I have a mix of fescue, weeds, and Bermuda. I've tried all the over-the-counter stuff, and none of it is a long term solution. It's just a neverending amount of time and money with little reward. If your neighbor's have weeds, you're gonna have weeds, and there's nothing you can do about it. If you want it to look like a golf course, hire one of the Green Lawn type companies to do the chemicals. It'll be cheaper in the long run. I gave up. It's green, I mow it, and that's good enough. Weeding the flowerbeds and tending the garden is more than enough work.2 points

Build an ark the Lord said to Noah, "In six months I'm going to make it rain until the earth is covered with water and all the evil is destroyed. I want you to build an ark and save two of each animal species. Here are the blue prints for the ark." ... six months passed ... The skys began to cloud and rain began to fall. Noah sat in his front yard weeping. "Why haven't you built the ark?", asked the Lord. "Oh forgive me", said Noah, "I tried but so many things have happened. The blue prints you gave me didn't meet the city's code and I had to change them. Then the city said I was violating the zoning ordnance by building the ark in my front yard so I had to get a variance. The Forest Service required tree cutting permits, and I was sued by an animal rights group when I tried to gather up the animals. The EPA required an environmental impact statement concerning the flood. The Army Corps of Engineers wanted a map of the proposed flood plain. The IRS seized all my assets, claiming I was trying to avoid paying taxes by fleeing the country, and the Equal Opportunity Commision said I wasn't hiring enough Croations. So, I'm sorry Lord but I can't finish the ark for at least five years!" Suddenly the rain stopped, the skys cleared and the sun began to shine. Noah looked up and said, "Lord does this mean you are not going to devastate the earth?" "Right", said the Lord,"the government already has."2 points

I looked at them long enough. I pulled the trigger on one last weekend. I'm going to try and shoot it tomorrow and I'm already looking into after market triggers and springs along with a new charging handle. The 5 30 round mags get here Friday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I just googled 223 Wylde vs 223 remington and there's a lot of info out there. Doesn't seem like it would be a problem. Example: The .223 Wylde chamber is not a caliber, it is a barrel specification. All .223 Wylde chambered rifles are capable of firing both .223 Remington and 5.56×45mm NATO ammunition.1 point

I just skimmed through the responses. One, the first frost will kill the crabgrass; it is an annual. The Bermuda will continue to take over and once it gets thick enough I recommend Roundup at a slightly diluted rate over the fescue in the middle of winter about Janury 10th. PM me and I will give you my phone number. It will be so much easier to talk.1 point

A right handed ankle holster will be for the inside of your left leg. Its a bit different at first but i have never banged my ankle gun on anything. You will be constantly looking at your ankle for about a week while wearing it though. But keep in mind no one looks at your ankles so a small bulge is not noticeable to anyone. I would like to persuade you to consider a different back up gun though. Considering your primary gun is a glock 17 you should carry a bug in a glock 26. Same exact operation and will take the spare glock 17 mags. This is my exact setup. G17 carried IWB at 4/5 o clock and a g26 in a gaclo ankle glove. My ankle gun is a backup to me and a way i can arm someone else(family, friends, stranger) if i have the need in a active shooter situation.1 point

As an alternative, I have a large firearm policy through Collectibles Insurance Company. They cover my firearms, all accessories including all my reloading equipment and the safes. All that they require is proof after the fact and they recommended pictures and serial numbers. Which I keep on 2 encrypted thumb drives (1 is backup in my parents safe). The policy autogrows yearly and is actual replacement cost. Might be worth looking into. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk1 point

It's crabgrass. I had a terrible problem with it a couple of years ago. I was told each year it grows from last years seeds. Last year, I mowed every 3 days, 4 at the most. The crab grass came up, but I never let it start the stem that the seeds grow on. This is what the chemicals are suppose to do that you buy for crabgrass. It coats the seed and stops germination they say. This year, I had very little crabgrass at all and didn't use the chems, just cut before the seeds could grow. It works, but you gotta stay on it with the mowing. The bad thing is, if your neighbor has crabgrass you will have crabgrass from the seeds blowing into your yard if they don't keep theirs cut like you do.1 point

Three years ago I lost my best friend Harley. It was so hard on us that we didn’t know if we wanted another dog or not. I think it is time. We will be looking for a puppy. The dog will be a house dog, not kept outside and treated as well as anyone could hope for. I have a very large fenced property with plenty of room to run. We have some travel plans that interfere with us doing it right now, but we will be looking for a dog we can get around Christmas. We both have plenty of time off then to spend getting our new family member acclimated to its new home. If you are aware of any pups due around this time frame; please keep me in mind. Thanks This is Harley; feel free to post picks of your kids.1 point

I'm currently puppysitting for my oldest son while he's in the process of moving. She's a 6 month old dobie mix rescue. Definitely got the doberman body and common black/tan markings. But the head shape and ears are wrong. What the rest of her is, we ain't got a clue. Although I think there may be a bit of some kind of a retriever in her as she just loves water. She likes to play in the rain and if there's a puddle anywhere around, she'll head straight for it. Also, fetch is her favorite game. But I gotta tell ya, she's wearing this old man out. At this age she's all run, jump, teeth, claws and way too much energy. She craves constant attention and is always under foot. Gotta watch her like a hawk because she's in that puppy "chew on everything" stage. Especially Me! . I know she's just playing and doesn't mean any harm, but my hands and arms look like I've been rasslin' a chainsaw. I love her, but just like a kid, she a steady source of both satisfaction and aggravation.1 point

I have always dreamed of designing and building one of the largest ranges ever built and keeping the price low enough that most families could afford to shoot on a regular basis. I would have never guessed there was a range 3.5 miles long; very impressive!1 point

A coworker has a twin barreled 10-.22 gatling gun. I've never seen it shot, but have heard tales. It most assuredly does not have a way to attach a cordless drill.1 point

A friend of my Fathers was building a replica Gatling gun that shot .22. Last I saw it, about 15 years ago, it was almost done. Looked a lot like Buds but only about 2 feet tall with 18" wheels. I should check to see if he is still alive and if he ever got it finished. Would be fun to shoot.1 point

Being R/H I use an ankle holster most of the time on my inside left ankle holding a LCP or a P238. My S&W revolver is on the hip. If you want a revolver I think the LCR would be a better choice and I know you said no more used guns but being a revolver, and a Ruger, I don't think you can go wrong with a used one plus there's plenty of used LCR's out there. Magpul's cajones were only as big as the tax breaks and offset funding they were not so subtly shopping for from other states. While the financial motive of such a move it is axiomatic, they didn't leave Colorado as an exclusive act of conscience as their PR narrative pushed. As to Smith & Wesson...it would take a lot to make them move. They've been in Springfield, MA for a long time, and it's been a good area for them. Take a look at the pictures in this article, and you'll see that it's just not a pack up and move kind of thing. Throw in the potential loss of institutional knowledge depending on how many workers wouldn't go with them if they left, and it's not worth the hassle unless it becomes an imperative. Mass won't push them to that point.1 point

I realize relocating is an expensive proposition but so is kissing the butts of politicians that think gun manufacturers are scum but willing to take their tax money. Every maker in that state is hopefully looking at options to get out of that crazy place. States like Tennessee would bend over backwards with tax breaks and incentives to encourage the move.1 point

TN_Nash_CC, this is for pocket carry, right? If so, the final limiting factor is thickness of the gun in its pocket holster, in my opinion. I'd recommend you look into making your own pocket holster out of gallon milk jug plastic and gaffer's tape (non-gluey duct tape that leaves no residue). I posted how to do this in a previous thread along with pics. I'll see if I can find it. EDITED: Here you go... I make my own pocket holsters using a one gallon water jug and gaffers tape. Here is a link to the process. http://www.thektog.org/forum/f87/milk-jug-pocket-holsters-256713/ The advantages of this for a pocket holster are... 1. They are super thin. If you want to hide something in your front pocket, the holster needs to be as thin as possible. 2. You can contour the holster to fit against your leg and to fit how you want it to fit in your pocket. I have some holsters that are longer so the gun presents higher in a really deep pocket. That is, the bottom inch or two is just pocket filler to raise the tiny gun higher in the pocket. 3. You can shape the "hook" so it becomes almost impossible for the holster to come out when you draw. I see this as a huge plus. I have to unholster the gun to remove the holster, but it can be pocketed with the weapon with no problem. 4. It's cheap... a roll of gaffers tape is $12 and the water jug is free or only a dollar if you don't have one available. You can use duct tape, but it looks awful, as you can see in the pictures in the above link. Gaffers tape doesn't leave a visible tape residue. Here's a pic from the above link showing a tiny KelTec P3-AT in a DeSantis and a Glock 26 in a milk jug holster. They are almost the same width! The P3-AT in the DeSantis holster is 1 3/16" wide... actually it's even wider until the sides are compressed in your pocket. The gun in the milk jug holster on the right is 1 5/16" wide, a barely noticeable difference in the pocket, but it's a Glock 26!1 point
