  2. Honestly I think just about anything you cook up in 5.56x45 is gonna be pretty bright out of a barrel that short. Maybe a combo of reduced load with a better flash suppressor...

  3. I may have said this in another topic but I'll say it again : After living through the "Clinton Assault weapon ban" in 1991-2004 , I may have one gun that only holds 10 rounds , but just one. If I can help it , most of my 9mm's will be the type that can accept larger mags like the G26 that can accept a Glock 33rd magazine. I don't wear a "tin Foil hat" but it sure seems like a lot of companies are going to slim single stack 10 rounds or less and not doing anything with the glock 26 types. I know people want thin and small but after being limited to only 10 rounds at the most from 1994 to 2004 , I'm gonna stick with my double stacks even if they are a bit thick. I still have my itty bitty small guns like my Ruger LCPII and such but my bread and butter are my G26 , G30 , and XD9SC . They are small but can accept it's full size brother's magazines.

  4. I have a Craftsman. I don’t use it a lot, but I’ve had it for years and it’s always done the job. It seems well made for a low cost drill press.

  5. When I was six my father was attacked in our neighbors kitchen by her much larger ex-husband. My father reached for anything he could get his hands on and found a 1 liter returnable glass Coke bottle. I can still see that guy stumbling out of that kitchen with blood everywhere. Later my father sat me down to talk about it, this is all I remember of what he said... ”Son, there’s no such thing as a fair fight.”

  6. I picked mine up this morning. As I took it apart and oiled it I realized it was unnecessary as it was going to the safe not the range.

  7. Picked this one up today, Beretta 92G Tennessee limited edition. Had no idea they were made until a fellow board member posted a pic, and then helped me find one after my searches came up empty!!

  8. The Halls one, and I'm reasonably sure I've seen them at the Dixie Lee Junction location as well.

  9. LOL! That's pretty much my decision as well. I have to say I'm really not a Beretta 92/96 fan. Just too big and heavy for me to be comfortable with, but like others, I kept thinking I'd like one of the Gallatin, Tn, marked pistols. This fit the bill, and with all the added features...just too good to pass up. In comparing notes and inferences here from other buyers, I believe I paid about the high intro price on mine. I was pretty dejected until I started looking and saw that I got the Vol/Tn Edition for about what a standard 92 was going for retail. Sure I could look and see prices all over the spectrum, but in the end...I realized I bought a safe queen. I've accepted that. And my wife says it's ok.

  10. Amen, brother. In spite of myself, and all my stupid decisions, my wife has stayed with me; acting as a rudder and holding me on some semblance of a true course in life.

  11. I was thinking the same thing, Runco. My wife just came in to ask what I was doing and I told her I was looking at the latest Sears Toy Catalog. She just shook her head and left. Frowning a bit, I must tell you. As far as this Sig catalog...it is very much mind boggling to me. Way too much info for an old man to absorb this early on a dreary Saturday morning. lol I did find the grip modules for the 320 pistols, and the laser modules especially caught my eye. A 320 compact with an integral laser is very, very interesting. A lot of information, pretty awesome presentation package too.

  12. Because Chicago is in Illinois (unfortunately for the rest of the state) and Illinois has carry permits.

  13. That catalog brought back memories of strolling through the toy section of the Sears & Roebuck catalogs in the 70s the Christmas version. Lots of things I would circle. However, I am with you I would not trade any of my W. German guns for any item there, but I would trade some greenbacks for a few items.

  15. They can't hold a candle to all the fertilizer that comes out of those politicians.

  16. Ya'll do know the difference in a Democrat and a Republican? 0, absolutely nothing. They are politicians, if their lips are moving, really good chance they are lying. The liberal left and the "conservative right" yeah right. The republicans have done absolutely nothing to make good laws. Oh you do know that if they make a law all the criminals will automatically obey them. Just like they are now obeying all the gun laws and such on the books. Even the illegal aliens are obeying the law and are not crossing the border illegally. I was thinking today that Pelosi and Schumer would have been tarred & feathered then hung for treasonist acts against the U.S.A. But that was back when the PEOPLE actually did run the country. Sorry for the long rant guys. Fed up with the whole flippin lot of them. My chickens are more valuable than the politicians, they give me eggs, cluck at me when they see me coming and they give me valuable fertilizer for my garden.

  17. Oh, get one with the depth adjustment on an external slider rather than the ones with it built into the plunge lever. Easier to fiddle with.

  18. I used this for a while, but wanted a self standing model so I sold it, but for a light benchtop drill press, it was fine. I agree with the one review that the motor could be stronger overall, but it drilled through anything I needed. I also have a mill, so I didn't use it for metal. https://www.amazon.com/WEN-4214-12-Inch-Variable-Speed/dp/B00HQONFY6 Adding: If I was to buy a desktop model today and was willing to spend the money, I would go for something like this. https://www.amazon.com/Jet-716200-Jdp-15B-Bench-Drill/dp/B01C9TW88Q/ref=asc_df_B01C9TW88Q/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309813767497&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12686838416077142355&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9013636&hvtargid=pla-569156788041&psc=1 Reason being is the table size and flexibility and a better motor.

  22. As I believe TGO David is suggesting, this and all other activities by the Enemies of Freedom should be vigorously opposed. Just because their efforts have failed in the past doesn't mean they always will. Remember that the first "assault" weapons ban passed, and its supporters would love to see it back in place. Remember also that the administration of our current president, who was once a gun-grabbing Democrat, has already imposed the bump stock ban. They are not our friends.

  26. I've been shooting 1911s for about 35 years now. I've used every kind of magazine from dirt cheap to top of the line. While some people love 'em, I've never really cared much for McCormack mags. The only magazines I use for competition or carry are Wilson Combat. Absolutely reliable. There is no better.

  27. Not yoga pants, but I will confess thtrying on a pair of my wife's maternity pants. Fit pretty damn good. They should market them to potbellied men. I guess that's what overalls are for.

  29. Nice write up Bud. You are correct, we are very similar in our sales philosophy. The one difference is I like to mess with the low ballers. I usually email them back and say I can’t do that but I can do this, which is higher than the listed price. Lol
