Been a loooong time since I last had access to a workshop, but I had a fun day today! Got this hunter profiled, ground & heat treated. O1 steel 3/16 thick. 4¼" blade fully flat ground at 62RWC. 5½" handle. I'm just waiting on some bar stock to come in for the pins, but I'll be handling it with blaze orange G10 with blue & white liners.6 points

Well crap, I guess I'll have to actually talk to my wife, I might even listen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk5 points

He made quite sure he stayed in the media for a good while with no outside help. Sorry, but if that all happened to me I would do my absolute best to make sure I stayed out of headlines. Selling the pistol that killed a famous gangster, say Bonnie and Clyde, sure that's historic. Selling a pistol used in a self defense shooting is just bad taste to say the least. Forgive me for not feeling sorry for a man that goes out of his way to draw attention to himself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk5 points

I have to wonder if this is an effort to flood the market before.... oh dam, forgot my tin foil. Be right back.4 points

She was just found. Never been so glad to be wrong. This could have been so much worse. Glad the little gal is back home where she belongs.4 points

I find no fault in this. If I had a $350 gun that I could sell for >$5,000 I'd do it in a heartbeat. :)4 points

I mean, a good serviceable AR under $450 shipped, and it's the midrange stuff, not even PTAC. Upper ain't even a blem. Just need a rear sight and a mag. - OS3 points

that is SO true...so, me and another nerd at work started a spreadsheet that we share on Google Docs. It has multiple rows for each vendor and multiple columns for each part. We keep it updated when sales come up so that we can tell with only a few keystrokes what the cheapest build we can make would be. We got the columns and rows to total up with shipping using formulas that account for combined shipping...because, like I already said, we're nerds.3 points

I've been doing a little digging and reading what people who know the family are saying, and I'm not convinced this guy had some sinister motive behind taking his niece. It appears as though he did break the law when taking her, but until proven otherwise, I'm thinking that he thought what he was doing was in the best interest of the child. Based on almost everything I've been able to find, much of the girl's family is plain white trash, which is why he had custody of her to begin with. I'm not ready to cut his nuts off and feed 'em to him, just yet.3 points

This can also be applied to academia in general (with few exceptions). I am in a theory and research class now and one of the textbooks praises Karl Marx like he did so much good for the world because he influenced others with his philosophical view of constructivism. The book never once mentions his first name, i guess they don't want the uneducated students to link this awesome Marx guy with Karl Marx or Marxism. And how Marxist regimes have killed 100,000,000+ and imprisoned multiples of that. Instead, he is portrayed in a positive manner that contributed a tremendous amount to the field of research; pro Marxism/socialistic ideologies.... because those have worked out so well for everyone in the past. Going to use the book to start a bonfire as soon as the class is over.2 points

LOVE THIS!!!! This is seriously one of the coolest things I have ever received. I can't stop playing with it. If you guys didn't jump on this offer from Steve, you should be kicking yourselves and then asking him to order you another Pro-Tech Magic knife of some sort. Awesome. Just frickin awesome.2 points

I'm sure that he didn't break any gunbroker rules, but I can assure you they pulled the auction because of the negative attention it pulled in. Imagine how many liberals had never heard of gunbroker before this stupid stunt, now half a million people have a specific website to target when the next gun control debate hits the front lines.2 points

It’s not about you; it’s about the company and getting the job done. If that means you being part of the solution instead of part of the problem; so be it. Those in charge will notice.2 points

Hardly think he has been free of repercussions. Are you kidding me? This guy has been ruined from the get go. Hope none of the people in this thread ever end up in a good shoot only to have every detail of their life, driving record, phone calls, family squabbles, etc. lived out on forums, social media, and the news media. I have no opinion on George as that case is closed, but it seems like the people that need to ride off into the sunset are the people that feel the need to passionately discuss every minute detail of George Zimmerman. :bored:2 points

Wouldn't put it past Zimmerman to drive up bids from a 2nd account.2 points

I was labeled hard to work with, but then again I was hired to do a job, not to make friends. It's always been my belief that 10% of the people you work with do 90% of the work, the other 90% are just along for the ride. We had a saying, "either be a leader or a follower, but get the Hell out of the way". :cheers:2 points

Every other day someone on Facebook brags about their bicycle or running marathon they do or about to do, post the mileage and route although not too many people really care that much, just hit like to be polite. Here's my Facebook marathon for the day. 2 points

Just saw this too. People who put off building one will be begging for these prices closer to the election.1 point

Financially, I agree. This cat needs to just ride off into the sunset though. The courts ruled it was a good shoot, that doesn't mean you have free reign to gloat about it and be free of the reprocussions1 point

Out of curiosity I was wondering if anyone besides myself changes out their carry gun. Personal I use whatever fits the job and take the gun out to the range before I carry it. My go to is usually my glock 19. I've taken it to competitions and I'm really comfortable with it. However, sometimes I need a lower profile and use my glock 43 or P938. In the winter months I go with a heavy caliber .45ACP or a .357SIG. I look forward to everyone's input and why. Sent from my LG-H810 using Tapatalk1 point

Every time I open this thread I expect to see some form of Game of Thrones meme because of the title.... I am looking forward to the update for the better mobile version. I hate Tapatalk so use the mobile version now and it works but could certainly be better. It would be great if you could see member location with the new mobile version.1 point

Contrary to what most people think about us old folks I don't hate change....I just hate trying to figure it out. A lot of it comes from not understanding terms and nomenclature...and probably never will.1 point
