  1. It affected me. I've had to endure copious amounts of pointless bitchin'. It's the only thing 99.7 super talk radio talks about. It's just like wheni was a kid and the president was on. Is on every channel! I'm to the point where I really don't care if the power company goes out there and pulls the meter at the White House and the bank ( of china no less!!!) puts a lock on the door. Screw em. Weak animals make meals for the strong. I'll be glad when we as a people stop sheltering this thing and put it down so we can restart/rebuild and get back to some semblance of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. There will never be happiness with the current regime who take STEAL from me because I decided I need to work for what's mine and give it to some lazy ghetto trash cuz somebudy gots to pay to raise my babies! I got a match, who's got some gas?

  2. Devils advocate - the buyer also has an obligation to know what they are buying. If he takes back the gun he has to sell it "used" at a loss even after it is fixed by Ruger .since it left on a 4473. If you keep it and send it back or he sends it back and they fix it no one is out money. Only the frustration and wait for the return. It unfortunately is the only scenario close to a win-win.   That being said the box should have been opened and the gun inspected prior to selling as a good business practice. I have seen more guns than I would have thought possible damaged or in need of repairs immediately after opening the box. If he had inspected it like he was supposed to, then problem would have been averted. It you or your wife had inspected it prior to buying it, problem would have been averted.

  3. Woods has been busy tweeting about the slimdown and the President, focusing in particular on the fact that veterans have been unable to visit war memorials in Washington D.C. “This President is a true abomination. To have barricaded the WW2 vets, but allow illegal aliens privilege...” Woods tweeted on Oct. 8. But Woods, 66, was just warming up. The actor also called Obama “just vile. A small, small man.”   http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2013/10/10/james-woods-criticizes-obama-says-doesnt-expect-to-find-work-in-hollywood-again/?intcmp=features   More and more are turning on him.

  5. I enjoy it because ...well...I'm an azzhole. Telemarketers use a head set, not a hand set. I talk as quietly into receiver as possible all the while sounding interested. I have an air horn from a fire engine and my compressor puts out just over 150psi here at work. Get them interested but talk quietly. They will turn up,their headset so they can hear me......then, well you're smart, you know what happens next.

  6. Eh, I've been in a few scuffles during the post game handshake. Folks that take stuff personally use that as an opportunity to run their mouth. Had one who shoved me as my hand was extended; can't fault a guy for taking the bait on that one. Post game scuffles are as important as post game handshakes. Let boys be boys.

  7. During the next 24 to 48 hours, yours truly will be afoot or afloat inside a national park boundary, engaged in sporting activity including fishing and/or hunting, lawfully armed, and with everything else I need except a backcountry permit.   Of course I've hunted, fished, canoed, hiked and camped in these parts long before the NPS had any interest in the place.   I'll let you know how it turns out.   Thanx, Scott Bow aka ttocswob   (NSA there's your code - you can stop now)   (edit title to distinguish from movie tv show I didn't see and game I didn't play.)

  8. Well we are in Baton Rouge visiting some family so I decide to check out Red Jacket, I must say that these are some of the friendliest people that I have ever ran into. They were in the middle of filming, so we stayed out in front of the shop and met Will's daughter Stephanie and got a picture with Joe who is a really cool guy, so here is my ugly mug with my daughter with Joe who graciously posed for a picture with us.

  15. Like I said I jest don't get it all land far as parks are owned BY WE THE PEOPLE we paid for it with all OUR tax money , so if I want to go camping on property that my tax dollars paid for it I don't feel that I need gov to tell me that I can't use it . Who made them god of the land that we paid for . I don't have to have some one to hold my hand and watch out for me , I have the means to protect myself if need be . It's our right as the people not the gov-. To use these lands if we so desire. So why can't we use them ???? Oh and we have park rangers working to keep us out , but thay can't work other wise really . , what's y'all s take on this , am I missing something here.

  16. ^^That is awesome, a hunter's first deer is a forever forged memory! I actually get excited for my friends when they kill a deer, not just my own harvest. Some people think we walk out in the woods at 9:30 while eating a sausage biscuit and playing Candy Crush, and the deer just walk out in a field and pose for us, and we use those big ole evil rifles and blow those poor little things away. They have no idea the time involved, the days not seeing anything (hot and cold days just sitting), or the respect and love we have for the animals. I know there are some idiots out there that make us all look bad, but for the most part, hunters/outdoorsmen are a nature loving group.  A lot of good info in the above posts guys.

  17. I do agree with a lot of what you say. I kill spikes when they appear to be older deer, not the very young ones. I should have made that clear. Since I too am a "meat hunter" and don't care nothing about hanging any more heads on my wall, any and all deer suit me just fine. Just to let you know, that doe in the above picture was taken after two twin 4 pointers were passed up on.   Not to bust anyone's bubble, but deer hunting is about more than "rack size". Big rack 4 and 5 year old mature bucks are great to kill. Most people however kill them just for that reason. Then they throw them in the beds of their trucks and drive all over town to show their buddies. By the time they make it the Taxidermist it's in bad shape and even fewer make it to the freezer. To each his own.   I however, ignore rack size, and judge my deer based on Tender Loins, Hams, Chops and Burger. I will not shoot a button buck or doe that appears to be under 60 pounds. I do however applaud those that do, because there are way too many of them. And yes, I did at one time "Trophy Hunt". Been there, done that", and have nice things to show for it. It's about the meat now.   Each person that purchases a hunting license has to make no one else happy but themselves. As long as they abide by the law, let them kill what they want. You nor I can change it. Take public land for example; let a little 6 pointer walk away and he'll be dead within 300 yards! May as well go on and get him yourself. Private land? I don't have that problem. My problem is people sneaking in killing my mature bucks.   I have no issues with hunters taking young deer if that makes them happy and it feeds them. We talked to a guy the other day that was plumb tickled to death because he killed his first deer. The little buck had spikes about an inch long and weighed about 60 pounds. To him, it might as well have been a 10 pointer! First thing he said? "Man is that going to taste good"!   With the economy as bad as it is, more and more people out of work, we all can expect fewer bucks making it to adulthood. It's just a fact we have to live with.   Happy Hunting!   DaveS

  18. Like Thomas Jefferson once said. " Any Government that is big enough to give you everything is also big enough to take it all away."  I think Obama has stooped to and all time low with this last deal about not paying the families of the Soldiers killed in the war this past week and the Fisher Group Charity stepped up and paid it and made sure the families were flown to Dover to meet the planes bringing their loved ones home. Obama told Mr Fisher that the Government would give him an IOU and when the Government opened back up he would refund them their money back. That was the last straw and a new poll showed Obama rating at 37% and Fox News expects it to fall even lower. His blame it on the Republicans has back fired on him and Reid and I'm thrilled. I hope he goes into the negative column and into the dirt cellar........

  19. this whole Gov "shutdown" crap is really pi$$ing me off, so I went into work this morning feeling the need to rant. The first three people i talk to are 1) a hard core liberal Obama lover 2) a liberal that doesn't believe anything negative about the Government. No matter if it is the headline in the paper he needs to see more proof, and 3) a conservative that only knows what the Preacher tells him. I made a remark about the "shutdown" and they all three looked at me like what are you talking about. I swear they had no clue. They don't do news because they don't want to get upset. God help us all. These people vote.

  21. i remember buying a half cow for almost half the price as what im currently seeing today just a couple years ago. that got me thinking about raising a cow or two. my issue now is that i live in town but i have my horses boarded in a 25 acre pasture by themselves a few miles away and am unsure if i could talk the owner into letting me keep a cow or two with my horses... that said, i do plan on buying 10-25 acres in the next couple or three years so this could end up mostly research.   is there anything that says i have to raise cattle in multiples? do they do better that way? would a cow or two with my horses cause any problems? im not a total city boy so i think i may be asking questions that are too simple but why not...   whats the average age and weight of beef cattle when raised and butchered?   would they do ok on the same grass pasture that keeps my horses fat with no grain? i know they are natural grazing animals but i do see a lot of different grain fed vs grass fed beef adds and don't know enough about the difference.

Oh well.   Deer were really still today but it wasn't  waste. I found a new trail and a feeding area loaded with fresh Deer Droppings and nice ambush opportunities. Will be sitting there sometime in the next few days.

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on this one rather than getting the Chip McCormick trigger I've been eyeing since this one is adjustable. Just wanted to know if anyone has squeezed this on to see if it's good stuff. Right now it comes with a LPK for $200 on PSA.

  35. I always get excited when my guests kill a deer while I'm guiding them or get their 1st deer. Take a Federal Game Warden friend of mine. Jason has killed many, many deer. Trophy bucks in Whitetail and Mule deer. Hundreds of does. He had never taken a deer with Muzzle Loader. I told him I would put him in my stand and he would at least see Does. If he wanted a "big boy" I'd put him down in the "bottoms". Long story short, he shot a doe with his ML. He was tickled to death that he'd finally gotten a deer with it! He got all choked up on me! That's my kind of hunting! I'll try to post a pic of it later on.   The above story of the guy getting his first deer, he's an older gentleman and this was his third year deer hunting. I LOVE IT!!!   DaveS

I was really upset at all them blue signs, I really thought a lot better of Tennessee. But in spite of this I will retire to this state. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!! 42. The dealer might have a legal obligation to give you a refund since he sold the gun at a location other than his place of business; but it’s been more than three days so that probably doesn’t apply.   I wouldn’t mess with the dealer unless your wife wants a refund. If she wants to keep the gun I would send it to Ruger myself. That way you will be in communication with them and can even give written instructions on the problems.   Just reread your post, since the dealer is sending it in I would contact Ruger and talk with them so you don’t have any surprises when it returns and they will get the straight story on what you want.

  43. buy a mac and you don't have to worry about 99.995% of these issues.   or   you can go through a lengthy process to get your files back, and then get smacked with a variant that is released days after you get everything fixed.  As for your files, I don't recommend carbonite, we use www.crashplan.com because they retain every version of a file that is backed up example:   have photo1.jpg & document1.docx get hit with Crilock on October 1 and it encrypts photo1.jpg & document1.docx crashplan backs up the two files online because they've changed. download the two files from the September 30th backup in crashplan and viola.

  44. I'm sure we could arrange that. :P   Reckon I won't bother to list what I carry. Partly because I don't wanna' get laughed at and partly because most of what I carry is rattling around inside my brain pan. Suffice it to say that I keep things exceedingly simple and most of my "medicines" grow wild.   As a general rule, I don't even carry bandaids, although I've found a tube of superglue to be a handy thing to have. And Tylenol sucks. Acetasalicylic acid (aspirin) is readily found in willow bark and willow bark tea does the job just as good as aspirin does without having to carry an extra container around (granted, it's a little less "handy" than aspirin, but willows grow on creek banks a lot more readily than do Walgreens).   You fellers with the big modern bags and the knowledge to use them impress the hell out of me and I'm glad you do what you do and I hope you keep it up. For me, I guess knowing what part of a cattail to find an anesthetic in, or that spiderwebs make a good coagulant and other silly, outdated, "frontier" type stuff is about all I'm good for.

  45.   # 3 is the one that bugs me most.    If an owner wants to post their business, its their business and I'll take my business elsewhere.    But what gets me are the business owners who only want to make a political statement and do their upmost to Hide the posting and/or place it in a location that is near impossible to see.  Its an attempt to trap permit holders IMHO.   Their activism to promote, impede, or limit the liberty of others should carry no force of law other than the possible charge of trespassing after and only after being asked to leave.   AND THE DANG POSTING NEEDS TO GO BACK TO THE FULL SIZE STATED TCA AS BEFORE!  The signage needs to be in a font that can be read and in a location that is On The Entry Door!  That way everyone knows that the business is a "Criminal-Right-To-Work & Deranged Killer Zone."

  49. Found this on a friends Facebook page . Alan Simpson, the Senator from Wyoming calls senior citizens the Greediest Generation as he compared "Social Security " to a Milk Cow with 310 million teats. Here's a response in a letter from PATTY MYERS in Montana ... I think she is a little ticked off! She also tells it like it is! "Hey Alan, let's get a few things straight!!! 1. As a career politician, you have been on the public dole (tit) for FIFTY YEARS. 2. I have been paying Social Security taxes for 48 YEARS (since I was 15 years old. I am now 63). 3. My Social Security payments, and those of millions of other Americans, were safely tucked away in an interest bearing account for decades until you political pukes decided to raid the account and give OUR money to a bunch of zero losers in return for votes, thus bankrupting the system and turning Social Security into a Ponzi scheme that would make Bernie Madoff proud. 4. Recently, just like Lucy & Charlie Brown, you and "your ilk" pulled the proverbial football away from millions of American seniors nearing retirement and moved the goalposts for full retirement from age 65 to age, 67. NOW, you and your "shill commission" are proposing to move the goalposts YET AGAIN. 5. I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying into Medicare from Day One, and now "you morons" propose to change the rules of the game. Why? Because "you idiots" mismanaged other parts of the economy to such an extent that you need to steal our money from Medicare to pay the bills. 6. I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying income taxes our entire lives, and now you propose to increase our taxes yet again. Why? Because you "incompetent bastards" spent our money so profligately that you just kept on spending even after you ran out of money. Now, you come to the American taxpayers and say you need more to pay off YOUR debt. To add insult to injury, you label us "greedy" for calling "bullshit" to your incompetence. Well, Captain Bullshit, I have a few questions for YOU: 1. How much money have you earned from the American taxpayers during your pathetic 50-year political career? 2. At what age did you retire from your pathetic political career, and how much are you receiving in annual retirement benefits from the American taxpayers? 3. How much do you pay for YOUR government provided health insurance? 4. What cuts in YOUR retirement and healthcare benefits are you proposing in your disgusting deficit reduction proposal, or as usual, have you exempted yourself and your political cronies? It is you, Captain Bullshit, and your political co-conspirators called Congress who are the "greedy" ones. It is you and your fellow nutcase thieves who have bankrupted America and stolen the American dream from millions of loyal, patriotic taxpayers. And for what? Votes and your job and retirement security at our expense, you lunk-headed, leech. That's right, sir. You and yours have bankrupted America for the sole purpose of advancing your pathetic, political careers. You know it, we know it, and you know that we know it. And you can take that to the bank, you miserable son of a bitch. P.S. And stop calling Social Security benefits "entitlements". WHAT AN INSULT!!!! I have been paying in to the SS system for 45 years “It's my money”-give it back to me the way the system was designed and stop patting yourself on the back like you are being generous by doling out these monthly checks . EVERYONE!! If you agree with Patty Myers, says, please PASS IT ON!!!!
