  1. Bob was sitting on the plane waiting to fly to Chicago , when a guy took the seat beside him. The guy was an emotional wreck, pale, hands shaking in fear.     "What's the matter, afraid of flying?" Bob asked.     "No, it's not that. I've  been transferred to Chicago . The people are crazy there, right? Lots of shootings, gangs, race riots, drugs, poor schools, and the highest crime rate in the nation."     Bob replied, "I've lived in Chicago all my life. It's not as bad as the media says. Find a nice home, go to work, mind your own business, and enroll your kids in a nice private school. I've worked there for 14 years and never had the slightest trouble."     The guy relaxed and stopped shaking and said, "Oh, thank you. I've been worried to death, but if you've lived and worked there all those years and say it's OK, I'll take your word for it. What do you do for a living?"         "I'm a tail gunner on a Budweiser truck."

  8. I am a Seenager. (Senior teenager)     I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 60 years later. I don't have to go to school or work. I get an allowance every month. I have my own pad. I don't have a curfew. I have a driver's license and my own car. I have ID that gets me into bars and the wine store.  I like the wine store best.       The people I hang around with are not scared of getting pregnant, they aren’t scared of anything, they have been blessed to live this long, why be scared and I don't have acne. Life is Good! Also, you will feel much more intelligent after reading this, if you are a Seenager.    Brains of older people are slow because they know so much. People do not decline mentally with age, it just takes them longer to recall facts because they have more information in their brains, scientists believe this also makes you hard of hearing as it puts pressure on your inner ear.  Much like a computer struggles as the hard drive gets full, so too, do humans take longer to access information when their brains are full.  Also, older people often go to another room to get something and when they get there, they stand there wondering what they came for.  It is NOT a memory problem, it is nature's way of making older people do more exercise.                                                     SO THERE!!    I have more friends I should send this to, but right now I can't remember their names.  So, please forward this to your friends; they may be my friends, too.

  12. Jesus Christ!!! It has been legal to open carry a handgun without a permit in Kentucky for as long as I can remember. How is this state any different? Any "blood in the streets" predictions are for complete idiots.

  13.   UUUUMMM, are we posting on the right forum? To the second part, it will not allow felons to "legally" carry a firearm of any kind or to even possess a firearm of any kind. And who are we to judge who is responsible or not to carry a handgun? I know people, and i'm sure we all know someone who we "wish" didn't own a firearm but it's not my place or anyone else's to tell the masses who should or should not carry. That's punishing everyone for the idiocy of the few.   And, it's called the Bill Of RIGHTS, not the Bill Of PRIVILEGES.

  16. Absolutely Brilliant !!!       COSTELLO:  I want to talk about the unemployment rate in America  .   ABBOTT: Good Subject.  Terrible Times.  It’s 5.6%.   COSTELLO:  That many people are out of work?   ABBOTT: No, that’s 23%.     COSTELLO: You just said 5.6%.   ABBOTT:  5.6% Unemployed.   COSTELLO:  Right 5.6% out of work.    ABBOTT: No, that’s 23%.   COSTELLO: Okay, so it’s  23% unemployed.   ABBOTT: No, that’s 5.6%.    COSTELLO:  WAIT A MINUTE. Is it 5.6% or 23%?    ABBOTT: 5.6% are unemployed.  23% are out of work.    COSTELLO: If you are out of work you are unemployed.    ABBOTT:  No, Obama said you can’t count the “Out of Work” as the unemployed.  You have to look for work to be unemployed.   COSTELLO: BUT THEY ARE OUT OF WORK!!!    ABBOTT: No, you miss his point.   COSTELLO:  What point?   ABBOTT:  Someone who doesn’t look for work can’t be counted with those who look for work. It wouldn’t be fair.    COSTELLO: To whom?   ABBOTT: The unemployed.     COSTELLO: But ALL of them are out of work.     ABBOTT: No, the unemployed are actively looking for work. Those who are out of work gave up looking and if you give up, you are no longer in the ranks of the unemployed.    COSTELLO: So if you’re off the unemployment roles that would count as less unemployment?   ABBOTT: Unemployment would go down. Absolutely!   COSTELLO: The unemployment just goes down because you don’t look for work?   ABBOTT: Absolutely it goes  down. That’s how it gets to 5.6%. Otherwise it would be 23%.   COSTELLO: Wait, I got a question for you. That means there are two ways to bring down the unemployment number?     ABBOTT: Two ways is correct.   COSTELLO: Unemployment can go down if someone gets a job?   ABBOTT: Correct.   COSTELLO: And unemployment can also go down if you stop looking for a job?   ABBOTT: Bingo.     COSTELLO: So there are two ways to bring unemployment down, and the easier of the two is to have people stop looking for work.   ABBOTT: Now you’re thinking like a Democrat.    COSTELLO:  I don’t even know what the hell I just said!     ABBOTT: Now you’re thinking like Hilary

  17. So you wouldn't help innocent, unarmed people because you can't be hailed as a hero like a police officer would? You think that should be the motivation for preserving life and protecting those who can't protect themselves? Also, to your comment about being shot by police, of course it's possible. However, it's also possible you'll be shot by the bad guy. If you're willing to risk being shot by a bad guy to protect innocents, why wouldn't you be willing to risk being shot by the good guy? The end result is the same. I just can't fathom standing by while innocent people are murdered and having the ability to stop it, yet only being concerned about myself and letting them die. Maybe I'm just wired differently than many of you. Maybe I was raised differently. But I can't believe you'd live your life without extreme guilt if you did something so incredibly selfish. For those of you with families, you aren't there 24/7 by their side to protect them. I know I'm not. How would you feel if your wife or child was facing certain death, and the only person there who could stop it said, "F*** them, I gots mine!" I just can't fit this way of thinking into my head. It's cowardly. I mean that.

  19. I built mine from PSA parts and got into it for $550.00 including magazines. Run's like a champ. Mine is a 10.5" but my Buddy is running a 16". These are both running Colt SMG magazines. DMARK, a member on this site also has some nice AR 9's running Colt mags. That being said, in my circle all of my Compadre's bitch about their carbines that are running a Glock magazine setup. With failures to feed and battery issues. I'm not talking about reading on the internet issues.I have owned two Hi Point 9 carbines and they were great. I just wished someone would make a great hi cap magazine.

  24. Trust me, Arab Christians drink. I've been to a couple of Christian weddings in Iraq. First off, they party better than most American weddings I've been to. Secondly, they drink.... a lot; and they want you to drink more. Third, if I hadn't already met the love of my life, I would have walked out of one of those weddings with a new wife.

  25. Reasons I reload:   1.  I just plain enjoy the hobby.  It's almost mind-numbingly relaxing after a hard day.  Just turn the stereo on with my favs from the 80's and a big glass of sweet tea and I'm off to the races.   2.  It don't matter who is president if I have a big ole bucket of brass, a keg of carefully chosen powder, a couple thousand bullets and some hoarded up primers.  Ammo can disappear from the shelves for a while but I can keep on enjoying my shooting.   3.  Sometimes, I get just a little weird and want to make a unique combination of ammo.  Recently, I wanted to see how quiet a cast 9mm I could load for a pistol cal carbine without sticking a bullet.  I was able make one that would clear the barrel, regularly hit the target at 20 yards and sounded no louder than a finger-snap.  (gave me a big smile)  You can't buy stuff like that.   4.  I like reloading!  (Oh, I mentioned that before.)  You see, I didn't mention saving money.  I don't save money.  My hobbies are not about saving money.  My hobbies give me pleasure and if I can afford them then the money is not the issue.   So, the more important question you might think on would be, "Would I enjoy reloading for it's own sake?"  Give it a try, you might find you really like it, too.

  26. I am bummed. The day I left for marine corps boot camp, "somebody's gonna hurt someone blared on the radio in the recruiters van,as we departed to fly to Parris island SC. For boot camp. The day I got out, "already gone" was blaring on my radio as I rolled out of the main gate at camp Lejeune for the very last time. 31. No, nor should you unless he's between you and door. If you can get your loved ones out, get them out. That's really selfish, but that's life. Doesn't mean if his head is wide open and an easy shot with no chance of collateral damage, I would NOT take the shot, just that I'm all about me and mine first. So should everyone else.

  32. Hmm, so an outlawish duck dynasty type deal I guess. I could dig that. I still haven't gotten my internet up and burned through a lot of data last month so I didn't watch the clip BTW :p Although if you want to talk loosing faith, when I moved I "got the last of the ammo" out no less than three times  . Even then on the last few days I found near a gallon sized ziplock worth of a box of .22 or three, some mosin ammo, misc pistol and rifle rounds, and a 100 round value pack of 12 gauge birdshot. :stunned: Luckily at my new place I have room to spread out some. Hopefully confining the ammo to one room for storage will work out if I can actually dedicate some real space to it and get it organized. Maybe I can even start reloading finally.

  34. Well, mines built on a QC10 lower and sports a pinned 14.5" barrel for the time being. Form 1 will be sent off here pretty soon I think. Runs great, although I admit I had a problem with the BHO in the beginning. It's my favorite firearm to shoot by far right now. I also have a Hipoint 9mm carbine that's great for shooting cheap steel case and not cleaning :) Pretty crappy picture

  35. I think it should be recognized as a right but doubt to see that anytime soon. It is upheld that certain actions can take rights away from criminals, so this wouldn't allow criminals to run around with guns, just like criminals don't have the rights to purchase a gun legally now. Optimistically, I would love to see constitutional carry but doubt we'll see it in TN anytime soon. Overall I submit to the idea of paying for privileges/rights and do just that so I can drive and carry legally in TN. The biggest issue I have with the current HCP setup in Tennessee is the time and monetary burdens that it imposes. I don't think we should be so restrictive so that someone who feels they are in immediate harm cannot carry a handgun for their issue. A woman feels threatened by her new ex-boyfriend? As long as she coughs up ~$60 for a class and then $115 for the application fee and then waits 3-6 weeks, she can carry legally! If constitutional carry were passed in Tennessee, I think a voluntary permit system should still stay in place so that reciprocity can still be established in cooperating states. It would be a form of income for the state and anyone interested enough in carrying while traveling would likely be happy to do so. What constitutional carry would do is allow people in their own state be armed while out and about. On the flipside, ultimately the "safety course" doesn't really go that far in actually helping people. I doubt many people leave that class being much more intelligent or safer than before they attended. Also, there are many people who have taken the HCP Safety Course and I still would not want to be around them at the range .Some people are careless and think they know better and nothing will prevent them from exercising Darwinism. For opponents of this bill, I think it would be worth noting states that have allowed constitutional carry. They have not turned into the bloodbaths like we are told they would, just like TN hasn't turned into a bloodbath over the vehicle carry issue recently.

  36. I'd rather see bills reducing the restrictions on people with handgun carry permits.  In an ideal world, we could all open carry a gun anywhere we wanted to.  The legislature likes the permit system because of the revenue, whether we like it or not.  We should then work with that permit system to cut the restrictions on it.

  37. I hate gun control as much or more than anybody. With that said, temporarily restraining somebody that has gone totally apeshit doesn't bother me so much. Temporary inconvenience is 99% of what the government does. It bothers me a lot more that nonviolent "felons" lose their rights forever. Of course, plenty of room for abuse, especially in a place like Oregon.    So, if your drunk uncle bites the head off your chihuahua, keep him out of the gun store until he at least apologizes.

  40. It's very difficult to quote, and I have never been able to copy and paste. I have heard a few others talking about it as well. It is difficult to find someone's location; you have to dig deep into their profile to see a location. Maybe it is just not Apple friendly; all my tech gadgets are Apple and Mac.

  41.   Question is, what real advantage does it have over any other snub nose .357? So it looks different, well it's a 6 shot instead of 5 but I see snub nose .357's as a close and personal, a few feet, draw fast and shoot fast handgun. Fancy sights on a snub? Is that really an advantage? Maybe a few ounces lighter is nicer for carry but adds to recoil. I see a snub as a good weapon to draw and unload if you are in physical contact with someone, with your left hand busy holding back the bad dudes hand with the knife in a car jacking scenario etc. It's just my opinion, i'm far from being a gun or self defense expert but I just see the snub nose as it is. I like mine in certain situations, mainly when concealability is the issue and I still feel like i'm armed. That being said I go from one extreme to another carrying a snub sometimes to a Glock 21, just depending where I go and how I dress.

  42. It is my personal mission to take people out that have never shot anything before (especially kids) and let them shoot what I have. It is the only way to defeat the propaganda and lies floated by the gun control ( insert your favorite euphemism). My grandson recently went through 600 rounds of 5.56 on a three day visit with me, plus some kind gentleman at the range let him shoot his suppressed AR. That is how one demolishes the gun control argument. One person at a time. Future voters. Next generation. I don't care what it costs me.

  43. Competitive shooting adds a whole 'nuther set of variables. The gag-a-maggot cost of a Dillion will wash out eventually with competitive shooting. The major advantage in competitive shooting is consistency. You dial in a load for your pistol and after some extensive testing, your ready to rock. Buying ammo for competitive shooting is barking mad. What happens when the buying panic hits again and you can't get the load that works best for you? I highly doubt many serious competitive shooters buy their ammo. Well, not until you're big enough for a sponsor anyway.

Caught one over 40lb on  Jig rig on the Sh-t Hole on Old Hickory Lake and I had a good fight for about 25 minutes and I ended up just letting the fish drag the boat till it turned belly up and died from stress and fight. Most of the bigger ones that fight that hard end up dying. Gave the fish to a guy on the bank that was fishing for the table just so it would not go to waste. The guy was sure happy to get it....................

  46. I think your're worrying about it too much. As for your friend's mags, different magazines will feel differently, it only matters if it functions reliably. I have magazines that I can barely fully load with many rounds through them and I have magazines that a child could load and are 100% reliable. Downloading a magazine can be helpful if a fully loaded magazine is difficult to seat on a closed slide or bolt. Grab at least one other magazine, especially if you are carrying it. The vast majority of semi auto pistol malfunctions are magazine related and the quickest way to clear some of those malfunctions is with a fresh mag. Have fun!
