  1. LEO was an idiot. Safest way to handle a firearm is always simply not to handle it at all.   - OS

  5. This has nothing to do with Castle Doctrine the homeowner invited them there; it was simple self-defense. The homeowner had a right to pull a gun when the other guy attacked him. But that justification ended when the attacker ran and the homeowner pursed him.

  6. I'm not of the belief that gun owners have some God given responsibility to own a safe if you own firearms. If a child were involved I would probably be inclined to agree. But some scum bag broke I to her home and stole her property. I don't see how that was Her fault. Yes as a US Rep she could surely afford a safe. But this sets precedence that it's the homeowners fault if your stuff gets stolen.

  8. He got a 6 week old puppy yesterday. We're pretty sure he's a Belgian Malinois mix. We're still trying to decide on a name but leaning towards Gunner. We've been wanting another dog since we got the house so that our Husky would have a bud to play with. Being that he has either Shepherd or Malinois in him we're hoping Strangest thing though, he has 6 toes on each back foot.

  9. True Nobility   “I ask not for his lineage, I ask not for his name; If manliness be in his heart, He noble birth may claim.   I care not though of world’s wealth But slender be his part, If yes you answer when I ask, ‘Hath he a true-man’s heart?’   I ask not from what land he came, Nor where his youth was nursed; If pure the spring, it matters not The spot from whence it burst.   The palace or the hovel Where first his life began, I seek not of; but answer this— ‘Is he an honest man?’   Nay, blush not now; what matters it Where first he drew his breath? A manger was the cradle-bed Of Him of Nazareth.   Be nought, be any, everything, I care not what you be, If yes you answer, when I ask ‘Art thou pure, true, and free?”   - Robert Nicoll

  12. I imagine the office asked her to unload it as an alternative to taking possession of the weapon for the duration of the stop which is something the law specifically allows for reasons of "officer safety". My question to the officer would be to ask how having me handle my weapon helps increase his safety? Wouldn't the weapon staying put in its holster be a much safer course of action for everyone involved?

  13. PRIMARY lead smelter.  They were the last who smelted lead from lead ore.  There are still secondary smelters functioning, who reclaim (recycle) lead.  We still have the lead ore, in case we (the nation) needs it.

  14. He shouldn't have pulled the gun. He should have took those little sissy girl punches like a man and called the cops and had the attacker arrested on domestic assault charges.   There was no deadly force with those girl punches. He definitely isn't MMA fighter or something.   I think they're going to make an example out of this clown.   As for the camera wilding woman, I think she was wanting to rev this guy up and catch something on video to screw him over with since they were having issues between child custody or whatever. What she got instead was a bullet in the lung by her new lover on accident. A clear case of if you go looking for trouble, you're going to eventually find it.   Just my :2cents:

  21. i would advise the wife not to say the weapon is loaded. i just give an officer my dl and permit without comment. all they have ever asked was were was the weapon located. to my way of thinking any time a weapon comes out of the holster the chances for a discharge , negligent or otherwise , goes up especially trying to unload it in a car. this situation seems to have decreased officer and civilian safety as opposed to increasing it. i might contact the chief of the pd and ask about the safety of this procedure and perhaps he can make it make sense.  don't be argumentative but come across as a concerned citizen seeking clarification on the matter.

  22. The officer didnt handle it..didnt take the round or the mag...how the hell is that "officer safety"...what would have stopped her from reloading when he walked to his car to run her license and shoot him when he came back? I am usually pretty logical and give people benefit of the doubt, but I fail to see the logic in this situation...

  32. Well we don't know if the bullet hit something else before impact however the glass and electronics could have flexed and absorbed quite a bit of energy and if the back of the case was metal that would have helped also the hole in the glass isn't round so an angle hit and the fact the phone was essentially free hanging in his pocket acted like a sponge and absorbed the impact, not to mention the employees chest muscles also buffering the now 3"x5" flat projectile instead of a .22/.38 slug   reminds you of the old flask/ciggie case stopping a bullet in the war movies don't it ?   "Low Caliber"  ??  could we get more vague most folks I know that carry consider anything not starting in a 4   a low caliber

  34. Yep, me too. Just has too many advantages not to go for it. My 1st choice is a 6.5 side charger but I cannot find the web page to see the details. Looking at that first page, you'd think Alexander Arms had that option available but all I could find is the standard flattop slingshot charger. Maybe just me but I think the side charger would look great on top of our TGO lower. The CMT lower I have now doesn't make my Rock 458 look bad. Just a bit of color difference but for the most part the billet cut lines and the forging curves do not conflict with each other. Maybe I just don't see an ugly baby. Check it out...

  35.   For some reason unknown to me they went up right along with AR's and ammo after Sandy Hook. I stopped by the Nashville gun show a week or so afterwards and while I waited in line (for a long time) I watched person after person pouring out of there carrying ammo cans! I got inside and saw .223 for well over a dollar per round at most tables and pretty much no AR's or AK's so I figured they much have had money burning a hole in their pockets and nothing to spend it on...?

Get Chinese kids pouring lead bullets, No health care(oops Obama has already done that) Cut out retirements and union dues. we can import them cheaper then making them here.   Fly Boy

  39. Well I just adjusted on the trigger and man was it worth it. I don't have a trigger pull gauge but it has to be around 2 pounds maybe a little less. I don't want it any lighter. I did all of the safety tests such as slamming the bolt, checking the safety, dropping it on end ,etc. this should take a lot of the shooter deficiency out of the equation for sure. It took longer to take the gun down than to make the adjustment.

  41. if they say 3.7 and you are over 5, you need a smaller dipper or a different powder.    You can make a dipper if you get desperate, from something.  A screw & a dowl rod, drill out a hole until it is what you want for example.    the lee dippers (and any others that I know of) are sort of 'one size fits all'  in that you get a few dippers and have to make it work (by using a powder and bullet for load data that weighs right in the provided dipper)
