Meh. Liam ain't even American, the hell does he know about the founding fathers anyway? I didn't realize he was a historian or biographer... I could have sworn his job was to entertain, kinda like a clown...5 points

You'd possibly be the only person in the state that would have it on your arm to begin with. :) But it also begs the question, if you told someone strapped into one to "DROP YOUR WEAPON!!", but he couldn't! :) :) - OS4 points

Well, I kinda agree with him. I think that if the Founding Fathers knew how the 2nd Amendment is being misinterpreted to give the Federal Government the authority to determine the types of firearms The People can own by claiming so-called 'reasonable restrictions' then they would definitely be turning in their graves. I do think they would be embarrassed to see how the right of The People to keep and bear arms has been taken (and given) away over the course of the last, couple of centuries. In that way, I guess it is the 'right to bear arms' that is the problem - in that even as clear a statement as the 2nd Amendment is obviously not written clearly enough to keep antis from attempting to usurp that right regardless of what the Constitution actually says.3 points

Boycotting "whatever" is a personal thing. My way of saying screw'em. I figured out a long time ago when I boycotted Exxon because of the Valdez that my measly tank full wasn't going to make a difference to their bottom line, but I felt good doing it and that's all that mattered. And still do.2 points

Once again, an individual who makes his living by playing an overage game of "make believe" thinks his position of "importance in this area" gives him insight into the "interpretation" of Constitutional Rights.2 points

Checked out my cameras today and boy what a week makes! The acorns have dropped like crazy, and the velvet has come off! It has been years since i have seen this many acorns. Honestly, I can't walk without stepping on them. I found tons of rubbed trees and tracks like crazy. Had nearly 500 pics in a week! Looking forward to season starting.1 point

You are correct, I guess I should of been more specific. The proprietary barrel nut is usually included with most free floats, unless you aquire a used one without one so there are many used delta type ones out there. If you don't like the quads I would get this anyway, you can sell the handguard easily enough and I doubt you find one cheaper even with standard hand guards so it would offset the price of a delta ring and barrel nut purchase. But unless its cosmetics of the guards you dont like, they can come in real handy and with the rubber covers they dont dig into your hand at all.1 point

Sorry, but you are mistaken. NC has for several years now allowed a concealed carry permit to eliminate the need for a pistol purchase permit. If you don't have a concealed carry permit, you need a purchase permit for a handgun. Look at the attorney general's website or the website for Grass Roots North Carolina, the state-level RKB organization, if you want to confirm this. I lived in NC until moving to TN in February and I well recall how happy we were when the change in state law came about. This latest change affects only Durham County, which was the only county with handgun registration. As the article suggests, the law was implemented to harass black citizens. I'm glad it's gone. Nothing in federal law or even as far as I know in UPS Terms of Service forbids shipping gun parts as long as the part is not the firearm itself. Bigger question is: why did you tell them what was in the package? Also, being eBayer, you could have simply used UPS account to print label and drop it off, no interaction required beyond a nod. If you haven't activated free UPS account yet, then use USPS from PayPal seller account, print label and drop off. It it'll fit in box, you don't need to interact with PO personnel at all. If it won't, you can just drop it at USPS counter without waiting in line. If for some reason you don't know how to do any of that through eBay/PayPal, you can use USPS Click 'n Ship online from their site to pay an print a label, though it's not as cheap a rate or with as many class options as available through eBay seller account. Short answer is: you'll get a doofus about half the time with interaction with any given UPS, FedEx, or USPS humanoid behind a counter. - OS1 point

Yep, I agree actually. I'm the one who always sticks up in these kind of threads for the art itself, "separating the art and the artist". I always mention Jane Fonda as an example. I don't have to "forgive" the Hanoi Jane part to have also been enriched by any number of her fine movie performances, for example. Sorry about that bro. ;) ;) I mainly just can't pass up irony, especially as relates to the firearm theme of the forum. But can assure you, I'll still enjoy Liam. I love his recent list of action movies, though it's sad in a way that has become his primary metier after so many finer dramatic roles in the past, but that's just IMO, guess he was first corrupted by the Dark Side :) Well, actually likely somewhat more than the sad average of all Americans, as he did have to at least pass an American citizenship test! - OS1 point

Well, if I were presented with such an enviable task, my response would also definitely be something with a cylinder, nice grips and some tasteful engraving. Then, again, as it is for your 50th, maybe something like this would be appropriate: http://store.samsguns.com/RUGER-50th-ANNIVERSARY-BLACKHAWK-357-MAG-44-MAG-USED-A9008-12-A9009-12.htm Matched set of 50th anniversary Ruger Blackhawks, one in .357 and the other in .44 Mag. Serial numbers both have the same last three digits. Says they are used but that they are unfired. You could easily rectify the latter part of that statement.1 point

I feel like a bit of a hypocrite myself on this one. I won't do business with a store that posts a "no guns" sign. I will, however, watch a movie that has an actor/actress in it that I hate for their political beliefs. The way I rationalize this to myself is to think of the movie as a product, much like a ribeye steak at my favorite restaurant. I don't know the political beliefs of the owner, the manager, and every line cook in the back (nor do I want to know). Knowing the manager or one of the cooks was anti-gun might taint the overall enjoyment of my steak, but in the meantime, ignorance is bliss and the taste is not affected. I don't have the privilege of having this ignorance about movie stars, because these damn busy-body reporters keep asking them questions about their political beliefs instead of their job. If it weren't for these nosey reporters stirring up ####, I could continue to enjoy a good Liam Neeson without thinking about his idiotic views on guns. Now that I think about it, it's Oh Shoot's fault I can't enjoy Liam Neeson's next movie as much. If he hadn't told me what he read on this tabloid rag, I'd be a happier person. Thank's a lot OS, you ruined Liam Neeson for me...hope you're happy.1 point

You need a foundation to build off of, the American Red Cross would love to teach you basic first aid. The course is quick and cheap, you get certified, and I had a modest amount of fun doing it. This time of year you would most likely be taking the class with a bunch of freshly graduated girls on their way to be teachers too as a bonus. I wouldn't dump a bunch of money into equipment you don't know how to use, and I wouldn't recommend going to a high end trainer for a basic class. Start small and cheap and start adding items to your kit as you learn more about them, how/when to use them, etc.1 point

I myself just stick to basic Realtree AP most of the time. When it's really cold I usually have on my big brown Carharrt jacket and an orange vest though so it doesn't much matter. I do have some of the scentlock underwear but I'm not sure how well it works. I do get them in close though. The trick is to go outside nekkid' the morning of the hunt and roll around in the yard. :rofl:1 point

He wasn't even born here, "F" him. Ask GJohnson how many guns were around Mark Wahlberg, who condemns guns, this weekend in Knoxville. He even said the security team pointed their guns at him when he attempted to get up. I don't care who you are if you point a gun at me we are going to have HUGE issues. Good thing I didn't go to the MoH ceremonies because had someone pointed a gun at me it would have made national news.1 point

I wouldn't let this stop you from getting a muzzle device that you like. If you don't already have a strap wrench, it would be a good excuse to get one. I use a strap wrench on all my muzzle devices and flash suppressors. No worries about getting little scratches on them with a strap wrench, plus I use it for all kinds of stuff that I hate using wrenches on. Just used one to install two shower heads, then turned around and used it to tighten a castle nut on a virgin lower. They're great and only a few bucks.1 point

All enlisted, veterans, officers, and the POTUS are to salute the MOA. I was at a recent event and met two of the recipients where this was explained. It was my honor and privilege to do so as I was having my picture made with them.1 point

So, I heard an unverified story that this past Friday in Oak Ridge two MOH recipients were brought in on Black-hawk helicopters to the local high school. When they flew in, they buzzed over Y12, which sent them into high alert and they locked the place down. I know the guys were in town, I heard the lead up to the ceremony on the radio. They held it at the Y12 auditorium. I just don't know how accurate the flyover story is.1 point

The AK ones sure seem to, but firing one of the original SlideFire stocks that my uncle has, I was able to keep it on target just fine. The cyclic is probably 100rpm slower than an M4 on full auto (if I had to guess) and it makes it much more manageable. Kinda like the slow cycle on a M45/Swedish K on full auto versus an MP5. As for the video, they put a 100 pound girl in yoga pants who can't even hold the rifle properly to demonstrate their product. If they wanted to show how it could be accurately fired with stability, they would have put a dude on there. I feel pretty insulted by that marketing ploy. If we're going to objectify women to sell men products, at least put them in something low cut so we can see their boobs jiggle.1 point
