  1. Western country leaders lack the guts to do what needs to be done to deal with ISIS. There is no reason that ISIS should have a functioning nation within Syria. Why have the power supplies, gas lines, food, and water lines not been cut off to the ISIS cities?

  2. When I had my 20 I planned on getting the 40 barrel too. In a pinch you can shoot the 40 out of the 10 barrel, but it is hard on the extractor and reliability suffers. I ultimately ended up reloading because of the 10mm which wasn't a bad thing.

  3. I guess I should have added. I also swapped the stock as the factory one is junk. I bought a an unfinished Boyds Tacticool for $89 and painted it. I also added a cheek riser. (No, i don't shoot it off that rest. It just happened to be sitting on top of that safe )

  5. I am doing this exact same thing. The Savage trigger wins all day vs Ruger. I am ordering a Boyd's varmint stock w thumbhole in the gray/blue laminate. The factory Savage stock is garbage. Think Crossman BB gun. Blech. But the action, trigger, and barrel are top notch. And I already have a 10/22 and a bazillion mags for it... still getting the Savage.

Now for a little bit of a reality check to the rampant fear mongering hopefully from a source some of y'all will accept. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2016/07/14/national-day-of-rage-plotted-for-july-15-use-this-as-a-list-of-places-not-to-be/ It's a hoax by Anonymous. Don't let your prejudices put you on edge and cause you to make the news. Mmmkay?

  10. Hey Gents, So, I'm a huge S&W fanboy and have had a Shield for at least 3 years. Last year I bought my wife her own Shield for Christmas. We have been very happy with both of them. Well, last week I had the opportunity to get the newer Performance Center Shield. I had been putting it off getting one because honestly I didn't see the PC upgrades as that big of a deal. WRONG!! The fiber optics are SO much easier to pick up than the white dots! I didn't think a little porting would make much difference but WOWEE does it! It really helps knock down the muzzle flip. You can see in my crappy cell phone video below that my right hand doesn't rise as much and is much faster back to level. As for the trigger...oh man. The Shields generally have good triggers to start with, and I've got no complaints with the two regular models I've had, but the PC trigger is just great. A little takeup and then a perfect, crisp, 5lbish break. Short, positive reset. Clean all the way around. As you can see in the pictures of my target, I was clearly able to shoot the PC gun more accurately and consistently. The two flyers above and below the yellow circle make me very angry. That was my first magazine in through the gun, and after 3 rds on top of each other in the middle, I started giggling and pulled those two. That's 5 rds in the middle and two idiot marks outside. Just amazing. All of my shooting today was at 7 yds, standing unsupported, with a standard two hand hold. This was all cheapo Perfecta ammo from back when Wally was selling it for $7/box. In the picture with the eight targets, disregard the two on the left and the right (that top left was a 36rd mag through a full size M&P 9mm). Focus on the two yellow targets, that's the PC gun. The squares to their right are from my regular Shield, which has been my carry gun for years. Here are all the pics: 7rd at 7yds, PC model And lastly, here's the crummy cell phone video I promised. :-) I didn't realize I had a 4th rd in the PC gun on the right, that's why the slide didn't lock back. In closing, if anyone out there was on the fence out this model, jump off that fence and RUN to your closest fun shop and get it NOW! If you thought a regular Shield was "good enuff"... well... it is, but this one is better! And if anyone is looking for a fair deal on a great condition 3 yr Shield, hit me up! :-) I feel a second PC model is on the way for me soon!

  15. I've shot both a lot and owned the Ruger in several variations. I would go Ruger all day. The trigger is made to self tinker with. It is very easy to get it to < 2lbs and crisp. Using Wolf Std Vel that Ruger will really shoot. The Savage is OK, and a pretty good shooter too. Also those Ruger American Rimfire stocks are pretty good, not like the Savage plastic stocks at all. For a working rifle I would keep the Ruger stock on the gun, adjust the trigger to sub 2lbs and shock the snot out of folks who have spent serious money on chasing accuracy and reliability within certain price points. The last Ruger American .22LR I had would shoot as well as any of the several CZs I used to own. I think it would have given my late Kimber of Oregon Stainless Classic a run for its money too. I think the Ruger American .22lr is the best value in decent shooting .22s without having to break the bank. I'm thinking with a bit of tinkering it might shoot alongside the Anschutz sporters. At least as good that squirrels wouldn't know what killed them...Ruger American or Anschutz. P.S. The quality and variety of Ruger magazines can't be beat.

  19. Just turned on Sky News to get some info about this. If the military has turned against Erdogan, yet doesn't pull this off in a felt swoop, a civil war could break out. NATO and the EU have to be very worried about the 2nd and 3rd order effects from this.

  24. Gotcha. I never liked shooting my buddies 23. The recoil was snappy and just did not feel right. In the full size 20 I am sure it would be fine. 40 is cheaper than 10mm so its might not be a bad idea.

  35. Chicago is a great city for a visit. Awesome food, nice sights, and good walking once you get to the general area you want to be in. I look forward to visiting again someday since I haven't been since Uber became a thing. Will make getting around much easier/cheaper than the taxi racket. As to the danger...just avoid the trouble spots on this map that covers 2016 to date and you'll be fine.

  40. I traded in my Ruger LCP for the G43 to fill in a niche because you just never know. I really never seen the need to carry anything around here while on my property tending to the garden, chickens, cutting grass, etc. That is until I about stepped on a 'cotton mouth' twice, crossed paths with a rabid opossum (suspected anyway), had an armadillo in the chicken house and lastly had two scraggly rednecks sneak up on me way back on my property with the pretense of asking directions. Ever try a precision shot with the LCP sights, or lack there of? My G43 is a tad difficult to conceal in my pants pocket but tending my business outside that's of no concern. I do need to get some shorts / jeans with deeper pockets so I can comfortably retrieve it / conceal it better in a front pocket. I will say it's a lot easier to grab and go and carry AIWB for those quick trips to town or to the mail box, rather than strapping on a holster and dressing around it. Compared with the LCP, I'm much more accurate with the G43, I can get 75 rounds out of it at the range, compared to 50 with the LCP before my hand begs me to quit. With aggressive Talon Grips, TruGlow sights and a Ghost connector I'm more than satisfied.

  41. I rarely post here, but felt like throwing in my 2 cents. Find a class and take the course. Its worth it. I've ridden for a long time, (42 years lol), and the biggest dangers in my opinion are texting/distracted drivers. Situational awareness! Enjoy the ride but keep your head on a swivel. I've had more close calls in the last five years than all the previous years combined and I chalk it up to cell phones. Congrats on the bike! I've got a sportster 1200s with a few mods.
