  1. So this is our new pup Gus. My wife went and picked him up today. He is a Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog, say that three times fast, and was 7 weeks as of Thursday. Him and Lilly are already acting like best buds already too. First thing she did was bring him her prized toy and drop it right in front of him.

  3. I usually get 10% off my bill at Krogers using my plus card and I don't have to deal with Walmartians. On another note, it's a private business. They are under no obligation to give discounts to specific classes of people. I don't think that makes them "greedy". Operating a business right now is tough. Everyone is having to cut back here and there to deal with the crushing weight of our bloated gov. I'd say it's more greedy to feel entitled to someone else's money. If they offered a veteran discount then recanted it, I wouldn't have heartburn. It's up to them. If they can afford it then great. If they can't it isn't my place to say they "owe" me anything.

  4. TFA is the most pro-freedom group in the state.   The whole Fedex argument about private property rights is illogical.  It's your car on their parking lot.  Just because you bring your car into their lot doesn't mean that they have the right to dictate what you have IN your car.  Your car is your property.  The interior of your car does not become Fedex property when it is parked in their parking lot.  By Fedexs reasoning, they can ban you from having a bible in your car.  They could also prohibit any Ford car or truck, or decide that any shade of brown vehicle is forbidden on their lot.  You see how stupid that sounds when you apply it to things besides guns?   There is a reason that unlicensed carry is called 'Constitutional Carry'.  It's because there is nothing in the Constitution that says that government can require a license for someone to exercise a right.

  5. You asked homeskillet, they gave you a response, no reason to get uppity. Most, not all but MOST, of law enforcement are all for responsible citizens and their second amendment rights. I suggest looking into county ordinances on the matter.

  11. The only people who take these elitist windbags seriously are people who have already made up their minds and are just looking to be validated. We got the same nonsense on the conservative side of issues. Don't worry, it'll be summer soon and they'll be back to global warming with some kind if El Niño, La Niña, polar vortex, heatwave-mageddon, unprecedented temp nonsense.

  13. So bad for the thug, so sad for the shooter that he may have to defend himself and have legal fees. Under the circumstances of the shooting, the shooter shouldn't be investigated at all, whether he was carrying legally or not. He saved no telling how many lives. Stuff like this just makes me sick.   Dave

  17. Follow the left's example: Ask for a mile and settle on an inch. Rinse, repeat. I think we should be pushing for mandatory issue and carry of RPGs and haggle from there.

  19. AFAIK, the micros were designed for rifles that have a higher receiver rail than the traditional AR such as the XCR and the SCAR.    My personal opinion is that if they are truly being used as a back up there is not a need t spend that kind of money on the sights, a set of MBUS sights would work just fine.

  23. No, because I live in the county so I knew I was legal and besides I knew most of the officers when I moved to where I live now.   I tell everyone who asks your same exact question to go ask the responding agency. Officers are not out to get you, they want their shift to go by as easy as possible and I can assure you that responding to a report of gun fire is not at the top of their list of things to do. By inviting them to your house they will do exactly to you what they do to me when they get a call about gunfire, they assure the complainant that everything is just fine and not to worry. Doesn't hurt to invite your neighbors over to shoot either.

  26. Man my life sure would be better if I only got what I wanted too...         It doesn't really matter if you can quote all the law if the officer that responds wants to arrest you. Sure, you can beat it in court, after you bail out, and pay a lawyer and miss work...     Pretty bad shame that a simple question at the office would solve it.

  28. We watch Gilligans Island M-T on METV at 8pm and 8:30.  My kids love it, just like I did growing up.  They were deeply saddened by his passing.    You know he was apart of Season 1 "...and the rest", but somehow the Professor and Mary Ann won the right to be apart of the Gilligan's Island song.

  31. I can promise yall this. If I am in a store and some maniac comes storming in the door ranting and waving a gun and threatening to kill everyone in the store I will do everything in my power to end his plans as fast as possible. Like a post in the blazed mentioned. In that case I would rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6. I'm quite sure there will be enough very thankful people willing to testify in my favor..............jmho

  32. In Alabama they have no duty to retreat. He stood his ground and killed someone who was intent on hurting others. Additionally, I don't believe one has to prove or admit they were afraid if they are protecting another person.

  34. Everyone has the right to protect themselves. I'm not sure the 2nd Amendment only protected certain ages, guns, etc. The God given right to protect oneself being further protected by the 2nd Amendment seems to me that somewhere in the last 200 years someone decided to limit our rights. I fear in a decade or two our rights will be viewed just as extreme and will be restricted in the name of security and common sense solutions. I'm sure 100 years ago even 50 years ago a 17 year old could carry a gun and no one cared. In this situation I would probably tell her to not broadcast that to people, but I certainly wouldn't rat her out like she is a second class citizen. This isn't Germany is it? :usa: I might just be too far right in my opinion or at least that's what the media tells me. Night :snore:

  38.   The tests weren't to see if a nuke could level a city. We figured that out from Trinity Site and proved it with Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Additional tests were to test alternate bomb structures, sizes, yields, effectiveness of structures/ships/vehicles to withstand nuclear blasts at various distances, and to develop nuclear warfare tactics. Those are in addition to the experimental physics studies that were done at the same time or on other test blasts. I doubt we needed over 1,000 nuke tests to figure all of that out, but those were some of the reasons.
