I'm torn on this. First I read what you posted and formed an opinion about the ATF setting people up. Then I clicked the link and it seems some Joe bought a suppressor from someone's trunk along with two handguns. Any time some one offers to sell me something along the Class 3 line I will be having my fat arse running like Usain Bolt away from said deal. Just my 0.02.4 points

I just realized, come 1 July, we'll have "Constitutional Carry" here in Tennessee. For knives anyway. Maybe we can work on guns next year. :up:3 points

The Titanic never sank. The Olympic was disguised and sank on purpose as the Titanic for an insurance claim. The real Titanic then became the Olympic and sailed for 25 more years. No one died; it was all made up. They know that know but don’t want to release the information because we have such a great movie about it.3 points
If it's pure lead it will get really expensive trying to get the bhn high enough for most firearms applications. I had a line on a bunch of pure lead and did the math on the costs to mix in various other alloys to bring it up to acceptable hardness and no matter what I tried it didn't make sense. Maybe I missed an option? Perhaps.
I'm just getting started casting, but I think if you powder coat the lead bullets they do just fine with no leading in the bore.3 points

I care about each and every one of you.... and I still enjoy a good bucket of popcorn every now and then. FYI: for those who think it is relevant, the creek in question is the result of a beautiful drainage basin here in West Nashville... it comes to us from a pond 1/3 up from us and runs down past us to a 10x10 double culvert and eventually to the Cumberland. The middle of the creek is the property line for neighborhoods on both sides... it has been that way since 1960. oh... and there will be no waivin' of the shotguns. Waivin's fer hands and hats... the waivin' of the firearms generally violates 1 or more of the 4 laws and thus is strictly forbadeth. :tinfoil:2 points

If you are referring to the events with Russia and Ukraine, what makes you think that is due to a lack of our foreign policy? The US government fomented and funded the revolution that ousted Yanukovych. Putin almost definitely had designs on Crimea and Ukraine, we just served them up to him on a golden serving platter.2 points
-
Recognizing and acknowledging that US foreign policy does not exist in a vacuum is not a case of blaming the victim. Too often we picture the US as some God-ordained, global cop on a mission to set the world to right when it is really just looking after its own selfish interests in a short sighted and destructive manner.2 points

We have bolted down thousands of safes in the past 20 years and I agree with what NashvilleStage recommended. We use a "TapCon" bit that can be removed if you ever move the safe. If you have any questions give us a call at 615-255-0500. Mark The Safe House2 points

The continual, purposeful, intentional misinterpretation of the United States Constitution by ideologs is sort of their whole game plan, because then it makes their violating it "legal" ... When ever they are able, they keep chipping away at it bit by bit, in this district & in that district until finally it suits their ideological agenda. The Constitution was not written in some sort of secret code, to which only judges can decifer, it was written in plain english that almost every American can read & understand. The question really is, how far will the American People allow this purposeful perversion of our nation's highest laws by our nation's highest officials to go? See the problem is a substantial portion of the American People are in favor of this perversion, another substantial portion just doesn't care, and those who are offended by the corruption & perversion of our laws are labled "extremists" for believing in our nation's entire reason for existing in the first place. I wonder what would Thomas Jefferson & George Washinton say about the 9th Circuit's decision, I'm guessing that they'd be super-pissed off.1 point

Reactive targets of any sort.... water balloons, flour balloons, steel targets (dueling tree?), clay birds, jugs full of water with a little food coloring, ... everybody likes blowing stuff up. And finish off the day with some tannerite, but don't tell them. Make up some sort of contest and the winner gets first shot at a "special" target.1 point

YOU......SUCK! There, thats feels better. My love affair with you started with my love of fishing back when I was around 10. Then Bass Pro awed me for life when I visited their Branson Missouri store. It was absolute heaven! At such a young age I was very impressionable and you took fool (not a misspelling) advantage of me. When I got to college and had to write about anything I wanted to for English 101, I chose you, Bass Pro Shops! But alas, over the years our relationship has taken a turn for the worse. You have failed to keep up your end of the relationship. I used to be ok paying your inflated prices (around 10% or so) over your competitors because of the additional value you provide. Now paying that extra 10% seems more like a tax than anything else. So why do you suck so hard? Glad you asked! I worked retail management for 2 years of my professional career and in my young career I quickly learned that if I did not have product I was going to be held accountable. If we were going to have a sale, I better stock up ahead of time and if I was going to make a promise...I better keep it. Last year you had some deer stands on sale. In fact, you advertised this sale both in your circular as well as website and in store. I bet you knew months ahead of time that you would be having this sale but when I went in to buy said deer stand...yall were out. When I asked how many yall sold before I got there, you said 2. :squint: So this sale lasts another week...can I get a raincheck? No you say. Can you transfer one from another store? "If they have some in stock, maybe". Not really making me feel like a valued customer here but an inconvenience! Last year, one of your customers (not sales associate) sold me on some blunt tips for my bow and arrow. I was so excited to try these out until I realize that yet again...you have dropped the ball. You were out of stock (not surprising) on the 100gr blunt tips. It just so happened that one of your patrons placed some 125gr in place of the 100gr blunt tips. No problem, I understand you can miss scanning something that is out of stock due to someone else covering it up. So like the good friend I am, I re-arranged the items to reflect you were indeed out of stock on the 100gr tips. 1 week later (and 2 truck deliveries) you are still out of stock and there is no sticker that says you noticed you were out of stock and had ordered some and when I can expect it. 2 weeks later and 2 additional truck deliveries, no blunt tips and no stick. 3 weeks later and 2 more truck deliveries, no blunt tips and no sticker. 4 weeks later and 2 more truck deliveries, no blunt tips and no sticker. 5 weeks later, bow season has long passed, no blunt tips BUT you had the sticker! Thank you so much for your attention to detail! The sticker then read, which I understand is not likely your fault, that they wont be delivered for another few weeks. Fast forward to this year. I thought about writing you a letter to let you know when turkey season would be here and to let you know, that you can expect increased sales in certain items. You know, the last 3 years I have gone to buy new calls and such, not only to find them out of stock, but never back in stock until after the season...blunt tips ringing a bell? So by my estimates, you are currently out of stock on approximately 35% of your mouth calls. Did you forget this happened last year? Did you not know turkey season was coming up? Are these items perishable and therefore you cannot overstock yourself prior to the season? Did the season just sneak up on you too fast? So yesterday, I want to go buy some turkey shells. Hmmm, I bet myself $20 that you are out of stock on what I want! Well the good news is I am $20 richer now because you are PREDICTIVELY AND CONSISTENTLY OUT OF STOCK ON THE ITEMS I WANT! I have tried and tried to love you again...But alas, you have proven that the only turkey out there, is you. Good riddance.1 point
Aside from food. I'm also an aquarium nerd. Any good aquarium's in the area? I'd imagine there are.
Yes! My favorite is a small one at the South Florida Museum. It is about 40 mins south of Tampa in Bradenton. It houses Snooty the Manatee, which is the oldest manatee in captivity... they've had him since the '40s. I remember seeing him when I was a kid at his old home, which was nothing more than a tank, but now they have a state of the art aquarium facility for him which includes other manatees who are being rehabilitated. I took my son there last year while down in Florida. Very nice Museum/Aquarium/Planetarium. You won't see anything like it anywhere else in the country. Just enough stuff to see in an afternoon. Party politics. More significant they are "Republicans" than lawyers in this case I think. TN is not like DC, where for the most part nowadays the GOP is the lesser of the two evils. Here the two parties are pretty much on par, and a majority of either seems to behave about the same. I imagine we'd be just about as far along weapon law wise right now if we'd had a Dem super majority for the last 4-6 years in Nashville. - OS1 point
I hear this a lot, but in reality it just isn't that easy to do for a lot of people. Yes, you can argue it is a choice. I won't disagree, but that is not the issue. The issue that needs to be fixed is the school systems interpreting things how they see fit. Taking every kid out won't fix the root cause. It just moves it to another area. Parents need to demand that the constitution be taught as written. Parents do have the power to change things, unfortunately most don't want to be bothered to do so.
Never going to happen - the government and unions have such overpowering influence . It makes you wet, it makes the 60% slope you're walking on impossible. And like today with 25mph winds in blisters your face like needles. I stand firm the I hate snow in its entirety. In TN, the water has to be navigable for the public to have right-of-use. I would elaborate, but it is better compiled by others... http://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/Wiki/access:tn Now, the Attorney General and I have differing opinions on the property rights of a stream/stream bed being indeterminate until a jury has ruled one way or the other.... with that said, here is the AG's take from 2011. http://www.tn.gov/attorneygeneral/op/2011/op11-75.pdf The afformentioned creek in this thread would not be legally or normally navigable by anything but a child's toy boat ...and then only during a flash flood.1 point

What’s hypocritical is suggesting that we would boycott an American gun company because a state government is putting the screws to them. Ruger still makes a quality product at a decent price. Recently when I wanted a lower cost 1911 I bought a quality Ruger SR1911 instead of that junk out of the Philippines with the Ruger not costing much more. On one side of my SR1911 it says MADE IN USA, on the other side it’s says PRESCOTT, AZ. So I don’t know that much of the money goes to CT. I haven’t bought a foreign made gun in over 30 years, haven’t needed to, and hopefully I will never need to. Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Remington, I hope American companies like that keep up the good work. EDIT: I’ll add this. Remington and Beretta didn’t run; they expanded. There are many valuable and loyal employees that have worked for those companies for many years. The employees and the company is entrenched in the community; their community. I would think less of the company if they turned their backs on their employees over a political battle. They aren’t giving to the state; they are giving to the people that helped put them were they are today. If someone was trying to run you out of your home would you turn and run or stay and fight? Sorry, but these companies need our help; not us turning our backs on them and judging them. They are our companies.1 point

... Never short of strong opinions on here! A little fun never hurt. 1) I posted the property to clearly communicate my intentions as a property owner. In case the person was ignorant and of good intent, I have now communicated clearly that I do not wish him (or anyone else I don't know) on my property. 2) The camera (etc.) ideas are to assess whether this is a regular occurrence or not. This is an area of our property that is concealed from the rest. Anyone coming up that creek knows that they are sneaking through other's backyards - almost exclusively out of sight. 3). Boy howdy...I'm curious for those of you who would make light of a man for communicating clearly (for legalities) and gathering more information in order to protect his 6 year old boy and girl.... (I never made a judgement on the fellow, just said it set alarms off for me.). ... .... wonder if you have seen the news lately for Nashville or the rest of the world... and wondering if you have ever had a 6yr old girl (or boy). We are not in the 1970s anymore.1 point

Depends on your shotgun and choke combination pattern. In general, whatever choke allows you to knock down 4-6 inch steel plates from 10-25 yards while using 1145fps 7.5 or 8 shot. In general that is going to be a light modified or modified choke. How close no-shot targets are also factors in to the decision. I use a light modified choke 95% of the time.1 point

Unlike Obummer, the people who vote for those of his ilk (hate America; the promise of "Obama money" and other free stuff) don't give a rip about the second amendment are are are very likely hostile to it - mot of them would love to see the second amendment go away so if the Democrat promises to "ban all assault weapons" that's music to their ears.. People who vote Republican tend to be at least somewhat "conservative" and support the Constitution even if they don't personally care about the second amendment...add in the people who are true conservatives and who DO care about the second amendment and they are not going to vote for someone who is openly hostile to the second amendment (or other parts of the Constitution) and if the Republican candidate can't get those votes he/she will not win the election, I would only add that that exception would be if such a Republican candidate could garner enough votes that would usually go to the Democrat but I don't think even Christie could do.1 point
