  1. He has rejoined Vicki and Sammy. Also, F UCK Lon Horiuchi’s murdering ass. I have a policy of not dancing on graves but I look forward to hearing about him rotting in hell.

  9. What a timely post! I just read on another forum yesterday that FBI agents paid a visit to a guy who made a disparaging remark about Horiuchi. Ain’t that something? The moral of this story is the commie bassturds are monitoring hunting forums. Don’t post anything you can’t defend in court.

  11. Hey there my friend. That’s tough news brother, tough news. I’m going to add your sweet mother, and you also, to my prayers each morning and night. I’m going to pray for her comfort, for her peace, and also for her caretakers. For you, Moped, I’m going to ask the Lord to comfort you, to strengthen you, to give you assurance, and also that He might Bless you during this very difficult time. I know exactly just how difficult of a situation that you’re facing, and I just want to encourage you and, perhaps, inform you as well. My information is just this: you have a friend who’ll listen if you ever want or need to talk about it….any of it. On a supernatural level, you have God….and on a much, much lower plane of existence, there’s me!. I’m no social worker and have no special skills, but I’m willing to lend an ear if you should ever need one. I love to talk guns and that’s what brought me here, but I’ll talk about the difficult things as well…with anyone, actually. In the meantime, though, I’ll be praying. I keep an old notebook beside me because otherwise I’m afraid I’ll forget, but when I tell someone I’m gonna pray, I make sure that I do…it’s one thing I try to get right. Thanks for sharing with me.

  14. Driving up I40 yesterday heading to my kid’s baseball tournament, I spied a quite attractive girl pulled over on the shoulder, digging around in her car’s trunk while wearing shorts that could better be described as a thin belt with her azz cheeks prominently displayed. She was parked conveniently next to a wooded area where one couldn’t see what I expect was a group of thugs ready to take advantage of the first dumb guy who was generous enough to stop and offer help. I told the wife that reminded me of the fake deer game wardens place in fields to attract road hunters. I was surprised to not see the after effects of this display on the news this morning. Sorry guys. I was running 80 in traffic and decided against my better judgement to not get out the phone and snap a pic. Perhaps I’m just cynical anymore, but it sure looked like a trap to me.

  19. JD....this is awesome brother. As soon as my eyes stop leaking and I can see my screen again I'll share my story. Summary, lost my biological father when I was 16 to suicide (tough age to go through that) and my step-Dad (the man who raised me and whom I give credit to for the man I am today....good and bad) died of a major heart attach while I was in Basic Training. Like I said, as soon as my eyes dry up a bit from reading y'all's stories, I'll elaborate on mine. God bless you guys. This is really cool.

  20. Many people consider the Colt Series 70 to be the peak of the 1911. Excellent quality, beautiful finish and great shooters. They are very desirable. The trigger might have been replaced. The MSH was definitely replaced as these came with an arched housing. The big question is does it have the collet type barrel bushing? The 70 Series Government Model should have one. If you're unfamiliar with them, this type bushing has slots cut in it and grips the barrel a bit snugger via spring type action. It greatly improves accuracy, but can be troublesome. If one of the ears breaks off, it can tie up the gun and is a major PITA to get the slide off to repair. Usually requiring a lot of cussing and a big hammer. However, the problem isn't near as common as the internet would have you think. A properly fitted collet bushing will improve accuracy and last forever. The issue seems to result from poorly fitted bushings at the factory. Some people choose not to take chances and simply replace the bushing with a solid one. My own Series 70 GM and GC both still have the original collet bushings in them and shoot great! Colt prices are all over the map these days. Original Series 70 guns are especially wild. Best guess, $1200 -1500. But could be as high as $2000. What's the asking price?

  21. Just beware as you seat them deeper PRESSURE will go up. Not sure where you powder charge is at in low, mid or near max ? Watch for pressure signs. Depending on if and how you may have crimped them, if your bullets are not to soft you could try seating them down a little more. just take your time and be sure the Primers are all seated below the case. Ive had to bump a few loaded rounds n the past to a shorter OAL and had good success. I did this on a single stage press, not a progressive. Be safe, wear eye protection when reloading. Mike

  22. Sounds familiar. I think the only time I've watched TV this year was when I watched the Masters on Sunday. I have a friend who works four days a week, has no kids, and sends me Instagram stuff all the time, but says he doesn't have time to do XYZ

  23. Just where do people get the time to check all the sites. I get up, fix 1 cup of coffee, check local news on the tube. Check the world news on the interweb, check e-mail, check in on the site here. By that time it is time to get ready for work. Get home, IF I am not worn out from work I get out and work around house. Come in and get cleaned up, eat supper, check the local and world news on the tube, check in here. Them it is time for bed, just where do people find time.

  29. I agree in general, when I was working I invest every payday automatically. Did it through the 2000 crash just changed what I was buying to get more diversified since I had way too much tech. Was already retired during the 2008 crash and my asset allocations and diversity let me sail through with no lost sleep. The waiting I was referring too is some people wait for dips. If the chart can be believed the dip may have a few months to go. Being retired I don't have new money to invest but do have some cash on the side from doing some asset rebalancing. It may stay on the side but if the dip is big enough I will need to rebalance assets again.

  30. Ha, thanks gents. Clearly some good community going on around here. hipower, as far as I understand the gen 5 slides will only work with the gen 5 frames... but there may be some aftermarket frames that work or some fiddling you can do with a p80 frame that allows the gen 5 slide to fit. Others likely know much more about that than me. Have a great day all.

  32. You’re welcome, sir. Hope it helped, I really do. Hey Kip, do you see this feller’s post here above this one? HiPower? There’s the man you’ll want to listen to for great advice! It is because of him, and the positive, powerful influence that his encouragement has had on me, that I ever replied to you in the first place. I’m being totally honest here. Sure, it was the similarities with my own thoughts and feeling that spoke to my heart, but it was the kindness and wisdom of HiPower’s own words to me, and of course their positive effect in my own life, that was the impetus for my response to you; sometimes you simply must “pay it forward”, you catch my drift? Again, best of luck and thank you for your kind words to me (especially the part about it being entertaining…flattery shall get you everywhere with me!), everyone likes to hear when they’ve done a solid, which is quite rare for me, so, if you don’t mind I’d like to have it printed on a t-shirt to wear in front of my wife!

  35. Man, what a great post. Hugely entertaining and helpful. I was mainly just messing around with my mini rant post but you seem like a good dude and I appreciate the thoughts. For now I'll keep pressing on and being patient.

  36. Well….since you offered… Looking back, I see you’ve had some interest, so maybe you should just press on? Heck, you know what you paid for it and what you need to get out of it, so stand firm with the price you require. It is a pretty common firearm, so there’s bound to be someone come along who has the same idea that you did when you decided to buy it and they’ll see your listing and give you a holler. You know, for me it’s more about laziness. I’ve got a pistol that I know for a fact I’ve got a buyer for if I would just reassemble and oil it! Gosh that’s so pathetic, I know, I told you I’m just a salted slug. If you can purchase a lower and assemble a firearm out of it that costs less than a new one, maybe you would have more luck that way? I see you here you’ve got perfect feedback for an extremely respectable amount of meets with other users (I certainly envy you!) and you come across as an intelligent firearm owner in your posts elsewhere so I just wanted to give you some encouragement. I think you’re just doing what most people do in this situation which is second guess yourself a bit because it hasn’t sold. Totally 100% normal if you ask me…and you kinda did…in a way, sort of? Heck man, I’m not sure if this helps at all…but when I detected a bit of frustration from you, well my heart just went out to you is all. I recognized a bit of my own internal monologue going on there and thought I’d sound off here simply to give you encouragement…it’s really that simple…everything else was just trying to brainstorm it with you. Best of luck, sir.

  37. I'm a big name "52 week low" stock buyer/ watcher. Watching Zillow, Disney carefully. Made out pretty good during Covid scare buying fast and mid range restaurant stocks. Won't comment on specific politics but if you're not plugged into political situation and so called news don't get into stock picking. Crisis time is buy time but... Don't gamble more than you're ready to lose.

  38. So am I the only person who’s Instagram feed is full of close-up videos of people popping blackheads, ingrown hairs and other gross things? And why in the name of all that is good, do I keep watching them? They are like a train-wreck, you don’t what to look, but you just have to. I think I need to ask my Dr. to up my meds.
