1. I think a lot of this is being blown out of proportion. The OP is painting the III% to be a club or group, when it isn't. It's not about a page on facebook, and it's certainly not a club based on an Internet page as the OP is suggesting (loosely). I am a part of the 3%. I don't need to follow them on Facebook or read a blog to know I am one of those 3% of Americans that will fight if and when need be. I'd wager there are numerous true members of the 3% on TGO, that could care less about advertising it or following a page on Facebook

You said this: I don't need to beat my chest to prove I'm a patriot and sure don't need to be a member of anything to prove I'm willing to pick up a rifle and fight if a time came for that. Lotta folks here who have picked up a rifle to fight the enemy, fired their weapon in anger and brought back scars and metal in their bodies. 5. Hey, they make a big enough stink out there, Texas might simply ban public carry of long guns. I mean they already ban open carry of handguns, permit or not. They have other restrictive laws similar to TN's also. Neither T is nearly the bastion of gun freedom that many folks assume.   - OS

 6.   I carry a handgun, it is safely holstered.  If I carry an AK what do I do with it while I eat?      Pro gun people are talking smack about them because they are giving us a black eye. My parents taught me when I was very young that just because I can do something it doesn't make it the right thing to do.

 7. I'm just really surprised this is being debated on the TGO. I pray anti-gunners don't use a video like this to demonstrate the actions of us self-proclaiming "responsible gun owners" I don't see a positive reason to post this unless it's to show how quickly things can happen at a range and why it's important not to develop tunnel vision. However, if that was the intent, I would think it would have been mentioned in the original post.....

 8. I'm going to play devils advocate here.   All this talk about safety and breaking 180 blah blah...is all very sensible.   But,   There's a good chance that the same folks saying how stupid and unsafe this might be, are the same people who walk out in front of a moving car in the Walmart parking lot fully expecting (trusting) a complete stranger to stop his moving 3600 lbs. bullet.     Or they will Jay walk when the hand is red trusting that a complete stranger will be paying attention enough to slow down or stop and give them the right away and not get killed!?   I understand the need for being safe.  But why do people not trust other people with a gun in their hand but will trust the exact same person to be a fully competent driver operating a much larger and more deadly machine than a gun?

 10. At the bridge in Lexington the Brits were coming for the cannon, powder and shot. Very hard for the early REBS to make or get a hold of. The Ships were on the "list" as well, the personal rifles and pistols were not a big concern. So "Arms" means what ever you need to protect your self from Big Brother! Be it jet fighters, tanks, nukes, shoulder fired missiles, full auto, all the way down to a sling shot. They took full auto away in 1934 and it has been down hill since!

 13. The Supreme Court has only ruled ONCE about what is covered by the 2nd amendment as 'arms'.  That was as part of US v Miller in 1939.  The ruling of the court was that 'arms' included ALL weapons currently useful for military service.  Nobody bothered to show the Supreme Court how a short-barreled shotgun was used by military forces, so it was ruled to be subject to a $200 transfer tax.  Lower courts had three times ruled the National Firearms Act unconstitutional, but the Justice Department kept sending it back up to SCOTUS until the final time when the defense didn't show up.   Since then, especially after the travesty of the Commerce Clause in Wickard v Filburn, the Supreme Court has consistently ruled that the Feds can regulate firearms pretty much however they want.   Lately, they have tried very hard to avoid having to rule on what type of 'arms' are covered by the 2nd.   It is still legal for private citizens in this country to own almost any variety of weapon you can imagine.  Theoretically, you could own a nuclear bomb, IF you could find someone to legally transfer the plutonium and you had a safe facility to assemble it.   There is a reason why the government is so hot to totally trash any modern aircraft, armored vehicles, and other stuff that is taken out of service.  They do not want you to have it.  If they destroy it, you have to make it yourself.  And it will be very difficult to make a 120mm tank gun, much less the rest of an M1A2 Abrams!  The same is true of ammunition for such weapons.  Current suppliers sign contracts NOT to sell it to civilians, and you can't import the stuff, either.  Before 1968, you could buy anti-tank cannons and ammunition via mail-order.  Amazing how there weren't any problems caused by that.  The only folks I can think of in the US that have been assaulted by tanks and cannon are American citizens being assaulted by the government!

 14. TnIIIer, if you recognize my avatar, you know where I stand on this issue. That being said, please take my advice and dial it back a smidge. There are a lot of really squared away folks. Folks that I would argue are way more solid than you and I. Folks that you would find it valuable to know and make friends with if you could only back it down a bit. Right now you are making no friends and doing yourself no favors. It doesn't have to be that way. Be nice. Join in the conversations. Show folks that you are a solid cat and then take the real conversations to meatspace. Don't get yourself banned from what can be a very valuable resource for networking and learning from folks who can teach you from experience and not theory. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

 15. It's not so much a group as it is a mentality. Many, probably most, of TGO are 3%rs whether they are conscious of the term or not. You don't have to be a member of a facebook page, TGO, or even a military veteran. You just have to love and uphold what this country was intended to be by men with more balls than any of us could ever hope to have. (Founding Fathers)

 18. I will add this and then be done. I think that when or if the time ever comes much like the rancher issue out west ever arises around here I would be willing to bet it will pretty much turn out the be a meeting of a bunch of TGO members going to help out a new friend and show what ever support is needed to take care of the issue. I just hope the farmer or rancher we should go to help is smarter than that rancher was......If anything does happen looking forward to meeting a bunch of TGO'ers I have not met yet. Just look for the Red Jeep Chreokee with white letters on the windows. That be me..................jmho   p.s. I  Don't do face book either

 20.
The III% is a group! Not just on Facebook, that's just a vehicle of sorts. Being III% is just what you've said, being the III% of Americans who will fight! No one has to join, I was just trying to grow a page. Of course their are the fairweather ppl like on here who think everyone in a "group" are conspiracy theorists.. Which the III% is not.. Just trying to grow the page.
I think you spoke to the reason no one is taking you seriously, you're trying to grow a page. You claim the 3% is a group...I'll give you that. Someone made a web page and commercialized it, sure it's a group. What you don't realize is "The 3%" have been around for much longer than you, I, or Obama. You are or you are not, no group required. There will always (I hope) be a 3%, wether on not they were a t-shirt with the emblem on it or join a Facebook group I'd like to hear the OP's answer to this myself. In my eyes, this is part of the problem. Someone has commercialized "the 3%" and made it political. The true 3% that I know are called patriots. Not looking for a fight, but willing to fight back if and when that need arises

 25. Bersaguy they will call you names no matter what you say or do. You assume they are fighting fair. Bush is a great example. No matter how he tried to honor the office of president by not getting into the fight, he ostensibly let all those who supported his position take the hits for him. It's a noble thought but the reality of the fight is far different. They way you win these arguments is changing the false promise that they try to use. As long as we let them set the stage and fight by their rules we will struggle. You can be tactful about it but you have to change the premise and Joe was trying to do that. This is also how we get Rhino's. They let the dems set the premise and then they try to work within that framework. That's why most of them sound like democrats and there ones that reject it are labeled extremist.

 26.   Not saying this is your issue but right there you have posted two things  that are proven to cause issues in many many guns Bersa included...   Reloads even from well known shops are known to cause feeding issues and while I will shoot steel case out of some of my guns the Bersa has been proven to all but hate steel case ammo such as Tula... Buy and break your gun in on brass factory loaded FMJ ball ammo...

 35. The interview went great. I start the pre-training the second friday in June and it goes for 3 total fridays. 7 am to 3:30 pm each day.   I know it's no guarantee of a job but i have also heard the initial training is worse than the job itself. I guess they have to weed out those who want to work and those who just want to goof off.   Just glad they are giving me a chance. Thanks all

And it beats the hell out of a suburban. EVEN gets worse millage too. (Dont know about the V12 suburban tho, that thing is atrocious on gas)

 39.   These ignorant douchebags are doing the anti's job for them.  They are getting places posted or causing a national scene which in turn brings heat on businesses to take a stand.  Anti's just have to sit back and watch supposedly pro-2A folks dig a deeper hole  for everyone who wants to enjoy what little rights we actually have.   Why is that so hard to understand?

 40. On a public range YES. On a private range not really. If the person is trained for that situation.   If I were the person down range. I would not have any person that I did not know could make the shots on my PRIVATE range.       I guess it's the same thing as going to a doctor. I'm not going to one at my local flea market. I going to one I trust with a degree and in a physicians office.

 44. Yep.  Seems very unsafe, but there is a very small handful of people I trust enough to "break the 180" with.  If I know that they are aware and competent enough (and I tell them I'm moving up), I would do it.   Without doing something similar, combat troops could never "leapfrog" toward the enemy.  By that, I mean one provides covering fire and the other moves up.  Someone with actual combat training can correct my terms, please.
