealment. Personally, I include the option to pocket carry in this clothing choice. Since I know I'm gonna want to pocket carry from time to time, I look for loose fitting pants with big pockets on purpose.

 16. As a young man who was dropped off by his parents at college 1,000 miles from home about a decade ago, it meant so much to me to see my Dad on the verge of crying as they walked back to their car to drive home. My Dad is, I'm sure, similar to you guys. Hard working, tough, sometimes a bit callous, and never a cried or complained about anything. To see that I, as his son, meant so much to him that he could not hold back that emotion didn't make me think he was weak. It made me realize how much he loved me, and how he was putting my growth and development ahead of his own desire to keep me home. College taught me all kinds of new ways to love and respect my parents, and many of the ways they loved and cared for me that I had never recognized before. That continues to this day. I am always looking back and rediscovering how much my Mom and Dad poured themselves into the lives of myself and my siblings. I try to find ways to let them know that, and to thank them for all they have done and continue to do for me. On behalf of your son, thank you.

 17. The main question not being answered is this: how often do you change the oil? If it's 7,500 or less under normal driving conditions, any money on a full synthetic is wasted, imho. Both the 4 and 6 cyl Camry motors are not known to have excessive wear or fouling of the engine oil. When in doubt, check the owners' manual. Toyota spends millions (maybe billions?) on R&D. No counter jockey (I used to be one, btw) can match that. I personally would go synthetic if you plan on going past 6 mos or 7,500 miles regularly. Between 3-6 mos/5-7,500 miles I'd go blend. If going by the old 3 mos/3k I'd go plain dino. Just in the interest of full disclosure, I put M1 0-40 in my V8 Volvo S80 about every six months, and change the oil in my wife's MKX at the same time using M1 5-20. OEM filter in the Volvo, and M1, Bosch Distance +, or Royal Purple filter on the Lincoln. I used to obsess about timely oil changes... now I just use premium stuff and change it when I get around to it. I have plenty of wiggle room with the quality stuff I use.

 18. Do it yourself for cheaper. Napa gold filter and mobile 1. Costs me $25 in the civic to do it myself, and my last pickup was $30. Stick with synthetic if that's what you have always been using.

 22. Get a "burglar bomb" for less than $70 and install it in the shed in less than 5 minutes. If they do get in, they won't take anything, and you can call police to pick them up from the lawn where they will be gagging trying to breathe and see again. No physical harm so it's legal, just remember to disarm when you go in. ☺

 23.
The asset to buying a colt vs a PSA is resale value.
That's not necessarily true. You'll get what you have in either rifle -10% usually. Even in today's, buyers' market. I'm not by any means a fanboy just stating my opinion and I tend to lean torwards the colt over the two others mentioned, PSA included. Now you want to start talking Daniel defense or LWRC then I quickly jump off the colt bandwagon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

 26. You would pay sales taxes in GA, then if GA taxes are lower than what it is here in TN, when you go to register the vehicle here, they will charge you the difference.   Have done this with a vehicle from KY last year - their tax is 6% or something, so I had to pay an extra 3% when it was registered in Williamson county

 27. This happens often, most times you pay the tax when you get your plates.  So you would pay in TN., if the dealer makes you pay tax TN will give you credit for it.  I would confirm this with the DMV on Monday to make sure before you do it.

 30. The PPS43 pistol is easily turned into a folding stock Short-Barreled Rifle with a mere filling out of an ATF Form 1, $200 one-time tax, some spare parts, and a little Dremel work.  Guaranteed to get attention at the range.  From a 10" PPS-43 barrel, surplus ammo will turn in almost 2000fps.  The S&B or PPU ammo currently available is a bit lighter load.  You will be lucky to get 1800fps from the PPS-43C.   Some folks have made AR-15s that will shoot the 7.62x25mm.  That sounds like an interesting project.  When the surplus ammo was really cheap and plentiful, I almost went that route.  Now, with the surplus pretty much gone, it would be an expensive toy.  The 7.62x25 doesn't really gain much going from a 10" to 16" barrel.    If you handload, you could probably make it really scream.   For a while, InterOrdnance sold some of the PPSh-41 semi-autos with a 16" barrel called the SR-41.  I imagine that there are some out there for sale.  If you found one at a reasonable price, it would be a fun shooter.

 32.   This^.  Since there are no liens, any reputable local lawyer who handles real estate transactions can handle the details, usually for a nominal fee.  The most important item for the buyer is the title search, to make sure there are no hidden surprises accompanying the property.  For the seller, a good cashier's check is what you are after ...

 41. It can be done depending on your clothing choice. I carry this way often. It does print, but it is a very square shape which would appear to be a wallet or phone. For me it only works with a quality kydex holster. Leather is nice, but too thick for this carry method. I agree it is "clunky", but I have an LCP for those times when I am doing something really active. A G26 or G27 is so much easier to shoot though. LCP is more comfortable, baby Glock is more comforting.
