It doesn't need to be this complicated. Try your best to get your gift out before Christmas. If it's a few days later closer to New Years no one is going to come looking for you. Christ.3 points

I'm not sure what this juice plan is, but if it works for you then great. Be careful though because the weight loss your experiencing is actually from a significant calorie deficit. You were possibly consuming 3-4k calories a day and most likely a high carbohydrate component. So the lack of carbs and calories are what's leading to the bad feeling. Anytime you feel bad like that it's harder and harder to stay the course. I wish you all the success and happy you have changed your mindset to be healthy. That's the hardest part. You have I decide "I'd rather lose weight than eat that". In the end there is no substitute for daily exercise and reduced calorie diet. If you count calories, don't exceed 2,000 and avoid as much carbohydrates as possible you'll generally fell better through the process and still lose weight. Then as you cross the 250 mark or your weight loss plateaus then drop your daily intake to 1800, 1700, 1600. Etc. once you reach your goal weight anywhere from 17-2000 lean calories should be sustainable. I will tell you this. I have never been overweight to the point you mention in the OP. So I can't say I understand or know what you're going through but I will offer encouragement and support in any fashion I can. If you need workout tips or meal plan help. Don't hesitate to ask. I'm not a nutritionist but I've been around the block enough to know the simple equations to make you successful. The biggest two tips I can offer 1) low carb intake, lean meats 2) low impact cardio(elliptical, stationary bike) for 30mins/day. Get a heart rate monitor and use heart rate as an effort indicator3 points

I think cops need training on the difference between the dog that is actually attacking and the dog that is barking loudly in defense of its property. The problem with many of the stories is that the cops apparently did not even give any thought to what they were doing (such as shooting an ankle-biter dog). I think the normal rules should apply--only use a gun when absolutely necessary in defense of life, know your target and what is beyond, etc. In my house, if a cop broke down the door because they had the wrong address, my 40-pound dog might approach a few steps, barking loudly, hackles raised, but would most likely not attack. Based on the situations that I have seen, that would most likely get her shot, and our main living area where she stays is the second floor over a finished basement, so I could see a shot aimed at a dog going through the floor and into the room below. My personal belief is that if the dog is latched onto your body, that is when you get to shoot it, not before, even if it is running toward you, and especially not just because it is growling or barking in the corner of the room. I see a lot of dogs that don't like me, and most are fear aggressive--they are not going to attack if you leave them alone. The few that have lunged at me could have caused a serious wound if they connected, but I doubt they could have (or would have) actually got my throat. So yes, are there times based on my system when a cop might be harmed in the interest of being absolutely sure that the dog is a threat? Yes, but I feel that risk is outweighed by the dangers created by shooting dogs that didn't need shooting. As for drug dealers who have guard dogs--I don't think the dogs should be executed just because the owner is a bad guy anymore than I think the cops should be able to set his house on fire just to get him out. Does killing the guard dogs make their job easier? Yes, but so does suspending the Constitution.2 points

Im with you. The heck with it. Christmas is way to commercial and overblown these days. If it wasn't for my wife the only Christmas stuff we would do is dinner with the family. No tree, presents, etc.2 points

Oh , thanks pal , now I may need two ...... love it ! If only we could get guns as nice as these knives for $200 and under ..... Now I see , this is sweet !2 points

Here is a Two Tone LG When I originally mentioned this to Dave, we were to pay $10.00 more for each knife done this way, then he thought about how cool it would be to do this run this way as no other Runt forum knife was made this way, he waived the price for us!2 points

Dave is telling it straight on the maple burl. Pretty stuff, but not consistent. Here's a pic of my Godfather/Godson, both maple burl. They came from two different vendors... PS, mosaic button on the Godson PSS, I'm in. Standard blade PSSS, Willis, I'm probably gonna wind up dying from this all bean diet :)2 points

Simple stuff works best. Cut out all foods which serve no other purpose than pleasure. Soft drinks, lickies and chewies, desserts. Then incorporate just a little exercise which is sustainable for you; not some P90X crap that you'll quit after a few weeks because it's too intense. Those simple things right there will show results over time. You don't want to set crash goals of dropping large amounts of weight in a short amount of time. You will fail to keep it off, or give up when you aren't seeing drastic results quick enough. Cut the garbage food out, manage your portions and do a little exercise. Do this for 6 months at least and you'll not only see results, but you'll get used to the idea of not eating large amounts of crap and drinking soda. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

I'd try calling around to a few of the vendors here first and see how close they can get to the online price. Buy through them and you may not be in the position of having to find a new favorite shop again. $0.022 points

Got an email from these folks, great deal on used Italian police trade in Beretta 92S @$297.00. Be warned due to the mag release button, 92FS or M9 mags may not work with out the notch. Link to the deal: http://www.topgunsupply.com/beretta-model-92-s-italian-police-imports.html I admit I did not know anything about 92S, this is what I found: In order to meet requirements of some law enforcement agencies, Beretta modified the Beretta 92 by adding a slide-mounted combined safety and decocking lever, replacing the frame mounted manual thumb safety. This resulted in the 92S which was adopted by several Italian law enforcement and military units. The later relocation of the magazine release button means these models (92 & 92S) cannot necessarily use later magazines, unless they have notches in both areas. Not a fan of the weight of the AR500 plates but very good price point. I'm going to fork out the extra money and get some lightweight Dyneema armor by DKX.1 point

I'm of the mind that if I don't need it (i don't as of right now) I buy it and just give it to (or sell it at cost if we aren't close) someone I know does and that won't resell it. Why leave it to chance? :pleased: With that said I'd panic if I saw mini mags. I haven't seen those in a while.1 point

I believe the BUG Nationals is ran by S&W not HQ so it would be the MDs responsibility (in the grand scheme of things) to check all the shooters. Kinda like GADPA so I am interested to see if HQ levies the heavy hand on their primary sponsor.1 point

I noticed the same thing. Ammo prices continue to fall. I've also noticed that Wal-Mart is becoming less and less competitive. They are now noticeably higher than my online favorites. It's amazing because it wasn't that long ago that NO ONE could touch their prices. Now I won't even buy from them.1 point

I'm in for #3 with a regular blade and I may purchase a second knife later.1 point

I guess the goose was going ballistic then the dog starting barking at the back door. Afterwards she went on a little backyard safari seems there was a skunk stumbling around spraying everywhere. Looks like the score ended up Henry 1 skunk 0. Funny because she thought it was silly to buy a Henry in a 22lr she never really shot it before today. I always told her you cant go wrong with a good 22lr. She was going on about how smooth it was and how nice the bullseye peep sight was( the sights were an add on you know the kind if that's what you want purchase) Funny that she went for the Henry even funnier now she wants one of her own. Looks like we will be. Making a trip to Greenbrier soon.1 point

I think you have to add all cost before buying online and of course local availability. For cost when buying online is price + shipping + background check and transfer fee vs cost - cash discount + transfer fee and tax. In most cases it is not that different. Example: online sale = gun 550.00 + shipping 25.00 + nics 10.00 + transfer fee 25.00 = 610.00. Local 580.00 - 3% 562.60 + tax 9.25% 614.64 + nics 10.00 = 624.64. Note: nics is not taxed. That is only a 14.00 difference which you may or may not be able to negotiate. Even if you don't pay shipping online that is $39.00 which maybe negotiated down. Just so you know I buy both ways online and locally. If the local prices are way out of line I will buy online or if the gun is not available locally again I buy online. Just my .02.1 point

Great that you're making progress. I'm always skeptical of these "cleanse" kind of diets. The weight you've lost is most likely just what was in your digestive tract. I don't know how much juice you're drinking, but keep in mind that most any kind of juice contains a lot of sugar and hence isn't exactly "low calorie". Eating a fairly balanced diet with plenty of variety is the best choice. Portion control is key, and very difficult to maintain. I struggle with that myself. I eat what I consider to be a pretty good diet, I just tend to eat too much. I'm also a stress/boredom eater. It's a tough habit to break. Get all the crap out of the house... cookies, crackers, desserts, etc. If you don't have any of it on hand, you can't eat it. Please, PLEASE... go see a doctor before you start any significant exercise. I lost a good friend and coworker a couple years ago. The scale had risen to well past the 300 lb mark, he got fed up and decided he need to lose weight. He dropped dead of a heart attack while exercising at home with his wife and son. He was 37 and born 2 weeks before me.1 point

Progress report gents. Well, going on day 4 and was shocked when I stepped on the scale. I now weigh 320, that's a weight loss of 10lbs in 4 days. I have done nothing for exercise, yet, and have only changed my intake from processed foods and meat 'n' taters to nothing but H2O and juice. This morning's coffee was half a lemon in 16oz of water and breakfast is as follows; 1 orange, 2 granny smith apples, 1 carrot, 1 cucumber, 1/2 lemon, and 1 handful of kale leaves. I made this recipe myself and call it "Tang with a Kick". It's REALLY good and there are several juices that I thoroughly enjoy and there are some, well, not so much. I am currently exactly 100lbs away from my goal. It took almost 3 months of working out to lose this kind of weight so it's really awesome to see this kind of change. Even when I begin to eat normally again, I have no intentions of eating the way I did and will sub out any and all caffeinated/soft/energy drinks with juice. If I feel that I want to drink something besides water, it will be a juice and if I need a pick me up, I'll mix in stuff that will provide me with plenty of vitality. The key to this is dedication, one cannot falter and has to have a mindset as such. I had some mind shattering revelations when I decided to do this so again, it's NOT for everyone. I hope that I can inspire some of my fellow TGO'rs to follow a similar path to better health. It's not easy but then, nothing worth having IS easy. More updates to follow as I go.1 point

It won't be because of his quick wits, even though he may "know things". Here's a group of hardened ZA warriors, who you've witnessed kill hundreds of zombies with little or no fear. You confess to lying all that time. You confess to sabotaging the mission multiple times. You admit that all the while you realize good people were dying to save your ass. Then you choose the biggest, strongest, best trained, most violent, guy known anger issues and tell him you're "still smarter than he is". Sounds like something the dumbest guy in the group would do.1 point

Good thing she didn’t let the dog out. My Doberman got skunked one night; it was terrible. My friend asks why I didn’t shoot it; I told him the only rifle I had quick access to was .308. He said well, they won’t autopsy it. I said no, but my luck a cop would be driving by. Now I have both a .22 and an air rifle on standby. I also have two quarts of hydrogen peroxide, a big box of baking soda and Dawn dish washing liquid.1 point

That's how this stuff gets started: A young woman was preparing a ham dinner. After she cut off the end of the ham, she placed it in a pan for baking. Her friend asked her,"Why did you cut off the end of the ham"? And she replied ,"I really don't know but my mother always did, so I thought you were supposed to." Later when talking to her mother she asked her why she cut off the end of the ham before baking it, and her mother replied, "I really don't know, but that's the way my mom always did it." A few weeks later while visiting her grandmother, the young woman asked, "Grandma, why is it that you cut off the end of a ham before you bake it?" Her grandmother replied, "Well dear, otherwise it would never fit into my baking pan."1 point
