If you own a gun only for display, you don't own a gun. Shoot the balls out of it.4 points

Today was probably my last chance to shoot @Chucktshoes Montana for a while. I also shot a great 5 shot group. Pulled the fourth shot pretty badly.2 points

We really need to bring back drawing and quartering as a form of dealing with monsters like this.2 points

A tsunami that wipes out the coastal cities would be just as effective and leave lots of good folks, amazingly gorgeous terrain, and very valuable farmland intact.1 point

Sounds like an afternoon's entertainment. These people aren't playing, they're absolutely doing it intentionally. The fun part is that it would take a really, really big quadrotor to do any sort of significant damage to an airliner. But even a small one with a little C4 for payload would be really bad news, which is why they shut the airport down.1 point

I don't think I will ever understand why men are so stupid as to do something like this. If I was in a rocky marriage and my wife came to me and told me she was divorcing me I would throw her a going away party and tell her asta-lavesta-Baby and celebrate her leaving. I would not want to be with any woman that did not want to be with me and I damn sure would never hurt my children............1 point

Actually, according to the ATF suppressor parts are in law suppressors. Having spare items such as rubber wipes for suppressors that use them is considered having an unregistered suppressor and people have been prosecuted for that.1 point

Kinda makes me smile at how totally unprepared they were and how inept they've been at solving it. It completely sucks for all the passengers who're stuck.1 point

Oh My Stars and Garters! (Points for Id'ing that reference.) I'm way lighter than that. A couple or 3 10/22 models, and M&P 22 and that's about it. A few too many 22 handguns though. lol And still wanting a Smith 617.1 point

What good would that do? If you get caught, having a bolt through it isn't going to prevent being charged.1 point

They might, but if it doesn't function then why bother, it's just a crappy stock then.1 point

It ain't pretty but it is pretty functional (1022): Archangel Precision stock, Feddersen nitrided .920 barrel, custom trigger by the late "Cletus Hungwell," Kidd bolt, SWFA 20x42 30mm scope in BKL one-piece rings.1 point

Mine will be shot. I understand collector value etc but that will be for my heirs to worry about. I collect/hoard but everything is subject to being shot.1 point

I have a decent sized sales territory so I've been in on podcasts for a couple years now. I love the Dan Carlin Hardcore History podcast, in particular his series on WWI. I will also listen to Jocko Willink, Jordan Peterson (Phenomenology of the Divine Series is excellent) and Sam Harris.1 point

Example of poor recon skills. "The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male or female with "apparent facial and head injuries." https://www.theblaze.com/news/retired-marine-takes-down-armed-robber1 point

Well, I have a pretty large sales territory so that consumes a lot of it. I used to have a list of AM talk radio station listed by area but I got tired of angry white guy talk. Next, when I'm at the office I have a 45 minute commute each way. Finally, I spend a decent amount of time on the zero turn and the tractor. I mostly enjoy that but some of what I do is mind numbingly boring. I've always been a huge fan of music but now I don't fish, I've been happily married for 26 years, my dogs like me, and I've never lost my truck so country music doesn't interest me much any more. Combine that with a desire to know a lot about a ton of useless topics and podcasts really work for me.1 point

Since moving the shop to OS several years ago, I've been keeping pretty steady hours of 8:30A-5:00P M-F I've been doing quite a bit of machining/labor jobs for other FFL/SOTs across the country but I still do general smithing as I always have. I do still ask folks to text me before they make the drive so I can confirm I'll be around. (803) 517-5448 is my cell. And of course email is welcomed as well Thanks guys1 point

Living Free in Tennessee The Survival Podcast Grass Fed Life Farm Small Farm Smart Hack My Solar - Another local podcast. Not super entertaining and he is in the middle of a big life change so it has been a while since he put out an issue but he has solid info on Solar. Homesteady - Also on Hiatus. Production value is really high and he has some great stories to tell. Hopefully he will get it going again soon. He and his family just moved to a new farm so he has been busy getting that under control (you can follow a lot of that on his youtube channel) I drop in on others from time to time, mostly in the regenerative ag or permaculture space1 point

Picked mine up about 30 minutes ago. Great looking pistol. Will be a few days before I can do much evaluating. Feels great in my hand though.1 point

They're not going to take them - as such they're not going to compensate anyone. They're just going to declare them illegal and future possession will be considered criminal. It should go to the courts - but the courts have spoken on this a long time ago. Wonder what else they might apply it to?1 point

I went to HD here in Lenoir City today and they only had the single as mentioned for 19.95. I took 2 of the singles to the service counter and had the 2 pack pulled up on their app showing the sale price. The lady discounted the 2 $10 each to give me the price so I didn't have to order online or go to another store in the area showing them in stock.1 point

Earlier this year the ATF referred a case to a US Atty. for prosecution of an owner of an AR pistol for making an SBR after adding a cheek rest to his AR pistol tube. Luckily the jury returned a verdict of not guilty https://blog.princelaw.com/2018/10/28/atf-unhinged-prosecutions-made-up-out-of-whole-cloth-you-might-be-next/ Of particular note is that the prosecuting attorney sought to preclude the ATF’s own FATB letters regarding the use of braces, cheek rests, and foregrips from being admitted as evidence. Their position was that the letters were not exculpatory because they weren’t about that particular rifle and that particular product in that particular configuration and did not set a precedent. To add insult to injury, it appears most of the court documents have been sealed after the loss. It doesn’t matter who is in office, the ATF is still gonna do ATF things.1 point

If we had a right to carry a gun I would agree with you; but we don’t. We are a “Special Group” that buys a privilege from the state. Businesses aren’t required to post all the legalize for our special group of HCP holders where we are allowed to carry. It is our responsibility to know where we can or cannot carry. We are moving closer to having a right, but we aren’t there yet.1 point

I have three 1912 Swedish Mausers, an m/96 an FSR m/96 and an m/41 and a total of 13 Swedes. Your stock is french walnut, chances are if the butt plate matches it is the original stock, the one crown stamp is indeed the first inspection before the rifle left Carl Gustafs. Your barrel is rated as a 2 which means some corrosion present in the lands but the Swedes were picky so it is still a fine bore. It was also measured at 6.51mm. which is pretty good. Should prove to be a fine shooter. PPU is decent but handloading with a fairly slow powder makes the Swedes shine.1 point
