https://www.facebook.com/pages/Olympic-Arms-Inc/114264921930723?fref=ts Press Release: Olympic Arms, Inc. Announces New York State Sales Policy FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Olympic Arms is a staunch believer in and defender of the Constitution of the United States, and with special attention paid to the Bill of Rights that succinctly enumerates the security of our Divinely given Rights. One of those Rights is that to Keep and Bear Arms. Legislation recently passed in the State of New York outlaws the AR15 and many other firearms, and will make it illegal for the good and free citizens of New York to own a large selection of legal and safe firearms and magazines. We feel as though the passage of this legislation exceeds the authority granted to the government of New York by its citizens, and violates the Constitution of the United States, ignoring such SCOTUS rulings as District of Columbia v. Heller - 554, U.S. 570 of 2008, McDonald v. Chicago - 561 U.S. 3025 of 2010, and specifically the case of United States v. Miller – 307 U.S. 174 of 1939. Due the passing of this legislation, Olympic Arms would like to announce that the State of New York, any Law Enforcement Departments, Law Enforcement Officers, First Responders within the State of New York, or any New York State government entity or employee of such an entity - will no longer be served as customers. In short, Olympic Arms will no longer be doing business with the State of New York or any governmental entity or employee of such governmental entity within the State of New York - henceforth and until such legislation is repealed, and an apology made to the good people of the State of New York and the American people. If the leaders of the State of New York are willing to limit the right of the free and law abiding citizens of New York to arm themselves as they see fit under the Rights enumerate to all citizens of the United State through the Second Amendment, we feel as though the legislators and government entities within the State of New York should have to abide by the same restrictions. This action has caused a division of the people into classes: Those the government deems valuable enough to protect with modern firearms, and those whose lives have been deemed as having less value, and whom the government has decided do not deserve the right to protect themselves with the same firearms. Olympic Arms will not support such behavior or policy against any citizen of this great nation. Olympic Arms invites all firearms manufacturers, distributors and firearms dealers to join us in this action to refuse to do business with the State of New York. We must stand together, or we shall surely fall divided. Sincerely, Brian Schuetz President Olympic Arms, Inc. I can only hope more companies join LaRue and Oylmpic Arms and start a ban on sales to rogue State and Local Governments. What would be great is if ALL manufacturers of firearms and accessories and do this!!!8 points

Let me start by saying casting is fun and makes shooting less expensive. It is also very satisfying to know you took raw materials, or what is essentially that, and created a bullet from scratch. It is another facet of reloading that is just a normal progression for most people who shoot a lot and reload. With that being said use precautions if you cast anything using lead. Do whatever you can to minimize exposure. And if you do cast make sure to check your levels to ensure your precautions are enough. I thought mine were enough but they were not. The test costs less than $100 and ensures you know exactly where you stand. What happened to me: I have been casting for about a year. I have never really spent more than 20-30 minutes every week or so casting. I have always felt fine and I did take precautions by wearing a mask. That is the way I have been casting for this past year. Then things changed the first week of January when I got a new bullet mold. It was of a bullet I designed for use with the 300 Blackout. And because I was so excited about the caliber, and my new mold, I needed to cast morethan I have even cast before. At this time I substantially ramped up my casting. And I think it was during this time I increased my exposure beyond safe levels. I did make sure to wear a mask most of the time, but not all the time. I was always outside for all of my casting and almost always had a breeze so I thought I didn’t need to wear a mask. I never wore gloves either and routinely touched the lead but I always made sure to wash my hands before touching anything else. When done casting I always took a shower immediately afterwards. I will say that the times I was working with “clean†lead I rarely wore a mask because I thought there were no concerns with working with clean lead. I thought I was doing enough to keep myself safe. By the end of second week or so I began to feel not right. Iwas nauseous almost every day and for most of the day. On top of this I just didn’t feel well and was just lethargic. I had muscle aches as well as having a short fuze when dealing with people. I thought it was because of the weather or I was getting sick or maybe a reaction to my medications I take. I really didn’t think it might have been the lead exposure until a little over a week ago. I was making ingots from wheel weights. I made sure to always wear a mask because it produces a lot of smoke but there were times when I would step outside to check and get some smoke in the face. It was only a brief moment so I thought it was nothing to worry about or I would try to hold my breath which never worked. The day after making ingots I woke up and had a “tick†in my chest. When it first happened I got really scared as it took me to my knees but stopped almost as quickly as it had come on. I spoke to some nurses as well as looked up symptoms and all indicated it was not life threatening. And it subsided really quickly over the next day or two but it was still there. It did not correlate to my heartbeat but it was a painful “tick†so I went to the doctor. He said it was not related to the heart but could have been an aggravated nerve ending in my chest. I explained to him I suspected my lead exposure because of how I had been feeling and he said it would take a lot to get enough to show up. But we agreed a test would clear up any confusion. Now that I look back my symptoms all matched lead exposure. I had my nausea, nerve problems, irritability and now that it has been a week and a half since I cast last the ringing in my ears has subsided substantially. And the day the doctor took my O2 saturation it was low. And even to this day I feel like crap. The test was done last Friday and I got the call today. 4 units is where you lead exposure becomes a concern and mine was at 10 units. It was not high enough to warrant chelation therapy but it is concerning. And this test was taken at least a week after my last casting session. The doctor said the levels were likely higher then than they are now because blood replaces itself faster than anything else in the body. Now I am taking activated charcoal to help prevent further exposure even though it has been a week. Between that and time the symptoms should subside. I am going to be using a range hood to duct all fumes out of the area. I also plan on using a full face mask, gloves and covering as much of my skin as possible. I was complacent before but never again as lead is bad news in any amount. I am telling you this to keep you from casting but so you can prevent exposure to lead. Do what you can to prevent ANY exposure to lead or lead fumes. Do not become complacent even if only for a moment. And finally to keep the feds out of your hair because I found out that the CDC requires the feds to be notified if I show elevated lead levels during the next test. Casting is a fun pastime that reduces the cost of our hobby substantially. But it must be done safely. Dolomite2 points

Folks post pictures of their $2.5M houses and $400K cars on the Internet all the time without concern of theft. Not saying it doesn't happen, but it's probably pretty rare. There's no reason to take these pics down now anyway. They've surely been immortalized by one of numerous caching services, historical search engines, and people who want to take those pics to the bathroom for some "alone time". Fortune favors the prepared. Good for you being damn well prepared.2 points

I suspect Obama's changes to the our military is simply part and parcel of his extreme left agenda and general loathing of the military rather than some intricate plot. Our country is in decline except in the pot-hazed mind of the liberals who believe socialism is the only "fair" form of government (except of course the elite who don't have to answer to the same laws and conditions they impose on everyone else). We are living in a house of cards on a foundation of shifting sand...I don't know what will topple us or when it will happen but I'm quite sure something is going to do so.2 points

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Olympic-Arms-Inc/114264921930723?fref=ts Olympic Arms was recently asked to advertise in the FOP Journal; the official magazine of the Fraternal Order of Police. It is well known that the FOP is a staunch supporter of Gun Control, had backed the AWB under Bill Clinton, and supports the current AWB under consideration that was introduced by Diane Feinstein. The FOP was actually accredited as being one of the sources that helped prepare the language of Gun Control suggestions that were forwarded by Vice President Biden. Below is a copy of our response to the FOP Journal: Please forward this email to every major principal in your organization. AS: 1. The Fraternal Order of Police is on Congressional Record as having been a major supporter of the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban. a. http://books.google.com/books?id=ZGb80RBLHxcC&pg=PA18184&lpg=PA18184&dq=FOP+Supports+Assault+WEapons+Ban&source=bl&ots=Yiafz1Lbgv&sig=_9DLM1ZuC79jKiqf2vWMtnhf1d4&hl=en&sa=X&ei=zBEVUer_L-jriwL3oYGACQ&ved=0CFYQ6AEwBQ#v=onepage&q=FOP%20Supports%20Assault%20WEapons%20Ban&f=false 2. As a matter of fact and record, the FOP is accredited with assisting VP Biden in formulating the language of the newly proposed ban: a. http://www.politico.com/politico44/2012/12/biden-no-reason-assault-weapons-ban-shouldnt-clear-152546.html 3. Additionally, as a matter of fact and public record, the FOP is in support of the newly recommended Assault Weapons Ban introduced by Senator Feinstein. a. FOP representatives were actually standing on the Stage during the presentation as a sign of "support". THEREFORE: Olympic Arms, Inc, manufacturers of AR15 type firearms, firearms that these legislators would call "Assault Weapons", will not be supporting in any way, shape, form or fashion, The Fraternal Order of Police, any organization that represents, supports, takes advertising dollars from, spends advertising dollars with, is in anyway related to, any individual who is a card carrying member of, or any person or entity in any way associated with the Fraternal Order of Police. Period. Henceforth; • Be assured that Olympic Arms will not rest in its efforts to educate our customers, fans and followers the extent of the hypocrisy committed by the FOP and FOP Journal (fighting to outlaw the firearms produced by the very companies they now solicit for advertising dollars…). You can also be certain that we continue to make every effort to properly educate the firearms consumer in general, of the same. • Additionally, we will make continued efforts at assure that ALL firearms manufacturers are aware of the FOP's support to strip Constitutional Rights from Americans, and their support of further unconstitutional gun control legislation. • We pledge to inform all of our customers the lengths that the FOP and associated FOP affiliates by proxy (which includes all your advertisers)are willing to go to in order to strip the American Citizen of their Constitutional Rights, while at the same time writing in exemptions to the same legislation to ensure that their members maintain those same rights they would have stripped from others. • Your actions are the actions of a rogue organization supporting tyranny, not an organization sworn to uphold the laws of the land, to protect, serve and defend their constituencies. Let it be know, that your actions are reprehensible and shameful. http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/12/vp-biden-says-he-needs-cops-help-to-reinstate-assault-weapons-ban-and-much-more/ http://www.guncite.com/aswpolice.html Sincerely, Thomas A. Spithaler Sales & Marketing Dir. Olympic Arms, Inc. More companies, the public and LEO's should call this organization out on it's antics!!!2 points

What concerns me is that he and his team do not make uncertain moves. They know the numbers, and they operate by the numbers. If he is pushing for a vote, he/they know something. They knew they would win the election by a large margin - while the republicans were taken by surprise. They are a brilliant collection of folks. I'm wondering what they have up their sleeves on this. With that said, we must keep communicating with our representatives. We will have to be more intelligent, more tenacious, more sensitive, and more active than we have ever been as a constituency.2 points

He is playing with fire. If it is put to a vote, win or loss, there will be a lot of democrats out of a job in 2014. I think the reason why there hasn't been a vote yet has just as much to do with the democrats not wanting to vote as the republicans not wanting a vote. Nobody wants to touch it because of the shake up after the 94 AWB. I think if there is not a vote we are going to get hammered in the mid terms. I think a vote will bring out enough gun owners to make a difference in the mid terms. Either way we are going to have a hard time in 2014. Not because we won't vote or we don't have enough votes but because the democratic voters believe that voting more than once is ok. Personally I would love to see all voters marked with indelible ink when they vote. Dolomite2 points

Realize that Cali is and always has been the most "progressive" (don't shoot the messenger) state in the union. However, very often Cali will foreshadow what could happen for the rest of the country. For gun owners, this is not good. For me personally, I don't like the magazine and shotgun regulations. I don't understand how you can have a 10 round max yet still have a fixed mag. Are they saying you get one mag only and beyond that you have to have a tool to change out? If so, does this go for the police as well? Nothing against police of course, but you see the problem.1 point

I had a great time. Shot the 44 Special with CCI Blazer +P's!!! Wasn't trying to be a smart aleck that's just all the factory ammo that was left! We did have a truncated COF, but for me it didn't effect the evening at all. I do like to B.S. but I also like to see how others shoot the stage and what I can/didn't/should/or could do next (and get all those tips from the "old heads" who know what's up... THANKS!!! Rick Robert Hognut Norma TJ) So even with just two stages I got to see the way 30 people shoot the "situation". I got to see T.J. Hooper point at the sky... I got to see a business man empty his gun and all mags on all stages! (Ex-Army here I KNOW how to burn up some ammo). And how to put pasters all over Dale! You can't put a price on that!! The club just needs it's time to mature. We all need to consider assisting in setup and take-down (and appreciate the few qualified SO/MD/Match workers with the experience to show us the way.) 2 cents delivered! :usa: See you all on the 26th!1 point

PM if you want to chat over the phone. I don't much, but I'll tell you what Ive learned. My knowledge is worth what you are paying for it. :) I had a neighbor who (has) had zoysia for 30 years. I was the first LCO they ever let touch it. I did quite a bit of reading before and while I cared for it. (2 seasons). I've also seen friends plug with sad results. :) 1st things 1st. Call your Ag extension office and ask about soil sample testing. Get a soil sample from several spots in the yard and get it analyzed. Then find out what you need to do to make zoysia happy (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium - the ratio is the numbers on your fert). Amend the soil and get it set before you get your zoysia. A lot of folks are willing to spend >$900 on mail-order plugs, but won't spend ~$15 to listen to their dirt. It can seem petty and useless, but it is the simple key to mastering your turf. If you can control the water content, nutrients, and pH of your soil, you can win the war (it is easy once you get to know your dirt and your grass) Zoysia does take more time to fill out a yard than other summer grasses (you might have a 5yr plan), but if you do it right, it is fantastic.1 point

One thing that would help, Have folks start signing in at 5:30. At 6:30 I still had several people waiting in line to sign in. That delayed the start. We need a host/hostest to guide people around. If they need to watch the Armory safety film, get that done and signed off in the gathering area. While the set up crew is prepping the bay, someone can be getting the shooters ready in the classroom. If we get the other bay, have the set up crew shoot first on stage one. they can move over and prep the other side. This will take a few more people to get done in the time we have. We may have to up the number of match officals that work the match. A group meeting may be in order of the core people to work out details. My safety meeting ran long because of the high number of new shooters last night. It also takes longer to run new shooters thru the COF.1 point

Shia Islam is far more structured than Sunni Islam, but there are still different schools of thought within Sunni Islam, which represent the legal interpretations of the Quran and the hadiths, as well as how Muhammed lived his life and how that should impact the behavior of modern day Muslims. A quick parallel could be Catholics and Protestants. Shias have a hierarchy similiar to Catholicism, and there are similarities in how their relationship with God is conducted. Sunnis have a direct relationship with God, and their Imams are only there to lead them in prayer and provide some degree of spiritual guidance, as they are the religious scholars. I'm not sure how the schools of thought in Sunni Islam dictate whether or not Muslims are free to interpret scripture, but I would have to assume so. In Shia Islam that is a no-go. Kinda like back in the day when the Catholic Church didn't want everyone trying to read and interpret the Bible without their guidance. It was the clergy's responsibility to interpret the word of God. The term "Mullah" is somewhat ambiguous, as it means different things in different corners of Islam. At any rate, they don't hold any significant position in mainstream Islam. Sometimes a Mullah can be nothing more than the only person literate enough in a village to read the Quran, and sometimes Mullah is just an honorary title that someone gets because they've either been formally educated in an Islamic institution, or they are just Quran thumpers that have independently obsessed themselves with being able to recite the entire Quran and memorize every significant hadith that applies to most common life situations. I would compare a Mullah to the modern day bible thumper who becomes obsessed to the point of starting his own church because all the other churches are screwing it up, or the self appointed preacher has an ego that needs feeding... sorta like the "Machinegun Preacher" guy.1 point

I never said the Secret Service had the power to override any orders from the President. I don't see how him being in charge of the military or the executive branch has any bearing on how the Secret Service conducts themselves or develop their SOPs. I mean, Obama is in charge of the Postal Service too, but he doesn't deliver my Netflix every week. Point is, the Secret Service are the ones who came up with that policy. I'm willing to bet that the President wasn't even aware that their bolts were removed at the time. He may or may not know now, but I doubt it. He has far more important matters to ignore. And, ya know, if I was one of those Marines I would probably have the same attitude. I would probably be like "What the hell? Doesn't he trust us?" But if I was in the Secret Service and in charge of that detail, I would absolutely adopt the same policy to disarm those Marines. However, if I was the President I'd probably be like "What the hell, don't we trust them?" Besides, they did this same stuff when Bush went downrange and was around troops. This isn't an Obama thing. There are plenty of good reasons to think Obama is a crappy President without making up reasons that don't exist.1 point

Without any 'real' facts in this case, I'll wait to find out what the real story is. The Feds can charge you with anything they like as a pretext to confiscating your property. If he was a legitimate collector, that collection could have a HUGE value. If they find any charges that actually stick, then he will most likely lose the guns to asset forfeiture and the agencies will each get a nice chunk of money after the auction. Asset forfeiture is just a form of legalized theft.1 point
