  1. Just got off a plane and am awaiting a connection, so I've had enough Jack Daniels to start ranting. I always sit in an aisle seat, so at least I have quick access to choke the life out of any person who decides today is the day for jihad and virgins. But crap guys. What the hell is the deal with people trying to barrel into the aisle as soon as the plane is stopped? We aren't going anywhere until the door opens, and even then, we have to wait for a bunch of people to deplane before the line starts moving. So there I am, sitting in my aisle seat whilst the occupants of the middle and window are acting like there is a place for me to go to in this aisle. It's simple effing math folks. If each row has six seats, and at each row there is only room for two people to occupy the aisle space, how are we to fit all 6 occupants into that space? This happens. Every. Expletiving. Flight. Am I the only one capable of figuring this out?? Life would be easier if I was a effing stupid as everyone else. Then I wouldn't know any better. Instead I have to get into these confrontations in very close quarters with idiots, and I tend to lose my cool, because it doesn't take a 180 IQ to figure this out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. TMF, I can relate.  I am usually in business so not as bad, but even then, the guy who got on last that had to put his luggage 5 rows behind him and then expects everyone to move out of his way so he can go get his bag and be first off annoys the crap out of me.   Same goes for the luggage carousel.  If people could simply stand 10 ft back and only go get their bag when it gets to them, we wouldn't have people lookinglike storks trying to crane their neck out to catch a peek for that ever elusive black bag that they can't seem to figure out if it is theirs or not.     And if we want biggest pet peeves, it's the family of 10 clueless, once a year flyers. whom think a 10 year old is a child for preboarding.

  7. Everybody is in a hurry to go no where...I had a guy ask me on a plane in Vegas if I was and I quote "are you going to get up or what?" my official response... "If I were to stand up, which I'm not...where the hell would I go once I stand up?"

  8. I cannot begin to tell you the kind act that happened to me today. Partly because it's top secret and partly because it's just not super important. What I will tell you is this; I am always amazed at the people I meet on TGO. Sure there's bickering or jabs. But the smart people, the good people and the kind people that are members on this forum is beyond amazing. I've met a whopping grand total of 5 members now and they've all been a pleasure to meet. 6 soon if/when Comms ever gets off his duff and comes to collect the brass. LOL So thank you, because this is a pretty good group of good doobies.

  10. This would be the reason flying is hard for me sometimes. I've put hands on people. Just over a year ago I snatched some Indian guy up by his shirt who cut in line at a baggage counter. I've have a couple other incidents. I have no self control when it comes to people who lack consideration. I'm working on it. Every day is a struggle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. As I have read in many other posts in this section, glasses are a key part of or survival preparedness in any situation. I try to keep a spare set in the truck, my BOB and one at work. As anyone with glasses knows this can get expensive, and if you are talking about the long haul in hazardous situations you need multiple pair. I recently purchased a pair of glasses from Zenni Optical. The price was $76.78 with the best lenses, best coating, nice frames, two sets of clip on sunshades and all the bells and whistles. This would have cost me over 300 at Wally World. I was skeptical, but when they arrived, I could see great out of them and they have held up to my 2 year old wearing them. $76.78 is still a good chunk of change if you want 4 pair as back ups, so I logged on and bought a pair for as cheep as I could. This was the result. I had a pair of glasses shipped to my house for $16.85 that I can see great out of. If would have bought multiple pairs at one time shipping would have been the same. I you need to add to glasses to you survival preparedness supply, or just buy new glasses, I highly recommend Zenni optical. Full disclosure, their factories are located in other countries, but if I am in a situation where glasses will no longer be made, I need to be able to see.

  15. Well...that was interesting.   Good selection of facts and some fiction. Just how strong are they, and how strong is our resolve to fight them?   That, I think, is the core question.   At one time, I would have answered that easily. But with the political appeasement climate of today, and our leadership sticking their collective heads in the sands(poor choice of words or prophetic?) in denial; I am not so certain any more.   The will to fight is not in doubt when speaking of ISIS or any of the Islamic groups. Granted it is not the type of war our leadership wants, and some say even wants to attempt to engage in.   But it is the war we are faced with, and the learning curve in Washington must change...and quickly, or we will be lost.

  28. Willis, I will concur that Protech is 1st Class All The Way!!!!!! Every December we host the TN ALL Academy Military Ball for those TN kids that are serving at our nation's service academies and ROTC. Every year we get a collection of silent auction items that we accept bids on with all proceeds going to the Wounded Warriors. I emailed Protech and they responded with not one but 2 gifts....1 TR3 Auto and 1 Rockeye Fixed Blade.    When you are making knife purchasing decisions, I sure hope that you keep Protech in mind!

  30.   I have a Glock 30s and a Glock 36. With that said, I REALLY like the M&P 45. Nice shooter, and feels good in the hand. A 45 is just gonna have a bigger grip than a 9 or 40 of the same basic design.

  31. I used to shoot out on a buddies' land, on the edge of some woods behind his house. They didn't have trash pickup, etc... just a big ol' burn pile and then a compost heap. From time to time I'd grab either an old piece of fruit or some other piece of trash to shoot up.... cans and whatever. One day I was out there with my Mossberg Maverick just havin' a good ol' time. I went to the compost pile and found a huge yellow onion. Sucker musta' been 1.5lbs or more. It had some mold on it and was gettin' mushy on one side. I had been having fun putting little holes in stuff, but this - this big onion - I wanted to vaporize it! I set it on a log about 1.5 feet off the ground. I chambered a shell (just basic birdshot) and put the barrel about 1/8th of an inch off the skin of that onion and squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezed the trigger. BOOM! There was no more onion. There was now only an onion puree... everywhere... on everything within about 20 feet of where the onion used to reside. Sadly, that is where I was. Standing, stupidly, at onionpocalypse ground zero. I did not invite myself into their home after that shooting session. And I have not shot an onion since!

  32.   On everything.  If your country for corporate tax purposes isn't the US, you should need to pay to play.   The US is the only country with a high population, and high income levels.  If a business in another country wants to take advantage of that, we should make it worth our while.

  35. I've been picking up reloading supplies a little at a time. During deer season I have zero time to load but when January gets here I'll have plenty of time. I don't have near as much loaded ammo as I'd like to have but a have supplies to make me closer.

  38. The G19 is going to be easier to carry, and give up very little in capacity/shootability to the larger gun.   However, I'd go to a rental range and shoot everything I could before I'd make a purchase decision.

  40. Shot my biggest ever doe this afternoon. A buddy & I went to his place to set another ladder stand up & she wandered out 350yds into a field, daring me to take a pop at her. I obliged. The 6.5 Berger VLD did the business. I don't have a scale to weigh her, but after dressing out it took both of us to get her in the back of Tracey's truck!

  45. They don't Mike or at least I have NEVER heard of a 922r compliance check. I imagine if they ever started there would be a lot of pissed off people and right now they do not want that, way too many people already pissed off. Everyone is on the look for someone to blame and at the top of that blame is our government. They really can't take a chance.   It really is a stupid law that does NOTHING for safety or security. It only serves to grief gun owners and stifle those who are in the business of selling guns or gun related items.   Like the stupid law that says a parts kit cannot include the original barrel. Every time they pass a stupid law gun parts, and especially AK parts, get more expensive. You used to be able to buy parts kits with original barrels for a few hundred dollars but now those same kits are $600+ and if it still has the original barrel add a few more to that number. I seen an RPK kit the other day that sold for $1,200 that probably originally sold for a few hundred dollars. Krinkov kits with the original barrel are $2,000+ and still $1,500 without.   We are in for a really, really rough road over the next 3-5 years as gun owners. We are already being targeted by our government as terrorists. Even Hillary has said gun owners are terrorizing the rest of the nation and should be dealt with like terrorists. Obama just announced he will have a domestic terrorism counsel to look for "right wing extremists", those who hold racist, bigoted or anti-government views or see themselves as “sovereign citizens. They have already declared veterans should be viewed as potential terrorists. So they are going to be coming for anyone they feel is a threat to the agenda. The government has even said "right wingers" are more of a threat than ISIS or any other jihadist. So imagine the resources that will be brought to bear against us if our government thinks conservative gun owners are terrorists that are more of a threat than ISIS. So anyone who does not feed into the BS our government is doing or saying will automatically be considered a terrorist.   Every year more laws get passed to control us. Eventually it will be impossible to live as a free man and that will be the day I become a criminal.   http://www.wnd.com/2015/10/new-obama-czar-will-hunt-right-wing-extremists/ http://www.inquisitr.com/2053456/hillary-clinton-compares-gun-control-foes-to-terrorists-video/

  46. Hi Leprechaun! I recently moved my family  from (Rochester) NY to TN. Great decision, you won't regret it! There are gun shops all around, 2nd only to churches. Most shops offer the 8-hour gun-safety course for $40-45, the pre-requisite to getting licensed for carry in TN. After the course, it's a trip to the county Courthouse for permit application. FYI, you can get Class III weapons in TN. Good times! Folks here are considerably more friendly than what you and I are used to, but they do cock their head and look at you funny once you open your mouth. Casually mention you left NY to get away from all the whack-jobs and crazy politics, and they'll warm right up, and ask how cold it really gets up there. Got a friend outside Nashville (Lasscassis), also a transplant from NY. Nice country out that way. I'm outside Knoxville. Reminds me of the Finger Lakes and ADK's. Just gorgeous country here. Lush and green, fantastic weather. Have met a lot of transplants. So far we are very happy w/ the move. Feel free to ping me if you have any questions.   C'mon now, the 9's aren't THAT bad, are they really? Hollow point is still going to leave a big hole on the way out, won't it?   - K
