My cell number must be one digit off from that of a drug dealer. I've had the same number for 10+ years, and I continually receive calls from those who sound to be in desperate need of a fix. One lucky caller happened to get me while I was sitting around the house, sipping on an adult beverage or 7. I wonder how long he waited for me at the TA truck stop in downtown Nashville.4 points

This is going to sound harsh.... This is because it needs to be harsh...... This was not an accident..... This was negligence on both of you. There is a reason that professionals and trained individuals will always Unload and Show Clear to demonstrate the safety of any firearm that they hand to someone else. The person accepting the firearm must also verify the unloaded and cleared state of the firearm. Rule # 1. All Guns Are Always Loaded - - - AND you must ALWAYS account that others WILL NOT understand that.4 points

Sure you can, but if something happens and you actually have to defend yourself from a threat you'll have one hell of a hard time trying to explain away how it was really self-defense... Thanks to that nifty sign3 points

Well...As stated I was there. It got me thinking. What if instead of posting all the signs saying "no loose ammo or loaded guns. No exceptions", they posted signs saying "lethal guns beyond this point. Please check that all firearms are unloaded upon handling at your own risk". I understand the desire of attempting to eliminate the handling/transfer of unloaded firearms. However, it seems to create a very large group of people (some of which may have never touched a firearm in their life), and tell them that all the firearms in that magical room are unloaded and safe. Pair that with someone who has never learned any firearm safety rules, and it eventually turns out like this. The allusion that all the guns are unloaded causes many to "forget" safety rules. I haven't had a ND yet, but if I did I don't suppose it would translate to me never allowing myself around firearms again. I've been around a lot of NDs. Two of them people were shot. One ND was on full auto less than a foot from me. Yep, it gets pucker factor up. It also provides a lesson you won't forget for the rest of your life. Some folks I know who have had NDs are great people who have done great things, not dummy bubbas. It amounts to complacency. We are all susceptible to it, so that's why we do certain things to overcome the complacency.2 points

I am not sure how 60 bucks is a small meaningless fine? I wish I lived in the world where I did not care about 60 bucks. 60 dollars to a lot of people is the difference between having enough gas/food money to get to the next weeks paycheck, A fine of 60 dollars certainly is a deterrent.2 points

If some innocent bystanders got shot that would be a terrible thing but all I am seeing that some TSA agents got shot so I am having an extremely hard time giving a damn.2 points

Here we go again. If you want to know why just go to a gunshow or look on Gunbroker, Armslist and all the other online places to sell stuff. Idiots are buying and assholes are selling. Frankly, I'm mighty tired of it. This has been going on for over 10 months now.2 points

ArmaLite Inc. proudly introduces the new AR-31. The AR-31 shares the design and the accuracy of our highly acclaimed AR-30A1 bolt-action rifles, but with three MAJOR differences: the AR-31 is chambered in .308 Winchester, it is a short action version of the AR-30A1, and it accepts Armalite’s AR-10B double-stack magazines. That means you can use 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 round mags with the AR-31. For sub-MOA accuracy, think ArmaLite’s AR31! Caliber: .308 Winchester Barrel: 24" Double Lapped, Chrome Moly Rifling Twist: 1:10 Muzzle Device: Muzzle Brake Trigger: Single Stage Stock: Adjustable Cheek Piece (Height) & Buttstock (Length) Overall Length: 45.4" - 47.4" Weight: 14.1 LBS Your Price: $3,460.00 EA http://www.armalite.com/ItemForm.aspx?item=31BT308&ReturnUrl=Categories.aspx?Category=619e7cf7-40cd-49b6-9375-768553b099b81 point

Here is a two minute clip from the movie "Gettysburg". We had 4 of our guns there and we're mixed in there somewhere. The clip is Confederate Reenactors laying down an artillery barrage. Imagine all those guns firing canister? Enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrY81GZgrtg DaveS1 point

I am going to sell my 22 rifle and all of my ammo. Haven`t seen 22LR around here in I don`t know how long that wasn`t overpriced, even when I could find it. I`m not going to get up early in the morning to stand in line behind those with inside connections at some of the big box stores. It isn`t worth it. Bought a nice pellet rifle a few months back and have been enjoying a lot of backyard fun! :)Neighbors haven`t complained and the rifle is quiet. Have killed many a tin can with it. Have knocked down a few yard pests with it also. No longer need to drive to a range to have fun. "Ammo" is always available and I can shoot for much less than what 22LR ammo costs. Wish I had done this years ago.1 point

My (manchester) wal-mart is a bit different. We get trucks almost everyday. Yet can't get it all unloaded until 7-8 pm. Sometimes later than that. They'll put the ammo out on the shelf as soon as it comes in but lately, some of the sporting goods guys have decided with christmas coming, they'll wait until morning to stock it( especially if it is .22lr). Cause people will call everyday asking for the ammo and we really don't know if it is on the truck until it is unloaded. Had one time we thought we were getting .22 in and Nope, nada, not on this truck. Yet there was a line about 10 deep of people wanting to buy the darn stuff. So now we don't tell anyone what we are getting in advance. I really think there ought to be a 1 box( yeah 1 box) limit on the .22lr. All other calibers there are plenty of 2 box limit. Because one guy will come in, get his 2 boxes, bring his wife and his friends and clean out all the .22, and then there is still going to be those who want to shoot but cant. It especially irks me when a grandfather comes in and says he can't take his grandkids shooting because of the Hoarders/Gougers have gotten all the .22lr. If it gets any worse, I say get a BB/pellet gun and not worry about it.1 point

Well at least no more money will be wasted on him now, except to bury him. I like how his pious minister said he's glad the state wont get to kill a mentally ill man. More like an evil sociopathic piece of human garbage. Maybe the good minister can explain his feelings to the families of the teenage girls he tied up, shot in the head and tossed in a lake. I saw the film of those girls floating dead in that lake, I would have pulled the switch on that POS myself.1 point

Heck, McConnell, the minority *leader* even managed to come away from it with a nice fat piece of pork. If things don't get turned upside down in 2014, it's done (arguably it already is anyway).1 point

You won't change the country until you change the states. Right here is the principal battleground. We sent Alexander and Corker to speak for us--we may as well have sent Laurel and Hardy. If the states don't take back their sovereign rights, the politicrats will do our picking for us.1 point

The problem is the media has tried their damnedest to paint the tea party as one thing. An old evangelical political group who want their ideals impressed on everyone. At the core, the tea party is a huge friend to the libertarian party but a lot in the libertarian party are turned off with any group that might even smell one bit like they are religiously based. At the end of the day, i actually consider myself libertarian. But i identify with the tea party. The media wants to divide and conquer anything that is not left of center1 point

I'm all for capitalism too, but I also believe that there is such a thing as ethics in capitalism. Ethics are a subjective thing, but I generally think we all can look at something and come up with the determination of what's right and what's wrong. CTD has done some very wrong things, in my opinion. Perhaps there are many people out there who disagree that their practices were unethical, but I don't see how they can be logically defended. The day following (or perhaps even hours following) the Sandy Hook shootings CTD jacked up their prices on certain items by 10 times the normal cost. They then contributed to the panic by having advertisements suggesting these will be banned. To me, that is a company who is attempting to make money on dead kids. Sorry, that's how it simply boils down. I won't give my money to people like that. As far as I'm concerned they can all rot in hell.1 point
