I just flagged an ad on Armslist for overpriced .22 ammo and got the "the community has spoken, this ad has been rejected" message. Choke on it, reseller scum.6 points

Sounds like they are making these rules retroactively. This is the reason why HOAs are awful. They sound great in theory, but then they end up being another government organization that takes your money and make judgements that suit only their own interests, not the payee. The people that run this HOA company should be hung for their attempts at violating these people. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk5 points

I agree with you about sharing information. Unfortunately some people are not happy until everyone's not happy.4 points

I got ripped into for wearing an Uncover Police t shirt once. A woman told me I was taking my life in my hands letting everyone know I was an undercover cop............... She really flipped when I told her I wasn't a cop lol3 points

I have friends in most of the states. Got nothing to do with Yankees and Rebels. It's about liberalism, and what happens when a bunch of those psychotic assholes show up in the same place. It's not just something that I despise, it's something that's downright scary. We have had a few new folks show up this weekend from deep in communist America. Now, it's not unusual for the folks on this forum to give the new guy a few pokes to see what he's made of. From what I have seen, we wound up with 3 keepers, and one that got all butt hurt and picked up his toys. If somebody shows up sporting an Obama bumper sticker, somebody is gonna piss on their windshield... doesn't matter where they're from. For example, I'm a huge supporter of the folks in CT that refuse to register their AR's. In fact, I look up to them. Being a bunch of folks that play with guns, with lots of Feinstein's favorites mixed in, some folks may play a little rough. If it's too much to handle, there's always ARFCOM... the kinder, gentler gun forum :)3 points

This was exactly my first thought when I heard the news. I was there when some of his "followers" came to my town a few years ago to protest because five local high school cheerleaders burned to death in a car crash. For more than a week before the protest, Westboro made dozens of online posts about how the teenage girls were all burning in hell for being "sluts & whores" trying to get media attention along with making people angry. About 250 pissed off citizens (some of them armed & carrying bats) showed up. Our county sheriff already had S.W.A.T. & members of the TN Highway Patrol on hand because of the huge number of death threats posted toward the Westboro church members. The terrified Westboro church members got out of their van, formed a circle & said a short quiet prayer & then quickly got back into their van & drove straight out of town. I can only hope his cult quickly follows him into oblivion. Good riddance!3 points

No offense but the Civil War is over. And since then the American people have fought many other war's as one Nation. WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam...the list goes on. The pity is that so many American's had to die for their political beliefs at home way back then. However, we are united as a Nation and will continue to do so to protect our shores. Our biggest challenge is not the Russians but the modern American politician who is representing themselves and not the people of the USA.3 points

Saw this in Hermitage the other day, and don't understand. Doesn't this kind of defeat the purpose of an undercover operation?2 points

Well I'm not gonna be sharing anymore links over here anymore .... I was just trying to help out some fellow TN residents2 points

I heard he is going to use the same sanctions on the Russians he has been using the the U.S.A. for the past several years. I hear they are going to get Obama Care.2 points

"...... According to Scott’s grandfather Joe Scott, his grandson suffered an event at age three that left him with post traumatic stress disorder." Gee, I reckon that makes it all OK. I'm sure all of us who have experienced what Teddy Roosevelt called "that crowded hour" will completely and thoroughly understand the poor young fellow and he will now be a source of inspiration to all of us combat vets. NOT! :mad:2 points

I like Yankees! They are the only people who talk funnier than us Southerners. I work with a fellow from Boston. He once told me he had a Golf Cat. I thought he had a cat that was trained to find golf balls. I married a woman from New York City, we have been happily married for 21 years. As far as the Russians, I liked them better when they were the USSR. At least then we didn't have to pretend that we liked each other.2 points

Lots of good folks on this forum. You appear to be one of them. Tennessee is a great place. Naturally, the folks here are going to be protective. Colorado is a good example of what can happen.2 points

HOAs are toxic to Ham Radio also. You sign the contract, and you have signed rights away. Funny story - I built my house about 20 years ago, and proceeded to put up 3 radio towers (and later a 4th). The HOA went absolutely apesh!t. I let them rail and threaten me about it for ~18 months, before pointing out to them that they had not read their own paperwork (I had). My part of the hood was never annexed, and I was ~150' outside of the HOA bounds. I am still pariah.2 points

So far it's just been fun, kinda like brothers picking on each other. At least that's the way I've looked at it. I don't for a second think anyone has been mean to me in any way.2 points

Was out in California, driving along HWY 1. Found a lighthouse with some bluffs, decided it was time to look out at the ocean for a while. Lost track of time staring out there. Too bad their politics are so screwed up in Cali, the weather and landscape in norcal is incredible.2 points

I was looking for something in our employee handbook today and stumbled on this recent change under "causes for forced termination": Possession of a weapon or firearm on company property except when it is kept out of sight in a locked vehicle. Before this, we weren't allowed to have one at all. I'm assuming that this was done to accommodate the new law. At any rate... pretty cool.1 point

Given the answer given in CJ Sub, I'd bet the farm you are right RE the fiscal note - will be the same one attached to the parks bill (effectively killing it by placing it "behind the budget"). And it will likely have a cute little "corrected" note with it, stating that further consideration was given after new information became apparent (the CJ Sub question/answer). Sad, actually...that a bill is even offered up to say what the state Constitution already makes clear. What is this - a "yes, we were stupid and we're sorry" bill?1 point

I just wanted to take a second and suggest that anyone who can buy their ammo from David (dlm37015). He is a great guy and usually has a posting in the classified section. He sold me a brick of .22LR yesterday for $23. You simply can't beat the price anywhere right now. Go find him at the next show he's working and support a fellow forum member.1 point

For my pistol dummies I use a lead semi wad cutter instead of RN or ball. My rifle dummies are drilled and marked with black sharpie. I only use rifle dummies on the range. We load each others mags before drills, I had 1 live and 28 dummies followed by 1 live one...during one drill. Wasn't as funny as it seems.1 point

I want to come in slow. Don't want to be the guy that starts off trying to change things. I'm sure everyone here has seen enough of that. The last NY guy got all butt hurt and started stuff that could make us northern guys look stupid. Kinda like we see in LIFe. If we really want to leave behind what we are leaving, we need to take the lead from the people we want to become a part of.1 point

Its true, I may have just the slightest amount of Ca sand left in my man-gina, and I have been told by a member here that his first thought upon seeing me was "here's a dainty little flower" but all that aside the guy made it abundantly clear he wasn't looking to start anything and just wanted to talk fishing and hunting. Aside from having thin skin his only mistake was not being ashamed of where he was from or keeping it a secret. It was a shitty welcome.1 point

People do make jewelry out of the stuff. Even cleaned it must be Eley brass at that price. But what does the artist know? That reminds me....this very nice and very fine woman used to set up at the Knoxville guns shows selling her jewelry.....http://www.jenuinelyjeni.com/bullet_jewelry.html. We share the same name, and I grew up watching him on tv. When I was younger, I hated being called Mr. Rogers. Now that I have gotten older, I have gained more respect for the man's accomplishments, and I realize how genuinely good natured and kind the man was.1 point

Everyone is different and anyone who's had their wrist or forearm broken and not have it properly set right can have issues with physically getting sights and the gun lined up. Some people can use the grip angle to their advantage while others just cant get used to it. The old saying goes if it don't feel right, it ain't gona shoot right. Can one adapt to a different grip angle and shoot good? Sure but some just can't. Same thing with the trigger issues people say certain guns have or don't have. I personally don't like the triggers on the XD's or the M&P's vs. the Glocks but that's just what works for came. I can still shoot them just fine but I prefer the Glock triggers. (after a .25 cant polish job) Accuracy....Every pistol is more accurate than we are. It's why they're built. It's why they have "match" grade guns etc. Glocks are just as accurate and any other pistol out there.....it's just the difference in operators of the pistols. There are people who can take a G19 and shoot a mags worth through a quarter size hole and there are others who can barely keep'em all in a 6in hole no matter how hard they try. .1 point

That is done in order to seat the rear of the cartridge against the rear of the mag housing. It's because when you're carrying your mags in your web gear, it can get knocked around quite a bit and the first round in the mag may shift forward, which will prevent proper seating of the mag when loading, as the front tip of the round is getting caught on the mag well. Not something you want to deal with when you're doing a mag change for real. Has nothing to do with springs though. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk1 point
