  1. Got mine today. A little too excited for my own good. My santa outdid themselves. There was a Academy Sports Ammo box full of goodies. A Browning shotshell air freshener A turkey call Balmshot Lipbalm A nice little one handed folding knife 3 different boxes of 22LR A 5 pack of M&P earplugs An Elite Tactical Systems clear 30 round AR Mag. And the Ammo box itself. (How did you know I just filled up my last one with 30/30?) Thanks Santa!

  3. A guy local to me had his house broken into and a bunch of guns were stolen. If you seen someone selling a collection of guns bounce it off this list and if they match up get as much information as you can and call the police. Old 22 single shot 20 gauge single shot Ruger 10/22 without a clip Black powder 1858 Navy (I believe it is a reproduction but not positive) 12 gauge single shot Mossberg 3 boxes of 270 ammunition Also stolen was a 16 gauge double barrel shotgun that belonged to the guy's father. The rest of the guns are run of the mill and probably won't raise an eyebrow but a 16 gauge double should. I cannot remember the last time I seen a 16 gauge double so that is what will catch the thieves. So if anyone here hears about someone selling a 16 gauge double in east Tennessee please notify police if it doesn't seem legit. And for everyone else out there, keep your stuff locked up because the thieves seem to be working overtime this year. I hope the Grinch steals a few souls from these thieves this year. Thanks

  5. I carry a knife everyday, typically my damascus TGO Magic. In an effort to minimize scratches on my favorite knife I don't typically put anything else in the pocket I carry my knife in (keys, change, etc). I've been TDY out in Oklahoma for the last couple of months and I came across these jeans made by Ariat (the boot company). They have a built in knife pocket that allows me to carry my knife and use the pocket without fear of damage to my knife. A small thing I know but it's made me pretty happy. Merry Christmas y'all.

  8. Secret Santa is a lot of fun.... but mine is testing my patience. Literally. Check it out! This box was on my front porch. Turned upside down. So I brought it in like that. Feet included for scale, pay no attention to the dimensions on the box. Righting it then opening, I found this tiny package. Granted, there was also what appeared to be a giant pile of paper packed in there... which all turned out to be these! So I'm not sure what to do. Open them all now? Wait till Christmas - then keep the party going for 12 more days?!!?!! Not sure if I can keep the the inner child at bay and NOT tear into them all. We'll find out soon enough! PS: Secret Santa marked that one is for Ruby and Oso(Bear!) - The dogs! Huzzah! Bonus pic of Bear, he went straight too sniffing the one marked for him. I will have to visit my parent's house for a recent pic of Ruby! EDIT: ANOTHER BOX CAME IN TODAY. Updates soon. The first boxes are opened! Opened the small package marked Merry Christmas - There was a camo Gideons New Testament In the tall box I received today there was another XI, and a note - it is the 12 days of Christmas. And no, it's not late! The 12 days start on Christmas and go till Epiphany. That said, I'll test my will and try to open them 1 at a time... unless the forum consensus is just tear the paper. In which case it's opening time.

  9. Sears has been bordering on bankruptcy and irrelevance for years. The Craftsman line of tools went to hell years ago. The last saving grace they have (or had?) is appliances. Most of mine are Kenmore and they are excellent. In the past, usually slightly better stuff from the same name brand manufacturers than what Lowe's & Home Depot sells. But in reality, all appliances are for #### these days. It is now your responsibility to rebuy everything every few years to keep the garbage manufactures in business.

  11. I stumbled across this and although I am not an SKS aficionado I do know there are some here. This IS the most comprehensive gathering of pictures the SKS that I have ever seen.   Here is a detailed listing of what is on each of the 46 webpages of information. http://www.yooperj.com/SKS.htm   And here is page 1. http://www.yooperj.com/SKS-1.htm

  12. ...you spend more time figuring out which guns to pack for a trip than you do your clothes, etc? I packed my suitcase of clothes in about 7 minutes yesterday, and it only took that long because I had to match up some socks from the laundry hamper. I've spent about twenty minutes tonight deciding on which guns and ammo to bring, and how/where to pack them all.

  13. I'm glad I'm not the only one! Yes, those impromptu range trips'll catch you by surprise! Now I have enough of each type that I'm just packing 9mm handguns, an AR, and AR pistol both in 5.56/.223. Defensive stuff in the mags, and a few boxes of plinking stuff in case the new range is open in wifey's hometown.

  15. Caught a huge male this morning. Probably one of the biggest and most aggressive coyote I've come across. Most try to get away but he came at me. The pic is him next to the average female I caught the other night. He makes almost two of her.

  16. Yeah, that's not right. Anyone over 18 that isn't otherwise restricted can own one. http://smartgunlaws.org/minimum-age-to-purchase-possess-firearms-in-tennessee/ A dealer can only sale a handgun to people 21 and older. Technically for private sales you can buy one at 18 even though many sellers will play it safe.

  17. See, I have always had the exact opposite in Cleveland. I cannot think of a single issue I've ever had with UPS. Fedex on the other hand has randomly rescheduled several deliveries over the years. Also, just this week, I'm 90% certain I saw a Fedex employee toss a package from the road onto my neighbors porch. Obviously UPS could be guilty of the same, however I very much suspect it generally just comes down to the employee.

  27. Sears is where America shops! I mean use to shop. Wife and I went to Sears at East Town Mall, I mean Knoxville Center, and spend more than we had at a Sears in 10 years. Everything was on sale, or at least they said so. Picked up a package I had ordered online. If it hadn't been for this, we never would have gone. Purchases were clothing. Wasn't crowded or very busy. When I was growing up Sears was the store. Mother would call in our Christmas order from the catalog and we would go downtown and pick it up when it came in. We just had a catalog store in our town. Sad to see it go, but if things didn't pickup from the day I was there, don't see Sears around much longer.

  30. Gjohnsoniv, what an excellent accent idea. Never seen that before Gregintenn, the carving is outstanding. For anyone interested in mid TN, Tandy Leather Nashville was advertising a carving class either the first or second Saturday of January. I think it is free, but am uncertain.

  34. I have a Glock 20 for a woods sidearm. I love it. The recoil isn't bad and it does smack the target much harder than 40s&w. I haven't done a scientific test with the chrono, but I can tell the difference. The 40 is for those that want a 10mm Short I guess I have an HK USPc in .40s&w, but I rather carry my Glock 19 for EDC. 40 just doesn't do much for me. I used to carry a 44mag in the woods, but the 15 +1 of 10mm with night sights gives me more over all comfort. I load it with Underwood 200gn hard cast. I have not observed any leading yet in my stock glock barrel, but I don't put tons of that ammo through it. https://www.underwoodammo.com/10mm-auto-200-grain-hard-cast-flat-nose/

They run hot and cold with me... The Protek blade is basically a dagger, and the Adamas is great big... I'm hopin this Kershaw Launch 6 is like "Baby Bear's Porridge"... Just right.... I pretty well like a slim, long blade; and this one has it... leroy

  38. I like my Bersa 380. The only ammo it won't eat is TulAmmo steel case. I ordered a spare magazine on ebay for a good deal. The factory magazines are overpriced. The one I purchased is made by MecGar and it's been reliable.
