If you're my equal or my superior in the workplace, and I frequently have to hold your hand and show you how to do your job...I'm going to hate you, that's all there is to it. I'm not talking about training a new employee or helping you the first time you come into a new situation. I'm talking about the "you ought to know better" crowd. This has been a friendly workplace PSA ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk11 points

As it seems divorce is a national trend these days I guess I beat the odds. There was a day in my life I will always cherish. I was at the Naval Base near Chicago, cold, snowy, blustery windy day. I was headed back to post when this very cute girl stopped me to ask directions. I gave her directions and cautioned her on the not so good area we were in. I then followed her to the store. She was cute, very cute. I got her room number so we could meet later. I remembered the room number but not the barracks number. So as I was smitten with her I checked every barracks in the area until I found the right one. Key words there are the “Right one”. We dated for a while then I was so smitten I asked her to share my life permanently. She said “Yes”! That was 30 years ago today on May10th, 1986. Since then we have had ups and downs. She has put up with more than she should have. She has raised 3 great children and we have 2 grandkids! On this anniversary I wish to express my love for the ”Right one”. So maybe this is not as romantic as others have been able to express but I am alas, not a poet. Just a husband that is very proud of his wife. She has been my light and love for 30 years. I find that so hard to believe as it seems like yesterday. Happy Anniversary Jean! I love you as much today as the first frosty day we meant. I will cherish you always! And to top it off my lovely bride like's guns!8 points

Every other day someone on Facebook brags about their bicycle or running marathon they do or about to do, post the mileage and route although not too many people really care that much, just hit like to be polite. Here's my Facebook marathon for the day. 7 points

Been a loooong time since I last had access to a workshop, but I had a fun day today! Got this hunter profiled, ground & heat treated. O1 steel 3/16 thick. 4¼" blade fully flat ground at 62RWC. 5½" handle. I'm just waiting on some bar stock to come in for the pins, but I'll be handling it with blaze orange G10 with blue & white liners.3 points

I feel the same way for the 1/2 marathon and marathon stickers on cars. I've thought of getting a bumper sticker saying no one cares how far you ran. :shrug:3 points

Yep, that's very much a lib point of view -- free speech, as long as it agrees with mine. - OS3 points

Sorry, it's not a gun this time. I've been single for about 14 years. I definitely enjoyed it. I never cared about having a real relationship....until about 5 months ago. A girl I went to high school with moved to the area. We hadn't seen each other since graduation years ago. We got in contact and after a few times seeing her I knew she was who I'd been waiting for. Yesterday, I was lucky enough to marry her. Just us two in a little chapel. She wanted to go to one of those old time photo places for some 'Cowboy Wedding' pictures. Being the smart man I am I said yes dear LOL. It was actually pretty fun. Here's a pic of my beautiful bride. Life is good people. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk3 points

If not for the wife saying "hell no!" I'd be building a house out of them. I've used them in a professional capacity several times and they work quite well as storage. As an added bonus, once you get the house built you can always find designs online to plumb and run power to the conex and turn it into a workshop or whatever.2 points

Congratulations and keep up whatever you two are doing. In two weeks I will celebrate my 50th with my wife and two daughters. I know a lot of guys that have been married 50 years but not to the same woman !2 points

I am not planning on building a precision AR, but I am planning on building a AR in the future. As someone who has never attempted it, these videos are great and set up an excellent blue print. Thanks for posting.2 points

Hello everyone, My wife and I are moving from Minnesota to Butler, TN in June. We've been vacationing in the area for about 8 - 10 years and decided to move. I won't miss the Minnesota winters, taxes, bad roads and liberal politicians. I'm pretty new at being a gun owner. I think when I receive my TN drivers license, I will go buy another handgun, just because I can (without needing a carry permit or permit to purchase a handgun). We might even take up fly fishing. The plan is to rent a house in Butler, find work (Bristol, Kingsport, Johnson City area) then buy a house with a few acres. Hopefully with a good spot for a pistol range. My wife loves shooting our 9mm. Said we might need to buy a S&W Governor, just in case she sees a snake. ;-) Bill1 point

For that size of a unit, I'd call around and see what it'd cost to charge it. If it were a cheap 5k btu unit then I'd just replace it.1 point

Thank you, Willis! Picked mine up from him today and am beyond pleased. This is my first Protech. Aside from being aesthetically pleasing, the opening mechanism is a blast, the deep carry pocket clip is exactly what I like, and the size is perfect. I hope everyone enjoys this as much as I am. And yes, I had to rub it in that I already have this in hand since I live so close to Willis!1 point

The average intelligence of the human race gets lower by the day. I work for a big box store and have employees here that we are lucky they can tie there own shoes. Not sure they all can.I had a manager over a different department one time, that I had to show 6 times how to do the same task. The 7th Time I told her not to even ask.1 point

You do realize that you can't stifle someone's view just because it's different from yours, right? That's liberal logic, exactly as OS said. You can call them a no good stupid pinko commie, but you don't get to decide who stays and goes based on opinion.1 point

Sadly, my friend, I agree with you. The uncle, whether he once had legal custody or not, has a strange look about him. I know, I shouldn't judge upon appearances, but I was a little freaked by him.1 point

The problem with a civil case is that if you were justified you probably won’t have any court action or rulings saying that; the DA just won’t charge you. That doesn't mean you were justified. The other problem is that you still have to pay your attorney. You may get a judgement against the person that sues you, but that doesn’t mean they will pay. If they don’t have it; you don’t get paid. The ammunition issue is comical. Were you justified in the use of deadly force is the issue. Can you use reloads? Of course. But why in the world would anyone want to. Go to the reloading section and look at all the problems they have. No one can make a more reliable round than a high quality self-defense round from one of the leading manufacturers that have been doing it forever. Anyone that truly believes they may have to use a gun in a self-defense shooting will want a quality gun with quality ammunition.1 point

I hope you're right but I don't believe so. People who genuinely care about a child's welfare will involve social services and cops. If this guy had a legitimate issue, that's what he would have done. Good people do not snatch up kids and vanish like a fart in the wind. If anyone ever sees this little one alive again it will surprise me. God, I really want to be surprised, but when it comes to the hearts of men, I'm not surprised much any more.1 point

This is a Rifle Shop kit that is one of the most rare BP rifles out there. The kit comes with a finished barrel and breech screw. Most all the rest of the parts including the brass all come in raw dropped out of the mold condition with pour sprues sticking out. If you ever order one of their kits, spend the extra $100 and have them put the lock together. That way they will fit, finish and harden the springs and related parts. They did nice color case hardening on the frizen and other hardened parts but the rest of the lock will still need to be resurfaced from the sand blasted cast surface. The first pictures shows how I lined up the barrel wedge loops with the drill, then slip the stock on the chucked up barrel so there is an accurate guide hole drilled in the wood for the 3 barrel wedge holes. Im not a big wood work guy but I struck up a friendship with they guy I bought my home from and agreed to build this gun for him. I installed a TC touch hole liner for practical reasons. I also frequent Primary Arms and AIM Surplus. Like PSA, you can find deals if you have time to wait for a holiday sale. I have seen a decent price from time to time at JoeBob Outfitters too. Best of luck, $400 is hard to hit without buying Chinese knockoff parts on eBay, LOL. Then again, at least you're skipping the stock :D1 point
