Just a few more days, folks. Pricing can't be announced publicly because that's how the manufacturer wants it. We need to respect their wishes and just be appreciative of the fact that this is being offered to us. Trust me -- from what I've seen you're going to be glad you waited. :)2 points

And if you can afford one I think you have every right to own one too. I actually have a buddy who purchased an armored SUV years ago that was shipped back from Iraq. In my opinion people should be able to own tanks and fighter jets if they want.... in fact, in pretty sure there are some rich folks that do.2 points

I have no problem with PDs having the tools necessary to keep them safe so long as it isn't violating anyone's rights. Cops get shot at. The likelihood of being shot at increases with armed standoffs. Vehicles like this allow police to approach a very dangerous situation without being exposed. I want the folks who are charged with enforcing the law to have the tools they need to do their job safely. I don't see the problem here.2 points

Well, I finally pulled it back out, rewelded the guard that had popped loose and tightened the handle. Then to change the look, and prevent the handle from cracking, I epoxied the crack that had started to form, then taped the handle up, and finally wrapped it in gutless paracord. I plan to remove the bottom guard that my hand it covering and possible cut the top guard down, but now its my go to camp knife. Before After Tapatalk ate my spelling.1 point

Thanks Slappy. I covered all of that ground I'm allowed on probably 4 or 5 times between last night and today. If it had been a coyote, I'd have looked once and went back to deer hunting. That's crazy about the pod not killing that deer in MS! I'm not giving up, I'm going to do everything twice as hard now. That is part of the allure of bow hunting to me, it's not easy and I have a ton more respect for bow hunters now. The adrenaline rush is like no other I've ever felt.1 point

I shot one once searched for an hour didn't find any blood or hair or nothing on my arrow. Climbed back in my stand sat for another hour or two. Thought I had clean miss. Got down looked around a little more and decided i for sure missed somehow even though it looked and sounded good. thought I was losing it and headed for the truck. Walked 100 yds across a hay field and he was laying dead right out in the middle where I was walking. No blood no nothin anywhere. But it was a good shot. It was strange. Sometimes it is strange. On a side note, same day when i got back to my truck there were 5-6 longbeards standing right in front if it. I dropped back down, nocked an arrow, drew and rose up. Picked one, shot him a hair below the base of his wings sweet spot. Last time i saw him he was flying toward the next county with my arrow sticking out of him. It was a jacked up day.1 point

Sorry Ruger. That's very upsetting. :-( But, it sounds like you practiced, you researched, you passed on some deer and at the end of the day, after doing everything right, you made a bad shot. Well, it happens! Even prostaff make bad shots! What you did well on is trying to recover your animal. Most would not go back a second or third time like you. That's hunting though man. I'd be a fool to say that I would never make a bad shot. My dad shot a huge 8pt in Mississippi. At that time, it was legal to use pods filled with poison to ensure a quick kill. He had a complete pass through with his arrow. Covered in blood and hair. The poison pod was rolled fully back and that buck got a full dose of poison. He even had a great blood trail for a while, but in the end, he couldn't find it. Hang in there. Double down on your practicing. Take your target and place it where that buck was standng, climb up in your stand and practice there too. Get back up on that horse and keep at it!1 point

Yes it was open when I found it, blood and hair stuck to it and blood all down the arrow except for the end with the fletching. It broke off from the outside, since it didn't go all the way through. I could see them hanging out of the deer when it done the uturn. The o-ring was in good shape, it was a brand new broadhead. The o-ring seemed to hold it pretty snug when I snapped the blades into it. I know I could shoot my next one with a Rage and have a huge hole and blood trail. I'm not really sure what I'm going to do. I may try them one more time, but I have my Muzzy's in the quiver too. I'll know next Saturday morning though. I used to be able to sit all day in the stand no problem, but these 14 hour days are a lot harder now. I just keep thinking, as soon as I leave a deer is going to pop out right in front of my stand, or when I come back in, I'll spook one that I could have had. I also hate driving all the way home just to sit and wait for 2 o'clock to roll around. All I do is sit at the house and think, "I should be in my dang stand right now!". I don't mind the time in the stand, but my back does! But I'm even more determined now, and will make sure to hit farther back vs farther forward if I have to. It's hard to track a deer that's not leaving you something to follow! Did you get out today?1 point

If your county has a fall gun hunt (Oct. 12-25) then you can shoot em during archery only. Least that's how this reads http://tn.gov/twra/turkeymain.html Sucks to lose em. Been there, done that. Most bowhunters have. I like both broadheads. Over time I've shot fixed and expandables. I liked the expandables I shot a lot they made massive holes and worked as good as any fixed blade I ever shot. IMO modern expandables are as good as modern fixed blades. I think when they hit the scene the first run of expandables gave them a bad rep cause some of them did suck balls. But... now I shoot fixed blades, I'm shooting a xbow they give me the performance i want. I really only went to the to expandables on my bow because they flew so good. If I had to choose I'd pick fixed cause they seem to hold up better as far as being able to shoot them through more than one deer. But as to punching holes in stuff I say (IMO) they're virtually equal. Easy to second guess when you lose one though.1 point

Ya did the best you could, and that's all you can do. In fact, you did more than most hunters by putting forth a long and exhausting search. I know it sucks to loose your first deer with a bow... I lost my first one too. If you can go back out tomorrow or next day to observe, you might be able to pin-point a location from buzzards unless you know someone with a hound. However, at these temps, I wouldn't trust the meat though. My brother shot one a few years ago in a swamp. There was no way to follow a blood trail, but we found it two days later under the low canopy of a cedar tree. Yours may still turn up. I hope you didn't pick up any chiggers during your search today... that would be my luck :)1 point

Backbone? We must not be reading the same articles. There is nothing backbone about what the House Republican leadership is doing. Case in point, http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/359829/kevin-mccarthy-house-will-send-third-volley-senate-if-reid-rejects-last-nights-bill Why in the hell are Republicans already saying that they have another option available if Reid rejects their second bill? Honestly, why would Reid even consider the second bill knowing the Republicans will have a third bill that will be more to his liking? What kind of negotiation technique is that? I swear, the Republican leadership is acting like a bunch of wussifed beta males. The only reason the Republican leadership is doing as much as they are doing is because they were forced to because people like Cruz, Lee, and some others stirred up the American people, and they have been hounding their representatives. Here is the Republican leadership when dealing with Reid and Obama.1 point

Funnily enough I just got done packing for a Florida hog whomping. I also choose my clothing with a mind to carrying extra gear, if necessary. Pant HAVE to have generous pockets. I've packed out a 60# hog, boned out, in my pants pockets before now! I also carry a cheap, Wally World 'packable day-pack' IN my pack. It weighs under 3oz & folds to the size of a baseball. I can throw that on with my fanny pack for an exta 22l of carrying space if I need to. Stuffed with dry grass, it also makes an excellent pillow/seat ;) Here's what's in my pack.... (again, knife & leatherman on my belt) 2, 1l bottles of water Water purification tabs 2 Bic lighters Ferro rod Large folding knife 6, 1gal ziplock bags 1, 39gal trash bag microfiber towel 20 Ibuprofen 20 Tums Chewing gum 25' paracord GPS Compass 6 safety pins 2 spare broadheads + 1 blunt (replace with 5 rounds of whatever caliber if rifle hunting) 6" file Diamond stone snacks as needed Thermacell + refills + 100% deet Packable day pack. Slingshot & 30 .40 lead balls (I get bored :) ) This lot can keep me in the woods for upto 3 days, in a nice climate (& it has a couple of times!) & weighs in at a shade under 8 pounds. It all fits nicely in a Cabelas Guide System fanny pack, with room to haul out the meat of one, average sized, boned out hog.1 point

The 'logic' the town is using to claim that this is 'town' property is a stretch under the best situations. They're trying to claim since th sign was on property owned by this individual but in the 'easement' for the town, that the sign was on public property. That is to say the least a novel approach to claiming the property belongs to the 'town'. I don't know NY law but that wouldn't fly 5 inches here in TN... while we all have public easements and right of ways on our property for things such as telephone poles, sidewalks, roads, etc. The property is still owned by you not the city or county... You're just restricted with what you can do to your property on the easement... any improvements which would prevent the maintenance or installation of new public works on the easement can be restricted and you can be forced to remove them.... Clearly a sign of this size poses no issue to the easement unless they had scheduled maintenance requiring it to be moved. And here is how you know the town is full of it... there are houses on that street that have fences much closer to the road than where the sign sat... so is the city now saying those fences are on it's property?1 point

That sucks. You'll prob find him in the morning though if you hit good but high couldv'e clipped the top of the lungs. They can cover some ground before they succumb to that wound and they can possibly not bleed much or at all. I did exactly that on a nice 8pt on opening day last year. I saw that i hit him high, arrow passed 3/4 way through then fell out at about the 50yd mark.. He didnt bleed good at first, then bled a little, then stopped bleeding altogether. Then i found some kicked up ground and followed it and he was laid out in a creek. I killed a big fat old doe this evening. Perfect 15yd shot. Zipped one right through her heart. She ran maybe 30 yds then rolld back down the ridge. No tracking at all, watched her fall. Why didnt you shoot a turkey???1 point

Im not qualified to give anyone legal advice and you should always consult with a competent attorney,BUT, in my opinion, the estate probably needs to be settled through probate court. The son can contest the will. The girlfriend may feel entitled to what is there and the will may show she is. Time to lawyer up w an atty that is experienced in probate issues. hope this helps, a will is something so many people overlook......1 point

Don't forget Newt and Rubio in that group. I took a terrible beating from conservatives when I spoke out against these two and now look where they stand as well. The problem, as I see it, is that most Republicans don't really know what they believe in comparison to what the Republican Party actually stands for. They *think* they do, but not really. The Tea Party is just another in a long line of populist leaning movements that doesn't really adhere to any set system of beliefs or values. There was a similar movement just shy of a century ago. It too failed for this reason. Adherents don't like corrupt big federal government. That's the only thing they have in common. If I had time to write a paper on the subject, I would do a comparison to the populist movement back then to the Tea Party movement today and predict the Tea Party's collapse within another 5 years.1 point

Where is 22LR? Any given manufacturer has a finite amount of production capacity to produce a given product...when I've checked, our total U.S. capacity per day of 22LR is about 230,000 rounds; that can easily be depleted in a single day even just a handful of people buy a few bricks of 22LR per day and people are - demand is through the roof and manufacturing capacity is being fully utilized. You can blame the demand on anything you want, panic buying, scalpers, sunspots...it doesn't matter...until demand subsides we are going to have trouble finding it. As to having money to burn, I freely admit that my distaste for Walmart has a personal side - I have first-hand experience with their dirty, disgusting business practices and I won't ever deal with a company that operates the way Walmart does. More to the point, however, I believe in supporting and I believe it's in the firearm's community to support businesses that have an actual stake in the hobby/interest that I'm buying product for...Walmart could not care less if they sell ammunition or $3 table lamps...licensed firearms dealers do and must care about the firearms industry. If I have to pay an extra .05 or .10 per round for .223 then I consider it an investment in keeping my local firearm dealer in business.1 point

There are only two spiritual positions in the Bible: You either belong to God or you belong to the devil, just as you are either alive or you are dead. Where you spend eternity is based upon that relationship at the time of your death. There is no neutral ground. God offers grace to everyone to come to Him through the covenant He made with mankind by His Son, Jesus Christ. You may take it or leave it, but keep in mind that this is the only choice one has. You belong to the devil by default and your only option is the one which God offers. Keep in mind that God by definition is sovereign. He does as He pleases and decides what will happen and when. We can wonder why God does things or even accuse Him for the things he allows, but he is not looking for our counsel, unless of course we are members of His family and He hears our prayer requests. He is under no obligation to to bless those outside of His covenant relationship, just as anyone would not be responsible to look out for anyone outside of his family. But because "God is love," as it says in the Bible, He extends mercy and grace to draw people into relationship with Him, by far the most rewarding association you will ever have or experience. I'm betting that God has given this perp another opportunity to wise up. I hope for his sake he takes it.1 point

I've seen a few posts and heard from a few folks that want a TGO gun but are reluctant to build it alone. I'm a firearms instructor with 7 certifications and have taught many build classes including AR, AK, 1911, etc. I always teach AR builds from the smallest part all the way up, it takes anywhere from 2-6 hours with most new people needing 4-6 hours including some basic instruction for maintenance and cleaning. I have a large set of armorers tools, spare parts, instructions, diagrams, etc. so would be willing to coordinate a build class in middle TN area if needed. It's a lot of fun and we've even had a lot of kids, women, elderly folks join in and they usually do better than the "experienced guys"... so don't hesitate to try it if you are on the fence. How often do you get a chance to build your own TGO AR?1 point

Shotguns are for hunting birds, shooting 3-gun, and turning into SBSs so you can show them off to your friends. If I have enough time to pick a gun gun for the fight (but not enough time to be somewhere else), the rifle is coming out every time. The AR pattern rifle can do anything (from an antipersonnel standpoint) that a shotgun can do, and adds a ton of additional capabilities. Anything that isn't going to go through drywall can't be relied on to stop a threat... It's just that simple.1 point

It's not just walmart, it will be the majority of businesses in the entire country and the pols don't care because they are going to run around and cry form th emountain tops about how many new jobs have been created, because the full time jobs have all been split into 2 part-time. Then people will need 2 part time jobs and will get no benefits, so they will then have to pay for this out of their own pocket. This thing has the potential to literally wreck the country.1 point
