  1. The CIA had an opening for an assassin. After all the background checks, interviews and testing were done, there were three finalists: two men and a woman.   For the final test, the CIA agents took one of the men to a large metal door and handed him a gun. "We must know that you will follow your instructions no matter what the circumstances. Inside the room you will find your wife sitting in a chair. Kill her." The man said, "You can't be serious. I could never shoot my wife". The agent said, "Then you are not the right man for this job. Take your wife and go home".   The second man was given the same instructions. He took the gun and went into the room. All was quiet for about five minutes. The man came out with tears in his eyes, "I tried, but I can't kill my wife”. The agent said, "You don't have what it takes, so take your wife and go home."   Finally, it was the woman's turn. She was given the same instructions to kill her husband. She took the gun and went into the room. Shots were heard one after another. They heard screaming, crashing, and banging on the walls. After a few minutes, all was quiet. The door opened slowly and there stood the woman, wiping sweat from her brow as she leaned back against the wall. "The gun was loaded with blanks," she said between breaths. "I had to kill him with the chair!!!"

  2. Probably NOT the answer you want, but I load my 9mm with whatever SD ammo is available at a good price after I've cycled through whatever I bought the last time I found some on sale. I probably wouldn't go for full on frangible rounds, but pretty much any quality SD ammo will get the nod if its a few buck cheaper than normal. I do advocate buying enough at a go to run them through your pistol for a few mags to see how they feed and all, but that's one area where your smaller capacity comes in handy. It's a lot cheaper to run 3 mags through your 938 than it is to run 2 out of my M&P :D

  6. I have the Lee scale, and Ohaus Beam scale, and one of the Frankford arsenal scales. All three are accurate enough for most reloading chores. I find myself using the Frankford Arsenal digital scale the most, because it's easy to set up and fast to use. Although cheaply made, the Lee scale is quite accurate and fairly easy to use. Sometimes I like to check one against the other just for my own piece of mind. That's where the balance beam scale comes in handy.   You can put the Frankford Arsenal scale in your shirt pocket and take it somewhere with you. It weighs in grains, grams, and ounces. You can use it for more than just reloading.

  8. For those of you that never had a pumped out septic tank ... think about this. Solids settle on the bottom. Solids do not dissolve. Solids come from indigestible food and leavings that rot but don't dissolve. Solids come from sand and dirt, floor washing and laundry. Solids come from lint, plastics and whatever else that goes down the drain. Solids also come from "wet-strength" paper that is formulated in some toilet papers, paper towels and especially sanitary napkins. So now the bottom of the tank starts filling up ... less and less water with microbes doing the decomposition work. Eventually, the tank fills and solids start tricking into your leach field. Your leach field clogs up with silt. You now are looking at a $15-30k bill to build another leach field IF YOU HAVE ROOM ON YOUR PROPERTY TO DO SO! So unless someone invents a solution that turns solids to liquids in an environmentally safe fashion, pump that crap out from the bottom of your tank at least every five years. The more liquid in your tank, the more bacteria will separate solid from liquid keeping a 'happy' functional septic system. Those that want to continue believing in magic .... carry on.

  9. I will give this vet a pass, I dont know that I could of done much better in his situation. When you have friends die in combat, and you have this POS and many like him take their accolades for a measly 10% off their purchases and other monetary gains just pisses me off. While I was in uniform, and still, I would have people say "Thank you for your Service" and on a few occasions buy me my lunch before I could protest. I am always polite about it and acknowledge their thanks. But deep inside I kind of feel like poop, because I am home and many of my friends are not. And yes, I still shed a tear at Taps. These guys deserve much worse treatment!

  13. So many if you know I'm dedicated to the AK and have little care for AR's, but I was wanting a 308 platform and nothing in the AK world got me too excited. Came across an Aero M5 receiver set and so started assembling an AR in 308. Since its not really an AR, I could justify it. [emoji6] Anyway here it is. Ambush Tactical fluted barrel 16", Larue grip, knock off brake, Ergo F93 stock, PSA BCG. Still waiting on a proper length gas tube and the UTG rail is quite impressive. I know the UTG name doesn't instill confidence, but options are slim on the 308 and this thing is fantastic. Especially for the price.

  17. Are there any stray dogs in the area ? That would be my topic starter for the neighbor if so. As in "hey guys, have you been seeing any odd bones turn up in your yard " ? Or "Hey guys, has anything been digging in your trash " ? It might take some doing but I would find a way to get them bones into the conversation.

  18. By far the most intense and well acted scene in movie history, can't even think of anything that comes close   https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=aCW9NsrV6VM   If you seen the movie here is how there where 3 bullets in the gun when it was his turn   Before the VC hauled them into the room Mike told Nicky that after a couple of rounds he would tell the VC to put more rounds in the gun so they could escape.

  20. I doubt my table will move much but it might. Either way my garage foundation has one row of cinder block on the inside of the floor with a 2x6 or 8 on top of it so I can anchor the legs to that.

  21.   I laid 3/4" MDF on my bench and used bolts to go thru the MDF and the wood of the bench with wide fender washers underneath. Has held up for years of pushing and pulling. Where the lag screws come in handy is anchoring some sturdy L-brackets to a couple of wall studs. You definitely don't want your bench/table to have any wobble in it when you work the press.

  24. Stories I've read/heard this morning say the bus that crossed the median was swerving to avoid a car that pulled out in front of, or cut-off, the bus.  A terrible coincience that it clipped the full bus coming the other way.

  25. Amazing as it sounds OS, reports out this morning shows the east bound bus (44) crossed the median and struck the westbound bus (57). I travel that road daily and where they collided is the only part for miles where there's no ditch dividing the lanes. Back when they redone the bridge they paved to reroute traffic and thats where the bus came across.

  26. I carry 124 grn. +P HST in my EDC g19. I was turned on to it when I was in LE and it is what the department used. I have done some crude backyard testing and watched many videos. It is just what I like. Can't go wrong with any of the top brands though.

  27. I went to high school with Mousegunner's sister.  Mousegunner told me about her early death and then a short couple of years later he succumbs to the same disease.  I had never knew of him prior to his website. We had a couple of nice private dialogues.  I'm of a mind to finding a Galesi, Excam, Bauer, Astra and maybe a baby Browning.

  28. When I saw this video yesterday I got really ticked off.  The man impersonating a Ranger is quite pathetic (he has a long and chronicled history of engaging in such behavior), but that isn't what got me upset.  I got upset with how the veteran filming this video was behaving in public and even more so considering it was in front of his son.  Served or not, his behavior and language in public speaks volumes to me about his character or at least his judgement.   I am all for shaming those who seek accolades for something they have not done or earned.  If poseurs gain some financial benefit from their deception, especially from public funds,  then they should be arrested, fined, and made to pay reparations.  That said, there is a right way and a wrong way to shame someone.  Don't be a total horse's ass when calling someone out.  By doing so, you sink to the poseur's level, and you are also creating a situation that has the possibility of becoming violent even deadly.  One might not be concerned for their own safety, but this is a public place, so they should be considerate of those around them.  From the training I have taken/taking, I was taught it was best to remove myself from confrontational situations, not create them.

  34. I had the Lee Anniversary kit. I finally wore out the press ofter only twenty years of much use. I replaced it with a Lee Classic Cast press. I'll not wear it out! The cast press is worth the extra few bucks over the aluminum one. I understand the cast presses are made from railroad track. I like it better than my father's RCBS Rockchucker. It too is a nice press.

  39. Once again, why risk a septic system that will cost thousands to replace to avoid spending $100 a year (on average) to have it pumped?  How do you know that your septic system was "properly designed and installed".  How do you know it will last 25 years without being serviced?  Seems sorta penny wise and pound foolish to me.    Auto companies recommend you change your oil every 5000-7500 miles and you do that without argument.  Yet when plumbing professionals recommend you have your tank pumped, you suspect them of money-grubbing.   I'll continue to have mine pumped and you can do as you please.

  44. I still don't get that. My gun is outside my house, in my car, yards and yards away from me. How exactly does that prepare ME? It prepares the sumbitch breaking into my vehicle FOR me... but it ain't preparing me for anything out there. And if I'm incapable of remembering to take a gun with me when I leave the house (Oh, crap, I forgot it again. Oh, well, I have this one in here anyway, so I'm good), that's not much of a level of "preparedness."
