1. I think wcd just invented a new word:   snoob noun - derogatory 1. a person who is new to the shooting sports yet insists on the need for high-end professional firearms and gear. 2. a person who believes himself or herself an expert or connoisseur of firearms despite limited experience.   Origin 2014 First used on web forum Tennessee Gun Owners by member wcd. A combination of "snob" and "n00b".   Examples for snoob After shooting skeet for the first time with his boss, Jerry sold his kidney in Mexico and bought a Krieghoff K80 Competition. What a snoob. That snoob shot his cousin's Ed Brown 1911. Now he thinks he's too good for my blinged out Taurus 1911 with the gold trigger. A snoob says: "You can't use an AR with an HBAR to clear rooms. I went to a class in Vegas and that's what the SEALRangerGreenBeretDelta instructor told me."

 2. Evidently you just can't make some people happy. It was a crap shoot and everyone knew it. Crying about it is just silly. What happened online is no different than what happens at any retailer who offers that good of a deal whether online or in person. At least you got to stay in your underwear fighting the crowd at the cyber door, instead of getting trampled in the cold ;-)

 3. Bought a gun (don't remember what) from Walmart, went through background check and then waited 30 min for a csm to "carry" my gun to the front door. On the way I asked why, she said company policy, "don't want anyone loading a gun in the store", I told her that gun was safe, it was protected by the 2 I had on me that were fully loaded. Should have seen the look on her face, I thought she was going to crap a brick.

 4. I'll never start a corporation, especially one that may get the attention of MDA or any other anti-gun group but I do have a basic form letter to send to any of them.

 6. Yeah I've got one of those in my head too. Mines three words and can't be printed here since this is a family friendly forum, but the third word is "yourselves", and the first word is "go", so I'm sure you all can piece together the rest.

 7. Could be a build up of calcium in the tank. I have seen it build up all the way to well above the lower element. This robs the tank of water and also wastes energy heating up the crud.

 8. Unless you plan on playing in bar tournaments I would look at 8 ft tables (if you have the room); your guests that are pool players will appreciate it. The slate and the cushions are the key to the materials. The assembly of the slate and the level of the table are the key to the installation. I would think that a company that makes their own tables would have a good install team; but that’s just a WAG.

 9. Got lucky today and took this eight point. I've hunted a little spot a few times the last couple weeks and haven't had any luck. I went in mainly to call and kill coyote. I've soft called a couple times but haven't had any takers. A few grey fox showed up but season wasn't open yet. I decided to take the muzzleloader in after noticing that a rub line had been hit in the last couple days. The woman that owns the property asked that I kill coyote first, don't shoot mom or baby deer, and only take big bucks. Since Sept. I've seen zero coyote, 12 or 13 doe and this buck.

 11. I was told by an audiologist that any activities that leaves your ears ringing has caused damage. It is cumulative over time. Spent pistol shell casings are better than nothing for emergency earplugs.

 12. Shooting with the general public can be exciting enough as it is, I'm personally glad that most ranges won't let John Q Public practice yanking their gats out of their clipped on uncle Mikes with me and my family in the next lane. "Rapid fire" rules do suck for those of us who are capable of both walking AND talking at the same time, but it is what it is.

 13. Agreed. I got a Dremel as teenager and if anything I did during those years counts for anything today, I can wield a cutoff wheel with authoritay. ;) I'm having hard time picturing the problem though, is the actual scope itself that's hitting the rail, or the lens cover or what? Second, is the rail got some kind of unique mounting scheme or hole pattern? Short sections of weaver rail are cheap, in fact I have more than I need if it could work for you. Any chance of some pics of the issue?

 14. I don’t know what a gun snoob is, () but the express is a $300 shotgun for those that want cheap. If you want better fit and finish look at the Police or Wingmaster models.

 15. there is a blind hole/slot inside the trigger.  The small leg of the spring goes in that hole.  I thought the spring was held in place by a pin, but it sits in the half moon cutoff right by the blond hole.  I had to put the trigger in a vice to hold it in place and use a hex wrench to compress the long leg of the spring under the pin on the hand.

 16. I haven't used them, but I just looked at their website. That is definitely what you're looking for and is very similar to the place here in Chattanooga I bought mine at (All South Billiards), and who installed mine originally and then moved mine when I changed houses. they do it all the time for a living. Also, I saw they charge $350 for moving with original felt. That's dead on price wise.   One more thing. Most places will have a variety of cloth for the top and rails. I went cheap on mine, but it only lasted about a year. Next time I went with Brunswick Centennial felt. It's amazing. Expensive, but amazing. It takes spin very well, has great speed, and you could spill a coke on it, wipe it down with a paper towel and keep playing. It's made with teflon coated fibers. It puts Simonis in the shade. LOL

 17. I have one and have had it about 10 years. All 8 ft tables are now made with a 3 piece slate system. Slate is the only way to go. Craiglist is an excellent source. I do use the heck outta mine, but most people don't. They buy it and it sits after a few months. If you buy one from a retailer, make sure it's a reputable game table retailer and that the price includes moving and installing. If you get one on Craigslist, be sure to add $350 or so to have it professionally moved. Disassembly is REQUIRED for a 8 ft 3 piece slate table or it can be damaged. you don't want the slate to crack from moving it assembled. I've had mine moved once and had it done by a pro. It took them about an hour to take it down, then they moved it to my new house, then about 2 hours to re-assemble reinstall the felt and level it correctly. I would NEVER try to move one without having it taken down and re-assembled. You're looking at about 700+ lbs for a good quality slate top table.

 23. Funny I did the same thing to demonstrate how weak a 22 lr round was to a know it all. Shot a steel case 223 casing with my Henry the weak 22 lr drove the 223 case into the 2x6 that was set in front of it. Me I would go with the 10/22 besides you can always use two or three of them. I have been eyeing the synthetic stainless model.

 24. You'll never get your hearing back 100%. I'm 38, but been around guns my whole life, add drag cars and loud music to that mix since I grew up in the late 80's to early 90's when audio system were the big thing, and I've noticed a constant ringing (tinnitus) and I'm completely tone deaf to some sounds. Like some digital beeps for timers, etc., I can't hear them at all. Sometimes I don't even hear a text message on my iPhone if there is enough background noise. Speaking of background noise, if I'm in a place with a lot of people talking and loud noise, it gets real difficult to hear what people are saying even when they're just sitting right across the table from me in a restaurant. I've been shooting guns ever since I was old enough to have my dad help me hold one. I can't tell you how many times I've had my plugs out and someone fire a gun beside me before I could get my plugs in. One of my worst instances was I didn't bring my muffs to wear with my cheapy foam ear plugs and fired my 50 BMG (AR50-A1B) at a range with concrete floor and low tin roof. My hearing went to zero, and slowly came back after a weird noise like "cheeeerrrrooooommmeee" and then some bad ringing from there on out. :meh: So that said, do like me. I put extra ear plugs everywhere in my gear so if I ever forget my muffs, at least I have plugs. Sometimes that works out when other folks forget theirs, I can give them a set. All my rifle cases have 2 or 3 sets, my range box has a whole pack. I even keep them in the console in all my vehicles. :)

 25. How old is the heater?  If it's close to 10 years, you're money ahead to just replace it rather than repair, as the tanks themselves have a finite lifespan,

 26. ARs are loud.  You'll have some damage.  Everyone is different as to how much and how long until it stabilizes.  Good luck!

 27. Kind of the point isn't it? I mean indoor ranges are expensive to run, the goal is to make money.

 29. I don’t know anything about Kincaid, but it appears from their website they are making their own tables and using real wood. That’s pretty impressive for a $1500 pool table.

 30. Try looking for a used Ithaca/Winchester/Browning/Remington.  Prices of used guns are similar to those of new junk, and they're made much better.  Nobody ever wore out a shotgun, so don't worry about that.

 31. Right. I wouldn't consider someone who thinks a $300 shotgun isn't top shelf a gun snoob (:D).

 32. I would almost put a lima bean buster sign on my door, wouldn't eat them as a kid and will not eat them now. I'll finish a bowl of beef stew and if there's lima beans in it they will be in a small pile in my empty bowl. There was a can in the pantry for 2 years, I didn't buy rhem but I finally gave them away to a can food drive. If an asteroid hit the earth and there was wide spread famin, 50 years later there would be explorers come into my house and find a skeleton on my bed and a can of lima beans in my pantry. :)

 34. I would not have thought a VP would write something like that; it sounds like a low level IT guy that was butt hurt because there was a perception he couldn’t do his job. His “selling at a loss” comments are also ridiculous. Not many other gun dealers sold guns at a discount; they don’t have to. They did it to get new traffic and get buyers off the fence; its appears to have worked. Reasonable people already understand what happened; he didn’t need to explain to them. It sounds like he just wants to take a shot at the crybabies. It won’t matter to them and will just make them make that much more noise. I am a Bud’s customer and have purchased several guns from them. I didn’t have a problem with their “Black Friday” marketing non-sense, but I think his FB post was very unprofessional. However, apparently he isn’t interested in hearing comments from his customer unless they are positive; so I will post my comment about his childish post here.

If you want to pretend like you are eating REAL sausage and REAL hamburger, then you are in denial! You are not a real vegetarian if you try to imitate meat!!!! Have you ever seen a VEGAN that didn't look hungry?

 41. Why be an asshole to a complete stranger?  Maybe just try saying, "No sir, it's a 9mm" and be done with it.  Or try concealing... but I mean, you're carrying a gun roughly the size of a framing hammer so it might be harder to do that.  :D

 42. Seemed to work for a lot of cops and detectives for a loooong time, still does for a lot of people. Better options? Maybe, but do I really need a 4x4 for that rare occasion, or will the 4 cylinder compact do for 99.9% off the driving most people do. Me thinks some people over think.

How many arrests do you have, versus convictions?    How many arrests do any of us have, versus convictions?    One is one too many . . . it demonstrates that something in your conduct is seriously out of whack.   Now that he's dead, his juvenile record can be unsealed. It doesn't matter who you are or what skin color you have, you attack an LEO, then run, then turn around and rush him, you are gonna have a bad day and it just might be your last bad day as it was for MB.  It's pretty obvious he had a bad attitude and a bad temper he could not control and it got him killed.
