  1. This bacon foolishness needs to stop.  If it's not crispy fried strips of pig meat or crumbled pieces of said crispy cooked meat....IT AIN'T BACON.

  4. I'm so proud of my 14 year old daughter. She attends a private school. Her school requires all 8th grade students to do a 25 hour project and log their hours. I helped her with a couple of difficult cuts on the angle grinder and router but she did most everything on this. She even demonstrated it outside of her school. Her teacher was so excited to give it a try as soon as the teacher shot it she said "Well you'll be getting an A!". Other teachers heard about it and came out to give it a go. This was her project: -Stock is 2x4 pine -Trigger and mechanism is a flat piece of steel cut and bent after she heated it with a blowtorch. -Bow is a piece of 1" PVC heated and flattened then reheated and bent to shape. (People on the interwebs are getting 150lb draw on 1 1/2" PVC so we went with 1" -String is 550 paracord -bolt is an oak dowel rod with a penny ground into an arrow shape and packing tape fletching. ( I actually made this arrow, she made two like it with foam on the tips in case they wouldn't allow her to shoot the sharp one) Yup, my daughter rocks! -southernasylum

  5.   It's good to know that when you have a badge, choking someone isn't aggravated assault or simple assault at the least (which i believe both are criminal acts) in your book.   It's funny how two people can see the same thing and think two different things.  I see a human assaulting and commiting a crime under the color of authority.   You see......well...something that's not a crime.

They will elect hillary by default and we'll get rid of the republican party and finish the pickpocketing of america by the political class... I cant stand any of these sons and daughters of satan... 7. ... on Russian steel ammo. Both .223 and 7.62x39 Tulammo are over .30/round. Can beat that online by 5 to 7.5 cents per round delivered. Wasn't long ago it was the opposite.   That is all, over and out.   - OS

  13. Allow me to rephrase that for you:   Well, I actually don't blame the people who are hurting other gun owners and really hurting interest in the shooting sports, in general, by grabbing up all the ammo that the average, working person could actually afford to buy in large enough quantities to be able to have a fun, all day range or plinking session with family and friends and reselling it at profiteering prices.   That isn't intended as a jab at you, personally but it is exactly what these profiteers and scalpers are doing.

  15. I lived in Hawaii for 5 years, I miss it so much and plan to return to vacation before to long. While visiting Hawaii and not seeing Pearl Harbor should be a sin, I would encourage you to visit the Big Island or Maui. Oahu really is a large island on a tiny island. I miss the weather, the laid back mentality, the beaches, the surfing and mountain biking, and especially the food. If you have any questions specifically please pm me, I really enjoy talking about Hawaii.

  18. I am getting ready to get a 9mm 1911 Pistol and I want to make sure I am getting the right ammo.  Pretty sure I am.   So far I have been buying up  Winchester 9mm Luger 115-Grain Full Metal Jacket Bullets, 100ct at Walmart when available.  I got about 800 rounds or so now.   Anyways, is 9mm end all and be all or are there different favors like ..45 acp vs .45 gap, .45 LC.?

  22. While I enjoy shooting my 4" k frames, the versatility of a 3" can't be beat. A 2.5" 19 or 66 has never interested me much because of the adjustable sights, plus the 3" gives you a full length ejector rod. Ever seen a 2.5"(not a 2") Model 10? They are rare and very desirable. I loaded it up today even though I have not shot it and carried in a pocket, i always heard it could be done and wanted to prove so or not. It's possible, reminded me of carrying a Sig239 I had for awhile. If one considers the 3"sp101 pocketable I guess the 3" 65 could be as well. It's a true waistband gun.

  23. There are many flavors of "9mm" but only one 9mm Luger (or 9mm Parabellum, 9x19mm, 9MM NATO or whatever other names it's been called).  You're buying the right bullets.   Pay close attention to the 9x19mm part.  There are also 9x17 (.380 ACP), 9x18mm (9mm Makarov) and others that are longer than 9x19mm (like 9x23mm, or Largo as it's called).  They are not compatible.

  28. I've tried a a couple electric razors and they're all "tug and yank" instead of "lift and cut" for me.  I guess they work for guys with very fine beards, mine's much too coarse.  Between that and their high price....    I've always used cheap disposable razors and Edge Gel with adequate results.  Last fall I grew a beard so now I only have to shave my neck and a few random hairs on my cheeks a couple times per week.   I trim my mustache about once/week and my wife trims the beard when she cuts my hair about once/month.  I should've grown a beard years ago.

  29. You can go back and research stories about it back in the 70's in news articles. Thanks Austin 7.62 for your thoughts. I have my good days and bad days these days but hated it when doctor told me to go fishing cause my working days were over. I really loved working on cars but then I really learned to like fishing to. And now I enjoy shooting at the range but can't do a lot of that without using platform to support hand and pistol because rotatory cuffs in shoulders begin to ache. i can shoot for about 30 minutes then if I rest and have a cup of coffee with my arms down in resting position I can go back and shoot another 15 or 20 more minutes. Looking forward to getting that 22lr ammo from David and Sam so I can get back in the range. I am looking at trying to find someone That may want to sell a Bersa 22Lr pistol. I have been wanting one for some time. If I sell that Sig I ave offered on here I will buy one from Buds unless someone can recommend another place I should look for one.................

  33. I absolutely love hawaii, and would take it over the carribean any day of the week. I've Been to maui, big island, Kauai and lanai For a first time trip i would recommend maui- lots to do from beach, whale watching (during the season), haleakala volcano, road to hana experience, snorkeling, watersports, fishing, great amazing restaurants and the best seafood you'll ever have. I like staying in the Wailea area. You'll need a car in maui to get around - highly recommend the following restaurants: pacifico's, mamas fish house, milagros in paiea - awesome ono fish tacos and the best pina coladas on the island! Lanai is amazing - two four season resorts - great restaurants and magnificent service. Don't let l the negative nattering nabobs steer you away from hawaii - its a special place. To break the trip up take a flight to LA then overnight at a hotel and grab dinner in LA at a nice restaurant.

  36. If I could get on a plane right now and go to the beach - this is where it would be:  http://www.starwoodhotels.com/westin/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=1098   Fly into St. Thomas.  Take a ferry from the airport to St. John.  2/3 of the island is a national park.  Not a ton of touristy stuff to do, but it's a lot of great exploring, diving, good food and lounging on the beach.   Hawaii is cool.  But Honolulu is really a drag.  It's a long flight and really expensive. Waikiki beach is less than 10 feet wide in a lot of places.  And, it's covered up with people.  If you go to Hawaii - bypass Oahu and go for one of the other islands.  You won't regret it a bit.

  39. I like the Big Island.  It's far better than the urban train wreck that is Honolulu.  Pearl Harbor is terribly sobering, but the rest of Honolulu just isn't worth it to me.    My wife and I stayed in the Hilton Waikoloa Village a couple of years ago, and I'd definitely recommend it.  I've stayed all over Waikiki Beach.  When I'm there, I like the Moana Surfrider.

  45. My opinion is, in the end he was just being arrested for drunkenness, or whatever. If he struggles a little so what. If he wiggles free, so what. If he was present a violent danger to the officer and others, ok, but I have my doubts about that. I realize he could try to grab a weapon and all that. But he was clearly in control by two other officer before the choke was applied. I feel it was excessive and glad JJ acted with authority.
