Yeah, yeah, I know. But I'm "that guy" that doesn't have a "range" gun. My range guns are my carry guns. When I go to the range, I take what I may have to use. Those are the ones I want to be really good with, anyway. They're still fun, too. My preference is a striker fired, constant trigger pull platform. I don't mind constant DA either, like a revolver. The consistency is my preference.2 points

I just checked in thinking you might have a herd of them you actually needed droving to somewhere: - OS2 points

Have any of you actually used them? I have. Gonna need some more info. If they're Aguila SUPER Colibri that average ~500fps, for example...I've shot them out of my 20" barreled bolt action quite a bit. Good up to about 20 yards (at a target) and quieter than a pellet gun. If it's just the Aguila Colibri that average ~375, I wouldn't shoot them in anything but a pistol. As always, YMMV, but I've shot about 500 SUPER Colibri out of my bolt action2 points

I'm pumped, win or lose this game I'm just excited it's football time again in Tennessee. I'd really enjoy it if we were a game over .500. We're still building but we have some big, promising players that will be fun to watch2 points

IMHO Berettas are just beautifully built handguns. If you buy one, odds are it won't be your last. I'll definetely buy a TN built model, but Cougars have always been my favorite to shoot. If you ever have the chance to try out a Beretta Cougar you'll fall in love. 8040 D Cougar (No safety or decocker...just point & shoot) 92G & 96G Elites2 points

Had a good time with the new shooters. The one I brought said it was the "best experience!" Thanks for those that stayed and shot my 3 gun stage in the pouring rain!2 points

I become sad whenever I read threads such as these. It seems like Obama is people's sole focus when it comes to addressing their grievances against our government. Ya do realize that he and Holder are not our entire federal government? By always focusing your disgust at Obama you are pretty much giving a pass to all the other s.o.b.s in Congress, and they are equally complicit. Just a question here... What the heck did Bush and the Republicans do about illegal immigration and the border when they controlled it all? Not much. If we have an attack, and the intelligence shows that the perpetrators entered our country through the southern border, don't just blame Obama. Yes, he is certainly worthy of it, but so are the rest of the jackasses in Congress, a few state governors, the media, certain large corporations, and lastly, but most importantly, the voters who voted the jackasses in office (this includes me).2 points

They're just gearing up to introduce some new invasive "anti-terrorist" measure that will do nothing to stop terrorism but a whole lot to oppress American citizens (the Brits are up to it too). Just wait and see.2 points

My Powder stays dry Dave and my weapons remain locked and loaded. As far as I'm concerned first car bomb set off on that border should be the last and the order to shoot to killed should be issued and that order should be for all forms of law enforcement, Military and even land owners on the border. It's time to give Washington DC a lesson on how you close a border and keep it closed.........jmho I look for it to possibly take place in about 12 days on the anniversary of 9/11...........jmho2 points

Triggers are smooth as silk on these two (after very light polishing of internals with mothers mag polish) and both have custom grip panels. They shoot great! Tried a bunch of different grips but keep coming back to the factory rubber ones. Would like to add a Smith to replace my model 19 nickel I foolishly sold though. But they are nice revolvers. One with darker grips I've had since 1992 and the lighter grips belong to a 2014 model. thanks for looking! I1 point

Here's pictures of my little cannon.... I took some pictures to show how thick the barrel walls are. And don't worry, the little cannonballs cannot fit down the bore and nothing will be used as a projectile.... they are only for decoration. The only thing else it needs is a little American flag. It was a fun project P.S. Sorry for my crappy sign making, but my hands aren't as steady as they once were1 point

That , my friend is priceless. Now , quit drooling all over the pistols ! Turn on the Tennessee game and quit listening to my babble , it's all good.1 point

I am sorry your dad has passed. I have a .22 of my dad's' and a 12ga. side by side from my great GF in smokeless steel that are priceless. I protect them in my safe. My father has plenty of guns but does not want me to take them from him just yet. I was just making fun. Enjoy what you have , and as you do , protect what you can. My parents are both in their late 80's and live up the street from me. I am happy that I can drive by their house and not have to stop , but I do get the daily call to hit the Kroger. I am blessed.1 point

How on earth would they even know who owns guns in free states where folks can buy firearms face to face? This is cute, but holds zero water, imho. Sure, I'm sure I'm on a list somewhere, but I know a number of folks who've never filled out transfer paperwork but can still defend themselves if needed.1 point

I've had both a 92FS and a PT92. The Beretta had a bit better finish but I always could shoot better with the Taurus and the safety/decocker position also felt much better and easier to operate on the PT92. It also comes with an incorporated key-lockable safety. Now magazines don't interchange between them so if you like a lot of mags you can probably find surplus Beretta mags a lot easier and cheaper.1 point

+1 to that My dad killed deer for 40 years with his 35 cal. 336. Those 200 grain thumpers smack 'em down good. If you don't have a reload set-up, find a buddy who does and just buy him a set of dies and talk real nice to him to load you up some rounds. A case of beer can be a deal breaker :pleased:1 point

Nah, if I can't find a field with good hunters an more than 50 feet between us, I'll wait for deer season. But thanks for trying to make me brave enough to try!1 point

if this comes to fruition the terrorists are already here. It is foolishness to think we can stop an attack in ten days. If ISIS or whoever has something planned it has been planned and has been going on for some time. They can't pull this off in a matter of days or hours. Every year as time gets closer to 9-11 we read of these threats. It has not happened yet. an old Marine Gunny who is a regular customer came in today and talked about it. He wants volunteers to go to Texas and sit on the border to start shooting. He is willing to lead.1 point

The only interesting part was his interaction with the camera guy. Presumably he was from a local station. For an attention-seeker, this guy has NO presentation. He's worse than I am. I'm an introvert and a terrible salesman. He sounds like a 5th grader.1 point

I read that Warner Brothers actually owns the show(rights) and is looking for someone to go to with it. I really hope they are successful. This is a really good series. Almost as good a Craig Johnson's books. And I'm sure you all know how rare it is for an adaptation of the original to be as good. It's kind of ironic really. There are so many things that are changed from Johnson's story. Biggest is of course the story between Walt and Vic. You can guess that this relationship is a little closer than on the show. Branch is not in the books. And Ferg...well he doesn't play nearly as big a role. Lucian is a one-legged crochety old sherrif. And Henry Standing Bear is a huge person. Like 250 lbs of muscle huge. But if you have enjoyed the show, read the books. The are great. PS My wife is pretty teed off as well.1 point

Perhaps some of those militias who showed up out west a few months ago need to head down to the border. If enough of them showed up with long guns perhaps they might run some of these bastards back across the border. We know Uncle Sam ain't gonna send troops but if a militia of private citizens, or folks calling themselves the Tea Party went down Holder and Obama would piss themselves and move heaven and earth to get armed troops down there, if only to harass and arrest some US Citizens. While we are at it, why not bus all those agitators they arrested in Ferguson down there to stir up, loot, and burn Jaurez? Remember the Alamo!1 point

Maybe. But I think this one would be put right in BO's lap. He has intentionally kept the border wide open. On top of that I don't think he cares. Chaos is the order of the day. Fundamental transformation and all that.1 point

I have to admit it sometimes gets to me when people in front of me drive under the speed limit or keep swerving due to being on the phone, but never to the point of trying to ram them or even show my displeasure. I guess the 4 years spent in Japan driving in that traffic taught me patience. Now those that get in a left lane and crowd into the right at a begining of a long traffic line as if their time was more important than the rest of us...I do have my wicked thoughts.1 point

Reading these comments, I think it's interesting to see how many are engaging in the same sort of rhetoric that anti-gun people use for firearms in general (the "why would anyone" type of logic). Perhaps I am in the minority, but I don't see age as the issue here; it's the level of experience and skill the shooter possesses. 2 years old, 25 years old, or 80 years old, if the shooter is inexperienced and/or unable to effectively maintain safe control of a particular firearm, they shouldn't be using it until they have developed those skills. If a 9 year old has been shooting since a young age and knows their way around a firearm, it is entirely possible they could safely and effectively handle an UZI. Why would you let a small kid shoot an UZI? The same reason any of us might choose to shoot an UZI; it's something we enjoy doing and if done properly, it doesn't result in the unintended death of another person. I'm not going to insult anyone involved, but simply say that this is an example of how a seemingly minor lapse in judgement, something we all are guilty of from time-to-time, can lead to a tragic outcome. The problem here was complacency on the part of the instructor. My understanding of his background suggests he was reasonably well-trained and knowledgeable, but it seems he had a lapse in judgement in this case and this one cost him his life. The parents are most certainly second-guessing their decision to allow their child to shoot this firearm, but they trusted the judgement of the instructor who should have known that this inexperienced shooter was not ready for a full-auto sub-machine gun.1 point

Awfully harsh and judgmental thing to say about a young man trying to secure employment. I know when I worked at Walmart and Sears they both had the same policy and I broke them daily at each store I just didn't tell anyone. The policy isn't in place because the business is anti. They put the policy in place because it is a liability to the company if an employee was ever to shoot a customer be it accidentally, on purpose, or while taking down an active shooter. The employee, in the eyes of the courts is an agent of the company so it sets the company up for an easy lawsuit.1 point

You "ain't no" English teacher either  Just messing  I could not resist seeing that double-negative in that sentence LOL . You are correct , the G19 is really sweet. I did buy an X-Grip magazine sleeve for my Glock 26 and put the sleeve over the Glock 19 magazine and put it in my Glock 26 . WOW , its like a Glock 19 with a little shorter of a barrel .1 point

Be patient... we're working on that... but Rome wasn't built in a day. We have several folks in the legislature and executive branch that haven't quite "got it" yet, so it's going to take some time and effort to get things changed for the better. But hey, this year we just got 50+yr. old restrictions on knives removed, so there's always hope for the better.1 point

Welcome to Tennessee & TGO. I live in the Murfreesboro area. As far as selection goes, for stand-alone gun shops Outpost Armory is a gunner's wet dream. However, If you shop around you'll probably find better prices on a lot of things-- that's not a poke at them-- they've never claimed to be the cheapest. Even so, the selection is pretty hard to beat, and most of the staff is quite knowledgeable, so it all depends on what you want to spend. In most cases, if they don't have it in stock, they can get it. There are plenty of other shops in the area with varying selection, each serving its own little niche in the market... On-Target Arms in Murfreesboro, Specialty Arms in LaVergne,Mid-Tenn Pawn in Murfreesboro, and a few others. Obviously, as far as big box stores go, the Academy Sports in Smyrna is a good bet and stays well-stocked in the firearms/ammo dept. If you're willing to drive a bit, there are many others in the Nashville area who can fill just about any firearms need you might have. As far as transfers go, I haven't found anyone in Rutherford County who is cheaper than Mid-Tenn Pawn in Murfreesboro. $25 bucks. As far as ranges go, my favorite is still OK Corral in Woodbury-- about 15-20 miles east of Murfreesboro. It's an all-outdoor range with several separate pistol ranges, a 10-bay covered 200-yd rifle range, two trap ranges, a hi-power/shotgun berm, and they're still expanding... You can bring your own targets (recommended), shoot your own loads, and no membership is required. The price? How about $5.00 for all ranges-- all day long? (The trap range has a separate charge for clays).1 point

I used to do it (every once in a while and not that often), realized how silly it was, and haven't in years and years of carrying done it again. I've only seen 1 person since I've lived in TN open carry. And that was also at Home Depot, and it was a woman with an XD about 3.5 years ago. Even in MN I never saw it.1 point
