Every other day someone on Facebook brags about their bicycle or running marathon they do or about to do, post the mileage and route although not too many people really care that much, just hit like to be polite. Here's my Facebook marathon for the day. 11 points

On a slightly related note, I've spent the morning teaching my 4.5 yo daughter how to cast with her new Ninja Turtle fishing pole. These are the mornings that make life worth living, y'all.8 points

At my house. No pics or anything. Nothing really special or exotic. Just bragging on the fact that for the first time I got to do some shooting in my own backyard. You can't wipe the grin off my face right now.7 points

All TGO Magic knives are Boxed up and ready to go to the Post office in the morning, my arms feel like they are going to fall off, as all the sharpening is done as well, These knives came out great, I now only wish I Got myself a Damascus one as they are very cool!6 points

As it seems divorce is a national trend these days I guess I beat the odds. There was a day in my life I will always cherish. I was at the Naval Base near Chicago, cold, snowy, blustery windy day. I was headed back to post when this very cute girl stopped me to ask directions. I gave her directions and cautioned her on the not so good area we were in. I then followed her to the store. She was cute, very cute. I got her room number so we could meet later. I remembered the room number but not the barracks number. So as I was smitten with her I checked every barracks in the area until I found the right one. Key words there are the “Right one”. We dated for a while then I was so smitten I asked her to share my life permanently. She said “Yes”! That was 30 years ago today on May10th, 1986. Since then we have had ups and downs. She has put up with more than she should have. She has raised 3 great children and we have 2 grandkids! On this anniversary I wish to express my love for the ”Right one”. So maybe this is not as romantic as others have been able to express but I am alas, not a poet. Just a husband that is very proud of his wife. She has been my light and love for 30 years. I find that so hard to believe as it seems like yesterday. Happy Anniversary Jean! I love you as much today as the first frosty day we meant. I will cherish you always! And to top it off my lovely bride like's guns!5 points

Sorry, it's not a gun this time. I've been single for about 14 years. I definitely enjoyed it. I never cared about having a real relationship....until about 5 months ago. A girl I went to high school with moved to the area. We hadn't seen each other since graduation years ago. We got in contact and after a few times seeing her I knew she was who I'd been waiting for. Yesterday, I was lucky enough to marry her. Just us two in a little chapel. She wanted to go to one of those old time photo places for some 'Cowboy Wedding' pictures. Being the smart man I am I said yes dear LOL. It was actually pretty fun. Here's a pic of my beautiful bride. Life is good people. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk5 points

This is a Rifle Shop kit that is one of the most rare BP rifles out there. The kit comes with a finished barrel and breech screw. Most all the rest of the parts including the brass all come in raw dropped out of the mold condition with pour sprues sticking out. If you ever order one of their kits, spend the extra $100 and have them put the lock together. That way they will fit, finish and harden the springs and related parts. They did nice color case hardening on the frizen and other hardened parts but the rest of the lock will still need to be resurfaced from the sand blasted cast surface. The first pictures shows how I lined up the barrel wedge loops with the drill, then slip the stock on the chucked up barrel so there is an accurate guide hole drilled in the wood for the 3 barrel wedge holes. Im not a big wood work guy but I struck up a friendship with they guy I bought my home from and agreed to build this gun for him. I installed a TC touch hole liner for practical reasons. Don't start mucking up this thread with hard facts and first hand experience. Truth is completely irrelevant as it pertains to TSHTF and you know this. How many times we gotta tell you bro?4 points

I tested some 8mm loads and blew my target off its weld - but sure was nice to run in make a few round then pop back out and fire them off!3 points

Considering I ain't home all that much, I better not. It might be dangerous for anyone to show up without me being there. The wife is a crack shot and I don't figure on high odds for anyone she don't know making it very far up the drive. :lol:2 points

Bought a well used 870 Bbl Police Trade In and it was fouled nasty,no rust. Out comes the Hoppes #9 which has cleaned everything my whole life. Did not touch it,combo of lead and plastic wad. Picked up Hoppes premium and nothing. Tried a couple more name brands and zilch. Called a fellow shooter and he said try Remington 40 X Bore Cleaner, had no faith as it did not stink like the rest did. Soaked bore ten minutes with it a yellow paste and run brush and patch through it. Patch came out loaded and black with debris and was almost perfect bore. Ran one more and now like new. Good stuff.2 points

That's one thing about me fellows, you will never see me dealing anything unless it is made in the USA and the parts are not outsourced2 points

Interesting experiment. I misappropriated 6 of my wife's thick rubbery hair bands. The barrel is 28.5" Urban Rifle Supply in a Ruger 1022 receiver, Kidd bolt, Boyds stock with Rimfire Technologies bedding system, Japan vintage Tasco 8.5-32-44 AO Target Dot, DNZ one-piece scope rings, trigger by Plinker4life. Barrels, regardless of how thick, oscillate 360 degrees when the bullet is fired through it. By moving the rubber bands over the length of the barrel changes can be made in the oscillation - that is theory. I wonder if it would improve centerfire benchrest rifles? I've used rubber o-rings and rubber castration rings, but these hair bands seem to work more dramatically. I was shooting some slightly larger than one hole groups with the bands as you see them, I moved 2 up within 1" of the end of the barrel and the groups was still tight but lower. The barrel is supported in front of the receiver and has a closed cell foam barrel pressure pad 1" behind the end of the stock.1 point

If you wanted to carry folders, I'd suggest Kershaw, Gerber, Zero Tolerance, SOG, Spyderco, etc. A good automatic simply isn't cheap.1 point

Hello Fellow TGO: On Mother’s Day weekend, my two boys and I took the Tactical Carbine 2 class with Gilbert Perez at Patriot Shooting Academy in Dandridge, Tenn. I believe in the 2nd Amendment and if you have a weapon, I believe that it’s essential that one knows how to use it safely and effectively. Because the boys and I have had less trigger time with the long gun (vs pistol), we wanted to get better and know that getting training from a known expert is the way to go. After all, didn’t Luke Skywalker need Yoda? It was an awesome day. Gilbert is an expert shooting teacher, and with his watchful eye, he improved our competency by correcting our errors and showing us how to improve – shoot faster, shoot more accurately, how to transition to multiple targets, shooting on the move, how to use your sights, how to go down quickly, how to shoot more steadily, changing from rifle to pistol – What an awesome day of fun! Who needs Dollywood?!? It was a tiring day -- even my boys were tired and they are in terrific shape. Bring plenty of water. Bring knee pads, gloves, hat, and ammo. The only break we had was lunch. BTW, bring your food, to save time and convenience. Also, I must add that both of his Tactical Carbine courses (1 &2) are very affordable and worthwhile. You will also leave with a better idea on how to practice at home. I really love the rifle. It’s an awesome tool. Best of all, however, after the “Tactical Carbine 2” training class, if there are zombies, I know that my boys’ mother will be well protected. Happy Mother’s Day! Also, just to be clear, I have no financial interest in Patriot Shooting Academy.1 point

Some damage. Doubtful that it would wipe everything out. There is not enough energy available in a nuclear warhead to wipe out every semiconductor junction in the US. But, I haven't seen the movie. I have just worked with high energy electromagnetic fields and large electronic systems all my life. I have seen plenty of stuff blown up. Had to fix a lot of it myself. Lightning hitting a tower generates one hell of an electromagnetic pulse. I have had direct hits on towers that were 20-30 feet from my gear. You would be surprised what DIDN'T get killed.1 point

I've always thought you had to be a damn fool to walk out onto the street to engage in a gunfight.1 point

Tricky, this is JUST my personal opinion. The M&P's never feel quite "right" in MY hand. I cannot speak for others. The new American just fits perfectly, and the trigger is much better, to ME, than any M&P I've ever felt. Now, the Performance Center triggers are the best M&P ones I've ever felt, and while they are very good, I think the Ruger beats it pretty handily.1 point

If my neighbor did that and if I didn't live in the city limits I would tell him sorry, i'll tell my son not to fire his "bullet" air gun anymore. Then after he went back into his house I would bump fire a 30 round mag from my MAK 90 into a tree. :) NAA, I would just laugh at him and tell him to get a life but it's a fun thought anyway. I got this thing about de-pressurizing old aerosol cans with my Crossman pump with the $10 Tasco scope. "WARNING" Do not shoot one of those "Foam A Fill" cans too close to the house, it makes your siding look like it has pimples. :doh:1 point

Always thought IDPA was full of drama queens. If the IDPA crowd spent more time shooting instead of complaining they would be a whole lot better shot. ?1 point

Thanks for the AAR Glock26. It's good to hear first hand feedback on training offered in our area. I'm glad you guys enjoyed yourselves and learned something useful. Training with your boys? How awesome is that?! :up:1 point
