  1. A different forum I'm a member of has a thread where we post deals found online. Here's the most recent, a cheap red-dot on Amazon for $6 after discount. 3. Thanks guys! Other than my wife, he’s the first person in my family to ever see the inside of a college, so it’s a pretty big deal to me.

  5. LOL @leroy! I agree with your sentiment but have come to the opposite conclusion. I believe it is their intent to increase the level of violence. You ain't seen nothing, yet.

  6. I picked this up awhile ago just because I thought it was one of the best looking revolvers I had seen. I bought it out of an estate sale. It was custom ordered and the gentleman had the factory engrave his name on the backstop and give the gun a custom serial number using his initials. The gun has been shot but not much and not be me. It has beautiful deep blueing and vibrant case hardened colors. It is in .44 special, it has faux ivory grips and in my opinion the perfect length barrel on a SAA, 4 7/8th. It also comes with a nice presentation box. $1250

  7. Greg this is almost verbatim what my dad told me. He said all you have going for you on this earth is your good name, if you screw it up it will follow you no matter where you go. He also said as you climb the ladder of success watch the fingers and toes you step on to get there as they are attached to the a$$ you may have to kiss on the way back down.

  8. The theory that’s gaining traction about what may have contributed to things is that apparently SLAP rounds are not to be used in firearms with muzzle brakes. (It’s in the relevant training materials and manuals for their use.) The sabot can deposit material causing partial barrel obstruction and resulting in massive pressure spikes.

  9. I'm very forgiving of when people can't make a scheduled appointment. I'm not forgiving if they don't communicate it. Life happens and I understand that, but a text, DM, or email takes but a moment. Like putting your grocery carriage in the space for them instead of leaving it to hit another car, it's one of life's little decency tests that everyone should pass.

  10. Jamie I am totally with you on the dread of what components if/when they become available again will cost us. But the bright side is no matter how expensive they get, it will always be more affordable than factory ammo.

  11. I’m with the original poster. I’ve got 50 cal. ammo cans full of .38 special, 9mm, .40 cal, and .45 acp. I reload.

  12. 1. Made from 3/16" thick 1084 carbon steel it has a 5 1/2" blade and 11 OAL. It comes with combo leather/kydex sheath shown. The handle is zebrawood and elk antler with G10 accents. The finger guard is 1084 as well. It's $100 shipped. 2. SOLD!! Made from an approximately 100 year old Nicholson file that I liberated from my uncles (junk pile) shop. It started out about 3/16" thick. It has a 6" blade and 11 1/2" OAL. It comes with combo leather/kydex sheath shown. The finger guard is brass that I shaped and antiqued. The handle is Padauk with bog oak and G10 accents. It's $140 shipped. 3. SOLD!!! Made from 3/16" thick 1084 carbon steel it has a 6 1/2" blade and 11 3/4" OAL. It comes with combo leather/kydex sheath shown. The handle is made from golden shower....that's right...I said golden shower wood and purple heart, bog oak and G10 accents. It has a Damascus finger guard. It's $110 shipped. 4. SOLD!! Made from 3/16" thick 52100 ball bearing steel. There are hours and hours of pleasure in making this Bowie look old. As you can see it has a false edge and has a blade length of 8 1/2" and OAL of 14" It's long and narrow and very light. The finger guard is made from a an old rusted piece of cast steel. I antiqued the handle as well made from black locust with bloodwood and G10 accents. It's $150 shipped. Thanks for lookin'!!

  16. I’d love to see some of these states that are passing laws that are designed to “protect” the 2A from the feds welcome companies that build parts, receivers, etc. If all these restrictions go into place, then allow them to continue production, sell, protect them and thumb their nose at the BATF. Poke them in the eye! Let the states flaunt their power in the face of the Feds! We all know it ain't gonna happen, but wouldn’t it be something to see the states tell the Fed to come and take ‘em. If the current trend is not stopped the Fed won’t stop until they are all illegal.

  18. That is entirely dependent on condition, manufacturer, and originality. If you find a USGI mixmaster for less than $1k you’ve done very well. I bet these will start around $1,400 if not more for the lowest grades.

  25. I’d say another major contributor is the fact that Scott is an absolute unit. There is no doubt that his overall health and physical condition helped him survive. If you need another reason to hit the gym, there’s one right there. Somebody else (like me) in below average physical health/conditioning would not have survived.

  27. I am so very happy that I've not been as active this week as usual...that would have tempted me beyond belief! In a fit of foolishness, I sold my Smith 624 and have been thinking of a SA to replace it. I have very few SAA revolvers, mostly in 22, but that would have been a great new addition.

Wix makes a filter just for synth. oil. it Has a XP after the part # . Bought one today for the F-150. # was 51372XP. For extended performance it says. I'll give it a try next change. FWIW

  31. It’s hard to get people to tell you the truth about anything anymore. Trying to buy or sell anything, it’s about impossible to people to talk to you on the phone, it’s like they afraid to speak to you. I understand sometimes it’s easier to text if you at work or just can’t talk at the moment, but if I’m gonna deal with someone I want to speak to you.I can find out more talking to you in 2 or 3 minutes than I can texting or emailing for a week. I have had good dealings with people on here though.

  34. I’ve bought so many IWB holsters that I got tired of spending money. Bottom line is none of them work for me. I’m 6’ 2”, 180 lbs. I just stick with OWB, and can conceal it good enough, with a coat in the winter or a untucked shirt in the summer.

  36. saw several comments on oil on sale/rebates and changing your own oil. I used to all of the time. then I found it to be less expensive to have it done. that also geys the vehicle up on a lift to more easily see other issues. with Buick sending me coupons for oil. filter and tire rotation for $40 I'm not crawling under it. yep, that is up to 6 quarts full synthetic.

  41. Lead's still fairly easy to get at $2.00 lb. You can go on eBay right now and buy all you want. And, for once, shipping's pretty reasonable with the post office's flat-rate boxes. The person who delivers your mail won't like it, though.

  43. My reaction if I saw this guy coming at me with a gun is probably the same as a burglar would react if they broke into our place at night, when this fat old naked guy meets him with a pump 12g. He will not know if he should be afraid or laugh. Either way I figure it would give me an advantage.
